Just to be clear I meant the ballast and Lamp. I have seen these nifty travel cases for clones that the hydro shops sell. I'm sure if we really wanted to we could make a small box with a cheap battery LED. Secure the clone in there. Hope they stored in the right direction for most of its journey. Not sure on the legalities cos we not selling to each other. Are we allowed to gift plants? Hopefully one day we will be allowed too. We can build our own Alpha team, do collaborations etc. Run each other's cuts, see how they express themselves. And then there's local cannabis cups... fingers crossed to a bright cannabis future2 points

OK, so you have a grow area - you may need to block out the light coming in from outside depending on how much light there is at night. You will still need the following: PH pen Extraction Grow lights Seeds Medium Nutrients Pots You do need to decide on your medium - as CreX said, Coco, Soil or Hydro? Hydro will require air pumps Coco & perlite is best with regular watering Soil can be a bit expensive for the good soils - such as the Freedom Farms and Organic Matters, normally R160 ro R180 for 30L of soil.2 points

Here a few nugs shots from Totemics Choco #3 (the plant that did not enter the competition). The smoke is very nice and creamy with that classic indoor taste, nice and earthy, and surprisingly its got some fuel in there as well. Buds are still curing so I expect really good smoke from this plant. The high is good and pretty strong, perfec for chilling out at home or in nature. A earlier harvest should give a potent speedy high i would imagine. Hats off to Totemic, this plant could have been grown better than I did, better setup, etc, will be phenomanal smoke. Side note - I have a few flavors from overseas f1 beans im blazing, and this bud can stand right next them for quality of high as well as taste. Pretty dope for a f4 selection2 points

@PsyCLown yeah I hear you. If I grew only a few plants at a time I would try fight it. Unfortunately sometimes some strains are just more vulnerable to pm and mold. So I don't try battle it anymore, I'll chop those down to stop the spread. And get rid of their respective clones. I only want strong plants. Besides pm and mold, I start chopping 1 2 colas from here and there usually from around the day 40s. I enjoy the racey high now and then.2 points

Not yet, this is my 2nd high CBD strain I'm growing. The first was a CBD Critical Mass a D it was a great plant and the bud is really good too. Surprisingly strong despite only being rated at 6 - 8% THC and CBD (1:1 ratio). This Charlottes Angel looks frostier for sure, super low THC and very high CBD... Although there is always the chance it's not actually Charlottes Angel, especially considering they were meant to be autos... I took a look at trichomes tonight and it's a bit of a mix. Can go for a bit longer, I also checked some seeds and I feel a bit longer will be good. Next feed I'll start moving over to ripening nutes. So signs of PM after using the aq-sf and milk, seems to have worked really well indeed. Although having the milk not as diluted certainly makes it stick more to the plant, when the milk was diluted more it didn't seem to stay on the plant as much. I am sure a bud wash will sort it out though :D Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk2 points

@PsyCLown Looking after it is probably the reason it's still being kind to you. Hopefully you never have to replace it. Grohydro in durban sells it for 8k with the Ph adjustment add on. It is an expensive investment that's not for everyone but my family wants to start going on holidays again so I'm going to have to automate things further then just 3 days.1 point

So the pollen sacs popped on the one which was being sprayed with STS, pollen has been harvested and the mutant seedling is still busy growing.1 point

For free for you bra. 1 lamp and 1 ballast. The ballasts are being used to hold a fans base down atm. Anyone else that is battling to upgrade their lamp, let me know, you can also have 1.1 point

@MeepmeepzaI have a 400w ballast and reflector and globes (HPS and MH) ... But I can't go as low as 500. It has chains to hang it, and long cables so you can mount the ballast outside the grow area. Let me know if you are interested, send me a PM1 point

I would say soil is easier for a first grow. That hidden space with walls will definitely work. Put a door or curtain or something to make it light proof. CFLs gonna give you poor results. The cheapest decent grow light will probably be a 400W HPS. If you go that route I'll sponsor you a Phillips 400W MH Veg Lamp. If you in durbs, I'll give you clones as well. Maybe someone here knows off an LED for around the same price. Basic essentials Grow light +-500??? Small Extractor Fan +-1000 Timer 200 Multiplug 120 Desk fan 200 Nutrients + Ph drops + Ph down 800 Pots and grow medium 300 Reservoir(bucket, etc) 50 Seeds 500 the most important investment. Well that's your budget gone... Guys have I missed any of the basics required? Just know we all started small with small budgets. With time comes upgrades. And you could always get growing accessories for bday gifts from the wife etc. One things for sure, once you start growing, even when you go to the local checkers you will automatically take a walk past the garden section.1 point

Well, I assume you have no grow equipment. How much do you smoke on average per month (grams)? May be a good idea to start with an outdoor grow, although time is running out so best to get some seeds and plant them! Are you able to grow outside? Do you have a garden with no lights shining at night and where there aren't any nosy people who may interfere? I am thinking start outdoors, the money you save as you no longer have to buy bud (once you have harvested, obviously) you can then put towards some indoor grow equipment.1 point

Excuse the poor quality pics, although to give you an idea of what she is looking like. You can see some of the milk residue which was left on the plant, does not look pretty but works well. I'd rather have milk than some chemical, copper, PM etc. I did some sprays with the plant still inside the tent and will therefore need to give the tent a clean when she is done flowering.1 point

She has grown quite a bit and I did not realize it until I took her out of her hole and stood next to her. I was super impressed. Tomorrow is feeding and I will be giving her a little stronger dose.1 point

Interesting how strains can differ soo much. My Charlottes Angel is also around 9 weeks into flower although the bud development is very different. Although looking at your pics, I don't think I'd want to harvest those plants by the end of December. If you're really desperate for bud, consider harvesting a branch or two and let the rest mature properly - you've waited this long, why not let the plant reach its full potential before you harvest. I'm sure you won't regret it. :) Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point

As long as it stays cool in the cupboard, humidity and temp play a large role when it comes to storing seeds long term. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point

I love the way forum members are growing other members strains and show casing them. Show me another forum with that kind of family vibe.1 point

She stood still for a bit but I think I didn't increase her feed. So I did it and she responded well. She taken off again and looking very healthy but the leafs still has that lite green color. The wind hasn't done any harm so she surely is strong and a fighter. The leafs is a good size too. She is one of the only ones that hasn't started pushing pistils1 point
