  1. We all having to make due and substitute. I normally use seagrow, ecobuz, epsom, molasses and kelpak. We growing organic in soil atm, have had to diy on a few things. The volumes and mixing ratios I'll leave up to your discretion. I've used some of these ''solutions'' experimentally to correct defs and keep my grow going. Some work fast, others are slow release and remember less is more. Check your ph if you can. 1. Epsom for Mg and S (MgSo4) you can find in the shops in baking section. 2. Calcium I used the knf method- ground eggshell mixed with vinegar. Otherwise gypsum or dolomite if you can find it. 3. For Nitrogen I use my own organic compost and koipond water(contains ammonia and nitrite)and coffee grounds(slow release N) You can also use diluted urine - but each to his own. 4. Potassium you find in bananas and wood ash. (ash from the braai-NO briqettes) 5. Phosphorus - got some bonemeal(slow release), otherwise you can go the knf method and cook and boil some bones for bonebroth.( P and Ca ) It can be done with some extra elbow grease. Google is your friend here, do some research and find out what can work for you. You may become an Organic alchemist. Disclaimer: No plant was harmed in any of these experimental ideas.....except when they were enjoyed in my pipe or joint. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  6. Roughly a week since the flip. The stretch continues and another big defoliation done. I do not expect to have to do another big defoliation from now, probably just manage big fan leaves. Before Defoliation After Defoliation

  8. Yea, home bound there is little you can do... The Epsom salts will only do good with the magnesium and sulphates And the eggshell vibe will help for some calcuim. But the best would be to have prepared your soil beforehand with all the necessary bits. But it's your first plant!! So no harm done haha. @Mambawana is right with the time frames, but you should also consider popping a few new beans for fun. Or hold off until after winter. Are you planning on an indoor setup?

  12. Sometimes even a organic mix can be packing a lot of N, how and when the microbes release it i dont always get, this has happened to me a few times over the years with adding homemade wormcastings. When I started out making wormcastings I added way too much green and not enough browns, now I know that is how to make a supercharged N casting. The BlueDream is a Blueberry x Haze, both of which can be finicky strains to grow, don't give up on her! Perhaps a basic compost tea for her can help bring those N fixing bacteria's into check, you can also try a more fungal tea, watering with ph below 6.5 will help the fungis thrive a bit more in the soil. I can always send you some of my new testers after lockdown, perhaps even a cutting if you want!

Genetics: In House Genetics - Sugar Cane x2 (Slurricane x Platinum) In House Genetics - Bananium (Banana OG x Platinum) Ethos - Banana Daddy (GDP x Banana Hammock) Ethos - Mandarin Cookies (Forum Cut Cookies x Mandarin Sunset) Ethos - Orange Kush Cake (Wedding Cake x Jilly Bean) x (Sour Tangie x Rozé Zkittlez x OG Eddy Lepp) Ethos - Glue (GG4 x (Ethos Kush IBL x GG4) x GG4) Mosca - Alien Wedding (Wedding Crasher x Fire Alien White) DNA - Holy Grail Kush (Kosher Kush x OG18) DNA - Strawberry Banana (Banana Kush x Bubblegum) Humboldt - Green Crack Humboldt - Gorilla Breath (Original Glue x OGKB) Setup: Seedlings = 110W COB in 80x80, Veg = 240W Quantum Board in 120x120, Flower = 480W Quantum Board in 120x120 2x 6" Extractor 10L and 15L pots Nutrients and Soil: Freedom Farms Classic Soil BioBizz Grow Freedom Farm's Kelp Freedom Farm's Fire Juice Wurmbosch Worm Castings BioBizz Bloom _______________________________________________________________ Germination & Week 1 The germination was done in paper towels with open ziplock bags for humidity retention, as well as inside of a humidity dome on a heat mat. Had a 100% germination rate on these beans. ____________________________________________________________ Week 2 Veg Week 2 was going alright, though I was a bit light on the watering which resulted in some slowed root growth. All girls were looking decent except for the Ethos Glue which revealed itself as a runt early on. Was later removed from the tent during mid veg. Kept them under a heat mat for a while since temperatures were a bit low. ____________________________________________________________ Week 3 Veg Transplanted into slightly larger pots with some Mycoroot. Roots took hold during this period and the plants started to look much better, split picture below is a 5 day difference after transplant. Still only giving water at this stage, pH to 6.3. __________________________________________________________________ Week 4 Veg They were looking better in week 4, though still recovering a bit from the slow root growth in the second week. However they were definitely speeding up, with the Mandarin Cookies pictured below taking the early lead in appearance. ___________________________________________________________________ Week 5 Veg I started to give them the first feed in week 5, providing them with 1/3 strength Kelp, as they weren't showing any real defs at this stage and wanted to just give them something for the following week. It was also at this time that I did a bit of a late topping to the girls. _________________________________________________________ Week 6/7 Veg Week 6 of veg and the plants were moved into the 1.2x1.2m tent under 240W of QB. Feeding them once a week during this period with 1/4 dose BioBizz Grow and 1/6 strength Kelp. _____________________________________________ Week 7 Veg Week 7 I gave them a feed of Worm Castings, but noticed that none of the plants were very hungry and a once a week feed was seeming more than enough. Pictured below is the Alien Wedding by Mosca. _____________________________________________________________________________ Week 8 Veg In week 8, I took cuts of the girls. Pictured is one of the Sugar Cane cuts after 6 days in EasyPlugs. ___________________________________________________________ Week 1/2 of Flower This was a few days ago now, I am currently into the second week of 12/12 and the plants are starting to show clusters of pistils. The stretch on the Green Crack and Orange Kush Cake is unbelievable and I had to tie them down just before flipping to promote some hormones to the lower nodes. Pictured below, in order - Mandarin Cookies, Green Crack, Alien Wedding and Sugar Cane Will update this thread as the plants progress through flower.

