Wedding Cake #3 Another pheno of this tasty strain that came close to making the cut... But you know how it goes... only the best from every pack lives another day5 points

In 2020 I would like to undertake (or at least begin) a writing project about weed, and maybe even about my relationship to weed (one nurtured over more than 2 decades). I have no idea what will come out of it yet, but I thought a good place to start would be with a Glog - a way of learning about the fine art of growing weed and also to collect details, thoughts and bits of research for ‘my writing project’. Skipping introductions (and going strait to what counts), here is a peak at my girls in flower... Strains growing: HSO Chemdawg (organic) HSO OG Kush (organic) Barney’s Blue Cheese (Autopot scrog) More to follow…3 points

After a small gap in harvesting, this amazingly terpy and tasty plant is ready for chop down. Beautiful pheno, ticks all the boxes... The breeding plans for her are to attempt to preserve all her traits and not necessarily improve anything so hoping my pineapple skunk ibl male is going to do just that.3 points

And here is the scrogged net with the ladies... Some have started stretching already and iv had to tuck one last time3 points

This black poison from GSR has been going for a couple months. Not in flower yet, but about to switch any day. I made a self-watering system for a clients project, two 25l buckets in each eachother, the top one with a netted pot inserted at the bottom to collect the water from the bottom bucket. And a piece of pvc to water through, but its easy enough just to lift the pot out and pour the water in that is needed. Soil 100% organic. Compoost, potting soil, epsom salts, use a number of homemade teas ( dandelion, weed, eggs shells etc ) . No external sources of nutes except the epsoms which comes directly from the mine. I will be buying mollasses soon, always love the flavour. Water Aerated rain water only. Mulch Always mulch with dried, aged donkey manure. Holds water nicely, prevents evaporation and leaches nutrients down. Growth from 24th Nov Growth 4th Dec Sadly we are going through a heavy drought and food is scarce. My leaves are being eaten by either my dogs or chickens. They are welcome. Need to give this plant a bit of a prune and cleanup, take some clones for a last wack at a quick harvest before winter. Sorry not a great picture. But here is the growth for the past month. Happy Growing.2 points

I remember litres as well - they were big sticks :). slupes were different, I think. also in brown paper but you could make more than a joint from one.... sticks were smaller and thiner - literally looked like a bundle of sticks. the sticks from martizburg were generally tucked in at both ends, and the sticks from Durban were tucked in at one end and was twisted at the other end (or at least that's the impression I got). nice 'nostalgia' thread bru!2 points

Amnesia CBD #3 Another different Amnesia CBD pheno... Very strong floral aromas, beautiful colours all the way through, deep purple calyxs... Very mild smoke though. I personally don't like the floral taste. Very average yielder. But I got to keep this cut cos the wife likes it cos it don't taste like weed and doesn't pack a punch. So this plant is probably close to 1:1 like advertised.2 points

Hahaha - filled with paint @Bakstein420 But still - theft aint cool and it is cool to have the law of consequence be sooner than later. @Chris Jay sorry we hijacking your thread, do you think the mindsets of these dudes that rip off another brother's work are fixed by 'entitlement' attitude? How do we stop this in our neighborhoods? Won't be solved with BBEEE. Are you involved with NORML? I ask to become aware of how to be involved, to help this craft into the water. Am a member of FieldsofGreenForAll and rallying here in my community to cross pollenate experience with local growers. Thank for your prompt on the article.2 points

Its been a magic year in South Africa, and precisely that. It was a very quick article to show that we can normlalize cannabis and how it is becoming normlised. You have not seen anything yet, this years 113th Agri Show is going to be epic. Eventhough they gave me a little bit of hell last year, made me sign addendums, I pushed it as hard as possible. And it was a huge success for the show and entertainment. They have offered me space at this years show so that cannabis companies can directly market their products to farmers. Plus this years upcoming show is 200th year "celebration" of settlers arriving in SA, so it should be a banger, as long as EFF does not get wind and burn everything down. 2020 Agri Show I am pushing for a cannabis category, hoping all the wankers that dissed the plants last year put their money where their mouth is. I have a black poison from GreensmokeRoom I am entering, its going to be a whopper. One local guy said he would need to get a crane to enter the plant he will grow. Entries for each plant are less than R20 and they will be judged by qualified horticulturists for structure, aroma etc. Unfortunately " No Smoking", but there will be a smoke free zone! Yes all these cups have to be careful, it is not legal and in reality people are being arrested every day in SA, beaten abused by SAPS. So the more we do, the more we normalize and continue the fight the better for everyone.2 points

So between then and now, last year and this new year, I have gone into the veg area and heavily cut back and trimmed and defoliated and this is the result. Nice smooth ladies Bloom is another story... Iv had to flatten the canopy to scrog it and what a mission that was lol, they all responded very well to the adjustment and I'll get a Pic up when they wake up2 points

Sup Guys. 1 thing I know is how to grow weed. But I know nothing related beyond that. Other guys from other places in SA and their cannabis journey. I know more about the crazy Americans. We are all of different upbringings and do things a little different... I grew up smoking a DP in a pipe, that instant headrush that got you instantly high. Smoking weed was cheaper then smoking cigarettes. How things have changed! I have no knowledge how guys from out of durban smoked or even what they smoked. How's about sharing just a little of your cannabis roots?1 point

