Howzit guys It’s been bloody ages since my last grow so I couldn't be happier to finally be going again! I’m gonna be doing a mixed medium run this time i.e both organic and hydro. Doing a side by side comparison so that should be rather interesting. I'm still a noob when it comes to organic growing, this being my 2nd proper attempt at it, but I learn't a lot the last time round so hopefully I can work off that. Here are the specifics of the grow: Organic For older plants I'll be using my own living soil mix. This is my 2nd grow with this recipe. A lot of my amendments were sourced from Organics Matter. Highly recommend them. For seedlings, clones and young plants I'll be using my basic seedling mix. Feeding regime Once again I plan to opt for as little bottled nute as possible. Coconut water - worked wonders for me last time. Kelp tea Compost Tea Fulvic & Humic If I run into issues I'll be getting some Biobizz Hydro Medium: Coco/Perlite 60/40 Nutrients: Nutriplex Trio Supplements: Gthydro Calmag, Hortishop Silica. The Genetics Thanks to the incredible efficiency of our local post office I have been waiting for a seed order from the UK since the end of May. According to tracking, it's been sitting at our customs since the 30th of June. I can't get an update from them either as I've sat waiting 40 minutes on the phone for an operator, twice, with no luck. My impatience couldn't hold any longer so I went ahead and made some local orders. Currently I'll be running: 3 x Purple Orange CBD seeds by Dinafem - to make high CBD oil (will be referred to as P.O in this thread) 1 x Blue Kush by Dinafem ( will be referred to as B.K in this thread) 1 x Amherst Sour Diesel by Humboldt Seed Organisation (will be referred to as A.S.D in this thread) Once the other seeds arrive(hopefully), I'll be getting those going. The Environment Veg 150x150cm tent for 1st round of veg. 80x80cm tent thereafter Flower 150x150cm tent Current Situation All seeds successfully germinated in under 48 hours. The Purple Orange seeds all germinated in just a shade over 24 hours. 2 Purple Orange seeds went into the organic seedling mix. The other purple orange, the Blue Kush and the Sour Diesel went into a coco/perlite mix. I will be cloning later on, placing into the different mediums, so that the accurate comparisons can be made. The pots are currently in a cabinet under a LED for the germination stage, these will go in the tent soon so I can expose them to some air movement as soon as possible. They'll be starting under a 250w MH. Below is a shot of the pots this morning. As you can see the two P.O organic seedlings are starting to emerge. Those seeds were placed in their medium quite a while before the others as the seeds germinated sooner. I'll try keep this thread updated by the week, or as often as possible. Have a good weekend! Not everyone can go bashing holes into walls to install an aircon for a grow tent, those portable units work perfectly fine. I use one in my house and it keeps it cool.1 point

That depends on what the cops who raid your house think...put yourself in a cops shoes who is looking for any excuse to nail you for dealing... Here's what I personally think will sit well. If you're a recreational smoker then 6-10 plants at a time should be okay, in total. If you like your concentrates or need to grow for medicinal reasons (oil) and need to grow more than 10 then have proof of the oils you made before, equipment you use to make oil etc.... if you can show them how you use the plants and how you can't possibly be selling the plants then you should be fine. Store your bud in jars, not ziplock bags. Dont keep bank bags around. These raids are usually as a result of tipoffs. Keep your grow to yourself and you'll be good. If they do ever come knocking, be respectful and explain your personal use in a calm manner. They most likely wont even come inside1 point

My current grow is using 19.1 kw/units per 24h. I'm running 1000w(600w + 400w) lights in my flower tent and a 200w light in my veg tent. The fans are pulling 88w. You need to work out consumption in order to work out cost so the best thing to do is break your grow down to each piece of equipment that is using electricity and work from there: I'm gonna use my grow as an example here: Firstly it really helps to measure what each device is actually pulling and not go by the indicated wattage for the device i.e. a 600w HPS may use a little more than 600w, especially with magnetic ballasts. My 600W HPS and 400W HPS are collectively pulling a total of 1115w and not 1000W. If you have a prepaid meter it should be able to tell you the wattage being used in the house. An easy way to measure each devices true wattage is to have the device off, check the current wattage use in the house in the meter and note the amount, then turn the device on, note usage and work out the difference. Here's how to work out total consumption: The formula is : Device wattage X time(hours) device is on Flowering Lights: 1115w x 12 = 13 380 Veg Light: 200w x 18 = 3600 Fans(2 extractor fans and 2 oscillating Fans): 88w x 24 = 2112 We then add these totals together: 13 380 + 3600 + 2112 = 19 092 So that gives me 19 092 watts which is the total number of watts my grow uses every 24 hours. Or 19.1 kilowatts, or 19.1 units... whichever way you wanna look at it. To work out cost Formula: Total daily usage X Price per unit(kilowatt hour) Daily cost: 19.1 x R2.44 = R46.60 Monthly cost: 46.60 x 30 = R1398-00 Hope this helps1 point

You can have it at home, on your person and in your car without issue. What you are not able to do is use it in your car while driving on a public road. The judgement all revolves around privacy and not particularly weed itself. So basically to answer you in short, yes you can travel with it. I myself will be flying to JHB mid month and shall be packing some in my hand luggage. Sent from my ALE-L02 using Tapatalk1 point
