  1. Decided to tidy up my shit a bit after checking out some of the other Glogs on the forum. I could certainly have been more ruthless in cleaning undergrowth, but I got the canopy on the scrog as even as its going to get - although there are just too many bud sites. I suspect the worst of the post-flip-strech is over, although there might still be need to do a small bit of tucking as the plant goes into week 3 of flower. Lets see. Started from here... Now we're here... And just because she is pretty, below is some chemdawg budporn

  2. It is a 1.2m x1.2m net I built a while back. I have just finished hanging my other lights, I kept them separate this time. So I have... 3 light fixtures I dimmed the lights to 50% and am still getting fantastic coverage and intensity! If I need more power, I can always crank it up I have a lot of free evening time of late, so iv put in the time to scrog it properly and neaten up the undergrowth, General grow setups that iv been losing track of.

  3. yeah, was going to say, its too late now for super cropping for the chemdawg and og Kush. I am also on a deadline for this grow (and impatient0, and so trying not to do too much that will slow the plants down in flower. In truth I have other options as I have another 600w MH/HPS tent that I started flowering the plants not under the screen in,. However, I have a bit of chores to do before I can shift them back there. The problem is I am lazy, and I have a tendency to get stoned and procrastinate. Ill post about the venting problem I have with the other tent soon as its about my grow room set up and I wouldn't mind suggestions on how to fix it. ON super cropping - I super crop all the time. However its usually by accident

  4. I'm very excited for this strain... The mom was an amazing beauty with all the perks, and none of the quirks. Seriously the densest bud iv ever grown... The indoor bud would seriously rival Lego blocks... I could squeeze a bud between my fingers until my fingers when white and the bud wouldn't budge. Grind that shit up though and puff.... Interplanetary galactic shit I swear. These ladies have been crosses with a Dutch Passion Blueberry plant, so I'm quite keen to see what I get... If only half of the mom comes through, it will be another legendary smoke that will bring peace to this world. Very excited

  5. The best thing about working with something new is after a couple mistakes you just get better. I'm also not a fan of tight nodes in veg. I like things to stretch out after germination till flip. Makes lollipoping and cleaning out future larfie branches less tedious. Thereafter I drop the lights to get the tops to grow tight nodes so I get bigger buds.

  6. They have high morphology and pheno variation. They’re junk conveyer belt genetics.

  7. And this is what's happening outside (my first ever outdoor attempt). Sorbet from the plug seed bank. It is sitting in a layer of coco-perlite mix (with dolomite lime, bone meal, rock phosphate, talborne organics fruit and flower, worm castings and other stuff) but its no doubt already grown into the soil below. I am a bit worried about bud rot come flower given that I won't really be cleaning under the skirt and the plant is also really close to the wall. but lets see. Hopefully we get back to dry Job weather by then.

  8. In 2020 I would like to undertake (or at least begin) a writing project about weed, and maybe even about my relationship to weed (one nurtured over more than 2 decades). I have no idea what will come out of it yet, but I thought a good place to start would be with a Glog - a way of learning about the fine art of growing weed and also to collect details, thoughts and bits of research for ‘my writing project’. Skipping introductions (and going strait to what counts), here is a peak at my girls in flower... Strains growing: HSO Chemdawg (organic) HSO OG Kush (organic) Barney’s Blue Cheese (Autopot scrog) More to follow…

  9. Who else is getting absolutely wrecked with regards to loadshedding and their light schedules? I've been pretty lucky thus far but today my luck has run out. Expecting six hours off schedule to my lighting, flowering period nonetheless but if this continues I might be a little worried.. not sure how bad it's going to get in general though Anyways, more of a rant than anything..

  10. So far all 3 are exactly the same in veg. Same structure, same leaves, same height... Trying to control the height across all strains but it's getting difficult, luckily I've started spotting some amber trichs so by the looks of it the flower room should be harvested, cleaned and reset next week some time. Then its transplant, a week of veg in flower room to get the roots going and to get plants to acclimate to the 1000W and then flip. So you going to be a good 4/5 weeks ahead of me.

  11. Haha. I love it, it will also allow us to to see how homogenous and stable the strain is.

  12. @DankFiend Nah bru, you not crazy. You want to maximize your yield in the space you have. You know the risks, you have a game plan. Whether you remove the smaller branches that have reached the net or not that canopy is still going to get thick and you will require good airflow either way. I'll post my blue cheese flowering aswell... Who knows we might earn barneys some rep.

