Just need to give some recognition where it's overdue . I've come across alot of growers who can talk the talk... And just 1 who walks the walk... He's the real OG and the best part is he is humble as fk. Thanks bro for sharing your experience with me and many others... Thank you for liking everyone's content regardless of it being one little stunted plant in a tent to a room full of fire. Guys... How's about a 'like' for @Dank4 points

What's good my dude. In this thread, following that statement I made, we kinda debate it a little. It's certainly not written in stone, have a look at what the other guys said and how we all brought up different points and opinions, from there it's all your own decision. For me, to a certain extent, it's just about a little thing called "biometics" or "biomimicry". Basically mimicing the systems and elements of nature, I don't mean seeds being put in the fridge, but rather the fact that seeds when dropped from the plant does not sprout immediately, they lay dormant in through a cold period (winter time) and only sprout when the heat comes back around (spring time). I've read about fresh seeds, as in straight from the living plant, are less viable than seeds that have been through a cold shock or a dry period, but I read that shit on the internet and I haven't done my own experiments to back those statements as facts, so I don't, but it makes sense to me.3 points

Ive been growing with Swampjuice for a year now and was growing with it in its developmental stages, it is a salt based nutrient feed plain and simple guys, I use mainly in coco/perlite but it ( can ) be used in organic growing as mr.Oolong has stated it hasn't killed the earthworms. As far as my recollection goes @Amir Laity never actually said/stated anywhere that his product is 100% organic or anything close to that merely that it's a salt based regime that works for coco/hydro and your normal garden soil.... In regards to quality of flower, i can honestly say my terps are off the chart, trich productions is greatly enhanced and there is overall more growth in veg stage than before, I was using EHG with all my growing up until @Amir Laity asked if I would be his guinea pig and I haven't gone back to yet. I can't speak as to the chemical composition/makeup of all the different elements that compose and make up Swampjuice but even folk that come visit and have a smoke want to know what's changed in my flowers cause the smell/taste and potency is so wow compared to what I have previously grown with.. Ive done a side by side grow with ehg and Swampjuice back in December ( when my back fooked out )on clones of Inzane in the membrane that I had going back in my tunnel fed with same amount of feed of each product per clone and Swampjuice just outperformed EHG.. The price tag is steep but it's totally worth it I feel personally because I don't follow the tailor made feeding regime that Swampjuice provides but follow what I see my plants telling me and I feed according to that and I'll be honest I'm happy it's no complaints... this is is merely my opinion guys and no bias towards other products, more it's what works for you....3 points

@Naughty.Psychonaut And exactly that is the reason why I go with QBs I don't want to go over all the needed parameters one at the time. On the Quantum Boards I just go for the 3000k 660nm version.. you should get one board for 31$ if you look around on Aliexpress. I went for the H.. because I didn't read up and my inner greed was to big hehehe we can also say.. I shot my own leg.. but at the end I just want to see what is the difference from the V3 boards to the older ones. My goal is still to go solar for my indoor system, so using less energy is something I aim for.2 points

Yeah no touching is key, and funny not many know that. Agree with the moisture and storing in a dark place rules, kept them in a cool place until now but never the fridge so will go that route now. With a humidity pack and sealed container Shot all2 points

The QBs are with UPS (63$).. and more than double as fast as quoted.. I thought they will need 12 days at least.. 5 days ^^ DHL with the drivers was also 5 days, so yes.. they are on time. Just never ever use EMS for shipping right now. Termination over Post Office might be a painful experience.. a bit like usual hehehe I saw the free express shipping on checkout.. I didn't saw or knew it was free. I might want to add.. the China order I contacted the seller. Ordered Friday and when nothing was moving Wednesday. I wrote a friendly contact message.. if not moving by today, refund and I order somewhere else. Got the tracker very short after.. Scheduled Delivery Monday2020/06/082 points

Yee. Although, the GDP is now a week over the breeder's stated flowering time, so I am considering chopping this weekend. I can't see the buds filling up much more than they are right now. Took another pic today of the trichomes. I can spot a few speckles of amber.2 points

