  1. I am busy trying to decide when to make the flip. I can make the flip anytime from now and I'd be happy with the yield. Both plants are fully mature, however I foresee a potential problem and that is the heights of the to plants. The Royal Gorilla is much more short and stout than the GDP. My thinking is to maybe flip tomorrow to limit the amount of stretch the GDP will have over the Royal Gorilla. They will never be at level canopy height, so inevitably the GDP will get more light than the Royal Gorilla at the end. This may have convinced me to keep the same strain in small tents like this if one is going to do more than one plant. Going to think on it for the day then make the call tomorrow.

  2. Hi guys, the plan is to chow her down for hanging as the flush has been going on for 12 days now, the trichomes look cloudy but are not amber as yet though, any thoughts.... Sent from my SM-N970F using Tapatalk

  3. Looking good! Curious to see the Brix readings as your grow continues. Regarding the height differences, I assume no scrog net? I'd open those plants up a bit more and consider pulling down the GDP plant a bit more to try and keep it shorter for a bit longer to allow the RG to catch up a bit. You will need to find a way to anchor down the twist ties further away from the plant - at least that is what I'd do if it were my grow... Perhaps to the poles of the tent? Hard to judge size, but I'd personally leave those plants to veg and get a bit larger before flipping to flower unless you want to try harvest sooner than later. In the bigger scheme of things, an extra week or two of veg can make a fair difference to overall yield, and its not a long period of time considering the entire duration of a grow from seed to smoke. EDIT: BTW how do you find the LED in veg compared to the HID?

  4. I'm trying to get my second setup together, was gona buy a small tent for vegging and all that, but someone asked me why the hell I would get a tent smaller than the one I already have, so that stuck with me hahah now I'm trying to get everything bigger and upgraded, so the setup I have now will then be used only for veg, clone, seeds all the stuff that can happen under a 18/6 light cycle, might even pop a few autos in there. Then use the new setup for flower, sooo I don't wana take too many clones and all that then I have to spend money on caring for them, money I could've saved to buy everything I needed for a proper perpetual grow. From there will think about a 3rd small tent to keep a mother or two, but then I will need a bigger house!!!

  5. Did not have any nutes to help out with flowering but had some 4:3:4 and worked it into the topsoil.. seems to help..

  6. Thanks @PsyCLown, always appreciate the input Yeah no scrog net this time. Too much of a mission with a DWC and lid top. I'll do a scrog again when I build my RDWC system later on. I don't want to train anymore in terms of bending the plants. One undercover goal of this grow is to find out how the plants grow specifically with just the amount of training I have already done. The differences in height was an overlooked error and another lesson learnt. Not too fussed on yield this time around, so I might just flip early and make like a bonsai type deal The 250W Quantum Board LED is comparable to the 250W MH bulb I used to use, easily. The ability to also lower the wattage is great with seedlings too. Overall I would recommend the QB over a 250W MH any day. The real comparison will be in flower I rate. Super excited.

  7. Hey bud! Before getting into it, I dig the look and structure of that plant, I also always have a bagseed growing, that being said I have to advise you to not invest too much in that plant, sorry man! Bag seed is never the same strain as what was in the bag, not even with good weed, that's the hardest thing we have to accept as growers hahah. So I guess there's your first answer, and even if you had flowers on her even if you harvested the bud, telling the strain is basically impossible. It's a hybrid, forsure. The only way of telling the sex is waiting till it flowers. As soon as they flower either on the day or the next day you'll be able to see the sex.

  8. Mister @Dank 's Vanilla Kush Cookie lady is ready for the chop at long last. We are doing a two stage harvest as she is just too big. The big colas will come down tomorow.

  9. I have done 3 different strains from seedsman all photos, Critical purple kush , badazz og cheese and their cookies& cream. I can't complain about what I have grown from them, the cheese is the first round and will keep a few clones. Critical purple kush is fire and a keeper as well, flowery fruit punch smell all the way and I got lucky with n very nice pheno. Busy flowering 3 clones from this lady. (right top coner is Chocolope) Their cookies & cream was just perfect, I never took clones and really pissed I didn't. So for me it's been a good run with seedsman and looking forward to try more of their gear. Currently have a seedsman northern lights auto going as well.

  10. I'm very excited myself! Hahah I know exactly what you mean by the cheese smell, I never understood the whole cheese thing except that it's also something with a strong funky smell, but with my blue cheese buds from the last grow curing now, everytime I burp the jars the smell I get makes me laugh, because there's no other way to describe it as cheesy. Got a sweet kinda funk that reminds you of the smell you get right before you put some kinda sweet soft white cheese in your mouth! That's awesome, may I have a look see at that seedsman plant? Is this the first of their seeds for you or have you previous experience with them as breeders? For training I usually just go with the garden wire and some paper binders along the brim of the pot, but I think the biggest mitake I made with the last grow was not scrogging! So definitly going that route this time, specially since it's such a cheap thing to incorporate and makes the world of a difference if you do it right!

  11. Nice selection brother. I have a Seedsman badazz Og cheese that is about 5/6 weeks into flowering, and the mature Gouda smell is stinking up the whole block, smells like someone making grilled cheese sandwiches. You plan on any training for the plants?

  12. @SmokeyZero Hey bud, I did actually get a few cuttings of all of them, but they went rogue. When I did a cut back there where a few branches that I just couldn't toss, no tops or proper clone sized branches, but some actually pulled through! I didn't have space or proper grow medium for them at the time so all the clones that made it ended up in my greenhouse, nameless with some generic soil mix, nothing special and all in small pots getting odd nutes. They're all in flower now, 3 plants turned out pretty good, but will only really be able to judge when I get to smoke the buds! As for the new indoor grow, I made a whole new thread for that, here's the link, https://www.420sa.co.za/topic/3643-new-grow-on-the-go/

  13. I usually mix up my own soils, but the Hawaiian Snow cutting just got transplanted (no-till) into a pot that I think was home to a rose before, the cutting was savaged by my dog so didn't really think it would make it. The cheese clone is planted in some old homemade soilmix that was lying around, the cutting was completely soil-less before, the mix was maybe a bit too strong. That's some solid advice, with moving house I'm still busy making my new compost heap here. Gardening in more than one spot is biting me in the butt right now, i have to make do without a lot of my stuff, including bubbler, some amendments and lekke ol compost heap. Thanks man, shot for the heads up, that makes total sense