  14. @DankFiend Hermies suck. Found 2 in the garden this run. Both were from phenofinder seeds. I'm slowly trying to move away from feminised seeds but it is difficult with what regs are available. I'm not going to do a proper spread out scrog for the barneys farm genetics but rather just grow them through the scrog so it's easier to identify hermies early and remove them.

  15. the problem is, because the non scrog plants were vegged too long and are pretty tall, the light is being kept to high imo - so i losing some of the light advantage of scroging. the canopy is not level at all - but I am trying.

  16. My first grow was barney's blue cheese (and Royal Queen's white widow). One of the plants went hemie and another grew out looking more like a blue berry than a blue cheese. So certainly not homogenous. I have heard that although they have award winning genetics, they contract out to smaller outfits for their breeding - no idea if its true. I will say that the blue berry looking phenotype was probably the nicest tasting weed I ever smoked. I have wondered if I misdiagnosed the hemie (it was my first grow, so I didnt know shit - but some of the pros on weed.co.za confirmed that it was in fact a hemie). Thats part of the reason I thought I would try them again. but I also tried growing their pineapple chuck and got very average to shit results. that said, the two blue cheese plants I am growing this round seem to be the same phenotype and are chowing nutes at more or less the same rate. The proof will however be their performance now, in flower. Lets see

  17. If you ever want to speak with someone who is involved with patients and meds. Please contact ABIS Inc. They are supportive, make quality products and have a wealth of knowledge and a support system. A mate recently dropped off all meds for his serious back issues and is only on cannabis. We finally managed to work out he needs good strong THC to help him sleep and back pain. Finally found the recipe for him. We have over the past two years gone through all the cannabis products available, CBD, sprays, tinctures, tablets. His doctor prescribed opioid based medicine. That was an absolute disaster for him, flashbacks. It took him about 2 months to clear his mind. Bottomline is a high THC joint and canna coconut mix works for him best. He is able to sleep. I think it take alot of deep soul searching, effort and finding the riht recipe for you. Good luck @Totemic hope you find something that works and helps your quality of life. Dont forget, there is an active cannabis community that will assist you.

  18. Well I hit follow, seems like a sweet grow to watch... Very keen to see what the fluence does lol.. Not many can afford such lights, so I'm keen to see what they are able to do. And sweet job on leveling that canopy man! It's looking really full and level!!

  19. Well let's hope they not shit. I'm running them too together with their triple cheese and gorilla zkittles... Someone I have big respect for as a grower and a breeder ran their blue cheese and swears by the uniformity & quality...

  21. @CreX Always amazing the burst of growth after a good transplant. I agree it looks like it went through a bit of both over watering and intense light but the new growth looking good. Well done on the quick fix before it escalated.

  22. They have grown a bit since the last update and will need to be spread out in the coming weeks... Maybe even repot some into their next homes I had a bit of an over watering issue, but they have since come right... Over watering and or light stress as the light was pretty close. The 8 around the missing center.

They definitely not registered with SAHPRA. Amazing how tactfulness can move you forward in life, but be so careful of the weirdo's and witchhunters, they drag you to the depth of hell.

  26. A little more about this grow... I started sometime in November. I have been away from my gear for more than a year, so this is my first grow in a long time. And as grows go, I have been a bit lazy… so the girls have paid the price (also no lolipoping, no LST and minimal topping). It is also my first LED grow and I an trying out one of the Fluence Vyprx lights (although I started flowering the Chemawg and OG Kush plants under a 600w HPS) I went organic for the Chemdawg and OG Kush plants (something I haven't done since my first every grow). Decided to try out the freedom farms mix - supplemented with Biobizz stuff (fish mix in veg, and grow, bloom and top max for flowering). Also giving explogrow - but just ran out. I used 10L bags thinking i would veg for only 2 weeks, but I took my time setting up another tent to start them flowering - so they got another week (1 of the OG Kush plants ran into problems so it got a couple more weeks on top of that) . This means they are a bit too big for the bags -- more labour and problems (and in my efforts to correct them, I have probably overfed biobizz grow). They got flipped around the 23 of November (so they should be done by the end of the month) (plants at the ned are chemdawg) (These are the OG Kush) The blue cheese are in autopots. I ran into a problems with the system (and had what looked like overwatered plants). It resolved but I am still puzzled by it (and yes, i do have a layer of clay pebbles at the bottom). They are also under a low scrog screen (1,5m x 0,75m more or less). As I need to get everything chopped, dried and in jars by March I flipped these just under two weeks ago (and shoved some clones in an organic mix in the corners). I will probably need to even things out a little more (tucking and underdoing tucking), before leaving them to finish out now. I started out using Nutriplex, but switched to GH stuff when they went into flower. Not supplementing with anything except calmg apart from bit foliar feeding of fulvic acid when I wasn’t feeling lazy. (Blue Cheese Scrog) Although not ideal, when I chop the organic plants the light can be moved closer to the girls under the screen.

