  1. Oh! I saw something that also might help... Those led globes you have in... See if you can't get a fitting with a less omni directional disperser... Downlight shape are better with a more unidirectional light focus.

  2. Decided to give the ladies a light defoliation to get more light and air throughout the plants. The humidity was also sitting a bit high in the 60's range, so hoping this will also help to drop it a little bit as the flowers begin to blossom. Still keeping the overall defoliation less than what I have done before, just to see the results. I've felt like in the past I have gone a bit overboard with the defoliation so I am attempting a healthy middle-ground to what I'm used to.

  3. Hi All! Been trolling for a few days. Found the forum one night while I was on a higher path going down the internet wormhole Really like all the extensive knowledge here. I have been using cannabis for years and years, but really only on the odd occasions. Until more recently at-least Loving all the hype about it and how the medicinal side is coming out a lot more. I tried a couple very late grows (Jan and Feb) and they didn't really work out, but I learnt a lot. Have 2 tiny outdoors left that have the tiniest amount of flower growing. And then a final 3rd plant which seems stunted due to lack of nutes and thus is not growing much bud. I built my own indoor set-up in the last 2 weeks and have my 3rd plant in there for now while I am figuring out temps etc. Have a bunch of stuff I am waiting for that is being delivered. Should kick off my first proper grow with the right knowledge now and my indoor set-up. Really looking forward to that and learning more here!

  5. As long as it tastes good and has a nice effect on me.. I consume it. I do not prefer one over the other.. mornings I am more a Sativa type.. evening more Indica.. but all of them in Ruderalis form ^^ Smokers forget the third strain.. growers know it

  6. Haha, yeah I know, I know. I'm saving up for a qb kit and some other bits. I'd just like to test out having a perpetual grow before I commit. I've had success with each of these lights individually before so I'm seeing how far I can push all of them together. The bulbs have been used for vegging and cloning before with success, and the plate has vegged and flowered a microgrow with great success. 1) Thank you sir, I try to not buy anything new unless I absolutely need to. 2) Thanks for bringing that to my attention[emoji108][emoji2533]. I was more focused on balancing out the spectrum with the white bulbs so I didn't bother to check if all of them are giving appropriate lux levels for their heights (I say lux because I have no way of testing par). I have a feeling I need to raise the middle plate and lower the white bulbs a bit. Won't be too much trouble as the whole fixture is made of 4 pieces that can be unscrewed easily. 3) I can raise and lower the fixture easily, there are metal hooks on each corner and a loop of string through all of them, enabling me to change the height. Thanks for stopping by and helping me out man, I really appreciate it. It's gonna get going pretty soon. By the end of next week hopefully. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk

  7. My light has a uv diode so I'm pretty sure that helps a lot, but I always make sure that there's enough airflow. Its essential.. Any stagnant pockets of air or areas with too much vegetation up against each other are prime hotpots for mold. Unfortunately with dense colas you can't really avoid it if the mold starts from the inside... I'm gonna try some home methods to decrease humidity when it comes time so I'll update on that because I definitely can't afford a dehumidifier. Lol Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk

