  1. Hey all, You always want to do your last watering as far from harvest as possible, not only will this push the plant to use it reserves but also bring out more flavour and smell, and will have no spare moisture content, this drying better. Try harvest in the dark period, even if you do 48 hours dark, and agree with this method very much. This will be when your lights would normally be off but after your 48 hours off to assure your plants are asleep. Plants when sleeping, will push all starches to the roots, these starches you dont want in your plant when harvesting as they are bitter and just another thing to remove in the drying process if it even all come out. You also dont need to do full 48, as 24 hours is as good, just out of it original for more than a day. Just like grapes or fruits, and a farmer will tell you this too, the more balanced and delicate the climate or schedule, the more delicate the harvest fruits are, or the wine of those grapes, but the best flavor and taste wines, are made from the harsh weather, cold spikes and dry times. Some say there is more THC doing the dark time, but at this stage that is honestly mostly done and its terpenes that are being formed, to make the smell and taste. The dark, and cooler time will help those not burn off from the light. They also kick up more of a stink and stickiness harvested in the cold and dark of night. Respect

  2. Stay away from pig manure buddy. There's a reason a lot of vegetable farmers don't use it. It carries parasites such as Roundworm, has a low nitrogen level. As a rule with manure, no human, dog, cat or any thing that eats meat and shit. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk

  3. Hey brother, All good and you? Nah, dont top an auto, and just train the branchs down so you create an as even canopy as possible. You dont even need to do that, just ask @Prom as he doesn't touch them at all and gets amazing results.

  4. Week 10. Ok, so I have my new light QB75 from @growopz. Can someone please tell me the difference between a quantum bar and a quantum board. I've hung the light and mounted a 9w led tube on the back wall. I was considering chucking in a few of the cfl's but managed to stop myself. Slow down hombre. I know I have to many plants for the light I have and am silently hoping for a few more male's. Everything looks good from the top but still a bit thin on the bottom. Apparently Jack Berry does not have an abundance of leaves, only where the bud's form, but I'll read up more on that. Gotta get that veg cabinet up now.

  5. Been abit busy for updates Things going really well. Doing some defoliating almost on a daily basis. EC-1,6 pH-6,4 These were the 2 cuttings I took a while back and rooted in Rockwool. Both taken from the same mother plant. Incredible to see the growth difference. DWC crushing it’s competition here.

  7. No probs. Some photos finish faster than others and it's a blessing as you don't want all those plants finishing at the same time. We stagger our grows about 30 days apart to lighten up on the trimming. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  8. I believe those use heat, so a big no no! Will ruin your terpenes and you'll end up with garbage. Also you do not want to dry the bud too quickly as it will also ruin the bud and you do not want to over dry it. EDIT: I find drying in a tent works really well, have some fans inside for air circulation (not blowing directly on the bud) and then if you can have a fan connected to a RH sensor so that if the RH is over a specific number then it turns on the fan to lower the RH to ensure your bud does not dry out too quickly and does not sit in a very humid environment which could lead to mold and such.

  9. F#&%ing been there bro. Shite situation. Then had to just say fuck it And start investing on proper shit. Learnt the long way and wasted some bucks along the way. Only thing left on my list at the moment. Is a juicy ass quantum board grow light.(most expensive though) (. . . Maybe a tent . When im ready to expand) Did a full costing for my current grow diary. If u like to check it out. Except the grow light for flowering.

  10. Finally managed to come right with this ez cloner, no misting, no domes. And yes that is a bag of rocks to hold my pump down lol So this is an experiment, a last ditch effort to save my already flowered out plants.Hence why you see buds on those babies.

  11. If it adds heat, then no. Rather get a normal drying rack or hang the branches in your tent.

  13. Heya! Yeeaaa... This plants in its way out... And a recovery will take a veeeeery long time sadly. I can't see the pot... So maybe it needs to be Transplanted... But it's way into flower and a transplant now would only further stunt her. She needs food... She is starving and eating herself just to stay alive. If you have some Epsom salts, that will help... Take a handful of some compost from somewhere and put it on top and water it... That might help, or the same compost and strained through some water... Use the water as a feed... Unless you do have some kind of bottled nute. You can also strip off the dead leaves. They will never come back to life. I would personally toss this one as she might only produce a gram or 2 of bud... And make a note to use larger pots or the ground Don't take my bluntness too hard... Imagine it more of a correcting stick to get you on the right path

  17. Update time... @Dank check it out bro... The exos chillin in some coco here on the east coast... Remember sending me some fresh cuttings straight of the moms. We didn't have high expectations but agreed it was worth a shot seeing as you were already sending me other gear. Well bro... Roots roots roots. So 420sa this is proof that if you want to donate a few cuts to other members you don't need to go thru the whole cloning process and special packaging. A ziplock bag and some wet leaves is all you need.