  27. No sweat guys, we are south africans and hijacking is part of our culture!!! Yes NORML was functional, most guys moved over to DaggaCouple to help them assist in everything they needed, and developed it into FOGFA, HighAlert and growing cannabis in Lesotho. And damn good of them. Its been on ice for a couple years and just got it up and running again since getting back into cannabis. I am NORML, there is no one else on board at the moment. I am looking for people to help, cause I am working on a couple of projects: 1. Agricultural Show - 3 months time. 2. Release of Roelf van Rooyen, actually signed his presidential pardon today about 3pm on a dusty road with parol officers. 3. African genetics project ( worldwide ) So I guess I need all the help I can get.

  28. @Ill_Evan hectic shit bro. So many stories of grows going down due to theft, weather or living circumstances. I have a shit ton of spare seeds from my black friday order from @Cannabist, if you need some to get back on your feet send me a PM.

  30. Hahaha - filled with paint @Bakstein420 But still - theft aint cool and it is cool to have the law of consequence be sooner than later. @Chris Jay sorry we hijacking your thread, do you think the mindsets of these dudes that rip off another brother's work are fixed by 'entitlement' attitude? How do we stop this in our neighborhoods? Won't be solved with BBEEE. Are you involved with NORML? I ask to become aware of how to be involved, to help this craft into the water. Am a member of FieldsofGreenForAll and rallying here in my community to cross pollenate experience with local growers. Thank for your prompt on the article.

  32. Feeling blessed. This year has been epic! I have shared a total of 1300 regular seeds, and now the first 1000 feminised seed are on their way to Swaziland. Next year there is plenty new gear coming, and hope that Totemic will continue to make a mark as we enter a new decade. Merry Christmas to all of you.

  37. I feel the trichomes is the best way to tell whether a plant is ready or not. When the bud swells is a good time to start getting the loupe / microscope ready for checking the trichomes.

  38. Late flowering is strain dependant. If you buying your seeds then breeders have information about time duration of that strain to give you a guideline. So when your plant has stopped pushing out white hairs and the trichs are mostly cloudy you can stop nutes and use ripen on its OWN for a week and then just plain water to chop down. The instructions for the floraseries and ripen are on the bottles. Read it and follow it. 8-9week strain, I would start paying attention for the above from around day 50. If you have enough light and air exchange you can go full strength and above safely for most strains. So based on that you have to adjust the ratios. And that question about cutting sugar leaves you need to forget it and never ask that again.(the only time you should be cutting sugar leaves is when you trimming your buds). Get more experience before doing any defoliation from midflower onwards.

  43. My current grow is using 19.1 kw/units per 24h. I'm running 1000w(600w + 400w) lights in my flower tent and a 200w light in my veg tent. The fans are pulling 88w. You need to work out consumption in order to work out cost so the best thing to do is break your grow down to each piece of equipment that is using electricity and work from there: I'm gonna use my grow as an example here: Firstly it really helps to measure what each device is actually pulling and not go by the indicated wattage for the device i.e. a 600w HPS may use a little more than 600w, especially with magnetic ballasts. My 600W HPS and 400W HPS are collectively pulling a total of 1115w and not 1000W. If you have a prepaid meter it should be able to tell you the wattage being used in the house. An easy way to measure each devices true wattage is to have the device off, check the current wattage use in the house in the meter and note the amount, then turn the device on, note usage and work out the difference. Here's how to work out total consumption: The formula is : Device wattage X time(hours) device is on Flowering Lights: 1115w x 12 = 13 380 Veg Light: 200w x 18 = 3600 Fans(2 extractor fans and 2 oscillating Fans): 88w x 24 = 2112 We then add these totals together: 13 380 + 3600 + 2112 = 19 092 So that gives me 19 092 watts which is the total number of watts my grow uses every 24 hours. Or 19.1 kilowatts, or 19.1 units... whichever way you wanna look at it. To work out cost Formula: Total daily usage X Price per unit(kilowatt hour) Daily cost: 19.1 x R2.44 = R46.60 Monthly cost: 46.60 x 30 = R1398-00 Hope this helps
