  2. Karbadust or diatomaceous earth. Its composed of microscopic exoskeletons and dices and shreds the gnats. Sprinkle liberally on soil surface. The gnats eat fungus in the soil, so they aren't attacking your plants directly in anyway.

  5. Gonna need to have a 3 way test for that. A few plants that dont get innoculated, your control groups. A few plants that do get innoculated regularly and have salts used as nutes right away And a few plants that get innoculated frequently with the salt solution left to sit for a while. But honestly... You will have bigger problems if you don't let your water sit before you use it... If you are using fresh tap water, your question is irrelevant as the tap water will do way way more damage than the salts

  6. I know Fish Mix can be sprayed as foliar spray, but only at 1 - 2ml per liter. Not sure about grow and 3ml sounds a bit high. I'd stop that, reduce the concentration a bit.

  10. hey guys, keep finding these weird winged bugs on my plants, assuming they might be female aphids with wings, as I found a small green bug too, too small to get focus on it with the camera. also some black spotting on a few leaves. I've been using bio neem from Jaimes, first spray was around 3ml/L, increased it to 5ml, sprayed the leaves at sunset 3 times in the last 5 days, but these bugs persist. clears up for a day after the neem, but the neem doesn't seem too effective. any ideas or suggestions? thanks guys, appreciate any input first pics are of the bugs, last one is the black spotting.

  12. Aquaponics is awesome but not really suitable for cannabis. The plants will grow, but the yields will be low. Research the ''nitrogen triangle'' in fishkeeping and you'll understand why@Totemic mentioned P and K. The main problem is, you can't add any ferts or you will most likely poison and kill your fish. True closed loop self sustaining aquaponics systems are good for growing mostly leafy green vegetables or plants that don't have varying nutrient requirements. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  14. Nice man! Great idea on using the water dispenser bottle. Saves a lot of energy drilling holes into the bottom of a bucket which has till now put me off building my own vortex brewer. Don't have the tools for that. I'm sorry but I'm definitely stealing your idea what size air pump are you using? I'm afraid I had to disable video uploads due to their high storage use. Once we get this forum onto some solid hosting with unlimited storage we'll start allowing video uploads again. In the mean time you could upload videos to Youtube and then embed the video here. Very easy to do.

  15. If they aren't a real problem, should I consider leaving them as bait for good critters? Would prefer to do less and let nature take care of it and step in when I have to. On a side note, when moving the soil to look for larvae, I found what appeared to be reddish mites or something. Looked like arachnids of some sort.

  17. Temp and humidity are the most important factors here. Lower terms are always better... If you can keep your Temps down at around 20° that will help preserve the terp profile... This includes your growing Temps as high growing Temps can also burn off terps if you aren't careful. Humidity is also of paramount importance... Too high and you get moldy buds... Too low and your harvest dries out before it has time to break down the chlorophyll and other shit. From the moment you harvest and hang your plants... The humidity must not go above 65% and not lower than 50%. It is a tight gap and can be a mission to maintain... But if you can do that... Then those thin stems will be snapping in 5 days ish... If you keep your humidity on 65, you can expect an extra day or so to dry out. If you can have some subtly moving air or an intake fan... it will help keep the RH down... But too much moving air fresh air will dry out the buds very quick. After that, Mason jars and burping... I have a small RH meter that fits in the jars nicely and I can easily see if I need to burp or not burp... I burp when my RH in the jar hits anything over 65...and close the jar when RH is around 55... Rinse wash repeat until the bud is smokable... So like 2 or 3 weeks from harvest... It is highly advisable to not smoke the bud as soon as it can be smoked... Quality comes from a good few months curing

  18. Whattup guy, I'll share my method of drying and curing, although it begins way in the beginning in how I grow my plant. I like to lollipop each main cola in order to have many thick and stacked bud sites that can easily be hung in my tent after a quick trimming. If you have an extraction system or a carbon filter setup you can keep that running in order to regulate your ventilation and humidity control. I keep these hanging until the highest smaller stems snap when you bend it. At that point, separate your nugs into 1 litre glass mason jars, the ones with the screw tops. I don't trust those clampy type mason jars. Also, if you go bigger than 1 litre jars you increase the risk of mold. Only fill your jars about 3/4 full. Keep in a cool dry place, burp once a day for at least two weeks. After that, you can burp as little as once a week. You can also give the nugs a small shake about every now and then but you don't need to go overboard. What I like to do at this point is throw in 62% Boveda Humidipaks into each jar, but I see you said you don't want to involve the humidipaks but I think you're good to go with what you need up until this point. Hope this helps.

