Not really an expert on lighting and things but I have experimented with household bulbs and have veged plants under 3×8w bulbs each, and honestly the plants werent scrawny or excessively stretched out and thats just with 24W of screw ins per plant. This one is a bit stretchy, but thats just coz i kept the lights higher and was too lazy to move them down. Then this plant has much tighter nodes and is much bushier I guess the only way to know would be to experiment for yourself and see if you get the results you're after.3 points

So i trimmed one or two leaves off the plant when i went to take a photo of the leaves.. all green at least, lol.. but I found some flowers starting to form on the bottom rear branches... now you can see the Rosemary behind the tree again.. lol2 points

Thanks, I'll try those pHs, I wasn't too sure on whether or not to treat it similar to hydro because the grow medium is pH balanced to 6.5 I will let it veg for a bit more, but I can only fit a single 20L pot in the tent at a time so I'm planning to use 2 x 10L pots this round. I understand how tree size vs bud size works, and I'm not aiming for maximum yield this run. I simply want to taste the strains and make some clones for next harvest. I have problems with high humidity and temps so I try to maximise airflow around and between the leaves... I plan on lollipopping them after they stretch a bit more. And yes I do water by hand so it makes things much easier. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk2 points

By the power of Jacob Zuma and a 'C' in 'Woodwork', and a tip picked up from @TheUltimateNoob's current grow diary, I built a square frame to rise the cooler box of the shorter plant to try get it closer to the height of it's partner. Didn't get it perfectly right, it's still a bit short, but much better than previously. Definitely going to keep to the same strain when growing two plants at once in the same tent in future. Switched to full on flower nutes now, preflowers are looking pretty. Still a while to go before full on flowers, but it's looking good.2 points

I believe Formula 1 is coco and perlite, I'd say use 5.9 to 6.3 as your oh range rather. Once again, you don't have to but I'd let the plant veg for a big longer and get a bit bigger in 20l pots before I flip. The size of the plants affect your yield as well. I like to grow my plants out a bit more and then lollipop them, helps with airflow below the canopy and if you're watering my hand makes it a bit easier too as there is a bit of space between to get your watering can in there and not wet the leaves. @CannaCi Growing is sutuational... Well done on having a few plants and a plan. The equipment will come2 points

The food actually is curious.. just some good ground with some compost mixed, and for fertilizer..... fish shit. Lol.. my wife made fish shit a water dilution, poured it over the garden, and everything grows well. Its a slow releasing fert, as to not cause burns. I will take another pic tomorrow and show the condition of the leaves. They look excellent.. why did i flip now? Because the plant was a late start, so i had to balance between growth and flowering time. But I read something interesting, in that the buds turn purple because of below avg temperature, so I'm hoping for some purple buds!2 points

Welcome. You pushing it late. Will be interesting to see the results. I have 2 still going outdoors that are finishing end of May to mid June, and that's cutting it close for CT winter already.2 points

Nah he is doing it right. Ideally the 1st of March flip would be the best before winter... But he Will still yeild almost indoor quality outdoor if the rain and hail play ball Welcome yo!!! Let's see how they turn out what are you feeding them?2 points

Hey everyone! My name is Wookiee, I'm smoking a bud, not too far far away. Not too long ago, I built a corner garden for my herbs. And after some time passed, some herbs were replaced by the nice green ones. Currently in the growth process is a Sour Grape strain. The little one on the left is an unkown strain, but it has a potent smell.. got too little sunlight for a long time, so my friend asked me to take it.. I have an outside light that was strong enough to keep the plant on a 24 hour day cycle, so it grew very well. I dimmed the light to switch over to flowering. The other stuff growing is Lemon Thyme on the left and some Bassil on the right with Parsly in the middle.. and a Sunnflower that my daughter broke in half and after saving it, dumbass slugs ate it. But with the light dimmed, I dont think it will grow anymore.. Behind the Sour Grape is Rosemary.. lol. But you wont see it anymore.1 point

Greetings everyone. I'll keep this one relatively short. I have a 60cm x 60cm x 120cm DIY grow box that I want to setup for vegging to hopefully get a perpetual grow going. I can't buy a new light right now so I've put something together with what I had on hand (including a timer) These are the lights wattages; LED plate: 1 x ~48w actual (Chinese UFO Blurple) White LED bulbs: 2 x 9w Osram 6500k LED bulbs: 2 x ~28w actual (red+blue+white+UVA+IR) Do you think this would be enough to veg 2-4 trees for 5-6 weeks? I could also veg 2 trees and use the rest of the space for cloning or keeping a bonsai mother.1 point

