Evening fellow horticulturists 2 of our ladies have forged ahead and started bulking up and we have increased their feeding schedule to satisfy their needs. Despite an attempt by some spidermites and thrips trying to spoil the party. Pushing full strength seagrow (50ml/10lit+ 2ml epsom) mixed with koipond water for added benefits. So far so good. Green thumbs all the way. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk2 points

My previous attempt to build a cloner was ok-ish but it was a bit of a pain to work with. I've just thrown together a different and very DIY one and I'm pretty happy with the results The biggest issue I had was the polystyrene holders for the clones. This time I used a foam knee pad as the base. I cut circles in it by using the bottom of a silicone tube, even the hole making is DIY... I drilled a hole in each foam disk, and cut from the centre to one edge. This make a perfect holder for the stems and is easy to put back in the hole. The final result looks like this The bottom container is filled with water Fish tank heater Air pump and two large air stones - the bubbler part The foam pad rests on the water, so the stems are submerged Clear container of the same size used as the humidity dome Low wattage CFL light, resting on the block of wood to keep the heat of of the box I've just planted cloned a few of the plants, so I'm hoping I'll be seeing roots in about a week.1 point

But now they want to implement if it hasn't already passed, that you have to pay a licence fee for installing solar power. Total bullshit if you ask me, why must i pay them a licence fee to get off the grid?1 point

Must admit I never fully understood the word ''dank''.... But these plants own that word...hahaha.[emoji3]. ''Dank'' is perfect.[emoji41] Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk1 point

I think for some people is not about the money but the principle, the fact that Eskom is robbing us blind but we can do nothing about it...1 point
-
Yet this doesn't stop people from going solar *shrugs*, and he is totally off the grid with zero connection to eskom.1 point

A friend of mine spent around half a bar on his, his battery bank makes many people envious. (not for growing, just to get off the grid).1 point

Sadly it's almost a go big or go home kinda situation... You can get away with a small setup for pumps and fans and small things... But when it comes to keeping the big lights on for hours and hours... You gotta pump the money in1 point
-
Maybe we should get someone on here with solar know how to recommend a basic setup that would just run our grow ops as a start1 point

UPDATE TIME [emoji3] Today is the first week of transplanting from those 6 pack nursery pots to 19cm pots filled with proper food soil. [emoji41] I am still running the 12-1 cycle for now and made a few changes to the tent. I moved out all the other strains and placed only the BB x RG in there to see how the plants handle this from seed and having different strains in there kinda seemed like a headache, data tracking wise. I prepped some good old Seagro for them when lights came in but the pots is still on the heavy side and soil is pretty much still moist enough. So that feed will go to the bonsai garden tomorrow afternoon after work or the day after..... Im hoping for much faster growth from now on seeing that the roots has started to spread and the mycorrhizae should be active on those roots. Other than that all is good. I'd love one, just the price is high for the average joe who grows for himself.1 point

Plants are moving into other grow area, and will most likely flip to flower in a few days once I've taken some clones.1 point

Prepaid works on a sliding scale , the more you use the more expensive it gets. I cant remember the scale exactly but it works like the first R500 is one price the next R250 is another and so on . It will make no difference weather it's the start or end if the month , it's based on how much you have bought in that month1 point
