Alright guys Let me first say that this one was incredibly tough to decide on. So many factors to consider and weigh up against each other. No doubt some of you will be really disappointed and feel hard done by and I understand that. Please just keep in mind though that it was extremely tight this month with no clear cut winners. It so easily could've gone another way. What it basically boiled down to this month was photography skill, execution and something a little different. In 3rd place... @PsyCLown In 2nd place... @High_grade.420 And in 1st Place... @Kgrows Epic photos guys. Congrats! Please can you guys drop me a PM with the following details: Your name Delivery Address Contact Number3 points

Congrats @High_grade.420 and @Kgrows There were some fantastic entries all around! Well done to everyone else as well. A big thank you to the sponsors as well and of course @420SA. Cannot wait to get my Freedom Farm goodies!2 points

@PsyCLown The heatsink he offered was not wide enough for the boards, ended up just taking the lights at R1200.00 each, R2400.00 total. Quick count got 148 LED's per a board. The lights arrived a few days after ordering with 10x Sugar Black Rose x Afghan Kush (reg) seeds. Seeds were just in a bank bag so don't really expect much probably won't bother growing them. @growopz As for the power consumption, my boss has agreed to let me to do my microgrow in my air conditioned office, so he will be fitting the bill for utilities. Here's a few pics of my DIY light, used what ever I found laying around the workshop.2 points

All seeds sprouted, going to wait until roots reach sides of pot before transplanting in the various mediums.2 points

All good so far, well except for the Medical Mass that did not surface. It germed and grew a root of a few millimeters and nothing further. I planted Royal Highness in its place last night.2 points

Those pics were taken on Monday morning before work, and this is from this morning, super veg mode ON2 points

Hi everyone I have this issue with this one White widow clown that have purple stems. I have the same clone that dont have this issue. I think it's a nutrient deficiency but which one? Any ideas?. Been feeding them kelpak and compost tea. The plant with the purple stems was in Coco purlite mix when I got it from highcome. I transplanted it in soil but kept the Coco perlite mix. I've read somewhere online this is common with Coco. Any of the more experienced guys that can give some info please.1 point

Nice, I think 2 would be the limit in terms of a nice spread and good light penetration. The LM301B are awesome diodes! Please create a grow diary and keep us posted with your grow. Are you going to be using a tent to grow in? Also what light cycle do you plan on using? If it is in an office where people are and with electronic equipment light leaks would be a concern of mine - however since it is an autoflower you can minimize the dark period duration... You could even run the light for 24 hours a day (never have a dark period).1 point

That is likely the draw from the wall then, I still suspect the actual power which the LED's are receiving is around 60W, 80W at a push considering the max rated draw per LM301B diode is 0.57W So if they are putting out 60W of power and it's drawing 106W, the efficiency is pretty shit. 44W of power being wasted. Almost double the power - not something you need to be concerned about since you are not paying for electricity but just something to keep in mind for others who are interested in possibly purchasing these lights. Running two lights will lead to 88W of power being "wasted" and running it on 18 hours a day (for veg) leads to 65 KWH per month of wasted electricity and a total usage of 153KWH per month. So let's put this into an easy to understand rand value, the below calculations are based on a rate R1.82 per KWH. 2x Circular lights per month will cost you R278.4, this is for a total output of around 120W of LED lighting. Of that amount R118.30 is wasted due to the lack of efficiency. Convenient solutions for sure, not light on electricity. Rather close to an HID setup actually. If they are legit LM301B diodes, they are great diodes! The same LED's I run actually. How many plants do you plan on growing under that light?1 point

@PsyCLown According to the video above stats are as follows: Power: 106W PAR output: 159 PPFD Efficiency: 1.49 PPFD/Watt I don't have the gizmos to test myself.1 point

Thank you all!! Really appreciate it1 point

Lol sorry man, wakng and baking, its ol afr for "point and shoot". My plants look better than the pictures i take, so total noob with the camra. Yeh I thought u would hit the first place with that trich shot, tough to judge these things im sure. Congrats man, as well to @High_grade.420 and everybody involved. Enjoy the boooty!!1 point

@PsyCLown Correct, the fan is blowing over the heatsink. It think I went a little overboard there as the heatsink barely gets warm without the fan running. There are 148 LED's per a board. Will start a grow journal when I get going to see how they do.1 point
-
Alright cool, nice heatsink you made there, I assume the fan is blowing air in and across the "fins"? R2400 plus the heatsink is not a terrible price, although curious as to how many LED's are on each board - how it may compare against a more traditional Quantum Board.1 point

Hi and welcome Start a grow diary when you do get started. There are lots of very knowledgeable people here who will help.1 point

Thank you @420sake. Yeah, I see the whingers regularly disrupting the economy "to get ahead" here, on the N2 and other byways. Nothing changes....I was chatting with a young lady from Uganda last week. A beautiful person and although we were two very different tones, we immediately got on like a house on fire. She just wanted to get back there because of the "complainers", as you so euphemistically put it. I felt for her. I'm not sure you need to quite achieve a 3 on the Moh Scale for ones under tackle to live in the land of Fosters and flies, but it does help one's cojones if you apply some level of tongue biting when conversing with the locals.1 point
-
Welcome home brother. Don't mind the circus here - the complainers are usually those who do not know how to work for a comfortable life style! You are welcome to share a cold one on my veranda anytime! All I can say - you musta have had brass nuts to last 12 years Respect.1 point

Unfortunately they seem unstable I’ve had a large amount of mutants that did not make it past sprouting stage . I have about 4 that are alive so will see how they go.1 point

So i repotted this girls sister from 5lt to 10lt. Getting her ready to head into budding section soon as the sister comes out. Ima try my second harvest in only 10lt pots instead of the 25lt. They grow too big for my current budding section. So hoping with the 10lt to have better control1 point

Day 120 / Day 68 of Flower (just over midway through week 9 of flower) These are not all 8 / 9 week strains. In fact none are considering none are ready. It seems as if the GSC and Chocolope will be taking longer to ripen, the CBD Critical Mass I am unsure of but has a hectic fade going already. I'd rather wait a bit longer as I want to make sure I get a decent amount of CBD from it. I will check the trichomes this Friday evening if I get a chance, otherwise on Saturday and hopefully I can at least chop one or two of the plants. I had a whoopsie last weekend where I bent the one branch on the Tropicana, so I decided to cut it and dry it. It's busy curing at the moment. A few pics of the ladies, not the best but at least you get an idea on how things are progressing.1 point

Progress with the cripple seedling. Getting back good colour and new leaf growth is forming. A closer look at the bottom side of the net pot shows there is new root growth at the stem and surprisingly no new growth on what was left of the initial root growth. Started a schedule of foliar spray with very light nute 6.0 PH water with a little bit of Kelpak to help with the root growth. The healthy lady is ramping up on root production and leaf growth is sparking up. Been having some humidity issues. Tried to make a homemade humidifier by wrapping the intake ducting with an old lappie and running it down into a bowl of water. The idea was that the passive air would pull moisture off the towel as it came into the tent but I ended up just blocking the intake and caused an even bigger drop in humidity, as low as 13%. Current solution is to revert back to no towel and just keep a large bowl of water within the tent. I've also opened up one of the tent vents on the right side of the tent. Humidity averaging 25%, not bad not terrible. Should slowly rise as the plants get bigger. Lastly, replaced the clear tubing for the airstones with thicker, black tubing as there were signs of slime forming on the clear tubing. Hoping to see the cripple's roots hit the water this time next week1 point
