Actually great. Withdrawals are all gone after a month. I'm a lot busier and life is resuming I guess.

You can use BioGrow and Fishmix for veg. Fishmix is nice to use during veg and you can use BioGrow through veg and quite some ways into flowering. You can brew a tea also but I've gotten good results with just the biobizz range. People that do get nitrogen toxicity are blindly following the manufacturer recommendations instead of looking at what the plant needs. Feeding with 1ml/L is more than enough, make sure you check pH with a pen or the basic drops. FF soil needs the feed to be pHd and I usually aim for about 5.5-6.2, but end up mostly around 5.8 Sent from my G3312 using Tapatalk

I have a 12000watt solar system on my 3 phase system , cost me 240k without batteries. My system is grid tied so I feed back into eskom grid and receive credits which get taken off my total from eskom . Solar batteries are fauls economy , takes you 10 years to recap costs and the lifespan of a battery of lucky is 10 years . I get on average R8500 back from Eskom a month

I think it's all relative to why you're growing. If you're spending 2.4K on power per month, it probably isn't for personal use alone. My grow probably costs me around R600 per month now, but it's still financially viable. I should harvest around 700 - 900g in my current setup. With a 6 month grow, (call it a kg for ease of math) let's say my nutes and misc items cost me another R1400 over the grow period. R5000, from start to finish, giving me a cost price of R5 per gram for something I would need to pay R150 per gram for elsewhere. Kind Sir, the cost of electricity is irrelevant. Flowering : Week 1 Not much to report. First full week on 12/12. Manually watered, added 1.4EC powder feeding. Just ordered the necessary to convert the flower tent from Autopot drip system to a full ebb and flow. The autopot jams and overflows at the slightest impurity, which has then caused powdery mildew... The tent is on a raised platform, so easy enough to convert, theoretically...

You can try your luck if you wanted to bru but if it jumps around too much the slight pH buffer that is in there won't keep up and you'll have problems down the line. I don't always feed the exact same pH level either but I try and get it as close as possible Sent from my G3312 using Tapatalk

i cut the bag off my jiffy pellets, but keep the peat before putting in soil.

The problem is...you have to over engineer the system. Most solar istallations do well when the sun is shining but, give it 3 overcast/rainy days and you are stuffed. You have to calculate your total consumption for everything-Kwh But what you use in 24hrs the solar panels must put back in 8-12 hrs of daylight and the batts must be able to handle it. What you think you need in batts and panels you likely have to double up if you want to go offgrid with the grow. Solar Panels+Mppt/pwm charge controllers+ mod/pure sinewave inverters+ deepcycle batts. Cables, connections, fuses. Installation costs aren't cheap even if you diy it. FYI....beware cheap Chinese electronics you won't save money here. A basic sized system 50k- 100k Offgrid system for your house R250k easily- just to give you an idea. We've got a thread going on the recent electricity tariff increase a.k.a Eskoms debt collection. In light of that I'd like to try get an idea of costs and what would be needed to power your grow(only your grow) with solar. Seeing as my grow pulls 16.5 units a day what would I be looking at setting up to power that?

My basic recipe... 20lit dechlorinated water 25ml seagrow(food for fungi) 25ml unsulphered molasses(bacteria) 500gr compost in netbag/stocking (EWC will work too) Let brew for 24hrs Good signs- biofilm foam on top Smells woody/musty/sweet/clean Golden amber colour Bad signs- turns dark-bad bacteria Smells off,bad, stinky, rotten,shit (Discard) Don't try to brew constantly, do small batches and start each one fresh. I really think so. THC targets the same receptors and increases available serotonin. So while I experienced a brutal physical withdrawal, from a mental or psychological point of view, I suffered no drastic negative shifts and really have just eased into being more normal. It is worth noting that my cannabis intake has also dropped massively. By grams a day!

I am curious to find out the same, I assume you would need solar panels and quite a few batteries and I know that batteries add up in price very quickly. 12v 100AH battery is around R2500 easily for one, a single battery being able to provide around 600W of power for 1 hour before it reaches its 50% discharged limit and one hour to drain a battery is quick so the overall battery life will be reduced. Add more batteries and this changes things a bit but increases the price significantly. Considering there is no sun during the night and if you need to run lights during the night then you would need to have power available for at least those let's say 8 hours or so. So a minimum of 8 batteries, if you want to run at higher voltages for increased efficiency you can double that to bump it up to 24v and it becomes 16 batteries with the same capacity. I do not know much about solar, although imagine it would need the power to be stored on batteries and then an inverter required to convert from DC to 220 - 240V AC. I have no clue about the price of solar panels and what would happen when it is over cast or rainy for a few days. Larger appliances which some may be running such as AC, dehumidifiers or heaters all use a lot more electricity too and are probably best run off the mains power and not solar / battery solution. On top of the batteries there would be the cost of the installation, inverters and most importantly solar panels. Curious to get some feedback from someone who knows about the costing of solar panels and such.

