Quick update on the Daq Lime auto. I took a look at a seed and it's practically ready, so I will most likely flush this weekend and then harvest in 2 weeks or so. The plant itself is looking decent and I am very impressed with the bud size for such a small plant.2 points

Trying my best to find time bud. Takes time to work through it and narrow things down. I can only see it happening later this evening. No matter what, the winners will be announced on the 10th. edit: Sorry about the delay guys. Has been a very hectic week2 points

My vortex brewer never stops! Im always on the hunt for new soils to add to my teas and store bought amendments that are biologically alive. At the moment I'm making a tea a week and some have really blown me away!! Keep posted to see what works and maybe give me some tips on what has worked for you!1 point

Good day fellow growers! The next grow is underway at long last. After moving places and getting all my necessities setup, I am super stoked to start a grow diary following the progress for you to enjoy. The setup: 80x80x180 Tent 6 inch HIT Fan + 6 inch filter This time around going for two smaller 15 litre DWC cooler boxes instead of one 30 litre cooler box Regent 9500 Duel Air Pump, one airstone in each DWC pumping 120l/h of oxygen to each plant Lumii Cool Tube for HID lighting Starting off with the 250W MH bulb just until I get 3 nodes or so and then will swap out for the 400W MH bulb. My intentions going with two cooler boxes this time around is to experiment with longer flowering time as I do not have to keep one plant in vegetation as long for potentially the same yield and also maybe get some beefier buds in the end. PH sitting at 5.7, PPM is 250, reservoir temp chilling at a cool 20C and humidity currently sitting at an average of 35%. I do occasionally throughout the day give the girls a quick light spray with 6.0 PH water. Seedling strength nutes in the reservoirs, specifically Nutriplex trio. Light is set to 18/6 as I believe in giving the ladies sleep. Now for the fun part! I have already come to a bit of a snag with one of the ladies. Leaves have been slowly turning pale and yellow and her stem has been slowly losing strength. Decided to leave her alone for two days and prop her up with some wire but haven't seen any recovery, so I decided to take the plunge and split open the rockwool to investigate the root development. Now usually I would have just germinated a new seed, the plant that is currently doing fine took only a week to get to this point so I wouldn't lose anytime with the harvest by just popping a new seed, but I decided I want to learn a bit more on the recovery and nature of seedlings and maybe if someone comes to find themselves in a similar situation and they really can't afford to lose the seedling, then this may help. For disclosure, I germinate using the paper towel method until the taproot is about a cm long and then pop them into 5.5 PH rockwool, keep the rockwool on a windowsill until the first razer leaves appear and then into the tent they go. So here is what I found going on inside the rockwool: It appears the root formation got stuck by the seed's shell. What I am going to attempt to do is place what is left of the current stem into the rockwool right up until the plant's cotyledons and hopefully the plant will repurpose it's stem as it's initial roots. The whole seedling is now protruding through the whole rockwool and is touching the bottom of the net pot. I am expecting that the bubbles created in the reservoir will produce an aeroponics affect and feed the roots from below the netpot until the roots have grown sufficiently enough to reach the water of the reservoir. Below to the left is the outcome of the recovery setup for the struggling seedling and to the bottom right is the root forming on the healthy plant below the net pot. Next update I hope to report some recovery of the struggling seedling! Happy growing to the rest of you. Edit: Forgot to mention the strain! Going once again for Sweet Deep Grapefruit from Dinafem and hoping to improve on my last batch.1 point

Will be growing three plants, each one in a different medium, i.e. Just Cannabis, Freedom Farms & The Grow Station. Would have liked to grow more than one plant per medium but money and space is limited. Seeds were soaked for 24H and planted today in 1.5l pots with FF Seedstarter. Although both JC & TGS states that their soil is good from seed to harvest, I don't want to take chances.. They will be transplanted to 20l Fabric Pots and start off with only feeding with water and maybe adding some tea. Biobizz on standby if needed.1 point

Evening. Many animals benefit from cannabis. Friend ours has a 17jr old Jack Russel that had arthritis and was in constant pain, made her some cannabutter. She gives her dog only a knife points worth every day and it made a huge difference. She seems without pain and can walk and run normally. Cheers. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk1 point

I can say I did not see any negative to throwing it straight into the res I have yet to dable in teas, I haven't intended on using this grow as yet but whenever I am suggested something I'll always look it up You got any past posts on teas I can lookup or would you do me the kindness of a crash course?1 point
-
All by hand. I have a very good gardener. Thank you for saying I have a sweet garden. I planted many fruit trees as well, so they will also benefit from the tea. i shall keep a spot light on them at night. I have a Yorkie that suffers from stress when she is away from me. One day she began eating the leaves and a few flowers that fell on the floor. I noticed it calmed her down some what. Dare I say she was stoned that night. Something I cannot relate to as I don't do "Dagga" smiles. She slept like a baby.1 point

That stuff is organic as fuck haha!! I put some in my teas... But way to wary to go straight into the res... Let's see how it goes though!! Will you be using any teas this grow?1 point

These ladies are gonna chow light then will move them closer Schweet, will get myself some epsom salts I tested the fire juice in the hydro during the last few weeks of flowering in the last grow. The dude at the shop said I can use it from when I switch to flowering onwards. Can't tell for sure yet the difference between using it and not using it, will take a few rounds to find out1 point

