Been many a year since I ventured up to the humans world, purveyor of hobbits and fishisis I am. The hills are my home and a 1 horse town with no horse. Looking to learn, share and improve my skill set this season and it will hopefully reflect in my garden. Always had a interest in organics and this season I reckon is a good as any to start. Ive got a cpl seedlings on the go vegging under some fluros under 24hr for now, will drop to 18/6 next month. fishisis I have...... Ogk ATF/ Alaskan Thunder Fook NY GreenCake Blitzspear Luckystar C99 X Blueberry Alaskan Purple 1 X Transkei landrace cpl reg autos I from a pollination last year. They are 17days 9/8.... Decided to start a journal as I'll be entering the outdoor grow off as well.. Tunnel of Mordor........... I have 10x 200-240lt fishing holes dug for some of the new girls. Ill be lining the holes with the rock/crusher stone for drainageI'm going with 50/50 coco/perlite, 50 top soil, 50 compost and ammending with diat earth, fine dolomite lime, turbo grow, rock phosphate, kelp powder. if I've not mentioned anything or you can recommend other additives please do. Eventually I'm wanting to do raised box beds off those spots, but that's more next years objective me thinks... c99 X blueberry...... 12-4/8 Freedoms farms classic mix fed with 1ml biobzz/1lt. Alaskan Purple. 12-4/8 Both are on the same feed/soil at the c99s. #Alaskan2 sprouted a weird 2 finger leaf out but no apical stem, as of this morning I see there is the tip of a leaf poking out, so there's hope of greater things to come... Hope it's a blessed long weekend....2 points

Creating this thread to showcase the rest of the ladies in my growbox during the 2019 Indoor Growoffs. We can only track one of the Chocolope x NorthernLights F4 gen, so I will keep track of the other ChocoNL (number 3) here, alongside my 2 x BlueberryKush F2 gen plants. The Chocolopes have the prime spot under the hps and the BlueberryKush plants are directly under the cfl, but get quite a bit of ambient light from the hps. Day 1 Flowering - Week 12 points

Howzit, you can also add some bone meal, guano, Atlantic fertilizer or any organic fertilizer for that matter, cow manure, some good microbes if you can find some. Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk2 points

They seem very happy so far, will update grow log on Sunday. Highest Temps I've had since the change is 27 deg. Coverage is great, I'm already planning a version 2. I want to find out what a solid pice of aluminum sheet will cost me instead of using the strips, which will allow for even heat distribution. Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk2 points

I use one of these: https://www.takealot.com/goldair-fan-heater-upright-white/PLID38673379 More powerful, has a built in thermostat and it's relatively cheap. Just unscrew it and cut the LED to not disturb your grow. Works really well, I place it behind one of my oscillating fans to get a more even heat in the grow area.2 points

I wouldn't use this. Make life easier for yourself, get some BioBizz Grow or Fish Mix for veg and then BioBizz Bloom for flowering. Works alright and is easy to use. It's tried and tested.2 points

I still can't come to a rational conclusion why a plant needs any legislation. Legalisation implies laws exist governing cannabis. Outlawing nature is a crime. If laws governing the protection of minors step up, it can't possibly be more severe than our current liquor laws. My point is the law has been the primary vilifier of Cannabis. The problem is that.2 points

In the works Going to hit my Zkittlez male on a selection of my moms. Working on some GirlScoutCookies fem crosses from my GSC mom reversed. Doing a open pollination project with friends to widen gene pools and protect against bottlenecking.1 point

I decided to take one of my c99 clones and experiment with store bought Colloidal silver. The required ppm seems to be a debatable topic, ranging from 18ppm to 100ppm. For the purpose of this experiment I will be using Biosil 20ppm. Let's see how it goes. Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk1 point

Something tells me you either have bonsai, had bonsai or just know bonsai cause that twisting looks great. I'll prob have to make a big trek to you to help but then again I can always take leave and go visit my friend in Polokwane, pack some indoor bud and come by....(in a perfect world that is) Sent from my FIG-LX1 using Tapatalk1 point