Storage has even stricter rules when you handle your seeds.. never touch them with your fingers in the first place. Wear sterile gloves when you handle them in your storage. I have silica packs in my thermos container, but not with the seeds directly. If you live in a dry area.. no need, I have a really close ocean.. we always have moisture in the air. Keep them dry but also don't crisp them ^^ they go 0% moisture inside, they die too.2 points
-
Depending on how sterile the moisture is, it could actually germinate the seeds if humidity is high. And mold and bacteria like moisture so it's best to limit it as much as possible. So silica packs work a peach... And a low stable temperature2 points

Most probably my bad for only reading on after the reply, and had not once heard that being done before, I also did a Google and came out with the advice of method used at seed banks and that was their practice too. All actually makes sense and as you mentioned like they would be in their natural environment, cold till ready to go. I guess everyone is always talking or showing and sharing their grows, not their storage methods, lol.2 points

nope, will get 4 QBs inbound Monday.. the 5 drivers already made it yesterday ^^ already paid customs fees for the QBs hehehe and the parcel just left Kuwait. UPS is on fire at the moment shipping was free.. took a spare ^^ want to run the dimmer over the arduino system.. so the 0-10v version driver fits sweet.2 points

Dope Friends Anyone tried curing there buds this way? Took 30g of a sticky Sativa strain I grew from Lesotho Heights bagseed. Very sweet perfumy aroma. Some say this technique increases potency and trippiness. Let's see. After the wrapping the cobs I vacuum sealed them and placed on my Hid lamp ~43C1 point

Not at all brother, I didn't get to use ehg for that long to have formed a solid opinion before I switched only did 1 grow with a couple plants on ehg.... I kinda look at the Swampjuice price and compare it to say growopz qb's because I know I'm going to be rewarded two-fold in the long run. If I look back now last 2 months blue Kush clones I had outdoor versus the plant I cut them off who was indoors I'd swear they were identical in every aspect of flowers density terps and all and you could easily claim them to have been grown indoors only difference is the clones from outdoor have a seed or two if I was to look for faults... Hope ya have a blessed evening...1 point

@Prom Thanks a ton man, the LM301B's it is then. Any guidance as to what strips to go for? Have been looking at digikey, but even when I put in key words such as "samsung LM301B 3000k strips" it comes up with nothing, when I just use either "samsung" or "LM301B" it comes up with hundereds of things that don't really mean anything to me because it's a bunch of random letters and numbers. If I click on a strip to see the specs I can't find any info on the wattage or the type of diode used on the strips....1 point

LEVELS OF HUMIDITY EFFECTS OF HUMIDITY ON CANNABIS SEEDS 80 - 100 % Seeds drown and wilt after about 12 hours. 40 - 60 % Seeds germinate. 20 - 30 % Advisable to store your seeds. 18 - 20 % Heating may occur, causing your seeds to sweat. 12 - 14 % Over time, this amount of humidity creates a breeding ground for fungi both inside and outside your seeds. 8 - 9% Over time, this humidity level attracts insects and pests.1 point

Thanks, Prom! I get what you're saying, and I largely agree that we should give them the benefit of the doubt. Their website looks legit and they were decent at communicating initially... until the messages stopped going through on their end (only one WhatsApp tick for a week + which is suspect imo). I too would be frantically replying to all orders if I were in their position. I'm in no rush thankfully; got some Hindu Kush and Amnesia Haze autos in the tent currently that will hold me over Hope they get back to me, but if not it's a lesson learned about rushing out to get stuff before doing you research Hoping to get some Bubblelicious in my next order, whenever that may be!!1 point

@Naughty.Psychonaut I like flexible lights too.. that is why I turn each QB into a lamp of its own. I like to hang and distance depending on canape shape There is no real reason to go for the H.. the B have same diodes, just less good environment protection.. the B's will do and are cheaper..1 point

I understand your reasoning, and it makes sense one hundred percent, at first my reaction was that the seed are sealed in a airtight container when you get them, and wondered if when the seeds had been packed, had the humidity been 0%? If for any reason there is moisture in the container with the seed, would that be an issue? Learning here so dont kill me.1 point

