@highchome usually growers would use a complete nutrient solution, ie, part 1, 2, 3 or veg and bloom, etc for hydroponic or semi hydro grows. Didnt catch the coco/perlite part, yeh that is hydro, the nutes he has there could be good for veg, not sure about flowering.2 points

I find buying and collecting seeds is very addictive, like catching Pokemon, gotta catch them all2 points

Hi, Have joined SA420 and support local in these exciting times. I only run a flower room (3 x 3) and flower 3 x a year. I use the flower room to veg acquired clones, flower.....then use the room for drying/cure and trimming.......major clean up and then start all over again.........building on any previous mistakes....lol. Set up is 12 x CMH 315, 60 x 6 liter pots, coco, scrog and drip to waste watering. Look forward to interacting with members.1 point

Organic nutrient is chelated by bacteria and fungi so that the plant can take it up and use it. The plant produces sugars for the micro organisms. And these sugars are excreted/secreted by the roots of the plant. Thus is is important to have the correct micro organism blend in your soil so that they will help your plant grow faster and better and produce more. Growing with inorganic salts hydroponic style of growing. You use chelated salts and create a high osmotic pressure. High pressure on the outside of the roots where your water is. This forces the plant to take up Nutrients (osmotic pressure is lower inside the roots thus your salts/nutrients will move from a higher pressure to a lower pressure). The higher salt content in your grow medium will usually kill micro organisms. This is why you have to inoculate your medium constantly when feeding inorganic nitrients, even in soil. So yes nitrogen is nitrogen but some nitrogen sources will kill your micro organisms in your soil. And others will not. It is up to the grower to decide which method of growing to use. Natural better? Hydroponic more control? Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk1 point

I got this one for pH: https://www.takealot.com/portable-digital-ph-pen-meter-tester-pool-aquarium/PLID48545959 But you'll need to calibrate it weekly. So worth getting a pH 4.0 calibration mix, as well a "storage solution". As for TDS I'd still recommend an EC meter over a TDS one. The one I linked to does TDS as well so you are covered both ways with it. I wasted money on a TDS meter (that then broke), I should just have got the EC one to start with1 point

I've mostly seen the coco guys advising to keep the nutrients the same for all feeds. But the great thing about growing in coco is that if this does not work for you, then you can change how you do things and see results very quickly1 point

Chamdog as well. These guys are a joke. What is the quality of the bud like? Are they at least free of seeds?1 point

Just checked the new pictures you posted. Does look a lot like a Calcium or Calcium + Magnesium deficiency, and showing up on the older leaves. Does the FF soil mention if it contains CalMg, I have never used it so I dont really know the mix. Is over watering perhaps a issue, damaged roots can also cause temporary issues with nutrient uptake. If not maybe it is just some CalMg def like you mentioned at the start. The older leaves will most likely not recover fully so keep an eye on new growth and newer fan leaves. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, let us know how it goes!1 point

That's me to a T! I literally spend my days using every opportunity to think about my grow and how to improve and what to buy next hahaha!! Damn money constraints... I could easily be the happiest man alive if my job was to grow weed1 point

Yea I did... It was nice... Just a small handful of stalls, but the people were friendly. Growbudz was there, hydro herb Africa, bobbygreenhash... Those were the recognized brands... The rest were edible stores... Which in my opinion weren't anywhere near as strong as I had hoped for the price we paid, needed to come home and make a trim extract to finally get fucked up hahaha I got there early, and my gf arrived early, so I have 2 fem white widow beans that I'm gonna plant tonight which is gonna be fun1 point

So a canapax opened in my town and they are not crazy with prices But I have to say I can't believe that they have a woman who did a traditional healer course and she can give you a "prescription" a bunch of bullshit And the owner said that he spent 50000 to get the "paperwork"1 point

I have used Trophy Seeds and Sacred Seeds in the past and service was excellent. Let us know what you looking for maybe someone has a couple of beans laying around willing to part with them.1 point

