So you have a good start to you soil. I would suggest getting some more amendments in your soil. Cannabis is quite a heavy feeder. Jamie's Garden Shop sells a pack that can just be added to your soil. If you can find worm castings it is also a good thing to add. Look at some microorganisms EM prosoil, explodegrow or biodyne envirinoc 401. Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk3 points

400w HPS is equivalent to about 200 to 250w LED, depending on what LED's they are and so on. 400w HPS is also equivalent to about 600w to 800w flourecent lighting, to produce similar(not really) bud quality at harvest 400w HPS is about equivalent to a 315CMH...but the CMH is much better tech... All depends on your budget2 points

Congrats guys!! Very well done!2 points

It's been slow going but as the temperature and daylight has increased, reveg is complete. She is dedicated to her vegetative state, and picking up speed. She is pushing a mass of branches.2 points

when i first looked into this, i found on another forum, the dude was getting about 800ppm with a yeast reactor, like mine & a little co2 bomb using lemon juice & bicarb. but anyways, i'll stop using them soon, i saw that gthydro has CO2 tabs that you drop some water & voila. you only really need to add about 3-400ppm to your air, but thats if you saturating the air in the space. the way i see it, CO2 is much heavier than air, & if you could see it, it would run out of the pipe like a stream from a tap, over your plants, so its more direct, i may be wrong, but thats how i've been looking at it. I'm sure you would hit 7-800ppm in like a 1x1m tent with this, if you do the maths, it pumps out about 360ml of CO2 in an hour, & i've defs seen a huge improvement by adding them to my room. your aquarium version, you were trying to saturate water not air. the second bottle is there to filter out the alcohol, which will fuck up your plants over night. @Za Weed Lover i would try it if i were you, costs nothing & it can only benefit your plants1 point

@PsyCLown indeed it would be in the long run, just for feeds i use about 10L per feed, twice a week, refill my bottles once a month, so i spend about R100 a month on RO. its about R3500 for a good RO system, min. so it would take 3 years to recoup, in between there are diaphragms and filters you need to keep changing too. i have looked at it but figured the cost vs the inconvenience - the bottles win for now. will look at it again in the future if i expand my grow. In the meantime i've got more important things, on which seems like a never ending list of upgrades, to do in my grow room. @iHigh so what i would do is flush with Ph'd tap water, what is the ppm? then run like the last 10L through each pot with RO, also ph'd, with the calmag & h2o2 (go like 1%), then final 1/2 strength feed wash through, ie runoff. Your plants can get chlorosis from too much chlorine, so you need to make sure its below max 300ppm.1 point

You purchase RO water for your plants? Wow ok. I can't justify that, I don't think the difference is big enough - I would purchase a RO system but not water. Isn't it normally around R1 per L? On my flowering plants I currently use at least 18L per feed and feed at least twice a week. So R36 a week, R144 a month. R360 for flowering if you are going for 10 weeks. Surely it must work out cheaper to just purchase an RO system in the long run?1 point

Topped them and made a clone of each... They should take within a few days. This Pic was on the same day I topped it... I'll take more tonight, the lower branches are already perky and happy1 point

Yeah, 400W for veg and 400W for flower - sounds decent. Just remember heat with HPS is going to be higher, so ensure you are able to keep things cool during summer. Otherwise consider LED if you need to purchase more lights, will help with heat a bit as well as electricity usage - also no need to swap bulbs.1 point

I had to go for a medical for the company I worked for. I stopped the day they told us. After a few postponements it ended up being 2mnts. I still tested positive for THC.1 point

Awesome!☺well that's sort of why I turned to the forums! I am using Organic Soil 50% with Coco coir 30% and Vermiculite 20% I bought it from the nursery (it is quite Airy). Also I am not sure about nutrients yet and I am using normal R/o water. I will be getting a proper PH testing kit as soon as I can. I will upload some pics of the grow space and light as soon as I get home! And here are some pics of my last Outdoor grow it was about two years ago from Bagseed but the final product had quite a few seeds, but this time I want to do things properly. I also don't have much pics from my last grow that is also part of why I am making a grow journal. Thanks☺1 point

Sweetos!! Following this grow for sure Give us more details. What soil are you in? What water do you use? What nutrients will you be feeding? Show us the light. And show us some of your outdoor produce1 point

So the young girl turned into a lady! Fed some nutes this morning and the weather looking awesome in Cape Town today.1 point

A bit late but a bunch has changed! ive moved from my cupboard to a 1 x 1m tent. Got to say that having a tent makes everything so much neater and easier! Due to having extra space i have a few other plants in there now too, not sure if i should add everything else to the diary ? Day #33 Plant #1 Day #33 Plant #2 Day #33 Plant #3 They took a beating during transplant but have finally turned around. Feeding only Freedom Farms - Probiotics, plant elixir - Humic acids and a tiny bit of alfalfa mulch.1 point

EC is Electrical Conductivity and is an alternative way to measure nutrient concentration in your res water. PPM is the same thing in theory, just a different value. Think of it as meters and inches, they both measure just in different values.1 point

Nice! Glad it's working well for you so far. Instead of misting the plants, you can mist the walls / reflective stuff around them and that will evaporate and in turn increase the humidity, do you have a hygrometer in there to check what your humidity is? Are you in Gauteng or WC? Being by the ocean should increase your average humidity quite a bit, in JHB the humidity has been pretty low around 25 - 32% according to my hygrometer. Extra humidity would be preferred.1 point

Im so excited and i just cant hide it in about to lose control and i just cant fight it. Lol1 point

lol, they do look good, but i think you do need a good flush, i see your tips are burning a bit too. always ph'd! otherwise it will change your mediums ph, looking at the rest of the plant now i would say dont change your ph during flush keep it where it is currently. i normally flush with tap water for the first 25L & 5L RO at the end, do my checks on runoff & then either flush more or add some low ppm nutes. check the ppm of your tapwater, if its above 250 dont add calmag. H2O2 will be good for flushing too! will add a lot of O2 into the medium & kill anything bad in the medium & you'll see them really pop afterwards. calmag is to keep your levels in the medium , if you flush through everything you'll get the same defs. check your runoff after the first 5L for ppm & ph to see where you're at & work from there, check again before you use RO, if your levels are too high on runoff then run more water. also try not to let the coco go bone dry, it will cause a salt build up & burn your plants. other than that i would say stick to what ur doing now, it looks like its working well, just reduce the nutes a bit. you want you base nutes(just the floracoco) at about 850-1200ppm (dbl check GHE recommendations), so you need to add calmag & or epsom, then test ppm & subtract that from the total after adding floracoco to give you your base nute ppm. as a rule of thumb, i always flush in the first 3 weeks of flowering, whether i've had a good or bad veg with the plant. but again i dont think theres any major issues here, a bit of epsom (sulfur def can look like calmag & N too) should help a shit load.1 point

Yesterday's wind almost ripped her apart lol! Will leave her inside as the wind is nasty in Cape Town today as well... She got her afro puff perm back this morning. Will transplant her to 20l grow bag this weekend...otherwise all good.1 point
