  2. Seedlings can bend like that if their roots are to shallow following a transplant. Wind or weight of water can bend them too. Don't spray them with water, the weight of the water on the leaves bends them over. Rather pour in a 15cm ring around the seedling to stimulate the roots to go ''look'' for water. Have had a few like that but they recovered without ill effect. If you want- you can gently straighten the stem and ''build'' a cone around the stem to keep it upright/supported. (don't snap the stem!!) The leaves will be crooked, but will eventually straighten as it follows the sun/light. Up to you. Cheers Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  3. Ja pretty much. Listened to a pod cast where they had clakamascoot on and he was taking these nutrient companies appart. Giving cheap alternatives to expensive nutrient lines. I guess the older you get the less your care about what you say. Would love to get neem meal in this country so that I could try his soil mix.

  4. So I think a good idea to start a new separate thread and not spam your sale thread @Delicious So the PAX 3 I used was quite nice, the one thing I did notice is that it did seem a bit stronger / more powerful than what I am use to and from what I recall. Like even at the same temp as the vape I currently use, the experience was very different. A lot more vapor and it was hotter / harsher. At the time I thought maybe my cheapy is not that accurate with temp control, but perhaps its more the difference of conduction vs convection. I do not smoke joints or bong, only vape and on occasion hit a dab (need to purge my stuff before I start dabbing again though). Flavour is very important to me, along with ease of use and battery life. Mostly the GF and I who share the vape and use it when at home. I have used @Ill_Evan Arizer ArGo which is pretty awesome, I love the fact that it uses 18650 batteries - easy to swap out and get replacements for. However there is no option to use dab with it, not sure I'd even use dab with it all that often but a nice to have feature. Also portability, its larger than the PAX but I think majority of other decent vapes will be larger than a PAX. If conduction is not the best for flavour and needs to have a tightly packed bowl, perhaps its not the ideal vape for me afterall. Perhaps i should look for something which uses convection instead - my current one is convection.

  9. Hi everyone, yesterday evening I was thinking about how I can improve my outdoor grow. Let me quickly explain how I got to my idea. I do germinate my seeds according to the moon. I checked and saw that fullmoon this year will be either on 1st of October or 31st of October if i remember correctly. Now germinating on the 1st of October is a bit of a gamble when it comes to night temps in the Western Cape. Last year I germinated in the end of September and we had quite a few nights that were around 10 degrees celsius, which can slow down growth. I grow a combination of Autoflowers and photoperiod plants so I am especially worried about the Autos as the do not forgive any mistake. I had decent results after all, but I think it might have been better to just wait a month for higher night temperatures... However I know it will be tough for me to wait for the 31st of october this year. I just want to plant asap because I am addicated to growing ! This is why I tried to come up with a solution. I think the most important thing is to keep the temperature around the roots around 20 degrees at night (correct me if you feel I am wrong here). Ok so now this is my idea. I thought of using an aquarium heater in a water reservoir to keep the water around 20 degrees. A pump will pump water trough some tubing which will go directly through the soil in my fabric pots and will then be diverted back into the waterreservoir. So basically the heated water will circulate and keep the temperature around the roots at a nice temperature. I googled a bit and found a company that already did some research on this and it looks quite promising. Below you'll find a link if you're interested (it's going to be a PDF File). http://rootssat.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Roots-Heating-Cooling-Cannabis-FINAL.pdf I will also add a little drawing I made soon for better understanding. What do you think about this? Is it nonsense? Have you tried doing something like that already? Thanks a lot for your input.