@Prom I have looked at those, the only reason I would wana go the DIY route instead of buying a fixed board would be because I can build a frame to my liking and mount the LEDs all the way in the corner of the grow space, where as with a qb you have to raise the light to get better coverage and by raising the light you decrease intensity, or am I mistaken? Another reason would be because of the whole 1 qb just a tad to small for a 1m square and 2 qb would be to much, like you've mentioned. So I would rather build something to my specific needs and the whole project will give some DIY perspective and I seriously need to gain some knowledge on LEDs. @CreX Definitly did help! Thanks man!! I am leaning towards the samsung LM301H diodes for now, but how do I check on digikey which of the strips use those diodes? If I got the strips I'm going with then I can work out how many I need to make 300w and from there I'll be able to calculate how much alu I'll need.1 point

^^ I went with the breeders suggestions.. they are not bad at storing seeds https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/content/36-how-to-preserve-seeds Temperature changes are some of the worst you can do to them... dry humidity, darkness and even temp.. my seed vault is a thermos box in which i have my vacuum storage containers with my little treasures.1 point

@Naughty.Psychonaut, you should be looking for diodes that are in 3000k as a good average for veg and flower. 5500 if you want a separate veg light And still 3000k for flower, so yea just stick with the 3000k spectrum And in a 1x1 area you will need about 300w of LED power for that space if you want to stick to ~30w per square foot So with those to aims Its a bit easier to choose the right strips As for the type of diode, the LM561C are nice, the LMB301b and LMB301h are also saught after... Epistar are also popular but are an older tech... Works well, but older and not as efficient as the Samsung stuff Hope this helps!! I know reputed member @PsyCLownhas a ton of strip knowledge1 point

I saw zero 660nm strips.. you want to solder those in single by hand? Why not just go with a QB? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000215044691.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.1cbe4a61k4VNhD&algo_pvid=2f98c580-9f78-4002-b46d-16aba4d30326&algo_expid=2f98c580-9f78-4002-b46d-16aba4d30326-8&btsid=0ab6f82415913491382852517e1d2f&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_ The 301B 3000k 660nm board is 43.20$, no soldering.. ok, you have to connect a plug to the driver.. but then you also get a 1 year warranty with the product and you just connect a heat sink plate and the hangers.. and you have a lamp ^^ You want more light.. order same again ^^ for 1x1 might be a lot, one QB should run 0.8x0.8. Can tell you more, when I get my QBs on Monday.. I will prepare all right away and let them compete with my TS3000's.. if the QBs should win.. I will replace my TS's right away.. 40% less energy draw is a word I respect. But first I want to see the result for myself.. I am rather skeptical that the new boards are that much better.1 point

Time for an update Not much has happened, as I had major problems with the Blueberry plant I kept all the rest of the girls steady just giving water and kept them all in 10L pots till I could save the Blueberry. I managed and so here we have al 4 girls in their final 20L pots, pulled a scrog net over them and shoved a pallet under them to help with the cold temps at floor level. Trying to save the Blueberry set me back a good three weeks, so they are only on the 6th week of the feeding schedule right now and thinking I'm gona push them till about 9/10 weeks. Wana get some serious strech so I can clear out the under canopy. Other than that, the 5th plant that was also a Blueberry problem plant moved over to intensive care, plus there was never meant to be 5 plants in this space.1 point

Urgh.. forgot to put my feeding water into the room yesterday to let it get the same temp.. ^^ 4 hours later feeding today ^^ rest runs as undisturbed as it can be. Haven't done anything beside feeding them. Day 1 Week 4 Lied! I sprayed them with Serenade yesterday.. like the rest of the room. Also, none in pre yet.. 4ml fish mix per liter. As soon as they go pre i give first time 3ml grow/2ml bloom. They got today 1 liter each.. so I do not bother for the next three days before i check again.1 point

When they grew it was lemon with some sandlewood on some. The one that got chopped early due to nanners is the only one I've smoked so far and that has chocolate terps coming through now. Very good sativa uplifting vibes1 point

Just a little update since the last pictures. The special queen is doing well, the badass og cheese looks a little weird but coming along. The smallest one is a Malawi gold and then a blue dream which will be replanted this coming weekend. I am still vegging them under the LED in the garage but when the sun is out they are outside. I will soon start mainlining the special queen.1 point

