i compared the przs for seeds and i think @Cannabist is the cheapest so far.5 points

I've been buying seeds for a long time. Directly from European seed banks and from holy smoke seeds when they first came available. I bought from green smoke room when they first opened and had a hidden menu that required a special password that was very difficult to obtain. Putting the price aside the best customer service I've received was from @Cannabist, well except for when he 1st opened and payfast froze his account. But even then he fixed the issue and compensated all affected by it. I highly recommend @Cannabist to everyone. On a side note I have no affiliation with them. I've just been super happy with the owners attitude and his willingness to assist. Don't believe me, give them a try...3 points

@DankFiend Garden looking on point. Beautiful well trained plants. Good job... love how the fan is just there in the middle of it all amongst the sexy ladies. Too bad about the bud rot. Good choice in bringing that plant down. I can imagine the airflow has improved. Late flower is always nail biting times. These weeks just need to pass by so you can reach the finish line and then maybe one of your blue cheeses can reward you with a dehumidifier for next round. I haven't flipped my blue cheese as yet. Over grew them like always. Had to bring them down to size. Gave them a week to recover from all the broken branches. Tomorrow they get flipped.2 points

Had a bit of s shitty week with the grow. Outdoor the sorbet got battered by hail, which ripped through leaves and bud sites. The damaged buds now also make bud rot a real possibility. Indoors, I did indeed notice bud rot on one of the main colas of the chemdawg plant. I caught it early but I don't really have too much time to keep an eye on the plant, so decided to harvest her (rather than just cutting away the rot). this means she is at least a week early - all things considered the yield wasn't too bad for a 10l plant chopped early (but I still need to weigh it after its dry). I also disconnected the carbon filter which, combined with having with one less plant, I am hoping will bring the RH down (as the smell is pretty bad I connected the filter to another fan so it can clean the air in the room I am exhausting into. Its not ideal, but at least its keeping the stink in the room) . here are some pics pf the blue cheese. The star of the tent is actually the go Kush at the moment. will post a pic later in the week2 points

In 2020 I would like to undertake (or at least begin) a writing project about weed, and maybe even about my relationship to weed (one nurtured over more than 2 decades). I have no idea what will come out of it yet, but I thought a good place to start would be with a Glog - a way of learning about the fine art of growing weed and also to collect details, thoughts and bits of research for ‘my writing project’. Skipping introductions (and going strait to what counts), here is a peak at my girls in flower... Strains growing: HSO Chemdawg (organic) HSO OG Kush (organic) Barney’s Blue Cheese (Autopot scrog) More to follow…1 point

Hey guys So I have been thinking about my technique of harvesting pollen, and though it is quite efficient, it takes quite a lot of time (which i dont really have lately) I have been cutting flowering stems off as they ripen and letting them dry for a day or so in a brown bag before giving it a litle shake and screening, mixing with flour for the moisture, sealed container into the fridge or freezer. I was just wondering if anyone here may have any simpler ways of approaching the task, something that doesnt require endless hours inspecting and snipping little branches while trying not to get pollen to fly all over the place1 point

So the grow is in the back section of the house that no one stays in (I use one of the rooms to work in sometimes and the other as the grow room). And yes, the smell is getting real. Without the filter you smell the plants as soon as you come into the yard if I leave the sliding doors open. At the moment I am exhausting into the bathroom next to the grow room - and running a separate fan to push (smelly) air into the filter. this is really is something I want to find a better solution to - I read on some forum that by connecting two inline fans you can increase the force of the air into the filter, but I have yet to give It a try. I really wanted to finish this grow by the end of feb, but yeah...might need another week at least. one of the the OG Kush I am growing is coming on its tenth week and she looks she will need at least week or even two more - giving her ripen but I can't say its doing much yet. massive colas though. the blue cheese is frosting up, but by no means anything special or stand out yet. and yes, at least now I will know. one seems to be more cheese leaning in relation to bud structure.1 point

They already looking better. Much less mites already. Guess the hectic cape town wind took care of them. Will leaving them outside to finish as suggested by @CreX1 point

Looks like she recovered well, the winds can do some damage. Hope she rewards you for your efforts. She does stretch a bit, but the colas on my lady shows a lot of promise. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk1 point

Things has not been well for the lady after the wind storms we had and she took a hell of a beating. Some of her limbs were pretty damaged and forced to be removed which left me with this. It took some time for her to recover hence the reason for not updating as I should. Sorry @Dank. But the left over parts is the good parts and the ones that matter. The wind basically lollipopped her for me so I should be grateful in a way, I guess She pre sexed and she's off to do her thing. Super excited to see what she's gonna bring to my jars.... Updates should be more frequent fron now on as she seems to be fully settled in1 point

