Scrap yards, not the car type, but old fridge repair or service centers, have old or broken possibly? You could also go for a strip of sun visor, cut to size and hanging (hey @Ill_Evan?) I too want to see one cut up That foam rubber is good stuff, it lasts and seals, and cheap enough. Make latches or catching points on the corners or the cupboard doors to pull them toward the frame if you want even better seal.3 points

No worries bro. Yeah. Definitly gona be slow upgrades from here on out. I think at this stage i have enough to get a good grow. Needa work towards that light. Will keep everyone posted. Planning towards the end of July to sprout 1 or 2 of these Autos. Veg in my lovely grow box for about the whole of August. 1 month roughly And then as that sweet September spring hits. Pop my girl/girls outside to flower. Thats the plan. Nutez should arrive by 3rd week in August. But according to everyone. Wont need any for a few weeks anyway. Really excited. Forum is great. And helpfull as possible. Enjoy to humour too. Thanks for letting me in on the community guys.2 points

There you go, that was my last recommendation and those latches are perfect for his needs. Thank you @TheUltimateNoob2 points

I used single sided foam tape to stuck along the edge of the box to seal up the door of my grow box without light leaks getting through and used 2 toggle clamps to pull the door shut. Sorry it I'm off topic, but from what I skimmed through, I think it might help. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk2 points

Nice!.. Interested to see how this goes.Sorry I haven't responded when you mentioned me bro, had a busy week. I find DIY grows a bit more entertaining to read through, there's more figuring out to do with the little tweaks and making do with what you have - it's just awesome. And I agree with@CreX , you don't need to be in a rush to upgrade... You can purchase smaller things here and there to make it easier for you, but IME it's better to save up slowly and buy something worth upgrading to. My first grow box was built out of plywood, covered in foil on the inside, used PC cooling fans for exhaust, and a USB desk fan on the inside for circulation along with some sunvisors for extra reflection vs foil. The day I got a proper light (after using 16 compact cfl bulbs for a while) was amazing. The day I got my tent... Man, that feeling was legendary. What strains are those seeds by the way? Cool, i got some weather strip this morning as well, both 3mm and 5mm. Will play around with it and see what i can do2 points
-
You can double up on the foam for areas where the door curves. So stick down one strip of foam, close door and check for light leaks. Wherever you spot a leak just put some more foam.2 points

Right i got some water bottles near by. Box in the shower cubicle. No wiring exposed. No foil exposure anymore. So no hot spots. We safe . We safe.2 points

Reminds me of when I needed a veg area ASAP, converted a tv stand taking up space in the garage,,, Sun visors work like a charm!2 points

I think I make a little diary of this project. End-middle of week 2.. not much missed, plants growing nice. Gorillas I got from Cannabist and are Royal Queen Seeds. Dropped 10, one did nothing, one was a dud.. so 8 from 10.. not the most glorious number in fresh seeds. I let them run under a Mars 144, running on veg now and draws 179 Watt. Light duration is 24/0 Day 3 day 111 point

Flower Day 15. For now most of my work is done here. Tent filled out corner to corner, did the last hard defoliation, hopefully. They got their last BioNeem and BioPhyta foliage treatments. Top dressed with DE, Tricho, Myco and some Dolomite Lime. Covered the pots to the tops with some more FF premium classic. Giving AACT as often as possible, at least once a week and just 7.0ph water inbetween. Recipe for AACT is FF premium classic, Liquid Vermipure, Molasses, Tricho. (Playing it safe till I get to know the ropes) Here they are pre-defo:(30 June) Post-defo:(6 July)1 point

Tbh, I'm not a fan of "driverless" LEDs. Capacitive droppers generate huge amounts of heat & that's just too inefficient. I got some lights from a guy in plumstead that makes them, busy testing them with my 1st tent grow, so far so good. Only 110w wall draw, so I'll see how it goes. The 100w blurple bar I got from him is still running after 3 years. I might put it in the tent if they need a bit more light. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk1 point

