So update for this week: Buds sites seem to be progressing nicely. Although I'm loving the coir as a medium so far it's becoming a bit of a hassle to water it three times a day, I'll probably try bigger pots next time. Week 13 Grape Balls of Fire: This plant has bud sites everywhere, very nice structure. T Crescendo RBX2: Sensi Star: Probably my favourite so far. Very leafy but thick branches, great structure and thick bud sites Braincake: This one just keeps getting taller. This plant also seems to have the occasional leaf yellowing on the bottom leaves (looks like nitrogen def), it gets the same nutrients as the other plants so I'm not sure if it's actually related to a deficiency or whether it's just a strain related thing. I think this one is going to take some time to complete it's flowering.2 points

There is just something about organics that make buds so tasty. There is no better organic growing than in a "Living Soil" teaming with beneficial Bacteria, Mycorrhizal Fungi, and everything else your Cannabis needs to grow the dankest of bud. And best of all, you don't need any other nutrients at all for the entire life cycle of the plant. When I decided to go a full on organic route, I spent hours and hours searching the net for formulations, that are firstly effective, and secondly, has ingredients that are easily obtainable in South Africa from a sustainable source, and affordable. I have had to make many substitutions, since guano’s are not so readily available, and they are super expensive when you do manage to get hold of it. So I thought I would share my soil mix that I grow all my babies in. Super Soil Ingredients 60l Potting Soil (I use DoubleGrow) 40l Mushroom Compost ( Also DoubleGrow) 25l Worm Castings (Hortishop) 500g Bone Meal 500g Talborne (I do not use the Fruit and flower, but the VitaVeg 6-3-4) 1kg SeaMunGus (Chicken Manure and Kelp pellets and plants love it!) 1kg Lucerne Pellets (Rabbit food) 500g Agricultural Lime 500g Volcanic Rock Dust (Turbogrow) 1 sachet of rock phosphate 500g Mycoroot 1 Compost activator sachet (Effecto Brand) 500g Brown Sugar (You can add Molasses, but I find that it takes the micro-organisms longer to eat up the sugar) Once all these are thoroughly mixed, this soil needs to mature and stabilize over a period of 2-3 months minimum; however the soil becomes sweeter the longer you leave it. I store my soil in large black bins, and chuck the whole lot out and mix through once a month for the first 2 months. This soil needs to be kept only just moist, but not wet. Pro Mix Ingredients 60l Coco Peat 30l Worm castings 30l Mushroom compost 20l Perlite 40L Super Soil (This first needs to stabilize before using) 500g Bone Meal 500g Talborne VitaVeg 6-3-4 500g volcanic Rock Dust 500g Mycoroot 500g Agricultural Lime Regardless of the size of the container I grow in, I fill the bottom half with Super Soil, and the remainder with Pro Mix. From seed to harvest I have never had deficient plants, and I only use de-chlorinated tap water (Just let it stand for 24 hours or more to let all the Chlorine evaporate. Unless your tap water pH is really off, you don’t even need to pH correct your water. The lime in the mix is a brilliant buffer to acidity. It does cost a bit to mix this soil up, but the results speak for themselves!1 point

It's possible. The issue started shortly after switching to the flowering nute schedule so it might be that because this plant is flowering slower it needed the veg nutrient schedule with more nitrogen for a bit longer. The weird thing is it doesn't consume nearly as much water as the other plants. It's definitely a very inbred strain, had some webbed leaves on the seedlings. In the grow journals I've seen online the bud seems nice though so fingers crossed1 point

@Bennie All the guys are correct about too intense light or heat causing foxtailing. Your case is a little different. The colas on the side of the tent which probably are not directly under the light are foxtailing as well so it's not too intense light. The leaves on top of colas show that they have just a little heat stress. Now look at overall health of plants... they suffering from nute burn. That could be the reason for the foxtailing. Alright bois and girls!. My first run is slowly coming to fruition. The Slurijuggs are finishing fastest, citradelic sunsets just behind, and the early lemon berry coming in last.1 point

U think you have some foxtailing going on.. The indoor guys will have some more info.. I think its got to do with your lights.. some strains, I stand to be corrected, does it.1 point

@Dank Explode is correct, damn she just took off. I placed her in the flowering room and she just went crazy under the hps lights, gave her a decent dose of tea she totally loved it. (plant on the right) Doing some LST and going to get a few clones, then she will be allowed to go permanently to the flower room, not going big this round just want to get some ladies done flowering.1 point

I must be honest, I wonder whether we are able to notice the difference between say 24% THC and 28% THC on the same strain. As soon as you go for a different strain, the dominance in terms of Sativa / Indica I find plays a larger role in how you find the strain. So what I am saying is that someone may find an Indica dominant strain with say 20% THC more potent than a Sativa dominant strain with say 24% THC. I cannot confirm whether this is actually the case, although having smoked some bud which had been tested in a lab and came back with basically 26% THC and trying to compare it to the other stuff I have grown and some of my friends have grown ... it's rather difficult. Although I do still prefer going for a strain with higher THC percentage and some of the stuff I have grown def does not feel as strong to me compared to the strains which are listed as higher THC percentages. For example the Bruce Banner #3 is known to have been tested above 30% THC on a regular basis and my GDP is crossed with the same BB#3 that I grew out and both are decent in terms of potency when compared to my Daquari Lime auto - not sure what THC percent the plant is rated at but since it is an auto I am going to assume around 20% and then when comparing it to my CBD Critical Mass - which is meant to only be 6 - 8% THC and then 6 - 8% CBD, I do find I need to smoke quite a little more of it to get a similar buzz going but the way the buzz comes on and affects me makes me think the CBD strain could actually be quite a bit higher in THC. Then when comparing that 26% strain which was tested to a strain which is rated 12 - 19% THC, the difference was hard to tell. The 12 - 19% strain was a heavier indica though and the 26% strain a hybrid. Although, when I smoked cheap outdoor bud which is seeded I literally needed like 3 bowls to get a buzz going. I'd love to be able to have more bud tested for THC Potency, although based on my limited experience I am guessing that the difference is not as noticeable unless the THC % jump is quite significant. With that being said, I can certainly still notice a difference in potency between some strains. In terms of terpene profiles, eh, it's part of the experience but I do not smoke for the terpene profiles. I smoke for the effects. I have some weed which is just plain boring and tastes like cardboard but it's the exception among what I have grown. Ironically my CBD strain stands out the most in terms of terpene profile. The smell and taste are extremely unique, to me at least.1 point
