  1. It would actually be interesting to reset the poll and start a new one. Just because a company started out well, does not mean they are still first pick. The market has grown since the poll was first put up, new seedbanks have opened up locally and stock has increased overall. @420SA what do you think about making it a yearly poll? Perhaps start a new poll for 2020?

  2. Good thinking! Rather than a reset I'll create a new topic and pin it. As of today this poll is now closed

  3. I vote @Cannabist their service and variety are awesome. Ordered from their local stock on Friday 31st of Jan and it got delivered today. Have ordered seeds from various seed banks over the years, local and abroad, I must say that I have found my new favourite seed bank. PS. I have no affiliation with them.

  4. It's that time of the season, time for another run. Ironically about 6 hours after I started my germination, Eskom came through with their new start of load shedding. This run is heavily dominated with GMO and Chem with a little bit of something sweet in the Brown Sugar. But I'm definitely looking for some strong chemical and garlic terps in this run. I've popped 15 beans to take into account potential males, I'll be hopefully picking out the best 9 females and placing them into 25L pots for flower. They will be started under 240W of QB, then flowered under 480W of QB. Freedom Farms will be the soil of choice, but I haven't completed decided on my nutrient schedule yet, thinking of trying more organic living soil feeds than usual, maybe some compost teas, cover crops, kelp etc. - 3x Thug Pug - Mule Fuel (Reg) - 4x Archive - Face on Fire (Reg) - 3x DVG - Absinthe (Reg) - 2x Cannarado - Roasted Garlic Margy (Reg) - 1x In House - Garlic Sherbert (Fem) - 2x Cannarado - Brown Sugar (fem)

  5. I would agree with most of what has been said, a good breeder should look at the bigger picture, not just breed for looks but also disease resistance, vigour, not bottleneck genes entirely and put a healthy genetics representation onto the market place that offers some stability of the intended genes he or she wanted to develop. I wouldn't include Matt Riot of riot seeds in that personally, as i don't consider what he does seed breeding, but that might just be me, and i always questions those who appoint themselves as genetic authorities rather than earn that spot. There are so many amazing breeders out there currently, look for those who seem to pass off the image and message that you would like to portray, look for realistic pricing, and well develop seed lines with a high occurrence of high quality offspring. If you are looking for a certain gene do you homework and see who has the closest to the source, if looking for Triangle Kush or the white then swamp boys, if looking for a wide array of elite clone hybrids then Archive or CSI humboldt These include for me, amongst many others Bodhi seeds Archive Bloom Seed co CSI humboldt Relentless genetics Symbiotic Thugpug Swamp boys Eskobar seeds Karma genetics and many many more, but be careful, its a seed business and some people just want you hard earned cash

  6. Hi @Smelly Joe , no worries man, life gets busy sometimes, you can drop updates whenever it suites you. She is still looking good after the serious beating, happy about the recovery, just keep a eye out for male saks on her, I have had some of these Cookie hybrids go hermie on me after serious stress. I don't want to let you stress out, but just mentioning it in-case the worst happens, wouldn't want to ruin the rest of your crop. Sometimes it will only make one or two male saks and then carry on flowering as usual, those i just pluck before they want to open, but if more male flowers develop on new bud sites I cull the plant. Thanks for all the effort bro, really cool seeing your plants

  7. There were some haircuts performed over the weekend. Sprayed with milk and water solution and all appears to be in order. The 3 thats in full flower seem to do ok, this is my first grow so not sure how they should look by now. Are there any tips and tricks to help with better quality buds etc? I fed them their normal nutrients yesterday and on Saturday I gave them some molasses. Today is the 24th day for the 3 in full flower. Please feel free to comment, suggest or criticize, its the only way I will learn.

  8. So the grow is in the back section of the house that no one stays in (I use one of the rooms to work in sometimes and the other as the grow room). And yes, the smell is getting real. Without the filter you smell the plants as soon as you come into the yard if I leave the sliding doors open. At the moment I am exhausting into the bathroom next to the grow room - and running a separate fan to push (smelly) air into the filter. this is really is something I want to find a better solution to - I read on some forum that by connecting two inline fans you can increase the force of the air into the filter, but I have yet to give It a try. I really wanted to finish this grow by the end of feb, but yeah...might need another week at least. one of the the OG Kush I am growing is coming on its tenth week and she looks she will need at least week or even two more - giving her ripen but I can't say its doing much yet. massive colas though. the blue cheese is frosting up, but by no means anything special or stand out yet. and yes, at least now I will know. one seems to be more cheese leaning in relation to bud structure.