I got pretty much everything from Jamie’s garden shop. The staff are really friendly as well. Highly recommend1 point
-
Just check with the company you order from, that they reduce the price for customs.. Customs are greedy bitches. So rather deserve this. Charged me double the import fees on the LED boards compared to the drivers. I also redesign my drivers. You can't run a single board on a 240H-48 .. makes zero sense as the draw is way to much and the board gets to hot. With 2 boards on a 240 driver, they run as expected and waaaaaay colder. So I get 120H-48B for 2 boards. Then I can run 3 boards and stay below 400 watt consumption. Ordered the 120 watt drivers..1 point

I skipped Day 1 Week 8 as you got Day 7 week 7 ^^ You get 2 pics for Day 4 Week 8 Canape they formed them self Full tent view.. no rocket science anywhere I think about evening the canape a bit more and put something below the pots of the 7 shorter ones1 point

Nice clone setup, mind sharing your misting and temp setup? I'd have on and off success with cloning, recently build a small bucket cloner in the hopes that I wouldnt have to mist to get cloning as I think thats where im going wrong.1 point

Not sure where to get the magnetic seals so will try out the weather strips first1 point

Interveinal chlorosis is usually an iron, zinc or manganese deficiency if not a heat/air/root issue. I would reduce the amount of grow & flower nutes & up the micro a bit Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk1 point

Yes bro I have some spare space blanket. I think I'll use a combination of the foam and space blanket1 point
-
Sorry brother, Been thinking, and from your pictures, you have a reflective sheet, plus the space blanket. Maybe you have spare space blanket to hang inside the cupboard at the doors, like I mentioned the vinyl, and also seal the doors with the foam rubber strips. Then you get the added bonus of reflective surface all over, and also from these pictures, looks like you dont have much meat / surface that overlaps on the door to frame / case for that tape, but just an observation.1 point

@ORGANinc. the chinese shop is 2km away bro. I get alot of shit cheap. I think visors were about R151 point

Is that sommer raw aluminium foil in a cardboard box? Eish brah fire hazard. The foil could cause hot spots and isn't as reflective as we think. I rate you'd do better painting the inside white or using mylar sheets.1 point

And week 7 as promised. Cam position got changed. Placed the cam up on the Fan rack now. If it gets over grown there.. I have bigger issues hehehe And sorry for the skew cam, the plant close to it had other ideas how it should be pointed1 point

My very first harvest1 point

I kinda run out of space ^^ Day 7 Week 7 And I mean the top part hehehe Those Gorillas really enjoy them self without getting disturbed. The End is Near I usually use the tent as my dry tent.. but I think those Gorillas start to prove my point rather well Autos Rock! Hitting 80cm (soil to tip) now.. I think they will reach 100 till harvest. I might have to move the cam to the other side.. Fan and tripod start to collide. Tomorrow I post the week movie..1 point

I add my 10 week BioBizz sheet.. this is the feeding plan I give 10-11 week strains. As plants can't read you always have to use your brain and adapt to the plants current status. grow sheet10.pdf If you check week 7 on the sheet, it states 4 G (Grow), 4 B (Bloom) and 3 T (TopMax). I only gave 2 TopMax as the flowers are just not big enough and the stuff is expensive. I am also rather sure the Gorillas will do 11 weeks (Flush gets replaced with 4/4/4 and a flush week added).. I will late harvest them like all my weed for taste. During Pre-Flower I also swap Fish-Mix and Grow for each feeding and flower i stick to only grow (just for the added molasses in Grow). So again, you have to use your brain what to give when, some plants are faster, some slower. Is a bit why I was reluctant to post the sheet. If you compare it with the BioBizz 12 week table, you will notice the changes I did.. my 8 week sheet is even more aggressive. On the sheet I notice all changes I do. That way I have a easier puzzle solving, if I run into nute issues. If you note the starting Day (Monday for example) and cross each week you are in off, you never feed them the wrong mix. Without my grow sheets I would have a complete mess when I have several strains in the tent. Rest... you can't grow more relaxed and without any effort. I did beside feeding still nothing on the plants directly.. raising the light... that is it1 point