Hey Acid Alice Don't know if you have these. Accordingly, looks like P, Mg or Boron. Leaves also lookin very dark green like too much Nitrogen. What medium, grow condition, plant age/stage. Could it be a deficiency(shortage) or toxicity(too much) or a lockout? Difficult to diagnose like this. Let some of the other growers also share their opions. This thing blows less than a fart. It also "broke" in the 1st month of use. Don't know what happened, woke up and it was off, will not switch back on. https://growguru.co.za/collections/environment-management/products/in-line-duct-fan-td-silent1 point

So I bought a H&M PH80 from Futurama and got it in less than 48hrs. The unit died after just more than 6 months. I mailed them asked if it's under warranty, they sent a courier to collect and after checking with the agents a new unit shipped today. It took about 3 weeks not due to their delay due to the agents. They found corrosion in the batteries. So good work from them I will gladly use Futurama in future1 point

Less haste, less speed... Getting this done the fastest is not ever the right way. Yes you need to get the break repaired sooner rather than later.. But way more damage can be done in haste, than can be repaired by the plant in time... So take it easy The split or break is likely very unused to being in the open air and will need to be the first point of focus... Smear honey into the break and apply kelpak aswell... Next is to try bring the break back to where the stem is, and hold it there. I have found that a stiff wire works best for this task, because there is no stretch in it like string or shoelaces have. Twist the wire around a branch that is not broken and can support the broken branch, pull the broken branch up to close the split, honey and kelpak should be coming out the sides, and then tie the branch so it does not separate away from the split when you let go. Additional splints might be necessary, or you might need to hold the plant up with straps, possibly to the light fitting. Alternatively you could place something underneath the branch to hold it up. Now, if you managed to close the gap, and support the plant, you should be good to go.. All that's left for you to do is LEAVE THE PLANT THE EFF ALONE!!! She needs time to heal, and her moving around or even too much moving air can hinder its healing and prolong healing time. After a few weeks you could take the braces off and remove the wires and such... But I don't, I leave it until harvest to not tempt the break to rebreak. And that's it... Shit Happens... But as lo g as you have a plan and the kit on hand, you will be okay1 point

For the same reason humans keep a first aid kit, typically in an easy to remember location and in kit form not bits and bobs, Is the same reason you should be keeping a plant aid kit handy. I have a few things in my kit that I want to share with you. Honey! Not the sulphated kind... Fresh from the bees kind... It is a bit more expensive, but it has the goodness and healing capabilities that sulphated honey just does not have! Kelpak - reduces plant shock and can be applied directly to the wound like mercurochrome Twisty ties, shoelaces, string, bra straps... The list is endless.. You need to be able to hold the plant somehow, create a splint or a brace or wires to the light... If you have those in an easy to find location, you should be able to repair her without too much trouble.1 point

Growing is DIK addictive! I spent about two hours the other night “planning” my next Season...and that was just deciding what Seeds to pop! I certainly think so, more so than the cannabis itself! It's a fun hobby, perhaps with time I may tired of it as it becomes more of a hassle than a fun activity - we shall see and only time will tell. For now it is fun, keeping me busy (perhaps too much) and certainly draining my money.1 point

Growing is most certainly addictive.. The product... well emotionally and sycosimatically I would say yes... But I go cold turkey regularly and can go any amount of time if I put my mind to it.. Cigarettes is far more addictive and lethal..1 point
-
Sjoe! No takers lol... I wouldn't say it's addictive in the sense that I neeeeeeeeed weed and will suck a D for a gram.. But my GF says I get very agro in my voice and become very agitated if I don't have any for a few days... But addictive? Nah.. I can stop now... But why would I want to1 point

I would suggest fans.co.za. You're essentially buying wholesale and avoiding the large markups from the grow stores. I've got 2 hydor fans from them running strong no issues. Paid 1400 for a 8 inch silent fan and 800 for 6 inch silent edit: email them for a quote and then organise a courier to pick it up from them or if you're near an office of their organise a collection1 point
