  2. Week 6 flowering done..... Nothing much to see or say Loving my new "scrog rack"! Left plant the Purple Haze..... So far she is a pleasure to grow.. Strong growth and nice straight branches with big leaves. I do have noticed that she is more sensitive to PH fluctuations than the other girl. Gave these a trim today and made some clones!

  3. Good questions, no need to apologize, that is what this group is about. There is a bit of debate about this, I have heard people say light intensity doesn't matter much, as long as you grow a healthy male, etc, etc. My personal view is that a male that grew under a t5 might have some children that doesn't do well in the sun. Just a theory. I try to breed under the sun as well as under the hps when possible, hps for seeds I am aiming to grow inside, and the sun for outdoor varieties. Some males will take a bit longer to flower than others, in a controlled environment you could leave the male to make a fat flower. Harvesting males as soon as the pollen starts to drop will result in the least pollen, waiting about 2 weeks after first pollen drops will give you a lot more pollen, you can take a look at @CreX indoor competition diary, a very good example of a male flowering. Edit: grabbed the link -

  5. I've seen a lot of people (across social media platforms) make the same mistake I personally made when I started growing, and that is thinking that any soil will be good enough. The idea that heading down to BenBell and picking up whatever they've got is a good idea because "I'm still starting out". In reality, starting out with a good soil will make you see how great growing can be, instead of wondering what's wrong and trying to diagnose the problems that come from bad soil. If I had a PSA to give the new growers it would be: AVOID HEAVILY BARKY SOIL/BARKY POTTING SOIL Particularly avoid the Culterra mixes you find at your local gardening stores. While these bark filled mixes will work for a lot of plants, cannabis is not one of them. They are inherently acidic and the bark causes excessive nitrogen in the soil. The result is that you're left with plants which are getting burnt from the nutrients while being unable to absorb them because of the acidic nature. The result is plants that show both deficiencies and burns in early life, and rarely grow bigger than a ruler. There is a striking similarity between almost all of the plants which are unlucky enough to be placed into these mixes. I've grabbed some other people's images from social media just to show how uniform the problems tend to be. Invest in good soil! You're investing money into beans, don't waste that money by putting them into bad soil.

  6. This has been getting shared today and appears to be legitimate based off internal linking in the document. While it doesn't impact the recreational market or provide much insight into the home grower, it does provide a lot of information as to where the government is heading in terms of medicinal. The proposed model seems similar to the Canadian one, which isn't great - but it's certainly progress. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1L4oW7YajBkvmMX_XHeIYozc6TESs99yG/view?usp=sharing

  7. Wow I can't imagine moving house... I would make sure I grow enough bud to last me a year coz that's how long it would probably take to set-up again. Will let you know when I get some pollen... sharing is caring...

  8. That is exactly what happened to me this winter Had one male but he didn't make the cut, will get searching again soon, moving house is no breeders friend! Best of luck man, may the frost be with you!

  9. Thanks for the response. So maybe what I should do is keep the males in my flower room till they just begin flowering and then move them to their 400W cupboard till I collect sufficient pollen. Okay so that's the plan... exciting times ahead... watch how I only find females now that I want males... Murphy's law...

  10. If you had read the sulphur discussion you would know that one option is to import the correct product, not sure why you would offer your opinion if you were going to state the obvious.

  11. Hahaha @Smelly Joe - again you make me larf (again) You are so right. I am here to learn, and MAN - it can get confusing. Just stick to basics For me - do not buy feminised seedz if your green at the gills - they don't like outside grows much. Save your cash and buy DP! We need a South African mainstay landrace!

  12. Do you guys flower your males indoors or outdoors? If indoors how critical is the light intensity? I have a 400w hps for them but would t5s be sufficient? Sorry for all the questions... But last 1... how many weeks on average do you flower your males? Till you have enough pollen or till the end so that you can complete your logs on its traits etc. Thanks in advance.

  14. So today was one of those strange days. I felt a bit irritated and decided to take the pipe, grinder and some bud and drive up to the mountain. It quite close to where I live and it's relaxing. So while driving and finding spots to place the cooked rice to make some BIM a bit later on the year I found these 2 decaying pine trees.... I scratched a bit and when I checked I had a handful of decomposed pine tree. So I decided to take it home and add it to the brew thats currently going. Before I went home I stopped to pick up some bananas. Read that if you make a tea from it it'll help with the budding phase adding extra Potassium. Whether it helps or not, I'm not sure but fuck it... I added it and gave it to the ladies. The Mineral ladies got......this..... And now for the ladies and how they look... 1 Shiskaberry : 2 Chocolope And the 2 Mineral ladies... I ph'd the water to 5. 5 this round and let see what happens. Very excited about the new meter coming next week. 3. Bruce Banner x Bruce Banner 4. Bruce Banner x Girl Scout Cookies

  15. Well done. I'm pretty sure they will recover soon and just show their gratitude. That pot they were in's soil didn't look all that good. I have the same pots and they have become quite expensive....

  17. And here we go... She showed herself and at that exact moment she was snatched up and repotted to a 25L pot. I might leave her now for about a week to settle in before I pull het down and start her training....... Might even start this afternoon. Her 1st rays of sun hits her at 06:50 and the last direct sun is at 16:45. That's a really decent amount of sun for her and the other ladies so I'm sure she's gonna have fun growing where she is at. She will get her usual dose of Seagro but hopefully if all works out then I'm picking up a 25L can of guano next week. Then I'll be more involved in the teas. I am giving the plants 2 feedings a week and it's gets a lot when it comes to feeding. Any good uses for rabbit droppings??? Read its a good source minerals for plants and thought about adding that to a tea brew, once composted and stable of course.

  18. Well it's perfect that you don't want to try fill that space. Atleast you can have space for a cupboard or something that you can store your nutes and general growing related items. And space to move around and work on your plants. 400grams combined yield would be a good yield out of those lights. I know a lot of guys are using LEDs, maybe they can point you in the right direction So you can slowly upgrade in the future. You will win on the heat issue, on consumption or yield more with the same power draw.

  19. Hi and welcome. Yeah those temps are too high. It will cause too many issues to mention. At minimum you need an extractor fan with a static intake from the side of the shed that gets the least direct sunlight. If the sheds roof overhangs the side a bit I would put the ballast there in an enclosure with the lid off or alternatively it should be in front of the extractor so that it's heat is directly extracted.

  21. Did some more canopy training, it's a bit more even and exposed. Harvest was a little airy, have to step up my game! Trying some leaf tucking on the 3 week old.

  22. Triacontanol is available from a company called inteligro. It's about 700 for 1ltr. The dosage is crazy low. 8ml to 100ltrs. Yes it definitely works. Speeds up growth and really bushes out a plant. I've physically noticed a difference in a week. I aggressively leaf stripped 2 of my GG clones. The plant sprayed with triacontanol recovered and grew all its foliage back a lot faster. Atm I'm testing higher doses on some clones I've got outdoors, my guinea pig plants for testing everything. I'm checking to see if higher doses can cause any mutations. I have not noticed a difference when mixed into Nutes but definitely with foliar feeding. I don't know the difference between the 2 sulphurs as yet. But I'm on it. And no I don't spray anything in flower. The latest I've ever sprayed was day 14 and that was only once and it was an emergency.
