  2. Been many a year since I ventured up to the humans world, purveyor of hobbits and fishisis I am. The hills are my home and a 1 horse town with no horse. Looking to learn, share and improve my skill set this season and it will hopefully reflect in my garden. Always had a interest in organics and this season I reckon is a good as any to start. Ive got a cpl seedlings on the go vegging under some fluros under 24hr for now, will drop to 18/6 next month. fishisis I have...... Ogk ATF/ Alaskan Thunder Fook NY GreenCake Blitzspear Luckystar C99 X Blueberry Alaskan Purple 1 X Transkei landrace cpl reg autos I from a pollination last year. They are 17days 9/8.... Decided to start a journal as I'll be entering the outdoor grow off as well.. Tunnel of Mordor........... I have 10x 200-240lt fishing holes dug for some of the new girls. Ill be lining the holes with the rock/crusher stone for drainageI'm going with 50/50 coco/perlite, 50 top soil, 50 compost and ammending with diat earth, fine dolomite lime, turbo grow, rock phosphate, kelp powder. if I've not mentioned anything or you can recommend other additives please do. Eventually I'm wanting to do raised box beds off those spots, but that's more next years objective me thinks... c99 X blueberry...... 12-4/8 Freedoms farms classic mix fed with 1ml biobzz/1lt. Alaskan Purple. 12-4/8 Both are on the same feed/soil at the c99s. #Alaskan2 sprouted a weird 2 finger leaf out but no apical stem, as of this morning I see there is the tip of a leaf poking out, so there's hope of greater things to come... Hope it's a blessed long weekend....

  5. Good evening brother my apologies as I did not include the autos last night, I should be able to rectify that ya bear with me....haha Day19/ 25/819 They are in the same soil mix as the girls in the previous post but not showing any signs of burning, feeding is the same as above just in lesser quantities.. The auto bottom right of the pic is my only suspected male of the bunch so far and reason I say that is the new growth that is pushing out resembles a artichoke and I'd put balls on a block it's a male....haha The rest are all carrying on hunky dory, I'm expecting great things of the green crack as that was rather nice smoke and the black cream which kills it in the fruity smell department, smoke wise was also very enjoyable... Im hoping to get a fine specimen of a male hopefully a nice tall sturdy structure to him and sprinkle some mustard on a branch each of the 2 above girls... Will be repotting the 2 into 20lt fabric in the near future I just want them to get their legs underneath them first. Have a blessed evening and a irie week going forward....

  11. They should arrive in the next few days... Either 12v or 220v 50w COBs, whichever arrives first. Getting the frame ready so it's plug and play :). I managed to dig out a 1250w server PSU, so I'll be replacing the current one with that since the 12v cobs are starting to look a little dim on my first build. I need a total of 4 of these to cover my grow area. This one is starting to take shape... I'm going to leave my first one as is for vegging, so I'll build 3 of these for my flowering tent Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk

  13. Hey guys im hoping someone can clarify for me. What are the problems i face with light bleeding from veg section into budding section?

  14. Day 15 Flowering - Week 3 The scrog filled up nicely, only problem is the one BlueberryKush is beyond vigorous and is dominating her sister. Im letting them do their thing, i cant defoliate them too much right now as they produce very little leaf once in bud. The chocolopes are doing great, i have been defoliating under the screen, not much lst training now.

  16. Meh... Nothing yet. But it's still alive, and the stem isn't soggy either... So even longer I will give her... Im so tempted to put it in my bubble cloner and just get it done! But I have a point to make now... I have done this before and it worked... But I also forgot about it for every long and then when I eventually came back to find it... It had roots. So by now you have realized that this isnt the fastest way to clone. But it does open the door for couriers, as you can comfortably send a fresh cutting,if you wanted, to anywhere locally really and the guy on the other end can do as he pleases. Even if it gets stuck somewhere... A week, 2 weeks... The cutting will come out just fine. As soon as I have roots I will post pics

