Day 64 / Day 12 of Flower Snapped a quick pic this morning, plants are looking good and recovering well from the defoliation. I had to raise 2 of the plants though. Was too lazy to remove it for the pic.

Healthy outdoor Cannabis plants can handle high temps, providing certain conditions are met. Plants in a pot would stress a lot more than that of one who has its roots in nice cool garden soil, providing the soil is not bone dry. You could always provide them with a shadenet in the heat wave if you are concerned. Indicas generally can handle quite a lot of heat, if the plant is healthy and well cared for it will just eat up that sunshine. Do not move plants from indoors straight into heat like that, they wont enjoy it much.

Hey guys, does anyone have experience with growing indicas in a hot environment? Got our hands on some awesome strains from B&B when the relaunch specials were on. But in the excitement research wasn't done, and we got mostly indicas. 2x ananas funk. Stated as mold resistant, but it's mostly indica. 1x gorilla glue, also indica dominant 1x gorilla glue auto 1x psychedelic. Indica 1x bigger bud. Indica 1x northern lights. Indica 1x amnesia haze, probably the only sensible choice because it's like 95% sativa. All from bulk seed bank, germinated the GG and psychedelic, both seeds cracked in cotton, under a diy humidity dome. No tap root yet. Plan on growing them all in small 4l pots until they mature enough, then moving them straight into the garden. What can I do just to help indicas flourish a bit more in the warmer days to come? Any training I should consider implementing? Thank for any advice guys. Happy growing

Hey all, So after speaking to some friends I was intrigued and decided to try and build a Bubble Cloner. I must give credit where credit is due and this mostly stemmed from @CreX I just purchased the stuff and put it together. Not a new concept or anything, however will be nice to have a reference on this website. What is a Bubble Cloner? A bubble cloner is where you have a tub with water and the clones are above the water, the stems never touch the water. You have an airstone (or a few) and the droplets from the bubbles popping spit small amounts of water into the stems of the cuttings. So fairly simple, I found a suitable tub. I did not want the water to be too deep so found something I felt was suitable. It's a 20L tub. Nothing fancy, best to try avoid something where light may leak through as roots are not the biggest fans of light. So best to avoid something transparent. I did not have proper equipment when doing the holes as I was not at my house, so made do to measure as the first few holes were not very straight. Ended up using a cutting board and knife to make the lines / markings to try get some uniformity to the holes. I ended up making the holes with a 38mm hole saw. For the blue discs I used a pool noodle. A bread knife cuts through it easily. I then took a 44mm hole saw and pressed down on it to create some marks and cut them out with scissors - very easy. In terms of light leaks I feel its sufficient. I ran out of pool noodle as I just cut a piece to take with me. I drilled two small holes on the side near the top to fir the tubes for the air through and then there were bubbles! As you can see I used two airstones, bubbles are important! You want to see the bubbles travelling to the corners of the container. I personally used these Tetra airstones, others will work well too. I used a Sobo SB9905 airpump which is dual output at 2x 5.5L/ min apparently and only uses 4.2W I had to clean up my flowering plants so decided to fill up the bubble cloner and test it out. So far this beats using jiffy pellets or soil. As per @CreX's recommendation I am trying to keep things simple, he likes to harden them off for 12 - 24 hours (at most) in plain tap water, so as you take the cutting place it into tap water and ensure the stem is submerged in the water. No humidity dome, just plain tap water with the chlorine and all. You can add rooting hormone on the stems, but not essential. After hardening them off, transfer the cuttings to the bubble cloner which is filled with tap water once again. Straight from the tap with good old chlorine! I put them into my veg area, I am trying without rooting hormone, no kelpak, nutrients, humidity dome. Nothing at all. So far all clones are still looking good. You obviously do not have to do it the same way, I may give it a try later on with a few additives. Perhaps some Trich and/or Kelpak although @CreX has not had as much success when doing so and finds that the stems tend to rot / go soggy more often then. He suspects the chlorine helps to prevent this. Next time I will most likely use rooting hormone as well, I have a gel. The powder may get rinsed off quickly though, probably the gel too. Anyways, hope this helps some people out, so far all is going well and I much prefer this method. I will report back in a few days / weeks giving an update on the rooting. I do not need this many clones, so just doing it to test things out and will be happy to trade them or perhaps toss them. All in all this costs under R500, I know I could have gotten my stuff cheaper from other shops, but I did not feel like driving all over the place. Realistically you could probably have this built for under R300 if you source well priced parts, an added benefit is you will then have an air pump and air stones to make a nice AACT for your plants too!

