  1. Thank you for the feedback @Dank and @PsyCLown. The seedling were inoculated with a Live Microbial Bio-Firtelizer called ExploGrow on week 3. Today it's been 5 weeks since germination and the ladies look well on their way, this is a picture I took yesterday of the fan leaves that the CBD Crack Auto is pushing out: Will get some proper pictures of the others also as things are moving very fast now.

  5. So I repotted the seedlings and so far all is looking good. Im starting to struggle with space and the limit of power I have for the LED's is not helping at the moment. I've topped (or tried to) the bagseed plant to see what happens. Not sure what more to do regarding LST on the bagseed plant, I'll watch more videos and see what's best to do. Below are the plants which are growing faster, except Choc #2 - the slowest out of all the plants. Took forever to germinate and become a seedling: Here we have the rest of the plants, which are a bit slower: The bag seed plant, which I am using to experiment with: Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  7. I read you must not do this as the food can become depleted and you end up with a monoculture and just adding more food doesn't yield the desired results. So best to mix a new batch of tea before you need to use it. I think most people do 24-36 hours of brew time. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  8. My last auto was a Blue Cheese from Nirvana Seeds and it also only started showing signs of flower 7 weeks in, was also a bit concerned but now after 13 weeks things are fine. The timelines the seed banks give on their website for veg and flower of a auto is very optimistic and I found that mine is always off with about 2 to 4 weeks. I means my Blue Cheese Auto according to the website should be 9 to 10 weeks from seed to flower, I'm in week 13 and she still has some ripening up to do...

  9. I'll defs look into it with the chocolope grow. My plants never seem to have an issue until mid/late flower. Maybe its compounded after time??

  10. Sup Psy, the 4000k can be used for the first part of "flowering" as it transitions. I think Growopz had a long holiday and decided to keep it with those boards till he got back. He did say he's changing the light for the last half of flowering which is the time the buds really start to fatten up. Sent from my G3312 using Tapatalk

  12. The idea behind breeders sending out tester seeds to forum members is not a new one, it is how I got started getting some decent genetics back in the day, on International forums. Breeders send out free tester seeds of their breeding to get a better understanding of the results. The more plants we as breeders can see get grown out, the better we can understand our strains and get valuable feedback from community members. For the early days I think it could work like this: Breeders can let me know about any potential seed drops that they are planning, this is just a formality, after this I will give you the thumbs up to post about your "new drop" of seeds, post will then get stickied here until all available testers are sent out. The breeder agrees to send the beans free of charge to the tester, the breeder can pay for courier or arrange with the tester to pay the shipping fees, whichever way they decide. The reason for this being that we do not sell any Cannabis seeds here in the group, for now at least, until laws are in place. The tester agrees to do a grow diary here on the 420SA forum under the https://www.420sa.co.za/index.php?/forum/92-local-genetics/ section in the main forum. This will help showcase the breeders work grown by different individuals using different techniques of growing. Some testers might decide to just take the seeds and not bother with doing a diary, if this is the case, breeders can decide whether or not to send them free tester seeds again. Diaries do not have to be updated every week, but a start to finish grow with at least all growth phases. Testers that keep their diaries updated more regularly (like once a week or more) will be favored by the breeders. THE BREEDERS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DECIDE WHO THEY SEND SEEDS TOO. That is the final rule set to ensure nobody tries to exploit breeders here on the 420SA forum. If a breeder is not sending you tester seeds, consider becoming a real part of the community and I am sure your luck will change. Keep breeding and growing 420SA! PS - Any ideas, advice or potential problems feel free to discuss it here on this thread. Ready to start rolling out some testers slowly slowly. Also running this past you @420SA , just jotted down what I was thinking, will update and edit as necessary.

  13. I've got a little jungle going for my personal grow, about 4 weeks into flower. It's all drip fed on a timer, at about 1.2 EC, and 6.4 pH. Been away and haven't trained it at all, except for a few supercroppings before going away. Aurora Indica, GG#4, and "Bob Marley", under 180W of 4000K QBs. I'd like to up the lighting now, for the second half of flowering. Wondering how crazy to go with defoliation, and whether it might be a better idea to skip defoliation on the lower branches and instead add side lighting around the perimeter? Or, defoliate AND side light? Anyone have experience with side lighting? I've only done it in bucket grows. Not sure of the value of light hitting underside of leaves, and whether red would be best, or white. And defoliation, still a good idea at week 4 of flower? Thanks

  14. Took a few fresh pictures tonight and fiddled with the ladies a bit... CBD Crack Auto - I took off the bottom two branches so ending up with the branches from node 2 and 3, the idea is to bend them horizontal and wait for 3 nodes and then keep node 1 and 3. Fastberry Auto - Keeping to the bending theme I'm pinning the main cola down and horizontal, will see what the cola does, but if it gets to long I'm going to spiral it a bit... Daiquiri Lime Auto - Stock standard, no training. Let see what the week bring, hopefully not PM

  15. I'm here to do one of those things they call an update, so with my flowering girls getting a feed tonight and getting some explogrow for going into the stretch I thought I'd snap a few photos. I've tied the Strawberry Amnesia and DC OG tighter and closer to the middle so its not super wide and taking up a bit of space. I'm giving them about 2 weeks from the first pistils then they'll get a defol again. My clones are also making an appearance for the first time, I think. LoL they are all looking decent imo, might lose one or two but so far so good. Pielle uit ouens!!! Leeuloop Sent from my G3312 using Tapatalk