  10. Neem meal is not harmfull to soil microbes. Who would you believe? Someone who has been mixing it into his soil for 40 years and growing the dankest shit or some internet troll. Clakamascoot has been growing the same strain basically all his growing life.
    3 points
  11. If you wanted to insulate your outdoor pots, I wouldn't use the aquarium heater for that... I mean... Your idea is sound and should work... But it's not necessary for outdoor. I would rather make a foam barrier for your outdoor pots. You using fabric pots or plastic currently? This will be easier with plastic pots. Anyways, what you do is build a cardboard frame around the pot, leaving about 5cm on each side. Then you put your pot in a plastic bag so that the pot fits snug in the bag, then back into the box frame you made. Then get a tube of expands foam from builders, I think they have a range that's like 125 for 700ml. Spray that in between your gap and let it set. Bobs your Aunty and fannys your aunt, you have a cooler box for your pots to retain heat way better. I would do this over the pump and heater

  16. I don't ever use my ArGo anymore. My Da Buddha Vape is simply too mighty and its dutifully next to be at my desk. The ArGo would be used much more for festivals or concerts due to it's covert nature. Remember concerts? I remember concerts.. If I were to buy another vape I'd probably try out the Lotus Vaporizer. I like the look of it, it does both herb and concentrates, and doesn't use batteries but gives you the vape experience. https://vapestore.co.za/lotus-vaporizer A great website where I initially found my information about vaporizers can be found here: https://www.sneakypetestore.com/blogs/vaporizer-reviews-user-guides/2018-vape-awards-www-sneakypetestore-com-vaporizer-review-videos This was the video I watched that got me to buy the Arizer ArGo. They also review and test pretty much all the vaporizers that come out.

  17. Hey howzit guys Finally got some action and things are starting to smell Finishing week 6 going into week 7. Passing the halfway mark. I got my baby a new home. Previous space was too cold and higher risk of pests chowing her so I went and got a grow cab and modified it slightly. Hooked up some cheap fans to circulate and extract air and she seems happy. Otherwise, not much happened during the last few weeks. Still feeding just pH balanced water and keeping up the 18/6 light schedule. I'm seeing new growth looking normal and older leaves showing signs of deficiency or maybe light burn? Will start feeding nutes soon. Have to get by with EHG nutes in pH balanced water according to lockdown budget. Shoutout to@Master_G your lights are fire bro!! Really efficient. Real quality material Below are some recent pics... please feel free to comment or question. Any advice welcome Peace .

I received the plant as it was flipped and I had my plant flower for about 9 weeks or so under what was said to be a 300watt full spectrum LED and I ended up with 10g of airy bud. @growopz is the way to go.

We have to be open to new things or views and challenge ourselves every day too, how else do we essentially grow, pun intended. Coot was disliked at first, and all those who disagreed, now follow closely, it's all how you want to grow, or can, and what works for you, in your environment.

  30. Hi bro, the photos have plenty of time to recover and are generally more forgiving when it comes to grower mistakes. When an Autoflower gets stunted you'll possibly end up with very little yield. Yes, it's possible that autos are not as sensitive to lower temperatures due to the ruderalis genetics, but in general the rule of thumb is to try and not go lower than 15 degrees Celsius. Last season I grew them during coolish night temperatures and it went well. What I try to do this season is to fine tune my grow as much as possible.

  34. @GGGThanks for the informative info above. Based on the advice given in the thread by other members, I started supplementing with microbes and also dropped my watering PH. I have been using Microlife to adjust my ph as I discovered it's very acidic and a few ml's/l seems to do the trick. After persisting with the microbial consortiums and the lower ph, the plants bounced back and made a full recovery. I have since then starting mixing my own ammended coco using a version of @Totemic recipe that I found on the forum. I noticed that I suffer from COWS(chronic over watering syndrome) and that traditional soils held moisture too long for the manner in which I was fertigating. I don't think I will ever consider procuring store bought soil again, as it has made a tremendous difference for my application. I now run a ph of 6.5-6.8 and I have moved away from using Biobizz for the veg cycle and instead I use a type of compost tea/extraction that I have experimented with and it works great. On the soil front I use the following : The mix is per 15l pot so adjust if necessary for ur applications: 15l 90/10 coco perlite 15 tablespoons medium perlite 8 tablespoons vermiculite 8 tablespoons of worm castings 6 tablespoons of turbo grow rock dust 4 tablespoons of powdered kelp meal 2 tablespoons of kelp flakes 2 tablespoons of bokashi 1 teaspoon of Epsom salts 2 tablespoons of Bio Ocean pelletised fertilizer I do not add any lime or gypsum to buffer the medium, and results have been great so far. For the compost extraction/leachate I use the following : 7l dechlorinated water 2 tablespoons earthworm castings 2 tablespoons bokashi 2 tablespoons Bio Ocean fertilizer 1 tablespoons Gromor Accelerator fertilizer 1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses 10ml EmPro soil microbes After 24hrs I have a good layer of foam on the surface and my ppm is around 1000ppm. Ph comes in a little high at around 7.2. I know some growers don't consider ph crucial when growing organically but I add a little Microlife to bring it down to around 6.7-6.8. Not sure if this helps, but it has been working great for me so far and I thought I would share it for anyone else who wants to give it a shot.

