Took it out the soil and scraped the edge, then manually cracked it by splitting the 2 halves with the fine cutting edge of my pocket knife. Whats good everyone! This weeks has been a good one, the girls have finished their stretch and are finally putting out. None of the chempies looks like the other, not sure if i should be happy or upset about this? Lets start with the shortest girl, Chempie #3. She has stretched the least among the 3 but started putting out earliest The Medium height girl, Chempie #1. She had a little bit more stretch in her compared to #3 but also started putting out trichomes in week 3 Then we have the biggest girl, Chempie #2. She looks about a week behind the others, Continued stretching until the end of week 4. Girls are getting tap water ph'd to 6--6.8. Weekly top dressing of bokashi and malted barley. I had WPM introduce into my tent from a clone, best preventative measures i can take to keep it at bay until i harvest?

Do I give the Epsom salt water daily or every other day? And thanks guys for the I put.

Purple stems are very rarely genetic and are more stripey purple than a solid purple. I would give the good ol calmag a go. If you don't have any handy... It's chilled, I'm more wanting the mag in the cal mag... Purple stems like that are directly related to a magnesium deficiency and is easily corrected with Epsom salts. You can get some from pnp for about 20 bucks... And it will last quite some time. Mix as directed on the box and the plants will get better. New growth on the stems should become nice and green again... And over time the old stems will go green too

I'm by no mean experienced but according to me, if the plant is growing fine and not showing any other deficiencies other that the purple stems it could be either weather (cold) or a phenotype of the strain... I would not worry to much, if the only issue you have is purple stems then you are okay

Starting Germination was a bit slow, probably thanks to colder weather that I was expecting so I did not keep the seeds warm. Two have germinated and have been moved to jiffys and I've put five more back into kitchen paper after scuffing them a bit more.

Hi everyone I have this issue with this one White widow clown that have purple stems. I have the same clone that dont have this issue. I think it's a nutrient deficiency but which one? Any ideas?. Been feeding them kelpak and compost tea. The plant with the purple stems was in Coco purlite mix when I got it from highcome. I transplanted it in soil but kept the Coco perlite mix. I've read somewhere online this is common with Coco. Any of the more experienced guys that can give some info please.

I want to grow in a location that is 25°C on average in the day, and can go up to 44°C in the summer, but in the night temperatures grow very cold, and can reach 5°, will the plants be okay with the fluctuation if temperature from night to day, and will it possibly cause colouring of the plants and bud? Because ice on containers at night does it... any ways and theres 86% percent humidity roundabouts night and day so will the plants enjoy that or more feel discomfort?

@Jedi Messiah howzit, did you start growing your GG yet? I'm currently growing GG also outdoors, They about 6weeks old now, but looking quite small, hopefully once I get better pots and soil next month they'll get a growth spurt.

I went with pure coco/perlite and am very happy. I'd say do pure coco/perlite, once you start adding other things to it you are moving towards an soil + additives grow. I.e. coco/perlite has the ideal water to air retention you don't really want to mess with that. If you want to do soil + coco etc, then you should treat that as a soil grow IMO. If that is what you are interested in then take a look at the articles (podcasts too) at: https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/toc/#growing-cannabis I'm no expert, just about to finish my first coco grow. But I'm happy to try help / point you in the right direction if you need any help

Never been too worried myself with purple stems. In fact, I've always kind of seen them as a good sign of a maturing plant

I wouldn't go in with every watering... Luckily it's very hard to overdose with magnesium... But it can happen... I would make do a magnesium feed once a month with one of your feeds. Not sure if you have a ppm meter, but aim for 400ppm... Which is not much... If you don't have one... It's okay... Go in at a good sized table spoon measure per 10l water and that should help. I doubt you will use all 10l on one plant... But by the sounds of it, all your plants could benifit from a mag boost. I agree with @Dank on the Foliar spray... It will help ease the plant up a bit... But the soil drench is needed. As for the salts, Epsom salts are a vitally important salt for any soil.. I agree... Not knowing what you are putting into the soil could really muck things up. But I think he is safe with this one

@nakes before you go heavy on the epsomsalts, let me mention purpling on the stems, could mean a variety of things, assuming it is not a purple strain, also assuming it is not a plant busy finishing up in flower. So assuming the above it is usually a Ph problem in your medium, I have been playing around with cocopeat for a couple of months now. What happens is at the wrong PH your plants start absorbing elements it does not like so much of like iron etc, usually responsible for the red veins in the leaves, and blocking out things it needs. There are some infographs here on the forum showing what gets absorbed at what PH. Figure out PH and EC in the pots first and go from there, would be my advice. I try keep coco around 5.8 - 6 ph. Was your Coco buffered with calcium nitrate? If not you might have to do a flush with calmag+, or a 1:1 flush with RO water, then a lower stregth nutrient solution if the calmag is already contained in the product.

Well done with the rescue @Bospatrollie2 that plant made some solid beans and nice to see you able to rescue it! Hope it grows well for you man, next time im in a situation like that, ill follow your method, not just my dirty fingers snapping off taproots

Hey Mr nice guy Welcome to the forum. Plenty knowlegable people here. I grow outdoors with my own soil. As you know that ''soil'' brand is not highly regarded for reasons. (wtf [emoji16]) What I can see is that the bottom 2 seedlings are struggling and presenting with burnt leaf tips/crispy tips. Possibly due to the soil ph or the soil being too 'hot'. Most cannabis seedlings don't need any nutrients at all for the first 3 weeks- only water. (Not even epsom) Would suggest transplanting to a more suitable medium like Freedom farms or Organics matter if possible. Cheers. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

Hello folks. I'm the WC regional rep/transport manager/storeman/cleaner/technician and tea boy for a small company supplying speciality automation components. Occasional chooffer, father of two wonderful adult children, husband of one sometimes happy wife. I like to do a bit of carpentry and am an aspiring blacksmith of 5 years.