Wow, this is an old thread... The link does not even work anymore. I sometimes wonder about this a bit too, if you have a sativa and let it mature heavily until the trichomes are mostly amber, the effects are similar to that of an indica. The fact that a lot of plants nowadays are hybrids... I dunno, what are your thoughts?1 point

Sheesh she is a large lady!! You better get some kind of a trellis structure up before the wind and rain flop your colas over Looking really good1 point

the driver is just the power supply. Meanwell is just the brand. Most cobs need to be driven. Some have built in drivers.1 point

Geez, no wonder! That is shocking that they're selling something like that. Not only is the alu absorbing the heat from the QB's but the led driver too if its attached to the alu. Unfortunately it seems people are going to these extremes to make extra profit as opposed to supplying a quality product. For a while I've been trying to see how I can make quantum boards more cost effective and have come across a few issues, I can't believe they're selling them just like that. Heat will reduce the lifespan of the LED's and the performance will deteriorate a lot quicker. So by the time you're on your 2nd or 3rd grow the LED's won't be as potent compared to when they were new. Migro did a nice video comparing some led lights after a few of usage I think or something like that to see how the diodes held up and what their output was like compared to when it was new. Like other growing lights, LED's do not last forever and they drop in strength as time goes on. So after 5 years it may still produce light but its not nearly as effective compared to a new light with fresh diodes. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point

@Ill_Evansorry for hijacking your post. @PsyCLowni have attached a picture below. They made use of 3 pieces of flat aluminum to mount the QB and then another two angle angle irons for the Meanwell driver. The grow-light got so hot, in a span 30min, I couldn't touch it. I removed the two angle irons that was for mounting the Meanwell driver and I added the fan. Apart from that, the plants and I love the grow-light.1 point

Blessed evening fellow 420SA members.I hope everyone is feeling irie and blazing it up. Been quite a while since I have properly been back on the forum, joined in 2018 (formerly Ras Judah) but have been through some things over the past two years unfortunately holding me back from growing this beautiful plant of ours. Never got to formally introduce myself at the time, but here it goes. Don’t really know what to say actually and the bong I just had made it a bit worse have some experience growing outdoors and indoors although trying to read up on a lot to refresh the memory, a lot of the journals have helped immensely as well. Out here in the Eastern Cape spent some time up in the Kei as well but back to the city life. Starting up small again with a 1 meter square tent that I’m using to veg with a swak blurple led (400 watt hid in the pipeline) planning on building a diy flowering space and then looking at investing in some quantum boards once the budget allows me to do so. Vegging a couple of clones from a mate and had some seeds stored away that I popped so will be vegging them taking clones to veg and then pop outdoors and then hopefully I’ll have a flowering space to flower some of the strains indoor. Probably speaking about that a bit too much so I’ll start a journal once things get going proper. Otherwise stay blessed peeps and I hope everyone is keeping safe during this lockdown, lots of time to clean out the grow space I just hope there’s enough bud to last us. Cool, thanks for the info [emoji1303] I'm gonna get a fan in there for extraction then have a go at vegging something in the box. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk1 point

Yeah the lack of equipment is a pain. I know they won't die, I just wanted to see if anyone knew if it would be worth the effort. I'll try to keep the lights low to minimise stretching and get a small fan for circulation. Haha, it is my only option other than starting each grow from seed in the same tent. On paper it seems like it would be powerful enough. Reminds me of @CreX's Frankenstein Nova build. I rate he would be able to tell you how far these lights will get you.1 point

Welcome to the forum! Nice man, so just recently flipped to flower basically? Aren't you scared cold fronts may kill the plants before they are mature and ready for harvest? Put your harvest around July sometime, roughly, if you've just flipped. They're looking good though!1 point

Believe it definitely has benefits. Personally have treated our animals with canna oil for allergies and pain with visible improvements. Know of a number of elderly persons that use cannabis for various ailments from pain/inflammation to parkinsons. Best of all, most results have been without the negative side effects associated with conventional treatments. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk1 point