  18. Agree 100%... That is my usual method... Small batch brews as I need it.. The vortex systems iv seen are generally way more than I would typically use at a time, which is why I asked my question Edit - I brew for 48 hours, no more and no less... Depending on what kind of tea you are meking, fungi dominant or bacteria dominant depends on the length of time you brew for, at the right temp(iv found 25° is good for me) Fungi teas don't need a long brew time, but the bacteria need a 48 brew to fully chow the food you gave them, and multiply. Edit 2 - if there is too much food still in the tea when you are finished brewing it, the microbes will be more inclined to eat the easy to eat food you give them, over the problems in your root zone that you are trying to fix... They will eat the problems... But will favour the food you give them until they are forced to eat the problems to survive... So your tea might take a couple of extra days before you see the results you want to see. It has never taken more than 3 days for my teas to work and see healthy new root growth

  19. I think this strain does have a bit of purple in it, so it makes sense for the veins. The stems are a little purple though, but it was like that from sprout already. Yip, I am growing a Carolina Reaper next to it Should I take any caution? I fully agree, my last auto I ordered online was about a month off from the indicated time to harvest. Thanks for all the input guys

  20. According to Microbe Organics yes. According to him the dissolved oxygen is almost 10 times that of what you get from airstones. The constant circulation of the water does seem to support that I reckon. Plus you have to consider the gunk that forms on airstones during the brewing process which I'm sure reduces their efficiency as you progress through the brew

  26. This is the Charlotte’s Angel CBD strain. Pretty much watering it and feeding it the same as my last Auto. Hoping it isn't a deficiency, I'm feeding it using the preflower recommendation for soil with the GHE products. The water PH is good from I've checked. Thanks for the suggestions :D Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk

  27. @Slartibarfast she is looking nice! Is this auto the exact same strain as the previous grow? Also have you been feeding her, could be that she is a heavy feeder/not a heavy feeder, or perhaps soil is a just bit different, there are so many variables in a grow. Even seeds from the same strains do not usually perform exactly the same as their siblings. I see there is purple down the veins of some of the leaves, if this is not a signature of the strain I would guess your soil has a bit too many metals, perhaps Iron, or the PH is just such that the metals are being absorbed by the plant. (This is just a maybe, rarely happens)

  29. Hi @growopz , growing outside I usually defoliate quite a bit of the older fan leaves as they lose some luster, depending on the strain I could remove up to 60%-70% of the bottom 2/3 (fan leaves) by harvest time. Outdoors this helps a lot with the PM, and getting those popcorn nuggies to get phat. Indoors I usually go bare bottom (no leaves or growth) below the screen, then some defoliation through flowering, mostly to remove yellowing fans, or to get light on a shaded bud. Side lighting should increase the lumens and production I would say, ofc considering the direct heat on the plants. I am a LED noob so I am not sure how close or far lights need to be, growers in Canada love using side lighting (sommer HPS) in their massive grow rooms. Here is a excerpt from 420Magazine posted by Weaselcracker , he is quite experienced with it. "As for defoliation- I think first we would have to define it. The term could cover a pretty large range of practices. Usually I think of it as -major stripping of leaves to ‘increase yield’. Some people go around constantly pulling off fan leaves Almost all people do some amount of thinning and trimming. In general sativas seem to dislike getting tortured in flower. Sometimes that’s a good thing when you’re trying to slow them down. Most people doing a lot of defoliation and getting away with it seem to be doing it to heavy indica strains."

  30. I've also been there, didn't measure pH at all didn't keep my pH pen up to scratch. Didn't work out that well for me, keep the pen calibrated and get it in the right pH range. I go in at 5.3-5.8 and also in FF soil, I mix up my nutes in the batch and then pH it. Sent from my G3312 using Tapatalk

  38. Not quite a weekly update but here goes: I’ve decided to mainline these ladies as per the Nugbuckets tutorial (can’t remember the forum I found that on). The idea is basically to top your plant a number of times, each time effectively doubling your main colas, and removing practically all other growth. The ASD has currently been topped once (2 colas) and the TBK twice (4 colas). They’ve also both received their first nutes a few days ago (1/4 recommended dose) and seem to be responding well.

  39. So here we are, you know, sitting again. Officially day 1 of 12/12, with my girls just before the lights come on now at 6pm. I'll give it a few more weeks and see what else I'd need to defoliate but for now they seem good Sent from my G3312 using Tapatalk

  43. I only defoliate the bottom 40cm once in flower. not sure if u wanna defoliate anything at the top with LED lighting. Also it looks Sativa dominant they tend to have more space btw the leaves and branches.

  44. Sorry for the late update! It’s been about 3.5 weeks since I’ve dropped the seeds in some water and I think they’re doing well. The ASD is growing quite a bit slower than the TBK, even taking the day later germination into account. TBK (right) was transplanted 5 days ago, ASD (left) two days ago. Still no nutes as they don’t seem to need it yet but let me know if I’m missing something.

  45. Does seem to be growing faster but not as fast as my last Auto. Thanks for the tips, my light is set to 20:4 at the moment. Pistils have started over the weekend. Right you are about the 7 weeks in. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk

  46. has the plant started showing sex(pistils)? strange that it hasnt started flowering yet if its an auto, you're at about 7 weeks in? u might have a photoperiod. I would run the lights at 18/6, photos need downtime. I would also raise the light a bit more, get the plant to stretch away from the pot - this will help a lot in flowering for access to both the medium & buds

  47. Where to start...? Left them out in the sun as I normally do when there is some...got on with some other chores....aaaand the fukn neighbors cat got hold of them and tipped over all 4 pots! FFS! Lost one seedling a days later the other looks a bit sketchy and 2 of them looks like its on recovery path and starting to veg
