So this is just to say hi... Still very new to growing my own and learing every day. Hope to learn some more around here. Currently have some Moby Dick and a bunch of randoms going. My reason for growing is to make oil for my wife that was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, so I have never smoked before. I'll give smoking a try once I take down my first own harvest. Cheers!! highjinx2 points

Thanks both. Reading up now. Im trying to see if the space is right before spending on tent and led and then finding it’s too hot or damp! I’m writing each morning the readings2 points

Hi again guys So I’m due to have seeds delivered this week. In terms of then what anyone got good advice!? I’m setting up a small 2 plant setup - fully for personal. My thoughts are 2 seedlings - one in each tent - one to grow through - one to then be mother questions: What’s best way of germinating / getting seeds growing? Led process / pot / timeline - what do I do!? am I over complicating and should just grow 2 to flower rather than a “mother” and 2 tent setup for personal?1 point

Howdy all, This will be my first grow so feel free to critique where necessary. Strains: HSO Amherst Sour Diesel, HSO Three Blue Kings I’m growing indoors in a DIY cabinet (check the cabinet thread for Frankenstein Build), I still have to build the doors but figured I have a day or two before they pop Light: 600w HID (Lumii Black) Medium: Freedom Farms Premium, I might switch to my own soil (Reaf’s Original Mix) later depending on the timing. The soil is still cooking. Nutrients: Not 100% sure yet but I’ll probably stick to Seagro, Nitrosol and AACT. I think that about covers it. Seeds have just been dropped into some shot glasses to soak and will then be going into some Jiffy pellets. Any words of advice is more than welcome! P.S. I absolutely love HSO’s packaging. That’s a little lazercut wooden block with a glass vial waxed in!1 point

Yeh no worries, a lot of things in this industry has been found out by guys experimenting. A real testament to what a versatile plant it is! If you are interested in preserving terpenes and if space is a issue, you can give freeze drying a try. little experiment im busy with. In the states they use expensive freeze dryers, that have a vacuum chamber, etc, to dry fresh plant matter, or resin heads collected via water extraction (bubble hash). Now you can do the same thing in your freezer, except it does not take 2 days, more like a few weeks, but the crazy thing is that it kind of works! Will tweak it a bit more, have only tested a very small batch, and also for drying bubble hash.1 point

Partly because I was just interested in the technique and wanted to try it out, and partly because I did not have a good place for a dry cure. This was my first ever grow so I was nervous to dry cure without having a better place to dry cure and ensure I did not get mold etc. But yeah, mainly just "because" (it was just a fun thing to try). No worries at all. I'm here to learn as much as possible, the more questions the better! I saw an article say that too, after I had already started. However I have not seen any real detail on that so I'm not sure how definitive that is. I'll need to read up so more. I think it worked out well enough for the cannabutter. I suspect I'll be dry curing from now on despite that. Overall I'm glad I tried something different/odd this stuff is fun :), but yes my next cure will be traditional. I've never looked into that. I'll read up. Thanks!1 point

Hi @Farmer Brown personally I like to build up my own living soils, in order to enrich them with micro-nutrients organically, by means of the compost and worm bin. I do a few other things but good composting will always reward growers. Here is a excellent thread on the forum from @Green Leaf Organics , Here is another nice article about the subject. nofa.org/soil/html/micronutrients.php1 point

Hi and welcome @highjinx I'm also fairly new to cannabis, but I'd 100% agree with @Dank there. Start really slowly otherwise you or your wife can end up having a bad experience and be scared off and end up missing out on the benefits. My wife takes cannabutter most days and that has worked really well for anxiety. You just need to start with a very low dose and slowly increase until you get the effect you want. Just remember with edibles it can take hours before you feel anything, so it is easy to over do it if you are not careful. Making your own oil/butter is quite easy and then you'll have a much better idea of how strong it is. Good luck, I hope your grow goes well1 point

Just like seedlings in a veggie garden, clones usually get hardened off to the humidity, temps and also light intensity. Going from a cfl to a hps can really stress a clone out, as well as going from high humidity to lower, etc. You can harden clones to the light and temps in a similar fashion. Expose them to the room that they will grow in for a hour or two, if the wilt before then move them back straight away. If they seem happy increase the time in the room the next day by a hour or two. You will notice your clones enjoying their new home more and more, usually 5 days to a week does the trick. Bear in mind I haven't grown much indoors in a while now so other growers can feel free to correct me!1 point

