So, giving the stage to the ladies. I done some defoliation, very selective. Basically just snapped off the big fan leaves that where blocking bud sights and any leaves that where overlapping eachother. Some more info: 1. Today is day 107 in total and day 51 of flower. 2. Planted in FF premium mix in 20L FF material pots. 3. Added trichoderma and mycorrizhea and diatomaceous earth. 4. Feeding with salt based A, B, MKP nutrient mix from local hydroshop and alternating Vermipure liquid compost and started adding molasses during 3rd week of flower. 5. Did weekly treatments with Neem oil during veg. That's about that! Any tips, questions or remarks are highly encouraged!!4 points

I water multiple times a day without issues and without perlite, and also you should never let your coco dry out its actually a pretty bad practice due to the very nature of coco.2 points
-
Yep not to mention if i dont want to reuse that coco I just dump in the garden and don't have white shit all over.2 points
-
I've stopped using perlite, really not required with coco there is ample oxygen in the coco itself, even when saturated.2 points

Diaphams are cheap and easy to replace. Any pet store that cater for aquariums and sell fish should be able to sort you out.2 points

If a Rosin press is too pricey, perhaps consider BHO then? You can get cans of butane from Checkers for around R30 and then purchase a blast tube and you're good to go! Here are some options: https://thehighco.co.za/product/herbal-extraction-tube/ https://vapestore.co.za/bho-glass-tube If you do more of a search, you will likely find even more options available.2 points

I have been "window shopping" on this site for a few months now, just trying to get enough info to get my first grow going. I've had a deep passion for plants my whole life, and an even deeper passion for cannabis the last 13 years. I would consider myself kind of an hyper enthusiast, yep that hits the nail on the head. I want to thank 420sa for providing such a great forum for us locals to gather and share our stories and info on!!! I've always had a plant growing, but only harvested about 5 of them. I've had ghetto setups, all that, never anything amazing. Did a 10 plant outdoor grow last year, with a few OK plants only harvested 4 of them, but that's not where my attention is at. Got myself a 1mx1mx1.8m tent, 360Watt (probably 240True Watt) LED light, a fan, inline fan, carbon filter - all that... got a few clones from a buddy and here we go!!!! Actually, the ladies are all at week 14. Flowering for 5 weeks already. So far everything seems to be 100% as I followed all you guys' instructions to the T! I just thought it's a good idea to jump in and become part of such a great community!!! I have tons of questions, but always end up researching for hours trying to find very simple detail, just "window shopping" here has already made it so much easier finding the right information for a grower from the Overberg area. Anyway, blessed all you beautiful people! Hope you all had a wonderful week and are lucky enough to wind down at the end of all the crazyness blowing your favourite smoke!!1 point

Some Silicone or epoxy will work as an emergency fix as well. Fix cracks and off you go. Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk1 point

I wouldn't say it's not required cos it has its place and really allows you to water plants multiple times in a day. In saying that I also prefer using coco on its own but only because it's more forgiving when it comes to the time it takes to dry out between feedings1 point

I agree with @Mambawana, you can get them pretty much anywhere... But buy quite a few extra as they do tend to break frequently. Maybe take your pump with as each size pump uses different diaphragm sizes1 point

I agree, coco let's so much water through that it really isn't necessary for the perlite. I actually feel that coco perlite drains way to fast.1 point

@Ill_Evan I saw a forum member posting not so long ago about a Dab Bar where he took his bud to press. Cant remember who or where, but I assumed JHB or CPT. Try to search for the thread but couldn't find it.1 point

SA Horticulture. They are jhb based, but I'm sure you can hit them up for an order.1 point

Hi where is the Pratley store that sells 100ltr Perlite at 204. That's tops and is half the price I'm paying atm. On a side not... a 5kg block of coco hydrates into 50litre.1 point

I'd definitely never recommend it to any soil growers as it has citric acid, but if you're doing DWC or soilless it's simply a bloom booster for when you do your initial switch to flower.1 point

Ok sorry!!!! Don't get me started on salts. Consumerism!!!! same salts just packed in a fancy package and named something different.1 point

Thanks @CreX. I'll check how close to flowering I am again. If its more than a week I will try the CO2 route. I still have a CO2 bottle from my aquarium plant days Thanks @Mambawana. I've increased airflow and I'm heavily misting with water for now to increase humidity. Hopefully I can limp through to harvest time and then nuke the grow room.1 point

You just need to miss one mite and the problem remains.... Increasing your C02 will ward them away, but you need quite a lot of Co2 for it to become effective. A skottle braai with an open flame will work. Seal your garage, put all your plants in there... And burn that bottle for a few hours with the garage closed... Temps will spike, humidity will spike up... And hopefully you can keep the most co2 you can in the garage... Alternatively you can move premises, preferably intercontinentally1 point
