@highchome there is no deadline on this, except for the July 2020 prize, but you can grow em out when it suites you, within the next year they should still be pretty fresh..ish. I thinking vegging like that and possibly only sexing when you flip, keeping untested clones/mom around is a hassle and not to mention a space hungry padt time. Pop em when you ready man. Peace and buds man, stay blessed up.2 points

@Dank I was thinking of doing a quick female only grow next (from clones). Is it useful feedback for you if I germinate some of your seeds and keep them in veg during that time? Possibly even make some clones of them etc. I'm hoping that seeing them have a long veg time under lower light may tell you sometime about the genetics? If that does not help let me know and I'll see if I can rather flower them at the same time too2 points

I wouldnt mind at all.[emoji3] It's cool even though it isn't neccesary or required. But it will assist in getting the competitive juices flowing and incentivizing the growers to follow through to completion with their diaries. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk2 points

@Smelly Joe @SmokeyZero @CreX @Bospatrollie2 @highchome @Kgrows @420SA I have been thinking, seeing it is my first drop here on 420SA, and keeping in the spirit of the forum, why not offer a small prize for best diary. As I don't want to give my testers germination deadlines and so forth, perhaps a simple "Best Tester Diary" from this drop can get chosen, say by July 2020. I will sponsor the winner a pack of beans, either from the 420SA shop (if @420SA would be keen to pick a diary, or a voting poll?) or from overseas, seeing I will be putting in a small order before winter anyhowz. What do you guys think? Started thinking after SmellyJoe told me not many testers ever complete diaries, never mind smoke reports, I would be stoked for some stoked testers ek se!2 points

Today is day 7 since my seeds went into the pots. I started off by placing the seeds in some wet toilet paper, the seeds sprouted within 24hrs. Once the seeds sprouted they were added to the pots and it took them 3 days to break the surface, once they broke the surface they were placed in my grow room and have since been there for 7 days. The plants are currently under some 300w cob flood lights at 6500k. I'm running them on a 18/6 light cycle currently. Potting medium used was an organic potting soil mixed with vermiculite and perlite. I then added some bone meal and bio ocean fertilizer and mixed it all together. I have used 20L buckets as pots. I drilled holes all over the bottom of the buckets and about 3-4cm up the sides then added some stones at a depth of about 5cm, stones used were some pretty white smooth stones my wife had lying around . My grow room is approximately 1.5w x 2.5L x 1.6m high. For reflective medium I covered my walls with space blankets, yip the stuff that medics and undertakers use, it work out pretty affordable at R22 a space blanket . Size of the space blankets is approximately 2m x 1.2 m so pretty good value. The strain I chose for my first grow is the blimburn BLUE DREAM. I was pretty impressed to see all 3 seeds pop but being new to the growing hobby I killed one of the seeds by packing it to hard when I inserted it into the pots, lesson learned . Over all I'm pretty chuffed with my progress so far. Any criticism or advice is welcome. Happy farming!1 point

(I don't have permissions to change title) Thought I would share my experience here. I replanted some plants in the ground outside. Being a bit worried as I didn't have and steel trellises or wire frames I read up a bit on covering your plants with plastic bottles. This I did for all 4 plants. I found that the colour of the bottle has a HUGE role to play in this. The lighter of the two colours I used almost killed 3 out of 4 plants. Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk1 point

Thought I would update. I have three reasons I believe I struggled with these plants. 1. I used really old untreated soil from a previous "Grow". 2. It hated the environment inside after being outside so long. 3. Was just going into reveg. Below is a Pic of the plants today. Back outside. What I'm using. Worm wee. Alfalfa meal Sea grow. Heat? What are your temps in your tent and what lighting do you have? Also remember different plants will grow at different rates and grow differently. Even the same strain but when growing from seeds, there is generally still room for variance. Your Sativa plants will generally be taller than your Indicas as well, however not all Sativa plants will grow at the same rate as each other etc.1 point

Inital specimen was a poor choice... But the effects of going from hydro to soil were good and I will try it again.1 point
-
Well... It will grow very similarly... Growth patterns will be identical and flowers will be identical Only time it will grow differently is if you introduce better lights, better soil, better every thing... But if you have the best of the best... A cutting will always be just like the mother you cut her from1 point

So the fade is starting on some of the plants: Tropicana FF: GDP, note that the GDP had a fan blowing directly on it and I suspect that is the cause of the curled leaves. Looks ugly but I'd rather have air circulation in my tent. Bruce Banner: Nothing from the GSC or CBD Critical Mass yet.1 point

The 5th and final entry. Some worm casting from an Earthworm which must have been in my Organics Matter soil, it's clearly very happy. This is from the pot which has my bagseed plant inside, she is basically in week 7 of flowering too.1 point

I've got some bag seeds that I'd be happy to trade for pretty much any seeds/clones but also I'd be happy to give them to other newbie growers to get you started. (Personally I found buying good quality seeds for my first grow a bit daunting, as it is so expensive and I was expecting to screw quite a few things up ). I've got about 9 packs of 5 seeds of the WW and also 9 packs of 5 seeds of CO. I think 5 seeds per pack should give you a reasonable chance of getting at least one female after any germination issues / getting rid of males. NB these are bag seeds so its possible none germinate for you. However I've grown the WW and CO from this batch of bag seeds and got some really healthy females. I'm in Cape Town (work near CTCC, live around the Bloubergstrand area), though I can probably post if needed. Anyway I'd be thrilled to help someone out, and it would be a bonus if there was a trade as well but that's not required. Shout if anyone is interested.1 point