  8. Lets talk how to make easy hash. I will keep it more on the simple side, some decisions you simply have to make yourself, other steps are give and are rather a must. But as none of the steps are rushed, a rather relaxing procedure. First step is getting your grids.. which ones, I leave that selection to yourself, as not in the mood to hear: bought the wrong sizes because of you! I use 2 max.. (Google, decide, you can always reorder), I know people using 4 (i just think is a bit over done, if you consume the stuff and don't want to sell in different qualities. Depending on which "take" i rub, i skip the fine one completely, only use the fine one with take 1. I use a cheap Car massage system and put one side of the grids (rather firm connected) on one of those vibrators, set to max. This is not needed at all, I am just a lazy fag ^^ And you need a hard, very smooth surface below your grid.. mirror/glass works best. Once you have the grids of your choice, next order you have to do is dry ice (www.dryice.co.za, 20kg, R816 + shipping, 3mm pellets) and some clean silicon kitchen gloves or non powdered (like always when you handle weed) medical gloves. The dry ice will last 2-3 days, so order that best to the date you want to use it. When you store it, wrap some additional blankets around and place it beside your air intake for the tent Free CO2 generator. There is no need to put your dry left over into the freezer. You just wait 10 minutes longer with wet material, the dry ice does what it says.. it drys very quick ^^ and no liquid left overs. Material I use are fluff buds and material from dressing the A class buds I want to keep. Those are the GSC fluffies, made no pic of the WoW material i hashed, but looked 1 to 1 the same. GSC gets bubbled. In your bucket with the material you dump some dry ice pellets and shake it in in steps. In a 10 liter bucket I drop around 4 cups of dry ice. The 20kg box you get is HUGE ^^ would guess you can easy do 15 huge trees with that box. I had 5 Wonder Woman total. Used not even one quarter. Once it stops "steaming" the water is gone, mix carefully and check that none of those pellets enter your glove.. or you will end with a freeze burn, dry ice is -80C. When you take a bud out and squeeze it.. it should just crumble to dust.. ready to go. Take a hand full out and rub it firm in between your hands. the dry ice pellets will help you get the material fine. Don't take to much, but you are also in no rush, all will stay super cold. No need to dig in your fingers.. just move it gentle without any down force over the grid, that way your fingers stay warm. What falls through looks more like a fog. Depending how long you work the more you change quality. I work each batch around 60-90 seconds. Keep the material, you can do more than 1 take. First will be super sticky and very easy to form a ball, third to fourth will be more powdery and demanding a heat press to get some potency out. When done, remove the material into a second container and rub on a next batch with your hands till done. The fine grid will have collected 90% of the pollen you filtered out. I add some dry ice pellets to that pollen and let it cool down again. Then use a old credit card to gently move it over the fine grid with as little down force as possible. When you are happy, you put the batches in bags. To work with the fine grid, the lower you get the temperature, the better will be the result. (was take Nr4, so a bit greenish) The left overs from 2 10L containers And the result of the first take You can use a pollen press, your hands (gloves) or leave it in the natural chunk it forms by gravity inside the bag. Depending to that, color will change. But is very soft and very sticky... If you have a phone call and have to leave during a batch is on the grid, add some dry ice and let it cool down, that way you don't mess up your grid. Cleaning the grids, any soft brush will do.. if you cool the grid down with some dry ice, you get it rather clean.. just careful.. very cold things like to break way easier. Freeze burns hurt.. keep that in mind before you get one and don't "rub" down when you work the material.. only slide it gentle over the grid. Rest.. good luck and have fun

  9. Hello everyone, this is my first post here. In fact its my 1st post on any cannabis related forum. Ive been growing for around 8 years. Recently switched to organic and growing indoor. Some advice would be greatly appreciated here. I have always loved Tangie. For the past year i have been going through 10 seeds of Tangie (its not a lot, but i think its still a decent sample) trying to find the best phenotype. Pheno hunting has by far been the most fun ive had growing cannabis. My Skittles pheno has been a huge success. Btw, there is a huge variation between phenotypes in zkittlez. Ive had some very ordinary skittles which basically was just some skunk. But ive found my winner, i can truly tell you that its pure sour grape crushed skittles. Ive also had a skittles plant renamed to turkish delight. The resemblance to chocolate covered turkish delight is uncanny. Back to tangie. Variance between phenos are much less vs zkittles. Most are great. But most have the orange peel aroma. Now this is fine, but tangie was bred and resembles tangerine. Out of the 10 phenos i found 1 true and spectacular Tangie. Think tangerine or naartjie syrup. Sweet, creamy naartjie or clemengold syrup. For some reason i did not manage to make enough clones, and those i made failed to make it out alive for various reasons. So now my only hope is to reveg the mother post harvest. One huge problem is this plant has almost no growth in its bottom 2/3. A tiny bud and leaves, but very little. The plan is to harvest the big top buds and try to keep whats left of the botton 2/3 of each stem, but it wont be much. Any advice on what i can do to keep this mother alive except 18 hours light and veg nutes ?