  18. Week 9. Week 11 will be the present. Okay, everything still looking good but it's like watching paint dry. The plants are finally saying hoesit, I'm a male, get me out of here. At this stage the rabbits each get a plant to munch on and I get more space in the cabinet. By week 11 I have 8 plants from 15 that are female. I'm happy and my wife is harassing me to start the next grow. Welcome back load shedding. Never thought I'd use my 2000kv riot control tazer to grow ganja, man but does it have a powerful light. Whoa, stop the train. I've picked my light up from @growopz. Out come the cfl's and in go the led. Can I go play with the big boys ma?

  20. Going to try and do a better Grow Diary this time and thanks for you guys help with previous one 2 X 150 liter totes, lined with 2cm LECA on the bottom and side, old trampoline side netting to separate the soil from the LECA to maybe help with the some root pruning [emoji2369]. Soil - Freedom Farms Custom Craft Soil from previous grow, amendments added - FF Probiotics, ground Barley, FF Fish Hydrolysate, Kelp Powder, soil was tilled a little and a 10cm layer of new soil was added on top. Waited a week so soil can settle and do their thing. Plants- 6 OKC clones in one tote, then I wanted 2 weeks and put 1 GSC and 1 Saffhire OG in the other tote. Gave them a Moong Bean Tea and some Living Soil Medium Organo Mineral Fertilizer, when needed ph 5,7 water Lights - QB 740w from@growopz HOPE YOU ENJOY THE GROW WITH ME [emoji322] Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk

  21. @GGG is hopefully selling me his 2.4 x 2.4 so I can add more fans and give the plants more space. Might even look better on the next run. But I doubt it. Trying some new genetics in the next one.

  23. It looks like bulk seeds repacked. Where are you based? We need to start groups all over the country trading clones. If you have a great phno share it with people in your area. You never know it may evem make it back to you in 2 years time. We have gotten a nice group going in CT. We are swopping out and giving away great genetics so that we share everything. It is selfish keeping great stuff to yourself. Personal gain is over rated.

  25. That will be from 12/12 Indica is 8 to 10 mostly Sativa is 10 to 13 mostly or more Cross are which ever is more dominant, so you'll see accordingly with the stretch they say, what the strain is more dominant, and if they say 8 to 10 weeks, it's an indica dominant strain.

  30. I've been doing this with the bag seed of indoor I've bought over the years. My analogy to this is, bare with me You have 2 dogs in your yard, they are totally different dogs, one big one small, and they mate, you might get lucky, but you'll likely have a dog with issues. Or even better, the neighbors donkey got hold of your dog while it was nextdoor and you get something that is broken. I've done my head in battling to figure out what has been wrong on a plant, same mother as the rest of them, but it didnt enjoy the mix and was essentially a waste of time for me, and frustrating thinking I'm doing something wrong, when I wasn't. That is the worst.

  31. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with this breeder, but like sticky said above, the breeder will usually state what to expect with regards to size and stretch.

  32. I agree with @CreX and now @Totemic too You dont want to go through all that trouble and time, and then it wasn't as expected. I'd rather invest the few rands now, and reap all the rewards later.

  33. Sad reality...after a short time trying to work with local genetics, I gave up, and started importing genetics to work with.
    2 points
  34. Local seed stock in SA is unfortunately miles below what the okes in USA and EU are doing. So even if it is the best of the best local genetics.... It is unliky to rival some simple imported strains. But if you can get a lineage of the seed then we could give you more advice

  35. It's like the guys here like @CreX and @Promand many others will tell you, There is so much we can tell you and that we know, but to get it all out on one post or text, is so hard and there is more often than not, times when I sit afterwards wishing I had said this or that to explain or help make sense of why I say what I say and the meaning of it. Though, I'm always around and here to help, and will guide as best we can.

  36. Of course yes, you cant play with C19. With me in the Eastern Cape, it wasn't an option unfortunately anyway... I was just expressing how much I'd enjoy being able to help, and really love being able to assist others.

