  2. Hey All, New member here, got this light to replace my old 250W magnetic HPS. I should probably have run only one plant in my space but didn't learn my lesson from previous grow so in the future I'll do that. I may end up put the 250 back in as well due to the cold weather and how cool this light runs. Anyway super chuffed to be moving off the old stuff and will probably add more to my arsenal from the dude I got it from. Super chilled oke on, the ball and only happy to suport him in the future. Basically the only guy to come back to me without a story about no stock till July or some guys just dont come back to you at all, almost like they dont want your business even though their products are priced quite a bit higher.

  3. Looks like a @Master_G LED. Good find I also started off with HPS then moved to a similar LED. I just finished my first grow with an LED all the way through and the temps did get quite chilly right at the end, but the cold certainly did good things for the colour of my flowers. I recently now germinated under bulbs in order to generate some heat due to the cold. You might find yourself switching between the bulbs and LED depending on what season we're in and how hot/cold it is.

  4. Let 'em grow bruh. They probably working on growing their roots. Only mist when you see your medium getting dry. If you mist based on times per day you could accidentally overwater and cause further stunting.

  5. Started the flush yesterday and after taking a few preliminary pics of the Royal Gorilla this morning, I spied a couple amber trichomes and decided I wanted to harvest this evening. I don't want to ripen this strain as much as the GDP as it leans more towards sativa (hence the longer flowering time) so I'd like to keep the amber at a min, but still wanted to at least catch a few just so I know what stage it was at. I will also want to cure it a little longer before really getting into it. Looking at the first pic, it's a wonder I had this next to another plant I got some shades of red on the sugar leaves like in the bottom left. Thought it was quite unique. I definitely got some light burn on some buds which may have also caused a little bit of fox-tailing like in the bottom right. I pretty much did the same training on both of these plants, but the Royal Gorilla came out way way better. Much more of the side shoots reached the height of the main colas and benefited well from the more level canopy. The buds are also so much more chunky, I'd say some at least double in size to the GDP. So while the Royal Gorilla dries, I have already germinated the seeds for the next grow. That's right, we're not pulling out this time. I've doubled up my space with a 240x120x205 tent which I plan on having two 400W HPS in cool tubes, and 4 DWC systems with 1 plant each. So that equals to 2 plants per 400W bulb. This tent can do more plants and more lights but I'm keeping things within my field of knowledge having grown with these HPS before just in a smaller fashion. Which leaves the 80x80x180 tent available once the bud is done drying in it. In this tent I am going to learn how to work with soil and do two plants under the 250W QB LED. If I like how the soil goes, I might go soil in the big tent and double up on the number of plants and use the smaller tent just as a veg tent. I'll probably start diaries for the new plants in each tent when they get bigger and I have more content

  8. I say oh your water and use normal pH up / pH down. Add microbes if you want with something like em pro soil or environoc, take note that it can drop your pH a lot and you may need to pH your feed upwards then. Also add nutes. My 2c Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  9. @SmokeyZero so rhino board was an option, but it weight a ton. Instead i found something epic! Its called Supa Wood, They usually use it for the backing on cupboards. Its sturdy, about 5mm and is white on one side. Super cheap R140 and comes in large sheets. Then Cape Plastics in Cape Town stock plastic sheets for R80. Its thicker than usual plastic sheeting so it holds as a sheet.

  13. I've used soil most my grows, when they say no need to pH for soil, I imagine they mean in the ground and not a pot, and have not pH the first time growing in soil in a pot, and the plant half way through got locked out from pH. When you grow in coco, you need to pH, and if there is any form of coco in the mix of soil, you'll more than likely need to pH, as this is my understanding. Using a correct pH is always best for optimal growth, and you are correct in saying that the pH down is going to mess with your living soil, but not by much, and you even can correct the pH with natural things, like lemon juice and such. Have also heard, correct me if wrong, that using pH up and down in the same mix, is very bad. If you go far down they say you must start again and throw it out. Seems harsh.

  14. This lady was harvested, total dry bud was 128grams. Nice mature cheese smell. This was one of the side branches. I will definitly do another grow with this method, the buckets are sets up and taking nutrients from them every 2 weeks.

  15. Nice, so you finally have another tent going. Pretty decent size too! Keen to see the new thread, question is what seedlings are those? I also see 5 where only 4 are going into the larger tent? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  23. I did the opposite intentionally to get temperature fluctuations in flower to be over 10C+ and got some awesome colours to come out, but I may have stunted growth a bit in hindsight.. lessons

  24. I agree,@Master_G is producing some quality lighting rigs.Even considering getting a few of these, just waiting to see what he comes out with next. Lol. I found that running my light cycle during the night, and dark cycle during the day has stabilised my temps within an 8°C range. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk

  28. What are your Temps like? I would only switch a heater on if the Temps are dipping below 15... And your extraction is proper killing your heating attempts lol. I would maybe try only running the night as the days aren't that bad yet. Also you could try reducing the intake of air a bit to try keep the inside air warmer. Your tent should heat up quick enough if the cold outside air wasn't coming in faster than you can heat it