Coco really isn't difficult to grow in or work with. A good soil will be forgiving as it has amendments to help buffer the PH and there are nutes in the soil and preferably some microbes which will break down the organic matter and continue producing more nutes etc. With a coco & perlite mix, you cannot over water your plants. If you do coco with fertigation then growth could be quicker than with soil. @Prom yeah, if you can get a quality pen which does it all then go for it. I think I paid like R250 for my PPM pen and then R850 I think for my PH pen, I have an HM Digital one and its' awesome. Certainly get proper storage solution and take car of your pen, rinse it off after taking measurements in high EC solutions etc. etc. I have never considered rain water, so have not looked into it. I have also never considered growing indoors in soil without nutes and if you are using soil inoculations you certainly do want to have a PH pen as that drops the PH quickly! Depending on what nutes you are using, EC / PPM is not needed although something like Hortimix I would recommend it as there isn't a proper chart provided. If the nutes and dosage you are using brings the PH down to the right level, then its easy and quicker - but the process for me has always been the same regardless of whether its for soil or coco. I have never had any loss at all, regardless of my medium. I do not understand how you guys find soil less work than coco... The experience has been about the same for me. Mix nutes, PH and feed to plants. Regardless of whether it is for coco or soil - what has saved me a looot of time is moving over to an automatic watering system as watering by hand is a ball ache and takes quite a lot of time. I now just mix my nutes in a tub, and it gets fed to the plants automatically - takes me around 10 minutes maybe as my tape is a bit slow to fill and I have to put the water into a bucket and then pour it into my res but still lot quicker than when I was watering by hand which would easily take me 45min.1 point

Small update. GDP is ripening up nicely. Starting to see mostly cloudy trichomes, busy waiting for that amber. I'd like to see half amber trichomes before cutting. Royal Gorilla is still a ways away, plenty of fattening up to do and trichomes are still clear and small. I think I won't ripen the Royal Gorilla as much as the GDP, maybe as soon as I spot a single amber I will cut. GDP RQS1 point

I noticed with very phat leaved varieties that defoliation during vegitative mode works well, providing there is enough time to recover before the flip. Sometimes I tend to grow for the aesthetics, nothing quite like looking at those FAT leaves holding a baseball sized nugs The electric watermelon sounds lekker man, and HSO doesn't really breed with crappy genetics. I think you will find some stellar plants, depending what h are looking for. The f1 polyhybrids have been responsible for a lot of the new flavors in the States, sifting through some random crosses will reveal some dankness I'm sure! Sounds cool man, making f2's of the GammaBerry will allow you to do a decent shift through Darkhorses parent stock as well as grandparents used in that line. Exciting stuff, Darkhorse doesn't really play around with any crappy genetics either. Correct me if I have the breeders mixed up on that. If the beans you bought from DH is f2, then the IBL will be the f3 line from his original f2's. You can look at it as your f1 ibl cross on his f2 stock, as you will select males differently to DarkHorse, would technically not be the same as his f3 selection. Your f1 ibl generation will be a parallel line to his f3's, assuming the beans u recieved are f2 ibl. Sound lekker with the krypt, if u keep them all backed up u have quite a lot of options, assuming the mom is going to be a keeper. I would put (in time) the 2 males to pollinate the female, that cross is to increase variety in the genepool. That would be the genepool backup. Then do 1 male to the female at a time, or at the same time if u can keep them separate. This is to get an copy of each of the males on the female, should have less variety, but a bit more stable. Then u have a Krypt breeding project for the next couple of years. I would then shift through those three lines to get a idea of the cross and potentials of the males. I would also gooi the males on strains I already know well, to see what they add on the f1 cross. Holding thumbs for your package from the post office man! Some nice strains you order bro1 point

Greetings everyone. Back with another update; I fed them about half way into their light cycle then proceeded to lollipop and defoliate them. This time it was some proper abuse, lol. I took 4 clones off each tree and stuck them under a humidity dome in my incomplete veg box. Let's see what happens. Here are the before and after shots, as well as some of the clones.1 point