  15. I decided on doing the flip today Did another defoliation in preparation and there is good light penetration throughout the plants. I took a brix reading again, ladies are still sitting at around a brix level of 5. So far in veg I've only recorded a measurement of 5 throughout. I am expecting it to rise as the preflower stage begins. Before Defoliation After Defoliation

  17. I missed a few weeks while I was on holiday, doing lazy holiday things. So here's a catch up post, about half the tent has been chopped. - Week 8 Update During week 8, the Orange Kush Cake really started to pack on some weight and continued to fade heavily. Definitely the prize of the tent. The Alien Wedding was the fastest to finish, at week 8. The bud is nothing to go crazy over, but the fresh cut had a very distinct lemon twist scent. I did harvest a little early on this one, intentionally. But trichomes were still mature with some amber. Sugar Cane was also nearing the finished at this point, and would become the second chopped.

  18. After deciding to get rid of my one bar light I ventured onto building my own. Material: U-Connect steel frame 25mm + corner angles cut to 1.2m a piece. 10 * 31mm UChannels cut to equal sizes (even though i didnt at times) 20 * Bridge lux eb series gen 2 strips (you can go for more efficient lm301b strips or other samsung strips, these were dirt ship 8$ a strip) their lengths are 1.1m, you can opt for different strips or smaller lengths. 2 * LRS drivers 350 Watts 36v (I plan to change to HLG at some point, to bring them in line with the other HLG 600's I run). 1 * 25m Thermal adhesive tape. Cost cant really remember as i needed a few things like tools, strips and power supplies + customs came to around 4k (free shipping) UChannels were cut, and sprayed with hi resistant heat spray paint (you don't have to do this, I did it for fun, and to try hide the horrible scratches on the channel, I have no noticed any reduction in thermal conductivity), connect it bars were setup into a square shape as depicted below. JB Weld was used to secure the channels to the frame, I tried pratley rubbish and it did not work, this was allowed to cure and set for 24-36 hours. The strips were laid with the double sided adhesive thermal tape After curing, frame was resprayed with the high heat spray paint, I was going to sand down the joints on the epoxy but i got lazy, I was also going to grind down the edges, but decided one day... (most likely never). A strip was run on the test bench. Strips were laid on the frame. Test run of strips Another test run In its new home, running at 150 watts per side, total of 300+- in all, potential running of 700 (true wall watts) I still need to get some 3.4mm bolts and securely hold strips to the channels as I got some dirt underneath a few and noticed the adhesive coming loose.