  9. Would have expected the cheese genetics in it to be stinking up your house by now. Maybe it's blueberry leaning and the terp production gonna happen now in the last 2/3/4 weeks. Barneys state 7-8 weeks but we all know more like 9-10 weeks. How's the frost production? Cheese's are generally not very frosty and blueberry is quite frosty so that might indicate something. Nevertheless your garden is rocking. If Barneys disappoints atleast we will know for ourselves.

  10. Thanx @Bospatrollie2I have hopes for this one,big hopes. I was looking at her and thinking, "my oh my, you've just pre sexed"........ So from now on she will get fed to give me that fat ass buds we all want. I haven't had time to get up to the mountains again to fetch some ingredients for a tea so hopefully I'll get there next weekend. So for now it'll be some Molasses and Bio-Bloom

  12. They already looking better. Much less mites already. Guess the hectic cape town wind took care of them. Will leaving them outside to finish as suggested by @CreX

  13. Looks like she recovered well, the winds can do some damage. Hope she rewards you for your efforts. She does stretch a bit, but the colas on my lady shows a lot of promise. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  14. I've been buying seeds for a long time. Directly from European seed banks and from holy smoke seeds when they first came available. I bought from green smoke room when they first opened and had a hidden menu that required a special password that was very difficult to obtain. Putting the price aside the best customer service I've received was from @Cannabist, well except for when he 1st opened and payfast froze his account. But even then he fixed the issue and compensated all affected by it. I highly recommend @Cannabist to everyone. On a side note I have no affiliation with them. I've just been super happy with the owners attitude and his willingness to assist. Don't believe me, give them a try...

  15. Things has not been well for the lady after the wind storms we had and she took a hell of a beating. Some of her limbs were pretty damaged and forced to be removed which left me with this. It took some time for her to recover hence the reason for not updating as I should. Sorry @Dank. But the left over parts is the good parts and the ones that matter. The wind basically lollipopped her for me so I should be grateful in a way, I guess She pre sexed and she's off to do her thing. Super excited to see what she's gonna bring to my jars.... Updates should be more frequent fron now on as she seems to be fully settled in

  16. Hi man, this is one of the lowest effort methods I have found, providing a few conditions are met. If you have a space that is not situated close to your females, or without a lot of bypassing traffic, preferable a house where there is no growing going on (im lucky enough to know a cool old lady). I put the plant on a big piece of cardboard paper next to a window that gets some direct sunlight (i make sure the windows remain closed. You can also use a cardboard box with the top open, lined with cardboard paper to catch the pollen. So the male plant just flowers out dropping its pollen on the cardboard paper, every day or two I would go give it a shake, collect pollen with a card, then do the steps you mentioned. And of course hit the shower, clothes in the wash, etc. Another method is similar you just need to build a little breeder box, with the right mesh to keep the pollen in, similar to how they do tomato's, this is my preferred method for a natural pollination, ie, boy and girl open air pollination, but in the breeder box. Hope that helps a little bit bro, peace and buds!

  17. @DankFiend Garden looking on point. Beautiful well trained plants. Good job... love how the fan is just there in the middle of it all amongst the sexy ladies. Too bad about the bud rot. Good choice in bringing that plant down. I can imagine the airflow has improved. Late flower is always nail biting times. These weeks just need to pass by so you can reach the finish line and then maybe one of your blue cheeses can reward you with a dehumidifier for next round. I haven't flipped my blue cheese as yet. Over grew them like always. Had to bring them down to size. Gave them a week to recover from all the broken branches. Tomorrow they get flipped.

  18. Had a bit of s shitty week with the grow. Outdoor the sorbet got battered by hail, which ripped through leaves and bud sites. The damaged buds now also make bud rot a real possibility. Indoors, I did indeed notice bud rot on one of the main colas of the chemdawg plant. I caught it early but I don't really have too much time to keep an eye on the plant, so decided to harvest her (rather than just cutting away the rot). this means she is at least a week early - all things considered the yield wasn't too bad for a 10l plant chopped early (but I still need to weigh it after its dry). I also disconnected the carbon filter which, combined with having with one less plant, I am hoping will bring the RH down (as the smell is pretty bad I connected the filter to another fan so it can clean the air in the room I am exhausting into. Its not ideal, but at least its keeping the stink in the room) . here are some pics pf the blue cheese. The star of the tent is actually the go Kush at the moment. will post a pic later in the week