  17. So making a screen for your green shouldn't cost you an arm and a keg... There are cheaper ways of doing this, but I went with a wood frame for a bit of weight. You can get aluminum angle bar that is pretty cost effective too... But light. Also conduit can be used, but I would use it for smaller nets and more of a sub canopy support and not for canopy support as the plant will lift the net with growth and time if it is not heavy enough. I bought some 38mmx38mmx2m square pine wood from builders... Cost around R50 a length. Bought a packet of screws to put it together... Cost around R50 too Had a spindle of string at home so I was sorted there... But strings not costly either. Okay so I made 45° cuts on my lengths of wood, I made a custom size to fit my grow space exactly. And ended up with enough wood to make a 2nd decent sized screen ... I measured my square sizes and made marks on all the lengths of wood the same. Drilled all the holes for the strings. My square size is 75mm x 75mm I screwed the corners together using 3 screws on each corner. That made up the frame. Then I strung it up making the string fairly taut. Check it out! So begins a new experience for my indoor grows

  20. Sorry dude but that doesn't count as a reply. I was in a hurry and didn't know what to say. Mainly due to to not having the pipe of wisdom or mind expanding green gold with me at that time. LoL. But yeah things are looking good on your side of the hills. The burn might be from the compost or even the EWC. I guess the soil is fine food wise. Maybe try foliar feeding for a bit??? Which ones are the auto's or is my mind to expanded again??? Sent from my FIG-LX1 using Tapatalk

  23. Day34/ 24/8/19 I up-potted all seedlings into 5lt bags for the interim and I'll be topping all and make clones out of the tops, they pushing out the 6th set and I'll wait till the tenth befor I consider topping them. Meduim is 50% coco/perlite and 25/25 compost and earthworm castings and amendments, I got a slight burn on some girls but nothing to worry about thankfully.. fed with 25ml kelpak, 25ml biobzz, 25ml soluble silicon and 25ml amino mix per 20lt, never used the last 3 before but the noticeable spurt in growth is immediately noticeable as you'll see in the one stem shot....

  25. Just an update on my White widow ladies, they getting lekka bushy now. 1st pic is above the canopy 2nd is below the canopy. You can see where her main branch bent when trying to keep her under the net, eventually it died of, so i cut it off. doing ok now though. flipped them earlier this week. They are in here with 1 super skunk kush and 3 Lem skunk, so 6 plants in total. Think on next grow i will put only 4 in this section as it gets a bit crowded.

