  2. Daiquiri Lime is my 'control', to do a proper compare I need to leave one lady completely alone to compare against the other two I'm fiddling with. I know I'm already messing with the experiment by using three different strains, but let's not focus to much on that

  4. Heya! So as the title states, this is just another first grow. I'm sure you've all seen many of them. Lets start with some equipment and what I'll be growing and take it from there, obviously open to suggestions as I'm still learning. I don't have a grow tent unfortunately, growing in a storage room of sorts which I've painted flat white. Grow area is approx 110cm x 90cm at a push. I have 4x 288 Quantum Boards in 3000k setup in here, currently running 2 off an ELG-240-54A while I wait for my HLG-480-54A. No extraction or air intake at the moment. Trying to seal up and prevent light leaks and shall be trying to complete this tomorrow. Currently lights are off at night to prevent light leak issues. I have my humidity dome in here too and have a heating pad underneath it as it's very cold. I have added a heater to the grow area today and it seems to be making a decent difference in terms of temps, increased from 17C to 23C. I have a fan inside to circulate the air. RH is on the low side at 36-40% RH so might look at adding my humidifier into the area, not sure how to control the RH with it just yet as I don't have any electronics to assist at the moment. I'm using Freedom Farms soil, Biobizz nutes (fish mix & bloom) & have a mixture of pots but plan on using 20L fabric pots in the end. Currently have 2 bagseed seedlings in there with 13 seeds germinating as per the below: 3x Chocolope (Totemic Genetics) 3x Bruce Banner 3 (Dark Star Genetics) 3x Grandpa Banner (Dark Star Genetics) 3x Sticky Icky (Dark Star Genetics) 1x CBD Critical Mass (Seedsman) All are regular seeds except for the CBD strain which is feminised. I'm hoping not all 12 seeds are female as I don't have space, however I'd like at least 1 female from each. One of my bag seed seedlings might not make it, still busy monitoring it. Before my lights arrived I had to put them outside for some natural sun and my cat seems to really like the FF soil and dug up the seedling, twice. Prior to that she dug up my 3rd seedling and peed in that pot, the seedling died... Not sure if I can just flush the soil with water and reuse it? The stem of the dug up seedling is very thin in one area but still seems to be alive so hopefully it pulls through. Not much in terms of pics at the moment as I've been busy putting my room together and am still busy with that. Although here are the seeds in some rapid rooters and in the humidity dome. I broke off a piece of the rapid rooter and put it inside the hole to try keep the seeds dark and covered. The seeds were soaked for around 22 hours before being placed into the rapid rooters with the exception of the cbd strain which was soaked for closer to 28 hours and was only put into the rapid rooter today. So it's a day behind the rest. Really hoping the seeds germinate in the rapid rooters without issues. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  6. Thanks man, surviving despite me! Doing a bit of leaf tucking and stem pinching to expose the developing areas. I know, I do have a 100x100x200cm tent I bought and haven't opened, still unsure how far I want to go with this lil hobby. Kind of spent more money than I can afford! Although if I switch to photos, I can use the smaller tent for veg and larger for flower, get a perpetual deal going on. Perhaps that would pay for itself over the years.

  8. @Dank defs seen strain hunters! havent seen the swazi ep though. my thoughts exactly, rather than growing out 1000s of plants let the breeders do the tedious work. I'm thinking now after your comments, a Kilimanjaro x DP could be a good start. always keen for beans! I'll start my research on this now, when i get some beans & good males i'll send you some pollen! I was originally looking for rooibard tbh, but i cant seem to find anything legit at all

  9. I bought a few 3L screw top Consol jars. Works well and it's super cheap. Picked them up for R35.00 each. Not sure if i'm gonna "mod" it with the hygrometer in the lid. I prefer mine at the below the bud, boveda on top.

  10. Well, I read a few reviews on curing jars and seems if you want it, you hafe to pay for it.. big time. The thing is... wat do a personal user want and? What is your need and what are you willing to spend... Me, I want to know I'm not loosing anny of the good stuff by jars that do not seal tight ext ext.. Below coppied from SA Stoners web site as reference. Ultimate Jar Showdown: CVault VS Mypharmjar VS Consol Submitted by SAStoners.com on Wed, 04/24/2019 - 13:38 Growing Weed I have been a bit of a jar-nut of late, trying to find the best way to cure my buds! In an effort to find the best jar, I have actually ended up using 3 different types which I am going to discuss in this post. Most of these jars are a bit pricey, but the price is very much justified. 0. Consol Jar The Consol jars are very affordable. You are looking at spending about R50 per 1-liter jar and they can certainly do the job. However, I have found that unless you screw these really tight, they aren't as airtight as the other containers. Then to open them after screwing them so tightly can be difficult! The Consol jars are see-through, which means light can come in. Not the end of the world if you can keep your jars in a cupboard, but certainly not ideal if you are going to be keeping the jars somewhere where light may shine on it. Try to avoid this in general, because light will degrade your stash. If you are looking for the most affordable jar that can still get the curing done, this is the jar for you. 1. CVault I recently did a thorough review of this awesome container and I can certainly say it has significant advantages over the Consol Jar. The CVault is stainless steel, which not only means that it is more durable than it's glass competitor, but it also keeps out the sunlight! The CVault is also significantly more airtight. I immediately noticed a decrease in the humidity on my hygrometer, which I didn't see often with the Consol jars. 2. Mypharmjar Tall Jar with Sensor The built-in hygrometer and thermometer is a huge plus and the Mypharmjar is also light-proof. But it does not have a spot for humidity packs. You can easily throw the humidity packs in with your buds, but I quite like that the CVault has a spot specifically for this. The other downside is also the shape. The CVault is more open and easier to get to your buds. The tall shape of the MyPharmJar makes it difficult to reach all the way to the bottom. But with the built-in hygrometer, you have the benefit of not having to add a hygrometer yourself! So which one is the best? This table should make it easy to decide: Consol Jar CVault MyPharmJar Price for 1 Liter R 59 R 700 R 700 Airtight 3/5 5/5 5/5 Light Resistant 0% 100% 100% Shape Long and Tall / Semi-cramped Long adn Tall / Cramped Wide and Spacious Material Glass Stainless Steel 100% Biophotonic Miron Glass Durability 1/5 5/5 3/5 Built-in Hygrometer No No Yes Built-in Thermometer No No Yes Humidity Pack Slot No Yes No Hope its ok to use your info @SAStoner Not much choice.. in the lower end of the scale. So what about the consol jar with a hygrometer..? Any other you personal growers use or prefer? Please share.

  12. I plan on using console jars and adding the hygrometer myself to the lids with some food grade silicone. Will add a Boveda as well to the jars. The cvaults and such are just too expensive if you're harvesting a lot of bud. I'm thinking the Console canning jars. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