  20. Dinafem is top notch man, I grew some Amnesia Haze, plant grew fast with good buds and super frosty. No issues at all, grown indoor with conditions that weren't favourable either. Good yields too considering all the issues I had (indoor hydro, lost water for a week, lights kept tripping, fans werent optimal)

  21. So may variables in this, need to know how you intend to grow \I use general hydroponics, mainly because my local nursery stocks it, its reasonable priced and I have had great results. I grow in a ebb and flow hydro system indoor

  24. LOL then adjusting back and going too far again... Lol fun times... Iv learnt to pH my water before adding nutes to avoid unnecessary resdumps with fresh nutes.. Also... The salts in the water from the nutes and pH up and down can be softened if you let your nute solution stand for a day... I wouldn't recommend this with organic nutes... But if it's just the salts I would let it sit a day before adding or using... But if you have regular inoculations you shouldn't have an issue... Keep them up... If you stop the effects will be bad on the micro herd

  25. Lol ,inorganic grows(coco/perlite) I dealt with ph up/down allot and to test ph with the drops after ,only to find out you added to much of either ... hectic times.
    1 point
  26. It's a smallish amount though, once diluted in the water is it really going to cause a lot of harm to the microbes though? Not as if it's going directly into the concentrated pH up / down solution though. Also I always avoid using too much of it - like overdoing the pH down and then using pH up to bring it back up etc. I'd rather toss out the mixture and redo it if I mess up like that.

  31. Day 54 / Day 2 of Flower Plants are looking good, the lolipopping didn't seem to bother them much. I have put the clips and such back for some further LST to get them as I want through this stretch period.

  33. Well what do you know! Medium level project complete!! Built a functional vortex brewer with one pipe that makes an actual vortex! It was not hard to build... At all... But these things seem to go for a lot of freaken money!!! Check out my brewer yo's!! Aaah man! I can't add vids!! You guys only get to see screenshots lol!! The humic acid vortex is so sick to watch.. Here's to awesome teas and a healthier garden

  35. A hydroponic lab, WTF. Ultimately it is the money which will probably play one of the bigger roles in putting them behind bars as that amount in cash is not something commonly seen and hard to prove it was not from the weed. I hate the term "dagga", call it what it is! Cannabis. In that one pic it looks like a vacuum pump, so I assume for making BHO and purging the butane. I assume a closed loop system or whatever they're called.

  37. So they seem to have grown quite a bit, especially the Daiquari Lime. Worried I'm not gonna get pollen in time for that one, may consider spraying it for pollen and then try pollinate the other - not sure. Might just leave it and hope for the best. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  38. That's basically what I've been doing all along...sun when there is some...grow box when there's none... Inside at night to keep them warm... My wife joked I must knit them some jerseys cos my "new kids" gets more attention than her
    1 point
  39. Sweet! I'm using as much sun as possible nowadays... Soon you could keep the plant outside all day but for now I take her outside for some sun and wind... And inside at night under the grow lights. Yea it's a bit of extra effort... But it does make a difference

  40. Yea, if going for CFLs then you'd probably need the larger ones for anything larger than a seedling. With CFLs, multiple smaller ones are not equivalent to a single larger one. For larger plants, I agree that QB's or COB are awesome, but the LED tubes aren't too pricey and. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  41. @YourStonedBuddy I got some Freedom Farms soil and some Organics Matter and I personally prefer the Organics Matter soil over the Freedom Farms. The plants seem a bit happier and when I messed up the plants in the OM soil didn't seem to be affected as greatly. So I ended up purchasing quite a lot more of the Organics Matter soil. I still feed nutes though , BioBizz. One thing I did notice was the difference in colour between the FF & OM soil and the fact that the OM soil seemed to have a bit more perlite in it.

  42. It depends how big you want your plants to get to. I am using 20L (well 22L to be precise) fabric pots as my final pots and I feel they're sufficient. I do not want to fill my pots to the top otherwise it's difficult to move the pots and to train the plants. Also after watering the soil it settles and the level drops a bit.

  43. 1st feed yes, although I don't think it was needed as they looked healthy. My 1st grow hence training wheels title, so learning curve for me... they out in the sun when there is some and under lights on rainy days...unconventional, I know but just fascinated with growing the plant. Will go full outdoor in mid to late spring season...this is just a muck about to learn and see what goes

  45. Some cold and wet weather the past few days and a few more expected before it clears up. DP (1) really struggling to keep her upright, slight wind tips her over. DP (2) Very close to harvest Purple Bud Also almost there, some leaves are changing colour
