  1. Just harvested a Charlotte this morning. Such an amazing strain high yielding, stable. Their are 2 phenos that I have found. A purple and green one. You can also look at Dinamed Cbd plus and Doctor Seedman CBD 30:1. I don't like growing the auto's they are a waiste of time and effort. Don't grow a mix of 1:1 cbd as you still get stoned from that. 2. After a good amount of time now with growing with DWC I am beginning to see that changing the res is beneficial if not essential. I am going to experiment with more occasional res changes and note the results. I may have gotten very lucky up until now Keep the suggestions coming my dude we are here to share and learn.

  3. I agree with @Aeradix When it comes to lighting, LED lights in particular, there are various aspects which heavily affect how well a light will work. Not all diodes are equal and the diodes make all the difference really. You can add lenses and try different layouts, if the diodes are shit the whole light will suck. Looking at PPFD map helps give you a better idea of the usable spread on the lights and how large of an area a single light will actually cover. You can also use the map to get an idea of the average efficiency for the light which can help you compare it against other LED lights (or lights in general). I feel with the COB it will have a bit of a hot spot and more than likely the spread won't be all that great. I did a quick Google search and could not find any PPFD maps or figures for the Bloombeast A520 unfortunately. Generally when looking at a light and the PPFD map, the more consistent and the higher overall average of the light, generally the better. Lights with hot spots and where they then drop in PAR very quickly outside of the hotspot is not really what you want.

  4. So I asked myself the question, " what do I do with the extra plants I have??? " Answer is, go buy some perlite and coco coir. It quite cheap if you buy in bulk and do your homework. There is a company called INFIGRO that is based in Blackheath. They're prices is good. Perlite - R220 for 100L Vermiculite - R145 for 100L Coco Coir R40 for 4.5kg block But back to the story at hand. I got myself perlite and coir as I said, then headed over to the hydro store and picked up some Calmag, a cheap pH meter (the bottle one, works OK to test pH) and headed home. Buffered the coco, flushed it and mixed up a 50 50 mix of coco perlite. Reason for going with this mix is that it's cheap, can be re-used, flushes much better and doesn't bring those fucking fungus gnats we all came to love... cough cough Freedom Farm cough cough........ I wanted to use 4 x 15L pots but sadly only had 2 spare. So I used 2 x 25L and 2 x 15L pots next run I'll do all 4 with the same size. And with that I also decided to do a little test. Main reason for getting the pH meter cause I have a bag of mineral feed used for flowering orchids. I used it once before and I worked well so I thought I'd do a test. 2 of them will be fed with Bio Bloom and the other 2 will get a mineral feed. I know there is better mineral feed out there but this is what I have on hand now and if I like the results then I'll fork out money and get better nutrition for the ladies. The Bio-Bloom plants: Shiskaberry Chocolope The 2 mineral plants: Bruce Banner #3 x Bruce Banner #3 Bruce Banner x Girl Scout Cookies The flowering light cycle will be the gas lantern cycle which means the light cycle is as follows: 8 hours on / 16 hours off. I used it on my previous grow but with that one I dropped the light cycle with 30 min every 2 weeks until I came to 8 hours on and 16 hours off. This time I am starting the cycle with the cycle at 8 /16. This method does not allow that all to well known stretch and is perfect for vegging a bit longer or for heavy Sativa dominant plants. The most stecth I noticed was 2 cm... The 1st time I heard/read about this method was on Grow Weed Easy and ever since then I always wanted to try it. Reson for the extra plants is because I love to plant seeds. I over planted and guessed I would have more males...guess I was wrong. So now I have them andagain it something I wanted to do for quite a while - side by side grow, organic vs mineral..... I know the Bruce Banner is not well trained but it was kinda last minute decision. That's about it for ins and outs on what's going down in the tent. Come on by, hang out and talk shit. Maybe even share some tips on how I fuck up .

  6. @Ill_Evan Ive had no more PH issues, guess I am back to reservoir change every week. Defs agree with @Mambawana you dont know what your plants have consumed, plus I think in my case the water looses ph stability in the 2nd week, Ive read once that CT water comes from runoff in limestone rich catchment areas.

