  1. Yeah, mutations do not feel all that rare. Second one I have had so far, the other was from a regular seed. Yes, the autoflowering trait does pass on, I am taking 2x autoflowers and crossing them. If you were to take a photoperiod and an autoflower and cross them then I suspect some may be autoflowers and others photoperiods and you'd need to keep breeding them to ensure all are autoflowers and the autoflower trait is kept as a dominant trait.

  2. Hey all, So I am planning on running some autos as I will have plants in my flower tent but my veg section will be rather empty. So instead of turn things off, I thought it may be a good idea to run some auto flowers. I have started with a Dutch Passion Blackberry Kush Auto, started her in soil and then moved her to coco and she has not been happy with the move... on top of that my PH was off so I have decided to start spraying her with some STS to get some pollen and then I germinated another Blackberry Kush and starting her in coco and will be pollinating her with some pollen. The colours coming through on the auto are great! Looks as if one would end up with dark bud for sure, always nice having attractive looking bud. So this is the unhappy auto which I have started to spray with STS, you can see the colour coming through. Apparently all the sugar leaves and bud can end up that nice dark colour: This be the new one I germinated, has a bot of a mutation going on, 3 cotyledons too: I think I put her into coco on 20 / 21 November? I have some other auto seeds, just deciding what to grow out next. May start popping some more next week once I have decided which to grow. I also have some Fastbuds on their way, I may grow those out as opposed to more Dutch Passion - will see.

  4. Got the lights set to 140W. About max 40cm from canopy. Refreshed the res again this week and increased EC to 2.0. Varied the pH quite well this week. Veg continued:

  5. Using EC definitely avoids confusion but it also does make adding flowering additives in small amounts a bit tricky.

  7. I had an issue with my hps led light where the center grew faster than the outskirts.... It is possibly due to the light being centralized with only one source of light( where the qbs will definitely make things more even) ... But you could bend a few that would be getting the primest light down alil so that the outskirts don't lose out on some light in late flower.

  8. With dosing. I prefer using tap water. Our water quality is good. 120ppm out the tap. In order: Epsom salts 0.5g-1g/ltr veg to flower +-80ppm. Late flower 1.5g/ltr to boost the sulphur. Calcium Nitrate 1.5g/ltr +-200ppm Iron(flower only) I use like 10g in my 200ltr reservoir. I'm usually at around 400ppm at this point including the start water ec. Then I dose the base Nutes to my target ec according to the ratios I gave in previous message. When in flower I would then add +-70ppm of MKP. And then the last thing is to set ph. I check final ec and note it down. Then randomly between feeds I would check runoff ph and ec.

  9. Not totally sure. First time I'm doing scrog so I will have to monitor the canopy but I would ultimately like it all to be as level as possible.

  10. Hi GGG. I use floracoco nutes, but I use them in coco. The thing with floracoco is it's supposed to have enough calcium and magnesium that it doesn't need supplementation. It's fine for veg but when it comes to flower when we cut back on the grow part which contains the calcium, straight away there is not enough calcium in solution. So before you add any supplementation there is already more N then required in flowering. By using hortimix calmag you are increasing that N ratio and also hortimix calmag is not chellated so it locks with the extra phosphorus from the bloom part b. This whole dillema causes Ph swings and throws the ec off. So this is what I've found works. Epsom salts 1st, then chellated calcium from greenhouse feeding, chellated iron from builders and then part A. Mix reservoir for at least 5 mins and then add part b. And then MKP. Lastly Ph and feed. Fault finding would be to check ph and ec of runoff compared to what you putting in. You not suffering a deficiency, it's a lockout. Hope this helps. When your nutes are finished go to floraseries 3 part. Just the micro and bloom. It's easier to use and hortimix calmag works with it

  11. EC is at 1,4-1,9 and haven't seen any leave tip burns, had a previous grow on 2,5 EC for just over a week and then only did it started to burn the tips, I feed daily or when temps is lower and the 15L pots still have abit of weight every second day with 25+% runoff when I thought it might have been salt buildup that caused that Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk

  12. @PsyCLown Mutations use to be a rarity... have you noticed how common its become. I see you gonna chuck some pollen at those autos. Does the autoflowering trait pass on successfully to the offspring?

  14. Thanks cannabist for your attitude towards what it means for us to get the real FIRE genetics to work with. If your supplier can order from empire breeding company, we don't need to look any further. Expensive but they stock the best of the best. Proper breeding stock. They even stock Loki's gear. On Friday I will be placing an order for a pack of darkhorse genetics original Bruce banner. It's the real deal. Too bad you don't stock their strawberry diesel f2, Bruce's mama. On average a 10pack is providing like 4 keepers and a choice of good studs. All my info is coming from private grower friends in the states that have become cannabis celebs since I've known them. These are the lines they currently working and the offsprings are off the chain. They not into breeding to sell seeds. They in it to be ahead of all the huge cultivation centres that are monopolizing their market. Just to avoid confusion I need to state that I haven't breed any seeds as yet in my growing career. I've come a long way as a grower, grown in many different styles. Since legalisation I started uping my game cos I love having 20 different strains to smoke. Variety is the spice of life. Run after run has always been about improving yield and quality. Nowadays things run on autopilot for the most part. I'm honestly tired off buying seeds and being disappointed with the mediocre results. My friends think I'm crazy and that my quality is up there but I know in my heart it's nothing compared to the real FIRE. It's lacking those exotic terps. So I've decided that I want to start making some seeds just for personal hunting and maybe share it with other local breeders if they interested. The one thing I'm proud off is my grow set up. I now have the facility in place to make seeds, pheno hunt and if need be, take seed making into proper breeding. Who knows where this leads too. Sorry for yapping guys... Peace

  15. I only read your post properly now, ye im keen. Could work something out to bring in seeds this club wants at cost, piggybacking of our normal orders to help with genetic diversity vs cost of seeds in SA. Or just each contribute to shipping. Long term goal then for me would be to sell local stable genetics which the community breeds. Personally never selectively bred though super keen to after watch some of the vids. Def going to start after back from December holiday. One of my cats just killed of half of my outdoor seedlings! Not sure if you guys have seen seedfinder.eu, on my phone so hard to find the link im looking for on their site but it's great for research. Let me know what you guys think.

  16. Yeah, with only 10 months left for parliament to rectify the law to align with the concourt ruling, one would expect that we would have been invited to submit public input already. If we, the ones exercising our new found rights to grow our own, dont even get that gap, then those 'very clever' money hungry MPs who dont have clue about growing are going to keep us oppressed because it will suit this ones cousin and that ones brother. The hawks are already having a field day. There has been no real footwork in changing the stigma around this plant since the concourt ruling, and both the far left and far right are still anti cannabis ie anti drug.