@Dank It doesn't say what type of guano it is but smells horrible. LoL which is good. Here's the info on it. Obviously I don't follow their recommendations because that's a fuck load bro, I go in at 0.5ml/L for smaller veg girls and once they get shifting you bump it to 1ml/L Sent from my G3312 using Tapatalk1 point
-
Hi man your girls are looking very good, that Bay11 is a fav in California and bred by the same guys as GrandDaddyPurple i think. About that guano feed, is it seabird guano, I have been looking for batguano (for veg + flower) here in sa, but I haven't found any. In the states and Canada there is so much choice regarding batguano.1 point

LoL yeah man. Those darn animals but with me I add kids. Especially the 3 year old that loves pulling out plants cause he thinks he is helping. Thank goodness for cloning [emoji23] Your taking a dream I had and turning it into reality. I really do hope all works out well. Damn I wish I was there to help build and setup. So it's off to pmb today, pick up some knick knacks for the garden, and I haven't been outta my cave in a while so let's get er done... fishisis............... Blitzspear and Luckystar 12 - 4/8 I think ive seen someone here last year I believe running some ama-d, last year I saw an amazing bushfire OG that really set tongues wagging but they didn't get past taproot before playing dead so let's see what these bring.1 point

Okay well it seems its been a while since I updated, I'll get to doing that today. I'm keeping 4 girls in veg for my friend which got a guano feed with my veg girls. All looking good. Clones need a pot up soon. Flowering girls will start week 8 on Monday, the Bay11 is behind and starts week 7 on Monday. Sent from my G3312 using Tapatalk1 point

I like the DIY. Are you going to bend the plants through the net to try get a flat canopy?1 point

Not my recipe... Lemon, Orange, Lime, Raspberry, Strawberry and Blackcurrant Fruit Pastilles 240g Fruit Purée 225g caster (superfine) sugar 95g liquid glucose 10g pectin 2.5ml lemon juice Put the fruit purée, 150g of the sugar and the liquid glucose in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Mix the remaining sugar with the pectin in a small bowl. Whisk the pectin mixture into the boiling fruit purée. Continue to cook over a low heat, stirring continuously, until the mixture reaches 104°C (219°F) on a sugar thermometer. Mix in the lemon juice and continue to cook for 3–4 minutes. Pour the mixture into a silicone mould and leave to set for 2–3 hours in a cool, dry place. Demould the set pastilles and roll them in granulated sugar.1 point

No more fresh active intake for me as I got PM due to it so moved back to 2 150mm passive intakes with stockings as filters. With my new tent coming I got some extra secret jardin light baffle intakes1 point

Thanks all - definitely Cal/mag issues. I though that using the Atami coco which is buffered, and FloraCoco which I presumed would be adjusted for Cal?mag in coco would be okay, but will dose them from now. Removed all dead leaves. Thanks1 point
-
Yea... Slap them with a good dose of calmag if you have... Or Epsom salts at the least... I wouldn't say so much a calcium def... More magnesium... That's the brown rust spots... Dead giveaway... Dose them and they will be right in no time... The damaged leaves will never heal or come right1 point

I seem plagued with thrips. Having a partner that had recently completed her PhD in the field of agricultural biological control agents we decided to embark on a experiment in terms of controlling different forms of insect control. Her research primarily focused on that of specific nematode species. These are tiny worms that live in the soil and exert specific types of host seeking behavior in order to track down their pray. This got me tracking down a few companies, notably Jamies garden which I was not that impressed with in terms of feedback, delivery and other factors. In any event, living seeds sells these IPM's (integrated pest management) solutions, however their prices are borderline criminal. So this led me to find Koppert, they do take some time to reply to emails so its best to really investigate in advance if you would like to use one of their control mechanisms. So these are the products I specifically queried on: Swirski-Mite - 1L bottle (contains 50,000 mites) R422 Sportnem-T rather Capasanem 2 x 25Mil R256 Thripex-Plus , 500 sachets R1246 Thripex-V 1L NA (price not provided as Plus was) My approach for future grows will be that of a two attack approach, I will use steinernema carpocapsae, which is a nematode species referred to as SportNem-T, this will be used as a soil drench you will notice the amounts you get (50 million), they are very small and barely noticeable with the naked eye. They will seek out soil born insects such as larvae and potentially even fungus gnats yet to start flying. They do this by action of entering the opening of the insect and releasing a bacteria into the host insect and slowly begin to digest it. These nematodes in particular are harmless to the plant and humans and pose no environmental risk at all , in fact you most likely have them in your garden already, or some other specific species of them such as steinernema feltiae. The other approach will be the use of Swirski mites, 50,0000 of these go for 422 where living seeds charges 89R for 250.... These are predator mites and will hunt down thrips, and various other broad mites. Anyways, thought i'd share some info on this and the company I will be getting my biological control agents from.1 point