And here are the Gorillas.. middle week 7. I run a bit into space problems with the cam ^^ Day 4 Week 71 point

Dont worry mate, my first 2 attempts failed. I tried heating mats, humidity domes etc and then found what works for me. Putting the seeds in paper towel in a bank bag under my modem. Leave for 72 hours and check, have popped 4 from 4 since. By the way you have some interesting looking lights there, what are the specs if you dont mind me asking.1 point

I am interested in anything tasty right now.. I focus on the US genetics. The Gelato left a bit of a heavy impression. Haven't had anything like it in years. I focus on 42FastBuds for this year, want to see if they are really just THAT outstanding. Sweet Seeds are US too.. so rather eager to check them out. The Bruce Banner from Monster Genetics is nice, hits, smooth and a light fruity, earthy smoke. Same.. not even close to the Gelato, different league. Is hard to explain.. FastBuds call it a Desert Weed.. and that really fits as description.1 point

Procedure is rather simple. The auto gene is recessive but due to its unique character easy to spot. PP, Pp, pP will be photo plants you need pp to be an auto. When you made your cross from the Auto with the Photo, those seeds you put under 24/0 light, the Autos will flower, the photos not. Remove the photos, breed the remaining flowering into seeds and the result must be pure autos. I have regular Ruderalis here on Wednesday ^^ then I start my Swazi Gold Auto and Chocolato Project.1 point

Yo man! I am busy selecting plants to take forward to the next flower round and I have some that won't fit my space. If you're keen then they are yours... I'm also in midrand area. Hit me up with a PM if you're interested1 point

I have 4 diaries on Growdiaries.com .. and got contacted by Sweet Seeds yesterday, if I want to be a seed tester, they like my diaries. I wrote back: I only do autos . Answer: "Then just select autos ;)" Even have some humor. But had a catch, they only send the seeds to my German address, not to SA. Hope that changes when we get legal seeds or a working Post Office . But I made a quick selection, Cream Caramel, Green Poison and Red Mandarine (not fair only 3 from about 25 to choose from ).. 4 seeds each and free shipping American Breeders rock.. never tried Sweet Seeds, looking forward to the tastes of those three. My aunties just have to send it further If they would have send from the US, i would have used my Planetexpress account. Anyone has an idea why they all ship from Spain these days?1 point

Yoh guys. Lots of advise. Need to have a think about it now. Maybe getting some good seeds might be the easiest solution for now. Honestly the lights that i have were just to extend daylight hours in this winter period of ours. Not realy to be used for full on veg. I thought it would make a bit of a difference compared to having just really short days. Indoor grows. Amazing. Would love to do it. But probably not in the next year or so. Space and setup cost for that is what holds me back. Wont be trying that for the next year or so. Ideally i would just love to grow a plant or 2 on the balcony outdoors. In a pot. For now. I think im gona keep these going for abit longer. Fingers crossed. But really apreciate u guys taking the time for the advise. Thanks guys. Anyone feel like donating a clone or 2?1 point

I sort the plants and distribute to each section, QB and TS3.. curious if the QBs can match a TS3 But I should have enough to choose from and make a even distribution of good genetics. If you ask yourself, what is the spray bottle doing there.. I use it to easier feed (Root Juice, BioBizz, 4ml/L) the back rows. The Arena1 point

@CreX if you give em a fair chance, and with your know how of the plants. I will convert you too. Just let them be and have their peace.. don't fiddle or cut anything i only top if absolutely needed in regards to the canape. Even if they don't become huge, the plants just transfer into one huge bud.. very very dense huge bud The Charlotte's Angel is a good example. Was a bit over 30cm tall.1 point
