Transplants done, using new plantmatters 22L's I much prefer these dimensions than those of FF, they are not as wide but are taller which means more can be squeezed into a small space Also using newly obtained OM soil. Will be topping in a day or two after transplant shock wares off. Root zone of one plant:4 points

So iv had quite a change of habits over the last few months... I had lost my growing vigor and had mostly left everything to do whatever the hell it wanted to do... And for the most part, I needed to really put in a ton of work to get everything back to a semi structured and functional grow space. The reason I tell you this is because one of the pleasant surprises I had was garage spiders made themselves comfortable in my area and I had a rapid decline in all my pests... At a stage I had mites, thrips, white fly, and PM... And all of that went away when I left the spiders to do their thing... So I'm not telling you to be a dirty cunt and never clean your grow space... Just know the difference between the good spiders, and the pesky mites, and maybe clean around the webs they make and leave them be for the most part... I know it's completely against what you are used to, but hey, you are trying to replicate nature... And there are spiders around the garden doing a good job at keeping pests low... That way you won't need to fork out on IPM as much too. Food for thought3 points

I find buying and collecting seeds is very addictive, like catching Pokemon, gotta catch them all2 points

Nah, I'm not gonna do it hey. I'm lazy man. Hahaha! But i know it'll work coz I've seen my mate kill baddies in the tanks he has plant life and frogs in. You can actually see the C02 make like a mist at the bottom of the tank.2 points

Just vacuum as many off as you can and enjoy the extra protein lol learn the lesson and move on . It's still going to be an awesome smoke2 points
-
Luckily its just one plant. Sit down with the plant and try and examine as many leaves as you can. As GLO says it really wont hurt you if there's a mite or few in your smoke you wont know any better. Plus they tend to somehow bugger off or fall off during the drying process. Chances are you've smoked a shit load of mites in your life anyways lol considering you havent always been growing your own bud2 points
-
At this stage anything you spray on you will smoke , you could spray H2O2 and slow them down but risk rot because you sprayed at this stage . Almost everything will leave a residue so I reccomend getting in there by hand and or a vacuum and removing as many as you can . I will be roasted for this but honestly it wont hurt you to smoke a mite , a residue will be a lot worse for you2 points

I've done a few grows with 2 x CXB3590's running at 50w each. Pulled over 1g per watt with 1 grow. It all comes down to training in your space. There are grow diaries you can check out, Exodus haze by kaliman seeds, Blue dream from clone and Peppermint Kush by barneys farm. What you get out of it at the end of the day depends on you as the grower. Select the right training for your space and you can get pretty decent yields. My yields weren't very consistant, but that's coz i tried different styles and mediums with each grow. Also take into consideration temperatures. LED's don't throw alot of heat into your grow area. Growing in cooler ambient temps (autumn, winter) will throw your yield out.2 points

@Pat999 money well spent, ek galla Gravitas! Btw I hear the girls are now strictly getting "into" "grower dudes", heard it from a legit source!2 points

Sorry for not replying sooner. Yes magnetic's show that flicker on camera's etc. Has something to do with the frequency the ballasts run at. Has no negative effect on the plants.2 points

Plants vegging real good no complaints. Had to lift the lights a bit more as the front 2 has some leaf curl but they looking lush2 points

So curiosity bit me and VERY fascinated by these plants when flowering and thought I'd give it a very cheap go! Bare in mind I'm not a pro or as well prepared as most guys here so here goes... Bought some cheap potting soil, compost, vermiculite and Nitrosol and started germination process Mixed the compost 40% Soil 40% and vermiculite 20% Put germinated seeds in 1kg Stork butter tubs They get sunlight when available during the day and will go under lights in a little makeshift growbox until strong enough to transplant to bigger 10L pts. progress up to now is going ok and I don't know what strand they are as I got them and was simply told its outdoor These looks like two different strands as 2 more leggy ones was germinated a week later but has longer stems than the others... The smaller ones sprouted 22 May so 7 days ol The leggy ones sprouted yesterday morning1 point

Thread restarted as it became polluted with derailments. Seeds started off as: After a few days: Which brings us to their current state:1 point

I've been battling spider mites since November last year. I haven't been able to get rid of them entirely ever since. When I think I've cleared them out they show up again. It never becomes a plague but they never disappear either. They really are cunts! I'm sure it's down to heavy foot traffic in my garage which is where my tents are. It's impossible to keep it as clean as it should be.... Try and be mindful of where you were before you enter your grow area. Change shoes and clothes if necessary. Once that finished plant is out of there maybe do a spray with neem once a week for 3 or 4 weeks just to make sure that any possible spread can be prevented1 point