Its a dumb name... But its this thing, lots of small bubbles but not much splashing I've been using that, but even with a fish tank heater now in winter its taking about two weeks for roots to get going. The plants look really good the entire time though The previous lot I planted out into coco are all doing well. So it seems to be working well enough.

I'm surprised you get as many bubbles using that as you do. I guess the one I tried was old, or perhaps its because I used a bendable diffuser rather than an air stone. I'll try with some good quality ones to see For my cloner I'm submerging the stems 100% of the time. When I was looking initially I could not see a definite answer on which way was better or why. If I sort out the airstones perhaps I'll try the next set of clones this way and compare results Its great to see different ideas, thanks for posting this

Was mainly just the heat. December the temperature sometimes hit 35, didn't know how they would handle it. Thanks man, appreciate the feedback guys. What forms of training do you guys use outdoors? Was thinking of just topping them, maybe some lst to bend the whole stem down and spread them out even more? Just not sure if it's necessary with indicas. Just don't want any tall plants peeking over the walls

The Indica are just better suited to indoor growing due to their short stature... Where as sativas grow very tall and are not suited to indoor growing. But outdoors, as long as you have great sun and goor rains... You will have a great Indica plant right here in jozi

I do not think you will have any issues growing the Indica strains, even outdoors in our summer. No different compared to a Sativa strain. I am not aware of Indica strains not growing nicely in warmer climates, what are your concerns?

I dig Rock/Metal, but i like all types of music. Doors, Violant Femmes, House (sometimes)., etc. but this is my new fav for the busy smoke sessions.

Tonight was the 4th STS spray. Still no signs of balls from what I can see. I should have marked a few branches and just sprayed / focused on those from the beginning. I have since marked 3 branches and will be spraying the main stem too. I'll continue to spray until I see balls or until I feel its really too late and nothing is happening. I need to mix another batch of Sts from my part a and part b solutions. Next spray will be Sunday. I'll probably mix the next batch then too. Thought I'd give an update on what's happening my side grow wise 3 different strains running in my tent at the moment, soon to be 4. Back left - Rare Dankness scotts OG in the Organics matter living soil Back right - Humboldt seeds Amherst Sour Diesel. Also in the OM soil Middle row left - Rare Dankness scotts OG in my own soil Middle row right - Humboldt Seeds Amhest Sour Diesel in my own soil Front - Rare Dankness Starkiller OG in my own soil Delicious Seeds Sugar Black Rose soon to enter in some more OM soil. The Scotts OG's are now 2 and a half weeks through flower. They are clones of the same plant. They were transplanted into their respective soils a week before flip. They came from a regular seed The Sour Diesels are 2 weeks through flower. Also transplanted a week prior to flip. I'm pretty sure I put them in the flower tent too soon but that's no major issue. The Starkiller OG has been in flower for 4 weeks and 4 days now. She came from a regular seed. Only bought 2 regular seeds of this strain, thank fuck the gamble paid off. The first seed I germed and grew out turned out male. So i germed this seed with a clenched nort till she showed sex! As you can tell I'm running the same strains in my soil and the organics matter soil. This wasn't initially intended but I've essentially got a comparison going here. They are clones of the same plants and were very similar in size before being transplanted into their respective soils. Game on! Will do my best to keep you guys updated The Starkiller OG

Shot man!! Yea guys it's that simple!! After the hardening off period... As long as the stems stay moist, they will root... *will motha fucken root* If the stems don't get enough spitter spatter, they will go limp and recovery is tough... More bubbles... Always more bubbles.