No issues with effort to do activist support. I am based in KZN Chris, and to date, I have only had interest from Rick Simpson when he came out in 2008. We shared recipes at the time and he was keen to setup local support for Phoenix Tears. Now I see that David Gemmel has the mantle. Also torched my stack that year as I was under obs apparently at the time. Always been able to stay quiet out here in the hills. At my age, I would not see myself running road shows, but I am a keen advocator for medicinal causes as well as for allowing local folk to run a sustainable income with weed. Education is the way to go, not really legislation. Regulation would be the solution, seeing not one person has ever died from use.1 point

I hear bru. And I've experienced exactly what you talking about. It was a kak cross weed that they were claiming was a dp. It wasn't. I was lucky when I first started smoking. I was a youngster that hung with some old hippies. These guys were getting original DP for years. I knew nothing about weed and strains. But I learnt from them the utter smoothness of a DP in a pipe. Then the high of the DP was also another way to know you smoked a DP.1 point

@DankFiend Cool names. Here we called it slupes. And we had litres. And was mostly decent DP available. Which was honestly good weed for a teenager. The quality changed once the market got flooded with okay swazi and some other crosses. Dealers started distributing that cos it was cheaper then the dp from our local farmers. It was stoner weed but totally different high. And that's where my journey with DP ended, I know I am one of many here that would love a dp cut.1 point

Grew up in Gauteng, but smoking maritzburg slugs (sweet baby heads wrapped in brown paper) - we called them sticks. 4 to 5 sticks made a decent (although small) joint. when I was in high school in 90s it cost R10 for 20 sticks (referred to as a roll). We also smoked chilumps (sp?) which were small clay pipe like things (used to hold incense). We would also get Malawi cobs and compressed swazi from time to time. You could also buy other shit bag weed, pokes and matchboxes - but I didn't (until I started smoking buttons)1 point

@Nostrovia sorry for the loss bru It hurtz when that happens and yes, you can charge them with theft! It is private property. Would be a better result if you had instant gratification, like placing claymores in your garden. "An arm for an arm".1 point

@Dank. They growing well and like you said....hungry and thristy. Relocated the tallest lady (1st pic prev post) this morning to a more accommodating 60lit tub. Gently pulled her out like a solid slug of roots and straight into her new home. Don't like transplanting large plants but it had to be done. She'll slow down for a day or 2 and I expect a strong flush of growth. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk1 point

You are quite correct. I have a different experience completely. You will have some contention against smoking your herb. I suffered great lung damage and cannot smoke anymore (valueing what I have left) - so I vape my bho only. Tolerance is an issue because is so easy to ingest say 20 mg of juice. Was planning to start a thread on this to share experiences on tolerance. My experience is building still. We see the same happening due to medibles. Personally, I think consuming canna by not burning it has large benefit in healing applications. Certainly telling in my case! I am on a mission to repair my lungs and I think it works.1 point

Merry 2020 ppl Mr @Dank Cookie Birds are doing well. Tall, hungry and thirsty trees....just got a lekker growth flush going. Headroom may become an issue at this rate as my 2.4m ceiling is not far off, worst case they'll have to finish up outside. They still snackin on seagrow and molasses, with some epsom for good measure. Did another compost topdressing to help with moisture retention and organic volume. So far no serious defs, just trying to keep a close eye, suspect I'm going to have some rootbound issues so we prepping some 60lit tubs. Keep on puffin Cheers1 point

My best local breeder is Jay from Amadeadly Seeds. His genetics are worth collecting, he has a facebook page only. Easy to find, also I think he has amalgamated with another bank. I am sure they are great, he does not pussy foot around. International commercial breeder I would suggest the following seeds: Sannies Seeds - https://www.sanniesshop.com Reeferman ( be careful lots of fakes ) - currently only sold in Canada, but will be sold worldwide soon. Sensi Seeds - buy through seedsman or direct from their site. Not to sure if they ship to SA. Good luck and lets keep this list going.1 point

Wazzup everyone, been wanting to post but been on a 2 day straight hazy affair :) :) :) Tool of elevation was my Cloupor Cloutank M4, although I did have a few bongs and joints in the interim as well. The Chocolope seems to be a relatively nice upper, however, early harvest remember? I must say this though, super clean smoke, almost zero burn and it definately performs as advertised. My later harvest is in the same container, so it's the luck of the draw each time I smoke it. Glad to be back..... Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk1 point

@CreX rates even 350ppm is aight. Plus it's just short of the recommended dosage by Nutriplex. If not, I'll wait and let my plants tell me they need more nutes. Ppm might be 1995, but quick maths is 2019. 400 ppm is 0.8 EC according to the manufacturer of my EC pen.1 point

I'll still make a few posts during this time, experiences etc. Off the bat I can say insomnia. This has been a problem in the past, but I normally sort it out with a bowl or three of OG. Day 1 wasn't too bad, I was quite mind blown when I discovered that the amount of bad drivers on the road have increased threefold since yesterday :( Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk1 point

Honey is about 80% carbohydrates. Mainly fructose and glucose. Sugars, when combusted, generate acetaldehyde, which has addictive properties. Many toxic (including carcinogenic) smoke compounds are generated from sugars. In particular, sugars increase the level of formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, acetone, acrolein, and 2-furfural in smoke. I dont personally think that using honey on your joints/cigarettes is a clever idea at all and it shouldn't be encouraged.1 point

I think there is some miss communication here, or whoever did it got some skewed info. HBO is sometimes referred to as honey. There is absolutely no reason to put normal honey on anything you are planning to smoke. Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk1 point
