  1. Greenthumb Hydro has been kind enough to send me out a different unit. If you need any Gavita products you know where to go now, and which certain unnamed company to avoid. Yyyeeeeeee Sent from my G3312 using Tapatalk

  2. Are you running COBs or QBs? Looks like a 400nm colour range. You use that light for vegging only? Sent from my EVA-L09 using Tapatalk

  3. Hi all, Since this will be my first grow and I plan on mostly growing outdoors (when the seasons allow) I didn’t really want to spend money on a tent. I decided to build a cabinet with stuff I had lying around. The only thing I bought for this build is the light. It’s not quite done, I still need to build the doors, seal the joints, paint, tidy wiring and install ducting (which I’ll also have to buy). Size: 1m x 1.4m x 1.7m Construction: Steel angle iron (repurposed shelving), 3mm Masonite (white one side, left overs from kitchen redo, that’s what’s on the back of your cupboards), Active exhaust (6” bathroom ceiling fan, my wife complained it’s too loud for the bathroom), passive inlet (for now, I’ll see what the temps do), 600w HID light (magnetic ballast, outside cabinet), I reinforced the roof with a few planks so it doubles as extra storage space. I built it in an outside store room, the room has a corrugated roof with a ceiling and it’s shaded by a big tree. It’s always a bit cooler in there than anywhere else on the property. Let me know if you have any suggestions. This wasn’t supposed to be a stealth build, I know it looks suspicious af.

  4. I have been told, that using H2O2 will cause oxidation of THC to CBN.I am using H2O2 for PM on my indoor grow I have tried to research this, but have found nothing on it , and most people I have checked with say it not true Anyone know for sure ?

  5. Thanks, it's pretty ghetto at the moment and my aim is to write a very watered down version of the software to get it on a PI or some other controller. I would have liked to have gone the Atmel route but its just not powerful enough to interpret the data stream fast enough and do all the colour calculations.

  6. Agreed on gthydro; always had a good experience dealing with them. Gavita and otherwise.

  7. Awesome thanks for the informative reply, I'll definitely give that a go. Keen to LST this baby ASAP Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk

  8. @Slartibarfast it would be my guess that the lower temps are responsible for the slower growth. Indoors optimum temps (according to the internets) is around 27 degrees. Personally I like to make it a little bit hotter than that for some Indica strains. If you raise the temps the plant should use the water up a bit faster as well as evaporation will increase, growth will most likely speed up. Please remember to keep an eye on things if you make changes, usually best to heat up the ambient temps outside the box to avoid cooking them inside. Relative humidity might also go down so you might want to keep an eye on that depending on where you live and what strains you are growing. With HPS lighting we are always trying to cool things down!

  9. @Dank the speculation is that it is a form of stressing the plant 1 week before harvest you are trying to trick the plant into thinking it is dieing and activate its defenses and producing more resin

  10. If you're doing it as a hobby then you don't really need the quantum sensor, but if you need accurate results for a potential product then its invaluable.

  11. Cool, yeah i'm busy designing my own lightning system, hence my reason I got one. I also built my own color spectrometer that allows me to check the wavelengths. It seems relatively accurate if I compare it to a friends 25k one.

  12. @Slartibarfast , one thing I forgot to ask, are your temps lower than the previous grow? Temperature plays quite a big role in plant development, as well as extreme temp swings.

  13. Quick update: I was a bit busy this weekend. Not nearly done yet but it’s getting there. Like I said this is a Frankenstein build, the only stuff I bought is the light. Still need to build the door, seal the joints and paint. Light: 600w Lumii HPS (will get MH lamp) Extractor: 6” bathroom ceiling fan (ducting into roof space still needs to be done. Passive intake, 1m x 1.4m x 1.7m. I made the roof a bit stronger than needed for additional storage space. Excuse the mess, I still need to clean up the wiring etc (and the room)

  14. @Trailblazer420 I do sometimes wonder if it makes more sense to get a luxmeter and use a conversion factor to estimate pars, based on the cost of the quantum’s.

  15. I've got an old lux meter that I use. Probably not the best way to test anymore but it still gives me an idea of output Don't have too much faith in the mobile apps. Sent from my EVA-L09 using Tapatalk

  16. @Slartibarfast I have absolutely no experience with LED lighting, but as far as deficiencies go from that picture I wouldn't say so, even a nice little sheen on the leaves. Some plants are a bit slow out the gates and then get going, prob building that root system. Lets hear what some of the other members have to say, I am by no means a expert.

  17. Would love to be able to measure my lights intensity / efficiency but those meter are a bit much for just one or two readings... you guys should consider hiring out your meters

  18. Hi all, local grower and breeder here, I have been fortunate enough to travel and smoke some bud from all over the world. The best is always grown at home. :) Looking forward to hang out here at 420SA Here is a local mixed up with my Cookies

  19. Oops. I forgot to water or I waited like a day to long and got to my c99 and shes not happy. Leaves droopy and many just went kinda yellow over night. Granted I'm close to harvesting and have started clean water no nutes. Hope it doesn't mess with the final stretch too much I think theres about 2 weeks left. With that in mind I decided to try some photography using my phone and my loupe. Herewith my Girl Scout cookies close up.

  20. That's my biggest issue with this situation, is the entire complacency of Pat.

  21. @Pat999 please take my advice here. Make a noise. Go onto their Facebook page and leave a review about this experience. Even comment on their latest post. Things will start to happen trust me It's painful watching this go down. You have every right to make a noise about this. Right now they sit with 6k of your hard earned money and you have nothing to show for it. Tell Gavita about this as well

  24. Looks crazy, and been messing with some tasty strains. This is malawi x kush ( malawi gold OG ) with a trippy magic weed mantis that has been hanging around for free for about 4 weeks. This is in the pipe lately. Put some kush in it.
