These auto's just dont want to finish. I was hoping they would finish 2 weeks before the rest. But no such luck. They are on 92/3 days today. I cut some lower branches off the first pic just to let the top ones finish strong.6 points

Thanks for the pictures, Would say they can be put into fabric pots, and they are probably still wet / muddy at the bottom, and will see if you transplanting them tomorrow. Some roots are drowning, at the bottom, and that is surely causing the twisted leaves and the lock out of N as the new growth was yellow and could not absorb the nutrients. Guys will even lift a fabric pot off the floor for proper air flow under, and you need that air and dry out to a degree, they are programmed to seek out water, and if you keep them too wet they dont need to do any work or grow bigger root systems.2 points

Great Idea! I have Ethos Forbidden skittles and Ethos Wedding Cake clones going atm.The wedding cake is a bit sweet for me,but she kicks nicely.I prefer something with a little bit of sour/spice or diesel to cut that sweetness. The f-skittles is around 4 weeks away from harvest, but the clones already have roots. She also smells very sweet Clone transporters (6 pack around R50-60) - https://www.google.com/search?q=clone+transporters2 points

If plants could read, those schedules would make more sense . Run the sheet so you know what week you are in for feeding. Rest, lift them morning and evening and if they are super light, feed them with the dosage set for this week. Wet the pot top to bottom, then back to the daily lifting game.2 points

Just a little update on the Autoflower grow Day 35 for the Sour Diesel Auto - Most recent feed was 16/07/2020. Biobizz bloom and molasses. Day 14 for the Gelato Samba Auto and Cocopopo Auto. - Received tap water on the same day. First feed will be in a week. Just planning to give them some seagrow for their first feed. Next feed is scheduled for 20/07/20202 points

Powdery mildew Pity I missed this thread after i lit the fire, was banging.2 points

@afternoon blazer Keep It Simple Stupid... KISS. You can find strains that are resistant to certain diseases like pm or mold etc. My last grow I got bud rot, so this time I picked a strain that was resistant to mold. So far so good.2 points

I keep an eye... no, two eyes on the grow diaries Air, i would rate you a bit on the low side. Go 8 in 8 out(or add another 6), big tent, i use 2 outs to have a less directed flow from in to out.. comes in at one side, leaves tent other side (one 6 goes out of the room with filter, other goes into another tent, vents the Gorillas right now). 2 40cm ocilating, 2 50cm directionals for general mixing... you might need 6 40 and 4 50 to keep all moving. The better your air moves, the better your plants grow.2 points

Agh, ja bit of both hey single 250W QB in a corner and duel 400W HPS with cool tubes and a 6" exhaust and 4" intake all in a 2.4x1.2x2.05 tent. I swear I'll uniform everything soon2 points

Haha, naah KISS is just a term I've picked up on recently and I've been stuffing it in anywhere I can like a fat kid with cupcakes. An intake filter is something someone considers as a last resort. Problem with powdery mildew? Maybe lessen your humidity first, or increase your air circulation, or even try a PM residence strain etc. Maintaining an intake filter can be hard work, especially if you're uncertain whether it's fully necessary. Also consider whether you are scrubbing the air into the room your tent is situated, or simply just the air going into the tent. If it is the latter, simply unzipping your tent to work on your plants will render your entire intake scrubbing setup useless.2 points

Don't worry comrade, “The South African Post Office now delivers parcels efficiently and without delays with the margins of error reduced to zero percent,” the SAPO said in its latest marketing campaign. /s https://mybroadband.co.za/news/business/322366-sa-post-office-we-deliver-parcels-without-delays-or-problems.html2 points

Ah okay sweet, Nah brother, no need to do small waterings every 2 days, and definitely the fabric pot will be better. My last grow I watered 7 days before I harvested the plant, and when I cut the stem at the base, the soil was still wet at the bottom, and then put that fabric pot outside for a week longer, and it was still wet on the ground when I moved the pot again. You'd be surprised how long it can go between waterings depending on your mix. I'm also thinking your cups sit flush on the tray, and therefore might not be breathing properly top to bottom?2 points

What up 420 Fam. Just a small update to keep the Diary going. So the Banana Monkey i germinated got potted on Sunday Morning(12-07-20). With the seed cracked open. Into the root plug and final pot. Sadly still nothing has broken through the soil. So just gona let it chill out for a while. During the week. I was feeling abit irratated. So i germed another auto. SWEET TOOTH. Tuesday (14-07-20) Seed felt better for some reason. Anyway. Same story shot glass. This time i did 24 hours. Then paper towel and plastic bag for 18 hours. Temps about 28/29 degrees. Awsome 15mm taproot shown this morning and she got potted. Put on a humidity dome. And popped her into the grow box. Lets hope its smooth sailing for now.2 points