  7. Changing the res was the correct response to your issue. You fixed 2 issues... too high Ph and unbalanced toxic nutrient ratios. I've mentioned this before and I know you have taken plants to harvest without doing this but it's best to change your res weekly for a few reasons but mainly because if you just top up you are changing the npk ratio in the res because you have no idea what your plants have eaten and what's left behind. Now you topping up with fresh nutes so what you actually doing is adding extra of what the plant is not eating a lot of. Eventually as the weeks go by you sitting with a solution that's all locked out. Especially calcium and phosphorus. Big cultivation centres have to equipment to measure what's in the water and are able to top up with only what's needed. And don't just feed your plants micro. That will cause BIG deficiencies. Everything needs a balance. One thing I can tell you is your nutrient strength was not too high. There are no signs of nute burn and nute burn doesn't initially cause leaves to droop. Please don't get me wrong I'm not telling you what to do or questioning your growing skills cos I know you can grow just by the advice you give others. I myself have joined this forum to broaden my knowledge and to have people to talk to about my favorite past time. I hope this comes across as humble as it's meant to be. All the best brothers and happy growing...

  8. Awe kewl, so if I had kept the res as is I could've just added micro, but since I've done a res change I'm going to start on just below the recommended dosage and treat that as the max. So for my 7.5 litre res each I am going to add 4ml of Nutriplex micro, gro and bloom. That should keep it just below max dosage. I do keep my water overnight before adding to the res, but when I did the res change now I just filled them straight from the hose. Had to balance the res once every few hours to get it to stabalise but it's good now. Awe @greenkush. I initially thought nitrogen toxicity but the way I've been adding nutes, lockout and high pH are the clear issues I had. I've now got a very good idea of how high a dose this particular strain can take. Second time growing this strain specifically. @PsyCLown hydrogen peroxide was something I read into when I first researched into DWC, but I decided that if I could manage the res water well enough I could avoid having to use it and since the coming of @CreX and his ultimate knowledge on teas I am now convinced one does not really need it unless in a root rot emergency. I think if you add the right bacterias to your res you can avoid the majority of the nasties.

  9. @PsyCLown I used to add 6ml to 20l of water every week with nutes change. Not sure if it did anything but this round I am doing without, so far so good.

  11. From left to right, The Grow Station, Just Cannabis and Freedom Farms. Leaves on the girl in TGS soil are much more pale than the other two. Going to give some bloom today.

  12. Very nice man. Loving this grow of yours. I will be following for sure. My vote goes towards FF from the start but even though I love their soil you can't use it indoors. Every bag I buy/bought came with an irritable supply of Fungus Gnats. So outdoors they're soil is awesome and also using it for a couple of my plants...

  13. It does look like a long shot but if it's in week 5 then I think it should be OK unless it has longer flowering time... Sent from my FIG-LX1 using Tapatalk

  14. Only a month on flower for those? Surely it would be a bit more time required? They look a bit sativa like too, which would def make me think they need more than a month to flower and mature still. Just my 2c though, do you check trichomes before harvesting?

  15. Week 5 of flowering and veg So far the flood light only veg seem to be bushing out nicely, just realized my timing not great as that my flowers still have about a month to go..... They are gonna be HUGE! lol

  16. So there are a few which have THC of less than 1% and a decent amount of CBD. Dutch Passion has Charlottes Angel which I am busy growing out for reasons very similar to you. I believe @SkunkPharm has grew it out a few times and says no high from it at all. CBD is upto 15 or 16% on the Charlottes Angel apparently.

  18. @Za Weed Lover I recently had issues with germinating some GSR seeds. Out of 4 seeds only 1 started a tap root and then died shortly after, the other 3 did nothing, I got hold of Steve from GSR and explained the issue as well as my germination technique and they replaced the seeds. I would recommend contacting BNB and GSR, most likely they will replace your beans.

  19. It's just not a good impression when you're bag seed grows like fire and you then buy the "good" stuff and it turns into this... We germinated and grew the autos in 3 different soils... Nothing.. 3mnts to date and u won't even get a puf.

  20. @CreX thanks for the clarification, I must've misunderstood the material I read about it while researching whether changing my res every week was necessary Lockout I can also agree with. I think either way a res change was needed pH was at 6.4 and ppm was at 700. Recently found out 700 ppm is 1.4 EC You rate just micro to pH water will last me to switch? I'm willing to try it Added Epson salts right in the beginning but I will be picking up some proper cal-mag on Tuesday and using that

  22. I have tried some, but I did 24 to 48 hour soak and put between paper towel. But then the second time round in the same plate and on the heating pad. Cover them 7n a breathable paper. I have one more left and want to try one last time. So open to anything. Putting them straight in the ground it just to risky Sent from my SM-A705FN using Tapatalk

  24. For that price you could get 2 240w quantum boards. Just my opinion. Enjoy the lights. I would build a QB board with Samsung Lm301b strips. Or if your not into DIY buy something from growopz or aeradix with local warranty. Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk
