  1. Thats plant scale. There are a few species, they may live in symbiotic relationship with ants. Do a google search, they are not good for your plants and can do enough damage to eventually kill them. You can manually remove them or spray them with an oil/soap solution. Ants around plants like in your pics are usually bad news. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  2. Hello Prom, Check distilique out. They sell little baggies of potassium carbonate. Alkalising powder from the chemist will contain bicarbonate . The way this stuff works is to raise the pH too high for the PM to survive. Milk works on the same principle. Try these okes. They might have what you need https://shop.aquaponics.africa/product/potassium-bicarbonate-100g-2/

  3. Ants herd and farm aphids.. they drink the sweet juice the aphids give, when stimulated. So they also protect them against enemies.. get rid of the ants and the rest on your plants ASAP

  5. I was gifted a Ex Cheese clone and in early November the little girl started flowering.. Early Dec she started revege.. Late Jan she started flowering again.. Unfortunately there was not enough time for her to grow much.. but the superior genes show.. I will update as the flowering progress..

  6. I have a few plants going.. mostly seed from my seeded grow last year.. but this one was my first real dissapointment for this season.. I put a seed in the garden and just left it.. she was a power grower from the start.. She took well to the poor soil and grew with long internodal spacing.. I remember thinking that I was lucky to have more than 80% of the plants be female an no Hermies.. Her smell was fruity and spicy early on.. She was in full bloom.. And then I spotted the balls... And unfortunately culled it was.. That's how it goes..

  7. Small update... plant is still alive and flowering. The infected areas haven't gotten larger, but it looks as if she is struggling a bit. The fungus blocks the channels in the xylem effectively cutting off nutrient supply from the roots to the rest of the plant. Will reapply and see what happens, but not expecting a bumper harvest from this one. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  8. All the best with your battle. This works well as a fungicide spray. I dilute phyta 0.25ml per litre and keep on spraying till its gone. https://biogrow.co.za/products/phyta/ Good luck

  9. Ants you can kill on contact with soapy water, it dissolves the wax coating on their eksoskeleton and they die. You can also use borax and icing sugar, 50/50 mix with bit of water(mix to thick paste) as a bait around nests, ants like sugar and carry it into the nest and they die.(not safe with pets and kids) Otherwise there are many commercial products available, some more nasty than others. 10. I start to get the idea to get some proper gear to SA ^^ Is like the fertilizer.. only real pro option is Bio Bizz.. and that is double the price as in Europe. My first choice isn't available either.. nobody down here imports Plagron! Why?? Don't know. Is like with Serenade .. import. Cant be that hard to get some good products in one grow shop inside SA.. legal growing. Perhaps time.. after 21 years of living in retirement to start working again. Perhaps I am also just a bit grumpy because one of my babies has Coronavirus issues So please nobody take any of my ranting personal.. but I miss so many products down here.

  11. Is due end March... so painfully long. Before I bud wash, I make a braai with the plant only thing mattering to me is quality. I might lose my full outdoor harvest is it spreads.. just the 5k fertilizer i blew into the babies is giving me a sour taste. Somewhere upwind is a badly infected garden... only explanation I can find. Only plant having the issue is standing also in the most windiest spot. Sometimes strange things happen

  12. I need one shower.. is very very early. Never had taste issues with P Bicarb.. but can always bubble the plant if unhappy. Right now, only goal is to get rid of the fungus. I even would apply Serenade on the spots by hand.. but that product is a zero find either ^^ How do you guys survive down here? Right now I use home made apple vinegar.. but the weather is not looking to get better.. so I have 2 options. Go a bit radical or dump the plant... so the others have a fair chance to finish clean.

  16. I’ve been growing in organic soil for a number of years now. My ingredient list is pretty stable, but I love trying new things. I finally got around to reading the Revs’ True Living Organics, and Teaming with Microbes, by another author. Problem is, you struggle to find quality inputs in JHB. Consistency is nowhere. The stuff just about everyone sells as compost is far from it. All the nursery brand names, except Talborne are pretty much useless. My last bag of Fertilis EWC was mostly sand. So, what ingredients do you struggle to get your hands on? What would you like to have access to, that you cannot find now? Ever wanted FAST Ca, without the pH swing, or the Mg? How bout not paying an arm or a leg for Kelp. Ever wanted to try blood meal? Let me know what would rock your boat, If it were available.

  20. Morning, went the honey and cinnamon route with this lady. Scored the cambium vertically in the affected areas in short/shallow 2cm cuts to aid penetration. Applied the honey and cinnamon paste to the affected parts of the stem, then wrapped it up with a breathable material. Never done anything like this before so will have to see how she handles it. Cheers

  21. My kinda thread Autos have some advantages.. and some disadvantages ( at least I got told hehehe) I grew a few and, me, I love autos. My opinion advantages/disadvantages of Autoflower Disadvantage - Got told they taste less good as they grow less long (that is on the list to get tested) - Not a beginner plant, every fuck up will lower your yield substantially, the plant demands perfect growing conditions all the time Advantages 1 Tent for all generations (18/6, 20/4. 24/0 fix light cycle) You can grow a bigger selection on the same space I get a lot more yield from Autos in relation of the fertilizer I put into the plant (cheaper weed) A lot less maintenance work (watering, defoiling) and easier handling of the plants First batch outdoor Autos you plant in October comes 100% without seeds as no males out flowering before the harvest. Over all I like the simplicity of the plant. No light changes, every 2 days 1 liter of water in my 11L pots. I have to grow 12 Autos, to reach the fertilizer consumption of one of my outdoor fems. If they don't yield at least 600g dry, my fem will lose the yield battle.. and that is with a lousy 50g dry calculation per Auto.. we reached on the last 19 Autos we harvested.. friend and myself, an average of 80g dry per plant.. we take that number, fem has to reach over 900g dry if the fertilizer i put into both, are the same amount. An Auto uses about 215ml fertilizer total during her life cycle, one of my outdoor fems stands on around 2865ml per life cycle... quite a bit hehehe (using Bio Bizz.. so fucking expensive ) I only plant Fems these days, if I can't get the Auto version of the plant.

  23. It is recommeded to use a torch and bong, needs higher temperature than a lighter. But yoh, it can make you trip balls. A lot of people recommend a sitter especially if you haven't done hallucinogens before. The feeling can be overwhelming for the mind and body. Would also recommend telling your wife if you should try anything stronger than just the dried leaves. I've never had a hangover or down afterwards, usually feel more "open minded and clear" afterwards. Had some nice experiences while doing meditation, taking a hit and continuing with my oooohhhhhmmm

  24. Compost heap! All you do is dump all your green waste (lawn cutting, drop leaf, what ever organic material) and kitchen waste on a more shady spot in your garden. Rest the micro organisms will do and you end up with very good black soil. Is a bit to fine to use directly, might suffocate your young roots, mix it with Perlite and you have already a awesome medium to plant. Perlite costs a little, the soil is free.. Cycle is about 6 months.. what ever you drop on top, comes out as soil further down around 6 months later. Needs to kept moist to work.

  27. Ideally you wanna get vermicompost... Jamies Garden Shop used to sell it, not sure if he does still.... Then there is this place http://www.wurmbosch.co.za/getmodule.php?id=listitems.php Im sure you'll be able to collect Im sure the doublegrow bags would be good for your AACT's. You could used both EWC and mushroom compost. The more beneficial bacteria and fungi the better
