  1. Looking good! Those plants need to really grow quite a bit before they reach the net Im not sure you have taken into consideration the stretch? How I scrog is, I put the scrog near the current canopy, maybe a bit higher if the plants are small, then I let the plant grow through the net, and every few days, I pull it under the net and let it grow up again.... Always maintaining the canopy all the way through veg. Then I flip and let the plants do their thing. You must not do too much training in bloom! Trust in your veg and your scrog

  2. Hope you all recovered after the Bokke's victory! Some updates on my girls. My four Purple Haze seeds turned out 50/50 m&f cant wait to put them under 12/12 light. Oh anyone grown Purple haze? apparently the purple color only comes out under cold temperatures! Purple haze on Left Ok so after my last batch of flowering,I left her on her own and she grew past the lights, was a bad idea. Got this time a support system on the wall where she can lean on and i can scrog her. Also i got rid of the white light in flowering, was giving to much stretch in the buds. They going into week 4 of flowering.

  3. Companion plants are quite cool and interesting. You can use them in many ways. Attractants- sacrificial plants for insects to munch on instead of chowing your crop. Lettuce, celery, tomatoes. Mites and bugs love these plants. Repellants- plants that by nature repel insects by smell/scent or bad taste. Catnip, rosemary, mints, marigolds/afrikaners. We grow and use our fresh herbs, so I use sacrificial companion plants. Cheers Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  4. Put up a DIY scrog net I made with rope and cable ties. It also gives me a nice indication of where I am aiming for the canopy to be. Otherwise, still smooth sailing. Growth is continous and healthy. The two plants are looking pretty level, I want them to hit and spread on the net at the same time.

  5. I've recently had a case of mites that I had to deal with. After that I started looking into companion plants. My question is ..... if im growing indoors in a tent can I just have the companion plants in its own opts in the same room or grown tent ? I've checke a few videos online and its mostly outdoor with the companion plant in the same pot. Please advise anyone that has experience using companion plants... Thanks

  9. Well, if you want to smoke the bud then you would still need to dry it. You could use the fresh bud to make bubble hash though I believe, have not done this myself. A hermie is a plant which has both male and female parts, so the plant will pollinate itself. Once a plant has become pollinated / seeded, it spend more energy on forming the seeds and the quality of the bud tends to decrease... Plus smoking seeded bud is frustrating and more of a hassle.

  10. When drying you want to try and prolong the drying, keep the temps down and try keep the humidity around 55 - 65% If the RH is too high you have a higher chance of getting mold, if it's too low it may dry out too quickly. If the temps are too high, the terpenes can end up affected in a negative way and you can end up with bud which does not taste great. You also want to dry in a dark place as light can negatively affect the bud. Regarding THC from the drying bud, I do not think so. The highest risk is when you smoke it, if she is around - the 2nd hand smoke could possibly lead to positive test results.

  11. Nice! As long as you have room to raise it. It looked as if it was already at the top of the tent.

  12. No if the plant was pollinated or not wouldn't affect the plant re-vegging. Also others in your area may have had males which spread pollen to your plants. So even if you have no male plants, your plants can still become pollinated unfortunately. The risk is a bit higher outdoors compared to indoors, but it is possible for this to happen with an indoor grow if you do not have filters to remove the pollen - I do not many (if any) of us have filters which will catch and trap the pollen.

  13. Hermied = Became hermaphrodite? A friend was at my place last week and he said that he can see that my crop has become pollinated (He's a little more clued up than I am). I'm not expert but I'm pretty sure that I removed all the males when I started this process. Can this be related? Thanks

  14. @Bakstein420 yeah the prices are a little crazy. But you can DIY it, e.g. see https://www.420sa.co.za/topic/2174-fabric-grow-bags/ I've seen easier versions two where they just use a cable tie to hold the bottom together :)

  15. Looks like revegging, agreed. I first thought it might've hermied but reveg seems more logical. You could either just chop the plant or if you want to try save it you can dedicate yourself to limiting it's light consumption but you may have do this for a while to get a reasonable outcome. Just decide how bad you want to save it.

  16. I can adjust the net and the height of the light at will @PsyCLown will adjust as necessary. @CreX might just lower the net a bit after a bit more spread after a few days. I have considered the flowering stretch. The timing in general with a scrog net is new to me, so I'm playing it as I go.