A decent pH pen, and using storage solution for the bulb, so that it doesn't dry out, you wont have an issue.1 point

Awe how you brother, Yes okay, maybe cut sections out the sides of the cups next time for air flow to the base for the hole you have made to work better. Spraying in the morning, with an activator (Kelpak or ActiVera) and water combo will make the plants system kick into action quicker and start the perspiration process going. If you feel they are ready for water, water them tomorrow morning, and I'd say those roots are now filling that cups bottom pretty well already and now on a 2 to 3 day schedule. Maybe up pot them and then water them into their new homes instead of watering them in cups again? Fire1 point

Happy that you got it working man! Its my pleasure to help in a small way. Keep us updated with your grow!1 point

Sorry.. Gorillas Only the 6 venting to the inside of the room. This one usually ends in the climate room, i needed a powerful way to vent the rather full tent with the royal gorillas... weed strain. Decided to use the vent from the big tent... plants inside the big still small. Also might add, autos, and dutch genetics. I would count 12--14 replace 1 fem. With that calculation, those are 5 fems looks bigger as it is1 point

@Prom 4 x 600W. Actually they 640W each, I got the upgrade with twin drivers @ 320W each1 point

That's power. You'll have no problems my man. Just watch how quickly them panties dirty up faster than a prozzy on Church Street though.1 point

Because it is usually incredibly cumbersome for the homegrower to even bother with filtering their intake properly to even make use of it. Anyone interested would most likely do a DIY HEPA filter to stand any chance of stopping spores coming into your grow room. If you are experiencing a lot of dust, pollen, mold spores etc in your already indoor environment, maybe consider relocating where you're growing. Keep it simple stupid.1 point

What a ride it's been! Managed to find one decent Aurora Kush pheno from the 8 i popped all those many moons ago. Here's some pics of the harvest coming down bit by bit when it's all done I'll post a grow report 1 last pic before plants started getting the chop chop1 point

Aweh fellow greenfingers, The winter chills are upon us but, grow we will. 1/2. a Clash of Titans..... and local is lekker. Unintended consequence. Proof is in the pudding, some buds drying quitely, sweet skunky bliss. 3-6. Found 2 decidedly different Pineapple express pheno's. One seems more sativa, the other more kush. 7-10. The Fruitpunch queens looking good after their feed and tea. This winter made it awfully difficult for any type of outdoor growing. Pushed some limits and took a few hits, might have found some good stuff for my trouble. But summer is coming.... Keep it green. Cheers1 point

I must have been doing autos wrong the whole time. But I think the true test is still to come. The smoke test.1 point

Had to stake the one auto this week. She is finishing much faster than the others. Not a very strong plant. The other 2 are solid.1 point

SO today these are at about 10 weeks. Autos definately takes longer than the time they indicate in theit sites. I think the one has about 2 weeks left and the others i think will go at least another month.1 point

I read a nice blog on the RQS website this week. It is all about soil mixes for autoflowers. It kind of gives my theory some backing atm. Will post a link when i find it again. My biggest Autoflowers to date.1 point

I agree with you clones would probably have been a better test. I might do it on the next run. But clones also have variations. So the test will be hard with small sample sizes. I think if you do at least 10 pots of each soil you might be able to start drawing conclusions. Then you can eliminate the outliers and draw a good median. Oneday when I have lots of space.1 point
-
So what do you guys think? My conclusion thus far is that nutrient dense soil will make your plants grow faster but this is an ongoing test and we will see what happens at harvest time. This is the first time I am using freedom farms soil and I am super impressed.1 point

2nd June. The freedom farms soil plant over took the plant in my soil. But way further into flower.1 point

And here's through the trellis. This was very near flip date. I lowered the lights down to the lowest areas of the canopy for a boost for a few days, and then raised them to this level.1 point

Have been giving this some thought, how about the prizes go to "best diaries", which the judges can deliberate over scrutinize plants etc, but in saying 420sa is looking for the best diary, gives the incentive for growers to be op it. BTW well done on the previous competitions guys, thought it was pretty cool regardless, and paving the way for SA CannaCulture1 point

Gave these bags a run the past weekend and managed to get 15 grams of some decent hash from about 120 grams of bud. I did two runs with these fullmelt filtration bags and got less yield on the 2nd wash. The bags were easy to use and made from high quality materials. So the pack has 5 bubble bags, 6 in total including the 250um. And below is what I got from each screen in total. 38um - 7.1g 70um - 4.5g 120um - 0.7g 160um - 1g 190um - 3g1 point