Soap bar size stones... They do float... Until water gets in... Then it sinks and stays sunk, iv never had any get tangled in my roots before. So I would have them in my fresh water res that I use to water my resies or top up with... And when I need them I reach in and grip one.. Best is using them in my AACT... Once the brew is done I put them in various res buckets that need a tea top up. Not more than 3 in a res, depending on how many airstones I have going.. My water Temps were going down below 10, so I used a heater... Growth has been better since then.. More constant.1 point
-
@CreX Thanks fellow grower! You just put 20 pumice stones floating in the res? guess it's not the small ones? Don't they get entangled into the roots? Two weeks ago I put a 25w heater in my flowering res, not much difference, my two veg res have no heating and seem to grow like animals!1 point
-
Nice diary man! My 2c about the damn airstones that float haha! I bought pumice stones... Like 20... And use them in my res... 1)microbes loooove them... 2)They weigh the airstone down 3)i use them as inoculates to other res buckets I don't like airstones that have plastic housing... I mean... I love them because they last and last... But damnit they float!! I like the ones that look like a ball, they don't float and don't split.. Never get the flat ones as they split like a clam after one grow And did you come right with the fishtank heaters bru? They defs make a welcome difference!1 point

I stand to be corrected, although generally you will get better yields (Grams per Watt) from LED compared to Metal Halides and such. So in a sense, more efficient.1 point

Just some extra protein in your smoke not much you can do at this stage , remove as much as you can by hand1 point

Awe guys, my GG is due for chopping and I've been hit by fucking spider mites. It's not a full on infestation, but they're there. Only on the very bottom leaves are affected. No webs yet, but the leaves are spotty and i could check the varke with the loupe. I've plucked the leaves off, but I still wanna get the rest before harvest. That's most likely happening this Sunday or shortly after. I'm not really keen on the milk spray and I also don't really wanna wash my buds coz of high humidity. Any pointers? I have hydrogen peroxide 50% from the hortishop. Also, is there a shelf life on H202? I have it about 2-3 years. Was stored in the dark.1 point

Haha, it can become very technical. COB's and Quantum Boards both work well, I am personally using Quantum Board LED's.1 point

I will be making clones. So will keep her around for a while. Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk1 point

Cobs give great yields. Especially if you only want to grow one or 2 plants. Below is an example of an cupboard grow. 2x CBX3590 cobs with passive heatsinks. Couple of fans. Only growing autos thus running the lights for 18 hours a day. Cost R250-300 a month. If you work it right you can harvest one plant a month for the rest of your life. 50-60 grams per plant. HID will give you better 'bag appeal', but the full Spectrum LEDs seem to be doing their thig. Buds are big enough, plants seem more dense and quality is excellent. Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk1 point

-
The formula was posted for me in another thread, I will paste it for you here. Thanks @Kgrows you can use the formula for diluting anything thats a bit tricky: Using C1V1 = C2V2 To make a fixed amount of a dilute solution from a stock solution, you can use the formula: C1V1 = C2V2 where: V1 = Volume of stock solution needed to make the new solution C1 = Concentration of stock solution V2 = Final volume of new solution C2 = Final concentration of new solution So lets say you want 3%(C2) final concentration & 1000ml (V2)of the final solution You have 12% H2O2 (C1) So: 12 x V1 = 3 x 1000 12 x V1 = 3000 V1 = 3000/12 V1 = 250ml IMPORTANT STEP: V2-V1 = water volume 1000 - 250 = 750ml So to get 1L of 3% H202 solution you need to add 250ml of 12% H2O2 to 750ml water1 point

Thanks man When I started getting equipment about 10 months ago I could not decide which lights I wanted. The spectrum of CMH really attracted me but I was also very interested in quantum boards. Now I have both, super stoked to see what will happen with the extra lights now. My friend built the aluminium frame for me it basically clips on to the cmh hood so I can adjust all the lights with only 2 rollers Past few days was very cold but I stay under 26 degrees1 point

So far those 10 branches yielded 350g dried very tasty lemon taste The buds could have been denser but I know what my soil need I still have a lot to take from her1 point

I'm using Freedom Farms premium soil. Organic is better. Tastier flowers, no need to worry about pH. Feed the soil, not the plant. LOL, i only read what's on this site bruv. Just remember, happy microbes is what you're going for.1 point

the somber day has come where i need to take a life slowly and painfully chopping of limbs over a week or so i have dawned my ritual murder garbs and had a healthy vegan biltong snack its been a long journey 8 months of which was 16 weeks was flowering i gave it sea grow twice i think during veg and during flower i only gave it seed sprout tea made from popcorn seeds and mung bean every week and a half and skipped when it rained i dont know how i only got one vote in the plant of the month comp because i think a 3.5m tree is quite impressive but lets wait to see the yield1 point

@PsyCLown Hi PsyClown, I’m in PTA so similar environment. My germination process (100% success (ie 2 out of 2 )): I soaked my seeds for twelve hours, thereafter I planted them in Jiffy Pellets with a humidity dome and removed the dome as soon as they sprouted. I kept the pellets moist at all times by placing them in a pot tray with a bit of water once a day for about two minutes. The pellet soaks up however much water it needs. Once the first roots poked out the bottom they got transplanted into small pots. That’s pretty much where I am now and they seem to be doing well.1 point

Flowering time starts now. Those plants will be harvested before the beginning of winter. In 3 months from now SA is literally going to be overflowing with skyf.1 point