I think i need to study this much further. I have an Acre of land and that is why I made so much. I have a lot of feeding to do with my roses and grapes I also grow. Did u read my question regarding if I may plant outside.1 point

The only thing that would kill the seeds is heat from the light. Outdoor seeds love life, and the sun is a billion trillion times stronger than a 250. I had lanky growth and major stretch until I brought my plants up closer to the light... As long as ventilation is good, they will thrive. The calmag is first prize, but the nutriplex is okay with calcium, get yourself a 500g Epsom salts from pnp and that's the mag in calmag. Excellent addition to the hydro and super cheap. Are you putting fire juice in the hydro??1 point
-
Definitely been taking the 'less is more' approach since the seedling got crippled. Going to lower it slowly over the next few days to the optimal distance. Will look into the calmag supp, I haven't dabbled much in supps apart from Freedom Farms Fire Juice and Kelpak. Next seeds will be germinated and placed into jiffies. Just wanted to use the last of the rockwool cubes that I had lying around from when I first bought all my stuff1 point

And here they are today!! Growth has been good since transplant.1 point

@Vanessa here's the tea section. I try to be as diverse as I can! Here's another tea I brewed a few days ago. I neglected it a bit and left it to brew for 65 hours about... And wow what a sludge fest lol!! I think the brew started to monoculture a bit and the microbes had consumed all the molasses I gave them. But all good! I gave it to all my plants and garden plants... They love it so much!! This brew was very basic. 1 handful of earthy soil(I need to get more from the Forrest) 50ml EMProSoil A sploosh or 2 of mollasses 50ml milk (microbes love milk) 20ml or so humic acids All the brown sludge is microbe populations - this was a very bad ass tea1 point
-
Oi!! Nice bru! I like the setup I would get the seedlings closer to the light... 60cm or even 40cm... The 250 isn't super powerful and there is little chance to burn your seedlings. The ppm is sharp I like to add a bit of calmag in after iv added nutes. The nutriplex lacks that after a few weeks. Shame that poor seed!! I would move away from rockwool in favor of jiffies. Keep us updated! I'm subbed1 point

@420SA When is the poll going to be up?1 point

Maybe your friend started doing some exercise? I skimmed through the following which suggests that there is a THC concentration increase in blood plasma after exercise or starvation, due to release from stored cannibinoids in fat cells. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4270258/1 point
-
THC is fat soluble so if your friend has excess fat stores it was a possible that it releases over time. But it should not go up. But laboratories can have a variance of 10% on tests and still be accredited. Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk1 point

Much better after the 2nd spray. 1 more should do the trick and finish cleaning up that PM.@Smeegol Thanx again for the recipe. You saved me a headache and probably my grow. LoL. Sent from my FIG-LX1 using Tapatalk1 point

Not sure if I should start a new thread as I haven't graduated from my training wheels just yet... Germinated a new batch of 6... from what I was told by my friend...2 cheese, 2 skunk and 2 bag seed... can't remember which is which as I was too geroek the night to recall... 4 of them popped up last night...still waiting on the other 2...will see when I get home later. Got some grow bags on Takealot and will use bottled Aura water this round... Thinking of trying Kelpak organic seaweed extract as well... Still have a good amount Nitrosol left over so will feed when the time comes...soil from Hart nursery in Ottery works well so will stick to it1 point

Heat? What are your temps in your tent and what lighting do you have? Also remember different plants will grow at different rates and grow differently. Even the same strain but when growing from seeds, there is generally still room for variance. Your Sativa plants will generally be taller than your Indicas as well, however not all Sativa plants will grow at the same rate as each other etc.1 point

Finally got everything and got around to mixing it, quite a satisfying task. And i think the end product looks fantastic. Can't wait to grow with this, thinking it needs something special.1 point

So since you asked soo nicely Mr Smelly, here are some pics! The two Charlottes Angels before defoliation (they had a serious defoliation around a week ago)... The leaves got burnt from the pyrol / neem spray I did as I could not do it at lights out: After defoliation: Some pics of the Daquari Lime, she is doing mighty fine. I took a seed from her the other day, certainly not ready. Now to try give you an idea on the size difference between the Charlottes Angel and the Daquari Lime... This is what happens when you get a photoperiod instead of an autoflower and you need to keep her vegging until you have space in your flower tent. I am underfeeding her and keep having to top and defoliate the charlottes angel to keep them in check.1 point

Okay so because this will sorta be Perpetual... Not in the sense that I will have one tea and keep it alive... But I will be regularly making teas, my aim is one a week to super beef up my gardens biolife, but we will see how it goes! I have one on the go now, so let me give you a few pics. First one is the day I mixed all the ingredients, and the 2nd Pic is the teeming micro life on the compost sock. I will be up pretty early tomorrow to water it on my ladies, and my little veggie patch... And the rest of my garden. 18l of this vortex brew is enough for an entire farm!!! I'll be using it in quite a bit less diluted... Pretty much full strength1 point

So frustrating. I just found this, so I know the feeling... I'm going to be checking plants a lot more closely from now on (https://www.420sa.co.za/topic/2119-highchome/?do=findComment&comment=32597)0 points