Sadly my budget sounds quite a bit tighter than yours... If it wasn't for that truth that growing is cheaper than buying, I might still be buying. My grow costs about 800 a month.. But I have a geyser... 2 fridges... Stove... Microwave... Shit adds up yo, and now it's gonna add up 15% faster... If all I had to pay was my measly 800, then I would agree with the elec hike being irrelevant

Missmayhem, We're doing an organic outdoor grow, using my own soil mix. I alternate with Seagrow, AACT and rainwater every 3 days approx depending on the plants requirements. Cannabis plants require more nitrogen during vegetative growth, during flowering they require less. So if you want to use both, you can alternate between biobizz and fishmix(not sure if they can be mixed), but be aware that you'll have to reduce the N feeding during flowering. Too much N during flowering will cause toxicity. FF soil is good(reviews on forum),have a look at the ''organic'' thread on this forum. Lots of info on FF soil and organic nutes. Nice growing @MrE ! If you find you are doing too much too the plants, it could help to put up a monthly block calendar for your grow. In there you can plan things ahead of time, as well as keep track of things already done. When you are in a situation where you want to mutilate some greenlings, check your calendar, it might be day for training, if not you can jot down some more to do stuff on the calendar. You can look at that in a glance and see if your plants will be hassled a lot or not, lol, I find myself scribling on my calendar when there is not much to do in the grow. Your LED's are sleek bro, keen to see how the plants grow out, I think they are loving that spectrum like you mentioned, did you do a DIY build on them? Seems like LANK LED's in there is it pulling a lot of power? Sorry about the questions, LED noob here learning more about them.

Hehe, So, I've got the 3500K + 660nm and the 3000K + 660nm boards in the tent, dimmed really low but about 20cm at the closest point. Will see how it goes. Reckon it's a good spectrum spread, so I'll get rid of extraneous gear and stick with this setup.

High time for a update... pun intended. 7 weeks 2 days since germination and the ladies are progressing very well. I must confess I should have rather used the same strain for this experiment, seeing how different each strain respond to training makes me feel that it's a bit of a missed opportunity, but at the end of the day if that is what I (we) learn from the ordeal it's not all bad. Anyway, let's get to the part where I post pictures and stop talking nonsense. CBD Crack Auto, topped early on in the grow. My favourite out of the 3 due to how she responded, 4 main colas with strong branches, I might even top each of the 4 colas to have 8, but I will see, might be a bit late in the day. From the side: Top view showing the 4 main colas: Nice thick main branch sprouting into 4 side branches: Fastberry Auto, bend over and pinned some of the branches to the side. Not quite what I wanted, colas all uneven and she started flowering already... Where I think I went wrong was to not bend her over more, but my pins was starting to cut into the fast growing trunk so I loosened it a bit... She is growing extremely fast and tall and the fan leaves are huge, very impressed. I think we all been there, lol. still looking bru.

Due to my extreme OCD, I've been doing plenty of things to these poor plants that I know I shouldn't have. Trimming leaves, bending stems, LST'ing at far too late a stage, removing soil to check that a germinating seed is still alive etc. etc. You name it I've done it. It all culminated in snapping off a main branch tonight. Hopefully, that jolt to my system can stem the tide of plant abuse that I'm inflicting on these poor things. I have poor impulse control I'm afraid. The middle plant is retarded because I didn't pack the soil enough around the seed, and had to intervene and re-plant it when it's roots couldn't penetrate far enough down. It survived, but you can see it's rather...flat. Here's to the future, ie. The Euforia youngling on the bottom right, the only one I have raised correctly so far. The Euforia on the left was slow and I couldn't help but scrape away soil to make it easier to break ground, which I presume is why it's so much smaller. Advice is welcomed.

Day 21 Some good growth has happened this past week on majority of the plants. I added some auto's into the mix, want to get some STS and do a bit of experimenting and reversing to try get some seeds and see how it turns out. Daiquari Lime #2 does not have a seed in it yet, I popped 2 and the one has not yet germinated so popped the 3rd and now waiting for that to germinate and then I will pot it. My Bag seed plant is growing nicely, although is not happy about something so I did a semi flush on Sunday and will monitor it. Either PH issues or too many nutes, I may have started feeding too early. Very very bushy though and I am not sure what to do with her? The others are all doing well, liking the growth I have been seeing on the CBD Critical Mass, GSC #2 is has not been happy the past two days or so. Will check the roots tonight, perhaps she is root bound. GDP #2 will need to be re-potted soon too, surprised it survived actually. Very robust strain. Will be a bit behind the others but happy to wait a bit longer for it. I am sure the yields will be worth while.

I'm not sure , hopefully one of the organic growers can confirm. I know it can matter so I guess it is best to follow the instructions until you get an answer. I'm using synthetic nutrient and I do mix a batch for a few days which is convenient, the hortimix ferts have been really cost effective and work well so far. I think im just gonna replant them into pure coco/perlite/vermiculite. Then its somma done. Also with the nutes i use, should i mix them or just use one mix per feeding? The bottles say not to mix, but the vids i watch the guys mix different nutes together? i also add some calmag to each feeding.

Right, that makes it easier . I'm not sure what it would be with 25% soil, probably still the normal soil pH target. For pure coco/perlite you are doing hydroponics so use those targets Then it seems like 5.8 is the ideal range. I'm probably over cautious doing the calmag the way I'm doing it, but so far no issues... Hopefully someone can confirm that is is a Ca deficiency as I'm only guessing though. So if you are in pure coco/perlite (+vermiculite) you are doing at least daily watering with nutrients right? I'm doing twice a day, which seems very odd after having to restrain myself when growing in soil. I'm mostly following articles from cocoforcannabis.com but shout if you want more detail on what has been working for me Anyway here are two charts showing the pH targets, I hope the plants come right!

The Crystal Gelato got the chop. A week earlier than I wanted, but Autumn has arrived properly in CT and the powdery mildew has started in her leaves. There is enough cloudy for me. There is a skeleton of a plant left. Inner and lower branches that can go a few days more.