  37. Howsit, yes, there is Ethos Wedding cake,Forbizzen skittles and I also have Sweet Insanity flowering outside, will take some clones this week after I fit my old bar with lights as a 2nd clone/mom/veg space. Currently flowering Fskittles in my tent so have to create a ghetto grow area to get them beans popped

  38. Hard to say, lots of variables. Around a week though is what I generally end up with, some buds are a little wet and some a little drier. I pop them into a jar with boveda and if the rh is too high I leave the jar lid open for a while to help dry it out a bit more. Gotta monitor the ambient rh too though. 40. @ShamelessAtom if I were in your situation and low on budget for the grow, I would go and look for some quality soil somewhere and get some 20L pots (or repurpose those reusable bags from Pick n Pay, Woolworths etc. These bags: https://averda.co.za/news/pick-n-pay-launches-reusable-shopping-bags/ Fill it with some quality soil (depending on where you live, this may be the hardest part) and then get some plants growing in the bags, keep watering them and then manually flip them to flower by taking them inside every day and then putting them outside again. I'd let the plants veg for around 6 to 8 weeks before flipping to flower to ensure they get to a decent size. It will be a lot of work, but you should get alright results and a harvest within the next 5 or so months. So be able to harvest roughly early next year. As your budget increases, invest in some quality soil or start making some of your own soil now! Having quality soil will be your best bet to a good ourdoor grow. Once you have good soil, then plant at the right time for outdoor - in your ground and you can get some massive plants if the timing is done right and you look after them properly.

  41. Hmm, bit of a catch 22 you have going on there. Need to get good bud to stop buying bud, although at the same time do not have to money to spend on stuff to grow good bud as you are spending it on buying bud. You can do things cheaply, but it takes time. Or you can spend a bit of money and get better results quicker. You need to provide your plants with the basics - nutrients, water and lighting. Water is easy to do, lighting can be the sun, nutrients can come from the soil and/or powder or liquid fertiziliers and amendments. Until you get things dialed in, the stuff you're growing will continue to be problematic. Growing takes time, the more time you waste the longer until you get a decent harvest. Since you are growing outdoors, we are going into Spring so unless you have plants which are finishing up in terms of flowering - you're going to only be able to harvest next year April / May as they will be getting too many hours of light to go into flower. Growing out seeds at the moment, your plants will not have a chance to flower and mature properly before being harvested. You can force the plants into flower, but you'd then need to take them indoors everyday and keep them in complete darkness for 12 hours, then put them outside everyday for 12 hours of light. It's going to be a constant mission of taking the plant(s) inside and outside to ensure they do not get more than 12 hours of light.

  42. Hey Bud So its a water pump that shoots water up through misting nozzle, wetting the stems.I got a few from Hydroponic.coza for R10 each. I go from water to coco with no issue, but thats because im using the same chemical nutes in both setups , so reduces shock. If you are going from water to soil, then yes I think its a small shock for the plant. *Becareful of anything that pumps air into water - that raises the ph of the water. This is where I went wrong with my setup because I set and forget and never monitored ph.

  43. @CreX I rol 20 joints everyday for the last 6 months we are heavy stoners so its been a very costly game... I want all the money we spending on kush to start funding my plants...but for now I cant cuz my bud aint good enough yet

  44. Not sure how EZ it is... Looks like a bubble cloner, but with a pump, that means it sprays water all over the stems? Works very well... I just have an issue with the transplant period... Going from hydro to soil does work... But not well at all. Even though my rooting success is near 100% with a bubble cloner, the transplant phase always sets me so far back... So iv moved to jiffies and easy cloner plugs... And a dome lol... God I hate domes... But they help

  45. No problem! We have all been there. But once the cycle is going, the money you used on already grown produce can be redirected to bettering your next grows! Im not sure what you guys as a family budget on green, but I remember easily paying a grand a month for my fix... And now I don't have to... Hopefully ever again

I am literally still running a full DIY setup for veg with a clicks desk clip fan, a flood light, a bathroom extractor fan and a cabinet I built one busy morning. Anyway, awesome thread you got going here, your plants look like they appreciate all that you do for them!

  50. As for your farm animals manure. I know chicken poop is great stuff in low quantities. But pig poop I don't think is good due to the animal being omnivorous and has bad bacteria or something... But I stand to be corrected on the pig poop. Your compost pile will need to be built correctly as well, right number of greens, right number of browns and carefully dosed with ammendments, left to cook for a few months before it can be used in the garden. I would do yourself a flavour and check out some composting guides on Google for as much info you could need, and being on a farm you should have most of the components already, they just need to be put in the right order. Note - I would rather go for the biobizz range or an organic liquid fert like nitrisol or seagrow... Preferably the biobizz though... That shits great @SkunkPharm