  17. I think it depends what you want from the companion plant. If using it to repel insects, I would assume keeping it in the same tent as your grow would be best.. If using it to improve soil quality then you would have to put it in the same pot. Check the link below: https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/content/136-list-of-companion-plants-for-quality-cannabis-rqs

  18. Limit to hours it gets light to 12, needs to be pure darkness with no light leaks. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  19. There are a number of varying opinions wrt red stems. I've had a number of plants with varying degrees of red colouration, from leaf stems to main and secondary branches. Plants were healthy and growing well and yielded good bud. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  20. Thanks I started harvesting the other one and it's drying now. How do I force this one to flower now? Thanks
    1 point
  21. I suspect the plant may be revegging due to the increase in hours of light. The other plant may follow suit as well. Unless you step in and force the plants to flower, they will only go into flower next year, I think around Feb / March.

  22. Looking good! Keen to see the scrog net full with buds in a few weeks time. Looking at the pictures, it appears as if height is a bit of an issue for you. The HID seems rather close to the scrog net.

  23. As a reference - This is what it looked like a few weeks back. Another thing I noticed was that this one has reddish stems but I noticed this from the very beginning. Don't know if this is relevant or not.

  24. Thanks for replying. Plants are outdoors and the gangly growth at the top is new. Could this be a flop or should I just wait it out?

  25. Afternoon Nimzo, Are the plants outdoors? Is the gangly growth at the top new? The strange growth with the weird leaves suggest that the plant seems to be revegging. I'm no expert and I'm sure some of the other more experienced members will post their reply's/opinions soon enough. Cheers Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  28. So Steve was true to his word and sent through replacement seeds. They actually arrived the following morning after talking to him, very fast delivery as it usually takes 2 days. I followed @Ill_Evan's illustration and took @Mambawana's advice and ditched the dome. 6 days later and all 3 have sprouted and are starting with their second set of true leaves. Thanks for all the advice guys.

  30. @ all the members! we need to get more entries for this month otherwise we're going to lose this awesome compo! this is what i won last month in the mystery box: a sick little glow in the dark glass bong, a mini grinder, a sexy glass pipe all excellent quality! a bunch of rolling papers & a book of gerricks, some prerolled cones & some hemp blunt pre-rolls, humidity packs & 10 seeds(keen to check these), i believe they're part of an effort to work with SA landraces.

  31. Everyone has a slightly different way to germinate seeds. Many ways will work. I like to soak in water for 12 hours, I often use a bit of trich too when doing the soak. I use distilled water but many use tap water without issues. Then I use the woolies bleach free paper towel and put the seed on there and dump the water onto the paper towel to wet it. I fold it and into a zip lock bag it goes. Between two saucers and into my veg area as its warm there. Often in 2 or 3 days there is a sprouted seed which I then carefully remove with tweezers and place into the desired medium. Out of the many seeds I've popped, only had 2 not take and I feel it was due to bad seeds as the method remained the same for all seeds. I often pop multiple seeds at the same time, so it's always the same conditions too. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  33. Sorted the humidity, without having to buy a humidifier. Lifted the light about half a ruler length and replaced the one large bowl of water in the corner of the tent to two smaller containers at the same level as the plants. Also keeping one vent open for now. Humidity is stable at 35%. Humidity is showing more in the pics because I just used foliar spray Cripple plant is doing well. Daily foliar spray with very light nutes and Kelpak. New leaf growth continues and roots are now much more visible at the bottom of the net pot. Hoping to have the roots hit the water by the end of this week Healthy plant doing the most. Fast leaf growth and roots continue developing at a fast pace since hitting the water

  34. Hello All I started my first grow a while back. These were the 2 that I was most proud of in my entire grow. Looking at this first pic, both plants looked like this which besides the leave discoloration, seems ok to me - Heads look good etc. Then yesterday, I noticed that the second plant took a dramatic turn an no longer looks like the above. It looks like this now. Something looks very wrong to me, it's as if the heads disappeared. Highly confused. On close inspection, lots and lots of these little "pods" are all over. It's confusing because these plants looked the same (first pic) a day ago and almost overnight the one completely changed. Any idea what happened here? Thanks
