    Hi

If anyone is interested I have a very good 2nd hand paperback of the Cannabis Breeders Bible by Greg Green. The deal also includes 20 regular seeds ( Seedsman )  of afghani indica ( 10 ) and skunk #1 ( 10 )  seeds. Just thought this would be a nice package for anyone wanting to get into breeding. Let me know if you are interested.

what else could you include to make the deal sweeter? any other grow books you could include?

Hey bud, dont worry about my bubble, its strong bud. Looking into prices now, I did check prices, maybe I was wrong, check the time I posted it. I have donated the money for this parcel to Fields of Green for All, so its really to raise funds. Oh and the deal is sweetened up, 1 pink kush fem has been added already.

ok dont see it for sale on ebay, Amazon its sold 2nd hand for even less, R250, ex shipping and import duties. I see the seeds for sale on seedsman are R550 for 5. On GSR you are looking at R700 plus for 10 seeds of skunk #1.

May I ask why you dont think the seeds are great? They are regular seeds, produced in Spain and some of the greatest breeding strains ever produced. Personally I think its a steal and a lekker package for anyone wanting to start up.

    Breeders Bible: R250
    Afghan: R500  for 10
    Skunk: R 590 for 5, you get 10 seeds.

So my math was not so bad, they dont come in printed packaging, but one also has to walk with integrity sometime in life.

    Shot for the clarity brother.

Donations and charity causes are really great man, so props to you.

And as for the seeds, as much as they may be decent breeding stock... It's just not the strains I'm personally looking to grow... I know you are a fan of the landraces, but I think you are starting a bit too far back for most new guys who are more interested in current genetics.

Growing up I was introduced to jut weed. And among my group of friends, skunk weed was never a reference to good or great weed... Always referred to kak cheap skyf as skunk.

Also, the skunk is very sativa and not entirely suitable for beginners in my opinion, unless you have a ton of outdoor space and privacy.

The Afgan though, sounds good. Nice compact breeding projects for indoor.

Im not tryna diss your post, it is a great initiative!! But even more honesty... Is peeps that are ready to learn how to breed would likely also have an idea of what they want to breed, possibly they even have the breeding plants to use.

    Peace and love bro

Always referred to decent weed as skunk, its a term generically used for weed that has a skunky smell, jat has not much of a smell, so surprised its termed skunk anywhere. When i used to buy weed on the street, all skunk was reference to better than the usual which has a skunky smell. Maybe times have changed, but I dont think so,  and the media refer to skunk as "potent weed". You from Cape Town?

No worries, you not dissing the post, you asking questions. I think and also have proved it is a great deal, plus you get a cannabis cup winner fem seed that is not easily available. Take it, leave it, I just want the money to go to a good cause and see someone enjoy the book, possibly one of the most comprehensive books on breeding ever produced.

Just letting you know, you are the only person I have chatted to who refers to skunk as low grade weed. I have traveled the world, listened and learnt. i am interested to know how you came your reference of skunk, never heard it before. Did you grow up on Cheese in CT?

    Skunk
Strong Weed. Ridiculously strong. Usually grown outdoors. It is a guaranteed fucking-up. This is the kind of weed that leaves you sitting there giggling for twenty minutes, your legs numb, your mind completely bricked, and your hands so twitchy you keep spilling the bongwater all over the floor.

And the difference between the slang terms chronic and skunk is chronic was quality indoors.

I guess it was just what I was exposed to.

I grew up without weed until I was about 18...never saw it... Never smelled it... Nothing...

I grew up in a small town called Amanzimtoti and was very sheltered.

When I was introduced to weed... It was super low quality crushed leaves... And it staaaaank.... But that was later known as proper jut... But where ever I did get any weed that I was told is great, was usually called skunk... 20 Rand banky of brown muck... Regrettably I didn't know any better... But if I had to blame someone for giving me this outlook on skunk... It would be my early days dealers trying to make whatever buck they could... Forever tarnishing my views on skunk weed.

For me, my ears perk up if someone whispers about a cheese they have... Or a blueberry they know of... Rooibard if I had to pick a south African favorite.

Ah a toti boy. Yip it probably stank of mold and was in your dealers crotch area for a couple hours while he was hussling. Using the term skunk has been used by jat dealers for decades to market weed. But toti did and does have good weed.Shame recently a guy I knew from Toti took his own life. Very bad, such a nice guy, a bit mental, but he had a huge heart and always made me laugh. He loved his weed.

Skunk is probably one of the strains that is in most of the weed we smoke today. Its name is a total screw up. I think you and your mates got the name Skunk, totally confused BTW. But thats banana boys for you.

Eish awkward, we Centurion boys also used to call low-grade 'skunk'. Even worse weed we called jut.

Skunk to us was just standard weed. Nothing fancy and certainly nothing strong.

Blame the dealers and their crotch weed.