  10. Thank you for all the replies! The plant is about 5 days from harvest. Huge sticky buds with a mix of purples and yellows in the fan leaves. In short, no I think it's too late into bloom. I will need to harvest those buds, they will just go mouldy if left like this indefinitely. Well, most likely anyway. It's interesting that there's not really much info at all about reveging. I'll definitely document the process here, if it turns out to be a success or not. Even if the plant develops some weird growth patterns, its still okay, I'll make clones from the revegged mother. That is, if she survives.

  11. Yeah, it is actually easier to decide to just cut all / most of the fan leaves off than carefully take a look and see which ones should go. haha When you have a couple of plants, even more so! Lower RH won't be a bad thing, especially for flowering. I've been doing some IPM to make sure I do not get any PM and did a spray for pests before they started flowering so hopefully I am good on that front. Remember that shit weed we vaped? Yeah, don't want that to happen again. I neglected that grow quite badly.

  13. I was thinking about this last night. I considered making some out of a sun-visor for now, like little cone shaped ones to fit around the bulb as is instead of having to cut open the bulb and fix a new reflector to it. I also thought of moving the bulbs to the corners of the fixture instead of along the sides (besides lowering them which I still have to make alterations for). I think it would be better if I replaced the 2 x 28w LED bulbs for 6 more Osram led bulbs and have them along sides as well as in the corners. It would draw 2w less but have a more even coverage. That UFO is putting out way more light than any of those bulbs so it's making this design a bit more complicated. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk

  14. Welcome! Hmm, I have not heard much about revegging a plant after harvest - typically people scrap the plant after harvesting it. I have had one friend try it on his outdoor, he managed to keep it alive but he said it was not the same and did not perform well the next season. How far into flower are you? Could you consider revegging it now to try and save the pheno?

  15. Haha, you and I are in the same boat regarding defoliation. I have also left my current plants with more leaves as well as more bud site, see how it turns out. Doing a defol def seems to help reduce the transpiration the plants do and therefore it does appear to affect the RH, in my experience at least.

  16. PC fans can work pretty well in a smaller area or if you have no other option as an inline fan is too expensive. Find a 12v wallwart power supply and use that, best you have a multimeter handy to check which is positive and which is negative and then just wire it up to the PC fan. You need something to power the LED's, as they require DC power. Meanwell make good quality power supplies / LED drivers (same thing). You do not have to get a Meanwell power supply, there are other companies which also make power supplies, however due to the reliability of Meanwell I feel they have become the standard when one is looking for a power supply for their LED lights. Some of the cheaper ones have a fan and do not output the rated power and can have failures within a year of use - the Meanwell ELG and XLG range have a 3 year warranty I think, I know the HLG has a 7 year warranty... Maybe the ELG has 5 years and XLG 3 years. Regardless its pretty long and considering how often a power supply is on when you growing, it's nice to have the warranty for just incase and for peace of mind. A cheaper power supply will have cheaper parts, the last thing you want is for a cap or another part to blow and become a hazard in your grow area. Also Meanwell have a good efficiency, all of the above mentioned ranges are over 90% efficient, with the HLG being the most efficient - so less power wastage and less heat.

  17. I've tried this... Wire them in parallel to a 12v power adapter with an Amp rating slightly higher than the sum of all the fans you want to run off it. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk

  19. Yea what's uuuuuup! Okay, because it's what you have at the moment, I'm not gonna elaborate on the point of you needing a better light blah blah... You already know this much... I'm going to focus on how best to use the thing. First up... Nice innovation hehe it looks cool enough 2nd up, all those lights have different intensity and usefulness in a veg environment, but for it to be more efficient, you need to create as even canopy of light as you can. Best way to do this is download a basic lux app onto your phone, and test each of the globes at a distance of 30cm. For best results you would like to maintain a constant output over a large area as apposed to high concentration in a small area and little elsewhere. So adjust the lights heights so that you can attain this, you might find you will need to either raise or lower the household LED's Next, you need to be able to adjust the light higher and lower with relitive ease because they will need to be about 30cm above the canopy of your plants at all times.... Seedlings, maybe 45cm if the fitting gets hot in any way. And yea, that's the best advice for your temp light, who knows, maybe it doesn't do a half bad job. 1)nice innovation 2)get the light intensity level as constant as you can across the whole fixture 3)make it easy to adjust regularly
