There is nothing silly about wanting to learn, and by describing your ideas, it might teach the rest of us that are also new to growing a lot. Before we end up here...2 points

It's fecking ridiculous!! There are people in jail and getting arrested on a daily basis, people with criminal records for a couple of seeds and homes being torn apart but these Wolves are setting aside land to do the same!! Walmart Weed, here we come!!2 points

Welcome to the 420SA forum, no need to feel silly, nobody was born walking let alone running. I have one question, does it have to hydro? In my experience hydroponics has quite a steep learning curve as to just growing some weed in a good soil mix under lights. The equipment is also usually a little bit more expensive when going hydro. This depends a lot from person to person as what works for one grower might not work for another grower, personally I am not too technically minded so the hydro equipment is not always my first choice, I also prefer a bud from organic soil to smoke. With that said, It is a lot easier to get started with hydro than it used to be, a lot of good suppliers making equipment and nutrients more available in SA. There are good hydro growers here on the forum that can will certainly help.1 point

Good Day I am so new to all this. Very excited to start the growing journey. Need quite a bit of advice thopugh if anyone is willing to help me. TIA1 point

This isbto big for your first grow. Start smaller? First enjoy a plant or two and work out your issues, you might get overwhelmed1 point

I'd love to try the soil, although shipping of soil just hikes the price up. Would rather go collect and purchase another bag or two. Will there ever be a collection option?1 point
-
Big corporate weed which will be shipped overseas. Quite annoying, rather let the local guys use the land and export it. We have farmers who are setting up, or have already set up, their big commercial grows and are getting contracts from pharma companies overseas.1 point

My veg girls just chilling away. I'll be taking a few clones here and from a few plants in the flowering tent atm Sent from my G3312 using Tapatalk1 point

This was it a few days ago. I did some LST, seems to have gone okay. I used tent pegs which seemed to have worked well Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk1 point

Now that the curing is coming on from my outdoor grow....I can't honestly say!! I don't weigh it, I just go from one strain to the next, adding a little kief or hash here and there to spice it up. Slim OCB's are always hanging out my mouth and my glassware is called on every few hours. I'd say about 8-10g/day at the moment MORE FIRE!!1 point

Okay i will type out my whole plan from start to end a little later today and then see where i am wrong and what needs to change. Sorry just nervous to look silly here. Thanks this already helps alot. Will put my whole plan up then maybe it will be easier to help me. Thanks alot for everything so far1 point

coco and soil are essentially identical, one has nutrients and the other does not.1 point

You're asking very open ended questions. What size pots do you plan to grow in?1 point

Plant looking much healthier, I have also read up that having a humidy between 45-55 is optimal for veg since when the plant is in a humid area, the plant will absorb water from the air through the leaves, this is not favoirable since you want nutrient uptake from the roots. Separately cultivated seeds. I also experienced no pollen drift and pretty sure it was me pollinating the neighborhood and not the other way round.1 point

Evening 420sa Our funky pheno yielded 48gr dried and trimmed. Some really dank fruity mango buds. Taste testing exceeded expectations. Lekker.... Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk1 point

All dried and ready for the cure. Both plants delivered in excess of 750g each. It has been a pleasure to bring you that are following this log. It is still frightening at times to post to a practically public platform a tiny piece of my passion for plants. I have however realised that as much as this log has been incriminating, it has also been an example of how benign it is to grow cannabis. None of my neighbors bled or died as a result of my plants. I breed pepper plants too and spend more time with them than any other species. The point is. Here it is...the seeds went into soak on the day the Constitutional Court made the verdict, and an entire baby later, yes almost 6 months of veg and just over 3 months of flower, I am consuming my own non criminal cannabis, and this log is proof of where my Cannabis has come from. Start a grow log. Not entirely for our benefit but for your own. This revolution has long gained traction but having a log like this one is powerful, factual evidence that you are growing your own Cannabis and you can fully account since seed/clone. But really...we have had to live in the dark with this forever...Let's show them how we do it like the productive normal people we are. To put costs of this grow into perspective. I spent a total of R200 on fertilizer. My soil mix cost me R400. Water was R30 x 9 months, so R180. For a total of under a grand spent, that works out to about R1 to R1,50 a gram. This changes everything. This improves my life. This, well this! That gives myself and my wife 2g a day until I can grow and harvest again 12 months from now.1 point

Some final push happening. Losing a bud here and there to bud rot, but she just needs a few more days. The cooler temps are bringing out her purple well. Happy easter everyone.1 point

The trick with outdoors is to have a huge variety of different plants. Then dont use any poison anywhere. As all the bugs move in the ecosystem reaches an equilibrium. And bugs are a lot less fond of Cannabis than you think but obviously they wont hesitate to go bos on your canna plants if they have nothing else to eat. I probably have a billion spider mites in the garden, but they are on everything except my cannabis. Outdoors, planting any pumpkin or melon just for the sake of having the plant and not necessarily for its fruit is far preferred by spider mites. Check out the pics below. My one plant is a meter away from the jelly melon. On the melon leaves are thousands of mites and mite carcasses. The carcasses tell me the predatory bugs are at work. If I now spray the melon and kill all the mites, then the predators will leave and search for food elsewhere. Once the balance is messed with pest epidemics usually follow. On the weed leaf. Negligable for a plant that has been outdoors since September.1 point

Compliments of the season. Getting ready for flowering. Well almost. The other two LSTs are doing great.1 point

So 3 months after soaking seed the girls look great. The first chocolope also had her top pulled down. She hit 1.8m and veg is just too long still for me to ignore. So instead of topping I decided on LST to keep the height in check although she still stands at 1.4m now. The other LSTs are going on just as well and are just shy of 1m tall. Catch you next week.1 point

Sup everybody. Weekly update. I am still in 2 minds whether I should top this one or not.... The LSTs are doing well... One of the LSTs are showing a bud on leaf mutation, so it will be an interesting one to watch.1 point

Update time. A week on and plants are getting into some serious veg now. Catch you next week.1 point

As another week passes I have decided to leave this female as is. I have always wanted to see this strain in open ground untouched and shes putting on a show for me. 8 weeks and 90cm and only alternating nodes now Also did a little LST on one of the other chocos this morning.1 point

Reasons... Lots of samples to test is one. Zero budget as you grow it , and zero sourcing. Then on the other hand to be able to smoke, do your job (watch plants) (talk rubbish) and not look over your shoulder is the biggest reason for large amounts. Throw a pool table into the mix... Such a win win situation1 point

I medicate in small amounts throughout the day. So im basically medicated all the time. In the morning when I get to work, I take a walk around the building to do a "Building inspection" after lunch, my after dinner mint, before supper my horderves and my nightcap when I fondle my ladies.1 point
-
Not such a crazy question ! I personally smoke around 10 g a day , but then I'm my own boss and when your whole life is involved in 420, its a perk of the job. Things can get out of hand when the 6 or so sample bags get put in your care to test.1 point