Very awkward, cause I used to live in centurion, work with many cannabis activists and that was never the case. Atleast it was one up and on the norm of skunk being better than jat. Cause that what was skunk was. It was usuallly well grown outdoor swazi with a pip or two in old big bank bags for R50 - R100. 2007/2008 I remember it was when after years of prices being stagnant that was the time when prices started fluctuating, it was the start of indoor and strain specific weed. That was the year the first indoor grow shop started in Randburg and when cheese arrived, probably a couple years earlier.

I just think skunk means something else to each person.

I was gifted some 'cold' purple weed that was supposedly purple haze. My reaction to the smoke was that it's too skunky. I dont like the cat piss smelling terps of some strains. To me that is skunk. A funky yucky cat piss...

I think there is a strain called cat piss from Australia. When guys tell me this is purple haze, you smile and know what you dealing with and say thank you.  You closer to the point of what skunk really is, lets go right back and ask why it was called skunk #1? Penny drop.

Ask an artist what colour an orange is, ask a skunk dealer what a colour an orange is. That is the difference in skunk weed.

But I've rarely noticed those terps from actual Skunk #1, or crosses thereof though...its fruitier, sweeter, dank. The phenos doing rounds nowadays anyway.

Exactly the same has happened to many an old school strain. The genetics simply drift over time.

Dude, I haven't been able to find a proper oldskool Rooibaard/Transkei bud for jeez almost a decade, every now and again i get something that looks kind of similiar at first glance & for a moment get hopefull of catching a whiff of sweet nostalgia but end up dissapointed everytime the vacuum seal is broken & that first aroma whiffs out its like nope, not a chance!

While it may look like the lost unicorn, but it turns out its just a donkey who rammed his head into the wall to try ton getbthe carrot infrtont of his face to stop moving and instead impaled it into his forehead and the unicorn was born.......LoL

On a serious note though, where can one find these oldskool beans, certainly can't find them online or have I just been blind and not looking in the right places?

Malawi is another haven't smoked in ages but if I'm honest dont miss it a single bit because while its a very enjoyable smoke with a heavy stone it should come with a warning because its guaranteed to turn you and your crew into a pack of rabid locusts on a mission to raid every cupboards in a 10m radius/eat 2x your bodyweight & possibly start a fight over the crunchy snacks

Seeing as you guys talking about jut I'll throw in my 2c, back in my day there were 2 kinds of jut - the worst of the worst was called Mpondo (nickname= tamatie blarre) sticks/stoppe cost like R2 but it was basically just leaves, stalks & at least 200 pitte - this mostly smoked by buttonkoppe not worth your time - then there's turi/turry skuif - quality can vary greatly but yeah is mostly lower grade that look similar to mpondo but tastes slightly better but essentially same thing, tons of light green seeds with heads always having more stalk then bud - I must also say though albeit only 2 or 3 times this same jut strain grown sensi, has gotten me pretty baked but nooit the strain in general is simply below par

Now the skunk vs Swazi matter, in cpt back in day skunk was always king, and fetched a slight premium but many people would just say that they got skunk but sell you swazi which is the reason why there is such an issue between smokers differentiating between the two because they believe what they smoked was 'skunk' and therefore always refer to it as 'skunk' but 50% of the time was a Swazi, because the differences between them are very subtke indeed a skunk - so basically unless you bought skunk and bag seperately (preferabky at the same place) anyone's who been to purple turtle and bought a bag of Swazi and a bag of skunk at the same time will know the difference and the only difference is flavour -- i actually remember a time where the terms were combined and was generally known as a 'swaziskunk' but I guess by today's standards calking that a skunk would be completely incorrect because now UK Skunk is the world skunk standard no? And one thing I can say for sure is that they miles apart, not blasting our version its just original UK skunk tastes amazing & entirely different strain - however its no secret that countless of the worlds best/strongest hybrids were bred with sativas whose origins can be traced back to RSA, because apparently our sativas are among the quickest growing/flowerimg, most potent and produce the highest yielding sativas (something to do with a 31st meridian line)

13 seconds in and you realise what skunk generally means to most of the worlds weed population. Just thought I would post for some education.

My first experience with proper indoor was super skunk. Kicked my 17 year old ass straight outta Burn.

Oh lord, which KZN members know of the good old Burn and Winston.

Oh and the sweetened deal is you get 1 pink kush fem seed, which is almost impossible to get your hands on. Its a cannabis cup winner. Thats the best I can do.

Due to the lack of interest in this, going to make a top package for @Gloriosa superba. Sent you a DM. Cheers.

Thank you @Gloriosa superba, your purchase is being packed and will update you the tracking number. As per original the full amount was paid to Fields of Green for All. You getting an unreal package, that even the most seasoned breeders would be sweating for. Cannabis, tobacco and chillies on their way.