  29. @Ill_Evan Oeff... Ill have to stick to LEDs for now as this is a recent setup. Thanks for the advice!!
    2 points
  30. Yea! Growth will be booming now that real leaves are out. As for the growth with the LED, the light it emmits will deminish greatly every 30cm away from the plants. So it looks like you have a few plants that need the extra light, but if you were able to lower the light and focus the light over the plants, growth will then start catching up with the sun... The sun is pure power though

  31. Those Sonoff switches are awesome. I'll be setting something similar up in my tent as well. Currently just been using it as a overpowered temp/humidity monitor The extent of insulation where your tent is situated can also be a factor. If a lot of your heat is escaping then an automated solution might end up running 100% anyways. I used to just hang my ducting out an open window but too much heat was escaping my grow room so I built a plywood fitting that went into the gap in the window with a duct flange for my exhaust. Enough heat remains within the room now that I don't need a heater at all at the moment.

  32. What us the size of your tent? I run a panel heater on a sonoff wifi switch with temperature sensor. A panel heater only uses 420w.

  33. Looking good. Are the still under that led flood light? You will see it double in size now every week. If all goes well.

  34. Yes @Ill_Evan, I had heard that about Hydro, and the pH as a buffer. You typically want nothing that will effect your Microbes lives in the soil, and chemical pH adjusters will harm them, though a drop or 2 in 5L isn't going to do much harm, you better off without it. Happy if I have helpedin anyway.

  35. I popped more than I needed because some seeds didn't pop and now I am sitting with more seedlings than I need the 4 seedlings in the net pots will go into their DWCs and the one in the soil as well as another one in the propagator will go into the smaller tent. I am going to be using Freedom Farms Classic. Question, the Freedom Farms site says to pH your water/feed to between 5.5 - 6.0 to maintain the soil pH. While doing my research, a lot of sites say not to pH your water when growing in soil. I only have the phosphoric acid pH down and they say that using it in soil just adds unnecessary chemicals to your medium. Freedom Farms specifically say on their site, "an incremental increase in pH resulting from tap water (pH 7-8.5) use can cause the soil pH to increase above the optimal range for nutrient uptake. The soil pH is therefore not buffered against increasing pH caused by using un-pH’d tap water. Watering with a pH of 5.5-6.0 will ensure the pH of the soil remains in the optimal range of 5.5-6.5." So they definitely want you to pH your water, so is the phosphoric acid ok to use?

  37. Hi all I'm going to put some pics up here of some Durban x Columbian plants that I kept from cuttings of the last round of seed pops. They have just been put to flowering photoperiod this afternoon and should take about 12 weeks to finish. #2 #6 If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer.

  38. Perfect in my opinion, that will feed the soil you using, which feeds the Microbes and they feed the plants roots, Mycoroot is also good to add to that. I've seen some wow that's big heads, and some wow that smells and looks crazy good, but the delivery of it and feeling was very lacking, and most folk are heading back toward building a proper soil ecosystem, than growing in non living mediums and even overseas the market is going more craft cannabis, as there is a something to it others seem to be after, and that's the market speaking. Very interesting actually. A guy I knew grew a batch in coco and a batch in soil, the soil didnt last a day past ready to jar, and it was all taken.

  39. Cool, haven't come across that brand before. Gave them a quick google and found their site. You got the P300's?

  40. The quickest home remedy I've seen to heat things up in a tent is someone placing a halogen bulb or 2 inline with the air intake. I'm not sure how effective this is, but it seems like it may work... It may lower humidity though. I know it's not the norm, but it's the easiest thing if you're really stuck for something. 41. @CreX @Ill_Evan So i have LEDs that have a veg and bloom switch maybe running them both? With the 18/6 cycle (I have autos in my tent atm). Wow okay thank you! I wasnt sure if anything under 20 degrees would be good... But ill sit and adjust that! Unfortunately my timer is the analog timer so its only in 15 min intervals and i know thats a bit too long with no air moving around. Thanks for the advice tho! I think having it go till about 15 would help me a heap load!

  42. @CreX Temps are great if i have the heater tunning, its got a thermostat so turns off at around 28 Degrees C and on at around 20 degrees C, My extraction fan is on the lowest and has created almost no negative pressure which is cool for now as i dont want that heat leaving :( So currently i have my LEDs on a 18/6 cycle, and i have the 6 hours off during the day when its a tad warmer. Should i maybe put my extaction fan on a timer? Perhaps that could help?

  43. That would be perfect. Build a frame mount the heater.

  44. I could upload the combined file.. so here is day 25 to 32 1.15 you see a small move of the pots, went 2-3 cm towards the cam. Is all I did so far on the plants beside feeding them

  47. Problem is, you have to heat at lights out. You’ll be wasting CO2. Gas is also more expensive than electricity. And what about humidity? This a pro idea. If you’re not a pro, don’t even think about DIYing it. If you can find a professionally built system, go for it.But know this: If something goes wrong, you can blow up your house, or asphyxiate everyone in the house. Don’t mess around with this.
