  3. I have 3 plants at the moment, roughly 2-3 weeks old i think. Named White Monopoly Capital , Boerboel and Deez Buds. Deez buds seems to have a genetic abnormality on its leaves. Is it worthwile to continue growing him/her? I have them under a 1000w ( 150w actual draw prob ) Led light 18 hours on 6 hours of. Deez nuts had a little mold on the the soil,so i sprinkled some Diatomaceous Earth on the soil. All pots are 25L. Wish me luck and feel free to give advice.

  5. So you're going to find every one has their own preferred methods. I've tried to germinate in paper towel and in rapid rooters, I prefer paper towel. Firstly I've never scrubbed / sanded my seeds. I only soak for around 24 hours and have yet to see taproots during that period. I then put them into some Woolworths paper towels (no bleach) and into a zip lock bag to seal in the moisture. I then wait for the taproot to be around 1-2cm long (sometimes they're longer), I then use tweezers and stick them into soil with the leaves / shell exposed above the soil. So far I've only had 1 seed not germinate. I prefer paper towel over rapid rooters as I find it germinates a little quicker, roots take easier and quicker when in soil. I like that you can see whether a seed has a taproot yet in paper towel too. I planted a seed into soil once and covered it and it germinated but then was growing sideways and I had to redirect it and risk damaging it. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  6. Extremely unlikely it's 1000w. Best would be to hook up a multimeter to it and check the volts & amps and calculate the wattage that way. If I had to guess I'd say it draws between 120-250W I'd probably keep it around 30-60cm above the. Canopy depending on the power and the type of LED's used. 8. I think the soak is where i fucked up. didnt let them soak til they cracked, didnt know you were supposed to. left them for 24 hours and just took them out, none cracked. and yes, theyre bought seeds from breeders, but its bulk seed bank. thanks man, will definitely try that. going to speak to biltong and budz and find out if we can get store credit for the ones that failed to germ, add a bit of bucks and hopefully get some proper genetics. thanks man, wont be giving up. just sudden bursts of disappointment.

  9. my method: scuff seeds with sandpaper lightly (they have a coating that needs to be removed or broken to allow water to penetrate). then soak in water for 24hours, max 36. Once the shells have cracked & the tap root emerges, remove from water & add to centre of wet paper towel, fold over & cover seeds, keep towel damp. place in a tupperware that does not let light through, close lid & leave a small opening for air to get through. wrap in a dish cloth & put somewhere warm. you want to keep the seeds btw 17-27C, humid & moist. the warmer the faster they germ. once the taproots are about an inch long they're ready to transplant into the medium. should take about 24-36 hrs. before you write the seeds off as duds, do my method, i germinate about 90% of my seeds, the 10% i dont germ are generally bagseed or similar. bought breedder seeds i'm at about 95% germ rate. dont write off growing just yet, just research before each step & stick to the rules & you'll get there

  10. Been many a year since I ventured up to the humans world, purveyor of hobbits and fishisis I am. The hills are my home and a 1 horse town with no horse. Looking to learn, share and improve my skill set this season and it will hopefully reflect in my garden. Always had a interest in organics and this season I reckon is a good as any to start. Ive got a cpl seedlings on the go vegging under some fluros under 24hr for now, will drop to 18/6 next month. fishisis I have...... Ogk ATF/ Alaskan Thunder Fook NY GreenCake Blitzspear Luckystar C99 X Blueberry Alaskan Purple 1 X Transkei landrace cpl reg autos I from a pollination last year. They are 17days 9/8.... Decided to start a journal as I'll be entering the outdoor grow off as well.. Tunnel of Mordor........... I have 10x 200-240lt fishing holes dug for some of the new girls. Ill be lining the holes with the rock/crusher stone for drainageI'm going with 50/50 coco/perlite, 50 top soil, 50 compost and ammending with diat earth, fine dolomite lime, turbo grow, rock phosphate, kelp powder. if I've not mentioned anything or you can recommend other additives please do. Eventually I'm wanting to do raised box beds off those spots, but that's more next years objective me thinks... c99 X blueberry...... 12-4/8 Freedoms farms classic mix fed with 1ml biobzz/1lt. Alaskan Purple. 12-4/8 Both are on the same feed/soil at the c99s. #Alaskan2 sprouted a weird 2 finger leaf out but no apical stem, as of this morning I see there is the tip of a leaf poking out, so there's hope of greater things to come... 12. Nice work man! Looking great actually! If you underestimate your light at the moment, you can take them outside and they can soak up the outdoor sun Do you have space to grow outdoors?

  14. By the sounds of it it might not be full spectrum. Do you have/ know how to use a multimeter? For basic lux measurements you can get a lux meter on your phone... Doesn't really give you accurate readings, but it does help with light placing and stuff

  15. Just started final week flush, some nice purple tones coming through

  16. What colour is the light? The add says it's full spectrum... So it should be a cool white or warm white colour when it's on. If it's a blurple light, it's prob not full spectrum. Run some tests though... Maybe the manufacturer used some decent diodes and you hit a luck... Start a grow diary and let's see what happens!

  17. You have not been ripped off per say, a 1000w light will cost way more and in a small area will probably burn your plants or not even fit. For that price, stick to what you have and save up for some better quality LED's, your current ones will work fine for your grow I'm sure. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  20. @MentalYeti Thank you for your response. I will go check out other related posts. It is weird that the manufacter stated the light should be 1.5 - 2m above plants. I have mine set at 100cm above plants, it is great to hear your plants are doing better. Thanks for the advice.

  22. I am a noob so cant answer question one as i have the same light i think, but question 2 I can give my advice. When i first put up the light i had it about cm away from plant. This burned the leaves. It is now 60cm away and plants seem to be doing much better. There are alot of helpfull articles or posts on this Forum. and the ladies and gents are keen to help.

  27. I seem to have miss read that statement. Maybe because it was hidden away like fine print in contracts. LoL. But anyway let me clear my throat quickly.. QUITTERS NEVER WIN & WINNERS NEVER EVER EVER FUCKING QUIT !!!!! I am still trying to hone in my skills on taking cuttings and rooting them, cause I suck ass. I have a 10 % success rate after some years of trying. So listen to Kgrows and try new methods. But please never quit growing this beautiful plant. We need the extra oxygen these days, and some lovely bud porn is always a welcome sight [emoji6] Sent from my FIG-LX1 using Tapatalk

  28. Dont lose faith. That's the way the cookie crumbles, I've had 100% germ rates and as low as 50% Tried paper towels, cotton and soil. Mother nature is awesome. But she can be a fickle mistress[emoji49] Puff puff pass... Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  29. Herewith the update and pics. The ''Mango'' girls are doing well, the 3 remaining ladies(from previous update)in flower for this round.(4th was male) Compact stucture and resinous sweet mango scented buds. Topping early spreads it out a bit (plant 3 topped at node 5) 1 and 2 are very compact-cause I topped a little too late at node 7. This pheno seems to stay true to its Ruderalis roots by growing and flowering vigorously, basically like most autoflowers. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