STS is Silver Thiosulphate Solution. It s a mixture of Silver Nitrate and Sodium Thiosulfate. The Silver Nitrate is expensive, over R500 for 25g. However it lasts long as you use 0.5g to make a 500ml solution which is then further diluted to form the STS.1 point
-
I believe Trailblazer420 got his from Dischem. It was the highest ppm he could find. The alternative to CS is STS, but it can be a bit expensive. I'm giving it a try at the moment. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point

nice man, where can you find colloidal silver locally? is it like a normal store bought thing. Have researched seeding, but have not looked around yet for product1 point
-
Wow, as soon as a few days. So how long from when you first saw balls to them opening? Would be nice to have a rough time line for my plants. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point
-
It stops the production of Ethylene which from what I recall and this causes the plant to produce male parts and pollen. If you have a plant which hermies, the seeds are more likely to hermie as well. With STS or CS, since the pollen is not created due to stress, the chance of higher hermies from seeds is heavily reduced. @Trailblazer420 very nice! Mine are not showing balls yet, how long until the balls have ripened and drop pollen?1 point
-
Yes this is for feminized seeds, the CS is absorbed through the foikage which causes the flowering. It is not due to stress, so your risk of hermies is directly related to your growing environment and will not be due to the CS Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk1 point

If kids gonna smoke weed then I hope that's the most extreme thing they ever do. I for certain did worse as a kid than I do now as an adult. I just want to be able to freely grow and enjoy my weed without fear of any prosecution, and if I felt my product worthy for the exchange of monetary funds in order to pay the rent, then also be allowed to do so.1 point

Capitalism would most likely work if 100% of us were honest. That's never gonna happen. Until our minds can be programmed otherwise. The competition polls attest to this fact @Totemic when you say cannabis should disappear from law do you effectively mean that it should be fully legalised? i.e. as legal as lettuce? lol for it to have no regulation would mean it would have to be fully legalised, open trade for all. If it was totally unregulated, what about keeping it clear of youth? Sure, educating your kid is most important but not all parents follow through with that. The only regulation I see fit for cannabis is regulating the youth's access to it.1 point

Shame man... Poor ladies growing past the light Need to make a choice now... Either raise the lights to get that under lights too... Or chop chop chop so that the lower stuff can get light... Not sure how many grows you have, but this is something a scrog can help with, or more diligence in veg with training.1 point

These girls are getting lekka big. Lovin it, had some salt buildup issues, but looks to be under control now. Also upped the lighting in budding area with the budget i had. Seems to do the trick. Will flip these in about 2 weeks1 point

Yes I stopped about 3 days ago. Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk1 point

Could those be sacks? I think they're tiny little sacks. Still in vegging mode, extended the veg spraying by a week due to a few days that I had to leave town... [emoji4] Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk1 point

Transplanted these ladies yesterday after discovering the roots coming out the bottom of previous pots. The repotting didn't seem to bother them at all. put them into 25lt drums that i modified as pots. Just basically drilling at shitload of holes around the drum to ensure good aeration as these drums go quite deep.1 point

Another week has passed and the girls are looking swell:) Had some issues, but all seems back on track. Im think of keeping them in veg for another month, to grow leka big and strong1 point

Shot for the extra details about your lighting and grow, it is going to be awesome man, I am looking forward to checking out this grow. Best damn hobby in the whole world I always say! Stay blessed up1 point
