  1. Hehehe she loves helping me with the "flowers" hehehe. She's an excellent watererer and digger She's almost big enough to have her own veggie patch that I can help her with. Start her off on some tomatoes

  2. @Mambawana Hey what's up man! Thanks alot yes I have put a lot of work in it's still not where I want it to be but I'll get there. Basically what you see there is a cage. I have one cage per strain. Each cage is fitted with castor wheels so I can pull each plant out and rotate at my will for very easy access to the plants. The cages are fitted with a mesh 100mm from the ground so as you said I can remove the trays from underneath to drain them. Any other questions you can ask away Oh and I've got 2 x 480 watt QBs and 1 x 240 watt ( all with added red, uv and ir) picked them up from quantumgrow.co.za

  4. @Mambawana i appreciate your input and that would have been my first option as it was what i was reading on the net to do before i asked @CreX for some advice, i try to keep my DWC system sterile and not winning with that. I actually bought a bottle of peroxide last weekend to use it to clean my res the next time i do a change. Crex mentioned that even running sterile one can have massive problems. After the discussion I got everything together and started a tea . If the plant got root rot due to my growing conditions it will come back because the conditions won't change any time soon, brewing a tea and adding it to the RES seems like a lot less work than going the sterile route.

  6. I have been "window shopping" on this site for a few months now, just trying to get enough info to get my first grow going. I've had a deep passion for plants my whole life, and an even deeper passion for cannabis the last 13 years. I would consider myself kind of an hyper enthusiast, yep that hits the nail on the head. I want to thank 420sa for providing such a great forum for us locals to gather and share our stories and info on!!! I've always had a plant growing, but only harvested about 5 of them. I've had ghetto setups, all that, never anything amazing. Did a 10 plant outdoor grow last year, with a few OK plants only harvested 4 of them, but that's not where my attention is at. Got myself a 1mx1mx1.8m tent, 360Watt (probably 240True Watt) LED light, a fan, inline fan, carbon filter - all that... got a few clones from a buddy and here we go!!!! Actually, the ladies are all at week 14. Flowering for 5 weeks already. So far everything seems to be 100% as I followed all you guys' instructions to the T! I just thought it's a good idea to jump in and become part of such a great community!!! I have tons of questions, but always end up researching for hours trying to find very simple detail, just "window shopping" here has already made it so much easier finding the right information for a grower from the Overberg area. Anyway, blessed all you beautiful people! Hope you all had a wonderful week and are lucky enough to wind down at the end of all the crazyness blowing your favourite smoke!!

  9. How many pics may one enter? This is all one plant, OG kush from a bag seed, so have no idea what it really was! Also grown by the ocean, in the earth, but mixed in some of my own special soil and only organic nutes and added microbes. Pink pistils/hairs, anyone ever got them? Sadly they seemed to fade as she matured!

  13. @SmokeyZero @Mambawana once the root issues are resolved I would like to talk about the other benifits of the ingredients... Maybe we tackle them one at a time. When you know what you are putting into the tea does, then it becomes easier to come up with other recipes or simpler recipes for a specific application or improvement

  14. @Mambawana Root rot is cyanobactria... Pythium is another problem, but tea helps that too. https://forum.grasscity.com/threads/heisenberg-tea-summary-cheap-easy-beneficial-bacteria-to-cure-root-issues.958893/ This is one of the sources of my success in beating root rot and the dreaded slime!!! Note, the ingredients are American, but I have investigated every ingredient and researched every ingredient in depth. My favorite being humic acids and mycorrhizal fungi. At one point I was not making any teas and just throwing a bit of each ingredient into the res, and it worked great!! But I started using up my ingredients way to fast, and needed to buy more, so I went back to making my ingredients stretch in teas. If you want healthy roots. Mycorrhizal fungi is your best friend... But if you have issues, the EMProSoil has the right bacteria to fight the problems.

  15. I will definitely want to see this approach work, might sway me back to rdwc in one of my rooms without the expensive ass water chiller that I thought I definitely needed on a multiple site.

  16. If you the turtle who's Marlin and who's dory? Well bru I just gave my input from experience with root rot, it doesn't need to be used. If it's possible to fight root rot with just teas then im really interested in learning from this.

  17. She was a clone that i did not have space for so I left her in the bubble cloner a tad to long, you can see the net pot is broken at the bottom where i had to cut the pot to wiggle the roots through, only thing i had to fill the net pot was perlite . i know not the best choice but it works. The tea i did have some left over and put it into a clean 2 lt bottle and into the fridge , expecting a call or msg later about not having any of my "stuff" in the house, especially if it looks like its been fermenting. (Wife had bad luck opening wrong container and smelling)

  18. Update Time: Some good growth this past week with no problems in this corner of the garage, i decided to change things up a bit as i see some of the plants were stretching more than usual. This plant is due for a transplant and will probably do it this weekend. will do an update after the transplant.

  19. @Bospatrollie2 @CreX yes that white stuff is perlite the blue circle, the stuff I was concerned about is the red circle, Its look more brown and slimy than what the photo show. And here we go, my tea is completed, hopefully it look right? smells like fresh rain forest floor. I hope the 2.5 hours load shedding we had while brewing the tea will not effect it negatively? I gave the ladies some this morning before work and took some pictures of their roots and also their leaves to be able to compare in a few days from now. I have two clones from the same mother in the DWC system and gave 1 the tea and one will go without tea.

  20. @CreX I can't tell from the photo, could be perlite as you say. @SmokeyZero will have to confirm. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  21. @CreX So looks like I'm not the only one that has a little helper in the garden. Has she started putting Barbie etc stickers on your plants as yet? Btw your pic has my vote(If I had a vote).

  22. In my opinion that would work keeping light schedules on track. Especially if load shedding is happening in the middle of lights on. I'm pretty certain plants will fall asleep within that 2 hour outage and will have to wake up again when the power is back and then fall asleep again when the 12 hour cycle is complete. I don't know what negative effects this would have nor do I want to find out. I don't see any inefficiencies as the solar panel will receive light to charge up from your existing grow lights(if that's indeed possible) that have to be on for your plants anyway. Nice and simple to keep plants awake, as very little light is needed for just that. Next issue during load shedding... air circulation especially in mid to late flower???

  23. Using an artificial light to get power from a solar panel is a silly idea as you would end up losing power due to the inefficiencies. Although using a solar powered light to help your plants out during load shedding could work - Makro sell those LED lights which are battery powered for like R199. Magneto or something like that, not sure how well they work but that is another option too if the sun ain't shining - if its overcast or at night.

  24. Hahaha, tandem bike for the whole family. I watched a documentary thing on Youtube the other night about CO2 being extracted from the air and being turned into a fuel which can be used in cars and bikes and so forth and basically ends up with a carbon neutral output (so not adding more CO2 to our environment / atmosphere). Rather use that to power a generator if possible, although still relatively new and only one of the solutions to try and lower CO2 and stop global warming.

  28. You are quite correct. I have a different experience completely. You will have some contention against smoking your herb. I suffered great lung damage and cannot smoke anymore (valueing what I have left) - so I vape my bho only. Tolerance is an issue because is so easy to ingest say 20 mg of juice. Was planning to start a thread on this to share experiences on tolerance. My experience is building still. We see the same happening due to medibles. Personally, I think consuming canna by not burning it has large benefit in healing applications. Certainly telling in my case! I am on a mission to repair my lungs and I think it works.