Hi man, this is one of the lowest effort methods I have found, providing a few conditions are met. If you have a space that is not situated close to your females, or without a lot of bypassing traffic, preferable a house where there is no growing going on (im lucky enough to know a cool old lady). I put the plant on a big piece of cardboard paper next to a window that gets some direct sunlight (i make sure the windows remain closed. You can also use a cardboard box with the top open, lined with cardboard paper to catch the pollen. So the male plant just flowers out dropping its pollen on the cardboard paper, every day or two I would go give it a shake, collect pollen with a card, then do the steps you mentioned. And of course hit the shower, clothes in the wash, etc. Another method is similar you just need to build a little breeder box, with the right mesh to keep the pollen in, similar to how they do tomato's, this is my preferred method for a natural pollination, ie, boy and girl open air pollination, but in the breeder box. Hope that helps a little bit bro, peace and buds!1 point

Things is moving along sweetly and the buds is fattening more as time goes by. Still can't touch her without getting all sticky so gloves for trimming is a must. Time is getting to a point it seems cause the leafs started yellowing slightly. I'm still feeding at full strength and she takes it like a champion. All of the pics were taken this morning as the sun came over the mountains, so the flash didn't interfere with the flowering cycle. Has anyone grown Mendocino Skunk before???1 point

da day 40. One of the plants is eating considerably more and so I haven't been able to give her all she wants as she shares a Rez with the other girl.1 point

Update time: Good morning fellow growers, some nice growth the last few days, have been giving them some of AACT and they really enjoying it. Did some closer inspection this morning and found balls, they won't get to see the end of the day. This is the end of the road for this guy, but not the end of the grow, I still have two more that must show their stuff. I will probably pop 3 more beans to find another female.1 point

Soap and canola oil mix will also work. Soap for wetting agent and canola oil to suffocate the buggers. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk1 point

Get a spray bottle with water and blast them off. I did it and it works. If and when you take your infected plants outside they'll probably go for those budding plants. I am battling a bit of whitefly atm....not to happy1 point

Looooooads of growing and testing, and then more loaaads of growing and testing As a hobby breeder i would say that a lot of dedication, love for the plant, hard work and ultimately the time (years) put in to the selection process. Good genetics wont save a bad grower nd bad genetics sure as hell dont help a good grower, but when its all cured and in the jar, homegrown with love, its usually clear what is dank. Some good genes in the EU and in the States I would say, but like you guys mentioned, not all seedcompanies have fire, hell some dont even have germination1 point

A little more about this grow... I started sometime in November. I have been away from my gear for more than a year, so this is my first grow in a long time. And as grows go, I have been a bit lazy… so the girls have paid the price (also no lolipoping, no LST and minimal topping). It is also my first LED grow and I an trying out one of the Fluence Vyprx lights (although I started flowering the Chemawg and OG Kush plants under a 600w HPS) I went organic for the Chemdawg and OG Kush plants (something I haven't done since my first every grow). Decided to try out the freedom farms mix - supplemented with Biobizz stuff (fish mix in veg, and grow, bloom and top max for flowering). Also giving explogrow - but just ran out. I used 10L bags thinking i would veg for only 2 weeks, but I took my time setting up another tent to start them flowering - so they got another week (1 of the OG Kush plants ran into problems so it got a couple more weeks on top of that) . This means they are a bit too big for the bags -- more labour and problems (and in my efforts to correct them, I have probably overfed biobizz grow). They got flipped around the 23 of November (so they should be done by the end of the month) (plants at the ned are chemdawg) (These are the OG Kush) The blue cheese are in autopots. I ran into a problems with the system (and had what looked like overwatered plants). It resolved but I am still puzzled by it (and yes, i do have a layer of clay pebbles at the bottom). They are also under a low scrog screen (1,5m x 0,75m more or less). As I need to get everything chopped, dried and in jars by March I flipped these just under two weeks ago (and shoved some clones in an organic mix in the corners). I will probably need to even things out a little more (tucking and underdoing tucking), before leaving them to finish out now. I started out using Nutriplex, but switched to GH stuff when they went into flower. Not supplementing with anything except calmg apart from bit foliar feeding of fulvic acid when I wasn’t feeling lazy. (Blue Cheese Scrog) Although not ideal, when I chop the organic plants the light can be moved closer to the girls under the screen.1 point

So things turned out different The plant got pretty rootbound and choices had to be made... I pulled in a joint, a cup of coffee and the spade and made a home for the lady... I dropped some compost in the bottom and added Mycoroot and Rock Phosphate just to please her... Seeing that I pulled her down a little bit earlier in the season I decided to keep going with it... She is opened up nicely and I defoliated her a little by getting rid of all those huge ass leafs. Very impressed with the size. So let's see what she does in a few weeks with all the new space...1 point
-
She still hasn't done anything more than pushing those few pistils/ pre sex pistils. I pulled the main cola down and tied it to one of the structure poles. That way I can train it up the pole if she grows taller. The bottom growth has catched up very well and it's almost an even canopy. I scratched the surface and luckily still not rootbound. I have spare pot but don't think it'll be necessary....1 point