Perfectly normal on a reveg bud , it's also normal for the plant to look worse before it looks better as its having to pull resources from its self to make new roots1 point

Interesting thanks. I've been adding new clones so I've kept it closed the whole time. But yeah at least one of the clones did not look that great after planting in soil. I'm now letting them root under very weak lighting, I'll see if that helps1 point

Quick update on the water cure. I made cannabutter from it the other day. I usually mix water + coconut oil 1:1 so that the water will wash out the minerals, chlorophyll etc. In the past that water has always ended up quite green. With the water cured buds it was almost entirely clear even after 8 hours in the slow cooker. The final cannabutter has almost no taste at all. So if the taste bugs you in any way this is a great option IMO. (And there is barely any smell when smoked either, even less when vaped. Stealth weed! )1 point

The bubbler is way simpler and seems to be working very well. Its as ridiculously DIY as possible Small CFL light in ice cream container resting on the lid Two plastic containers of the same size make a good humidity dome Bottom one filled with water Fish tank air-stone + air-pump Fish tank heater at 21C Two ice-cream containers with holes cut in them floating in the water. I've used polystyrene to make plugs for the holes and hold the seedling stems. Stems are in the water. (I've seen it done both ways, in the water was simpler and seems to be working fine for me) I did end up using the ultrasonic mister, on for 15 mins every hour, to keep the humidity up. But I'm sure that misting by hand would work just as well My first 5 white widow clones from the bubbler about to be planted1 point

Hey bro, So my personal opinion, setup two tent's if you want a perpetual grow/harvest. You could germinate both seeds, and then make clones at a later stage for the second tent which is veg only, once you have decided on the size of your plants and are happy you can move them to the flower tent. For me personally, i tried germinating seeds by soaking in water, then the paper towel method. I wasn't able to spend enough time at home and as a result the paper towel dried and i lost about 4 seeds. If you have purchased seeds you know that's not a small loss. Anyway, moving on i planted the seeds directly into seedling mix from GTHydro, put the small pots into a humidity dome and left them for a few days, and had a 100% success rate on those seeds. so that now becomes my preferred germination method. Watch your plants as they grow, and as you notice developments on the plants, ask uncle G about what you are seeing, and research as much as you can, even ask questions on here. You will eventually get a feeling for when your plants need to be moved from pots etc.. Also, keep a grow diary of when you last watered/how much feed etc for your refrence down the line, also make sure you can identify which plant is which and when you do clone, which clones come from which mother's. All in all, have fun and learn, enjoy the journey.1 point

Side note: I will try describe strains as accurate as possible, bear in mind the original genes arrived at my door more than 8 years ago. I won't go WaltDisney yet and start calling every phenotype out of a cross something like "manderin zkittlez". Will leave that for the boys and girls that find those ELITE moms. I am always up for discussing genes of my crosses in more detail. This baby really surprised me, grown outdoors tastes like some damn potent indoor Chemdawg mixed up with fruits and sherbert. Posting this babygirl first. Grown by me outdoors, organically, harvested a tad early, perhaps a week or so, but super happy with her. Took the pic in the morning sun. BlueBerry Kush (Blueberry x Hindu Kush) x KushCookies (Afghani x GirlScoutCookies) - F1 OG tasting pheno. Edit: I realize my camera is not the best quality, will look to Wish perhaps for some HD cam so I can give better detail. Hope it gives a general idea. Ok the day calls! Take it easy SA, Big Up Yourself and your Crew them!1 point

@Dank the speculation is that it is a form of stressing the plant 1 week before harvest you are trying to trick the plant into thinking it is dieing and activate its defenses and producing more resin1 point

Yup explogrow. I inoculated them a few days ago with 6ml/L using it and then fed normal the last fed of a day or two ago and the next feed I'm doing more of the explogrow Sent from my G3312 using Tapatalk1 point

Hey man, after you placed your order you should have been taken to a page that says something like "your order was successfully placed" and their banking details would have been below that, no confirmation email. Go to their website, log in, go to Menu, My Account, Orders and make sure your order is listed there (status will be On Hold), note the order number as you need that for the reference number. I'll send you PM with their banking details although if I were you I would rather wait for them to respond as you should never just pay money into a account some random guy (me) message you1 point