  34. Cannabis, like many plants, can be grown in more than one way. Most people think of roots growing in soil, but hydroponics offers the ability to work in smaller spaces with more control over your green’s food source. If you’re looking for flavor and forgiveness in the occasional mistake, take up the traditional soil method. Of course, any experienced grower will have a preference with first-hand accounts of why they stick with their technique. If you’re looking to plant a marijuana seed and help it grow, there are a few things you should consider before planning things out.Intro to Growing Cannabis in SoilGrowing plants in soil seems to be what many people try first when it comes to growing in cannabis. If you’ve grown other plants in soil and/or have maintained a soil garden, this may be the best choice for you because you will already be familiar with a lot of what you need to understand to grow cannabis in soil.Cannabis plants prefer rich soil that allows for maximum drainage, in fact, many growers switch out soil for perline to increase drainage. Nutrient rich materials like earthworm castings or manure can be added to improve the health of your greens and make sure the crop gets everything it needs. Plants absorb nutrients from soil, so during the flowering stage it’s important to use just the right kind and amount of nutrients to maximize your yields and prevent any a nutrient deficiency. Even with the best soil you will still need to supplement some nutrients to maximize your results.Note: Do not use “Miracle-Gro” soil or any soil that has “extended release” nutrients for growing cannabis. These types of soil will continue to release nitrogen to your plant roots for up to 6 months. This can burn your cannabis plants in the flowering/budding stage and reduce your overall yields.Pros vs Cons:Pros: · Can be more forgiving for inattentive growers· Growing in soil is easier than some types of hydroponic growing· Better flavor in the end· Natural productCons: · It takes up a lot of space· It is usually more expensive· Problems take longer to become evident and be recovered· Doesn’t produce as high of a volume of nutrients than hydroponics doIntro to Hydroponics for CannabisHydroponics refers to growing plants in pretty much anything besides soil, including growing mediums like coco coir, sand, gravel, straight water, or even misted air. When growing marijuana hydroponically, as the grower it’s up to you to provide all the nutrients your plants need throughout the entire grow. This is done by adding nutrients to their water supply. The benefit to this is that you can accurately provide the right amount of exactly the right kind of nutrients your marijuana plants want, to maximize your yields.Hydroponic systems come in different forms, here are the top 5 common forms: aeroponics, deep water culture, drip irrigation, nutrient film technique, and ebb-and-flow.1. AeroponicsAeroponics uses a grow chamber to suspend roots in the air with no medium inside of a closed-loop system. Water, rich with nutrients, douses the bases of these plants as they hang in the air. By providing an oxygen-rich environment, the microbes on the plant are able to digest and process the nutrients for its circulatory system.2. Deep Water CultureDeep Water Culture is a method of growing which uses a bucket of nutrients, also called bubblers. The plants are suspended over the nutrients as the roots grow into the nutrients below. The bubblers’ mixture is filled with air using an aquarium pump and pays off by speeding up the growtime. The oxygen and fertilizer enriched mixture work wonders for the end product.3. Drip IrrigationThe drip irrigation system feeds each plant individually in its own chamber. Nutrients are administered by a dripper, and then the solution is recycled, much like the already mentioned methods. Each plant is located in separate chambers where the nutrients are fed to the medium by means of a small dripper.4. Nutrient Film TechniqueThe Nutrient Film Technique is a hydroponic method which involves a nutrient solution being pumped onto a tray or gulley to form a shallow and slow moving film that moves through the plant’s roots. These roots grow into the solution, creating a large root mat in the tray. Having round the clock access to water and nutrients along with more than enough oxygen for the roots, makes for rapid development with maximum yields.5. Ebb-And-FlowEbb and Flow replaces soil with a medium like rockwool to produce very large yields. This type of system stimulates a natural cycle of rain and the time in between it, therefore giving off a more natural environment for your grow.Pros/ Cons Pros: · Maximize yields by accurately providing just the right amount of nutrients to your cannabis· Soil born diseases and pests are less likely because of the lack of soil and the grow is usually indoor· Larger yield· Problems are easier to correct because you’re more in control· Doesn’t take up a lot of space· Get a result quicker· Better looking product “in the bag”· Grows are able to be automated by using techniques like bubbleponics and deep water cultureCons: · A lot more maintenance cleaning the equipment· Doesn’t taste as well as soil grown· Need to pay a lot of attention during the entire process

  36. Firstly what's up everyone...happy to join a SA community. Here goes...December holidays boredom kicked in and decided to build my own growbox after a few successful outdoor grows. So used 5mm polypropylene sheets with a retrofitted wooden frame she is 80cm x 60cm x 170cm 2x 12inch exhaust fans and 1x 12inch inlet fan. 1x oscillating fan inside 1x 600w blurple 1x 80w CFL 1x 20w cool white led. Will change to warm white when flowering 1x 50w cool white led - off now only for flowering 2x 45w full spectrum led for flowering aswell 2 DIY carbon filters yet to be connected Now what's growing 1x wondergirl - originally a bagseed hence the name. Wonder if it's a girl...sure hope so 1x Bubbanilla kush - a previous outdoor grow of Bubba kush yielded some seeds. This is from that 1x Jack Herer - feminized 1x Royal Cheese - found 1 seed in a quality batch of indoor. Hopefully its female 2x Swiss Cheese clones Then finally what's on my current smoke and toke menu Gorilla Glue Cheese Chocolope Blueberry x Critical Widow Honey B Bubba Kush Strawberry Banana Some greenhouse Some outdoor Think that's it...still my first indoor grow. Learning loads along the way. Comments and advice appreciated Peace n love folks Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
