Small update. GDP is ripening up nicely. Starting to see mostly cloudy trichomes, busy waiting for that amber. I'd like to see half amber trichomes before cutting. Royal Gorilla is still a ways away, plenty of fattening up to do and trichomes are still clear and small. I think I won't ripen the Royal Gorilla as much as the GDP, maybe as soon as I spot a single amber I will cut. GDP RQS2 points

Dusted off the 'ol DSLR and took some vanity shots of the ladies. Also wanted to get a closer look at the colours and trichome development. I like the colour coming from the GDP. The Royal Gorilla still has work to do. GDP RQS2 points

If we're talking about growing cheaply in terms of actual cost to run a grow. I think hydro may be the cheapest. Water is practically free, nutes you barely use any only on a res change or the occasional tip up if the EC is dropping a bit too low. Equipment is typically a once off cost or will last you a good while at least, multiple grows. I feel coco is cheaper than soil due to the price of soil and the fact I can buy 5kg coco bricks and 100L of perlite for next to nothing. I personally wouldn't run a soil grow without providing nutes, I know some do and have seen a few grows on the forum as such although it's just not for me. Nutes for coco and soil are the same, you can get cheap ones and expensive ones. Same goes for hydro. Organic nutes such as Biobizz aren't all that cheap, but not terribly expensive either. You get expensive mineral nutes too. Equipment aside, I feel soil is actually the most expensive growing method and I also feel that'd why there has been so much marketing and buzz behind it. I started with soil and have since moved away from it. No regret from my side. It has its place for sure, although don't be fooled into thinking its cheap. Also when I was not correcting my pH with my organic grows, that is the only time I had nute lockout issues and that was corrected once I started correcting my pH levels. Often soil has amendments to help buffer the pH level but it does not mean you should not still check your feed and pH it. Depending on what nutes you're using with your soil, you'll still need an EC pen. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point

I start trimming even before I harvest. All the remaining fan and large sugar leaves. Then the largest of what's left wet, and ongoing while drying. By the time the bud is dry enough for the jar, the remaining small sugar leaves are very crispy and break off easily.1 point

Depends on your climate. if you are in a very arid area, dry trim. If very humid, you want to remove as much material before you put it to dry, hence wet trim. I wouldn't say one or the other is better.. i use both depending to weather situation.1 point

@DankFiend Strain shopping is exciting. So much variety, really is hard making the decision. I select a breeder and then choose from what's in stock for that breeder ,I bought 2 packs of darkhorse genetics. Savage hulk and Gamma berry. Both are Bruce banner #5 crosses (strawberry diesel). And a pack of a chem 91 cross from DNA. Waiting for them land. I decided that I'm not gonna spin the roulette anymore with all these commercial cannabis seed makers and I'm gonna spend the money buying quality craft genetics. You have top quality equipment and a good set of growing skills... I think you should buy quality genetics too.@Cannabist is who I use now because he's way cheaper then all the SA competition or trying to go direct.1 point