  35. Hey Psy Unfortunately I haven't used a Pax before :/ This is a summary of what I know though: A solid conduction vaporiser, although frowned upon by some (because some see Pax as the Apple of the vaporiser world). The benefits of a conduction vape are that if you're coming from smoking, the transition can be somewhat easier. The Arizer vapes, for example, are convection vapes and can sometimes be a bit of a let down for those who are trying out a vape for the first time. Especially for those who smoke regularly and are used to that harsher feel on the throat. I've found that the Arizer vapes have more of a subtle feel when you're using them. Don't get me wrong they'll still get you HIGH AS FUCK, but some people prefer that harsher throat feel. With conduction, you lose out on a flavour, and you have to pack it down so that it can function at it's full potential (and that's why a lot of people tend to recommend the half-pack lids, because for a vape it can be a bit of a bud hog). But, you get big clouds. The convection vapes you don't need to pack them; literally just suck up some bud like you're using a straw, and you're good to go. But the benefits of Pax is that you shouldn't have any problems with parts or accessories (especially for us Saffers), so that's always something to keep in mind. I can't speak on behalf of the battery life. I have also heard that it can start to get a bit smelly. So, if that matters to you, then you might want to consider how often you'll be willing to clean it out properly. The Pax is probably the most discreet vape you can find (that I can think of at the moment anyway). But if you're looking for something similar.... you could also look at the Arizer Argo, Boundless CF/CFX/Tera (although the CFX and Tera are a bit on the large side, but make up for it in terms of battery life), or maybe one of the DaVinci vapes. If you're on a budget though, I really can't recommend the Dynavap enough. The M goes for about...R1500 at the moment? And yeah the torch thing (USE A BLOW TORCH LIGHTER) can be a bit of a bitch at times, but it really does perform rather phenomenally for what it is. You can go from huge bong size hits, to light tasty ones. It also uses fuck all bud, which is always a plus. But I wouldn't use it in a group session (unless it's only 2 people). I think this is probably the most relevant point though. You enjoyed using the Pax. So, you can't go wrong basically. BUT! Variety is the spice of life. Maybe something different that you haven't tried before would be even better? I dunna... Just a thought. Anyway, hope this helps. Apologies for the essay, I got carried away again. TL;DR: Figure out how you're going to be using your vape. Is it going to only be you? Are you going to be smoking at home, or more when you're out and about? Does flavour and saving bud matter to you? Is battery life something you need to take into consideration? Will it be used with a water pipe? EDIT: Should maybe look at starting a general vape thread EDIT 2: New thread here for anyone interested:

  36. I actually thought that same thing, and my mate asked them to take it the plastic, remove the seal, plug it in, and it was as I said. You can see the difference between the 4k and 3k and then the clear and black LEDs are the UV and IR, I wouldn't joke with you brother.

  37. Hey brother, I just see problems, those plants are not happy, they dont like that light and you should sell it to me Haha, only playing. They look amazing, and if I am correct to say you are just right as you are, dont cut anything other than lower branches that dont get light much, they steal from the big buds production and right now, you need to LST the branchs under, in and out that netting. Keep the canopy as even as possible without snapping branches, Your grow is spot on man Added, I also pre flower pistols, age is perfect for flip the weekend

  39. Welcome to the growers club! I am also relatively new and had some last minute lack luster attempts outside before the weather changed. One of the biggest things I have learnt so far, is that yes you can get lucky without the right stuff, but having the right stuff makes it a lot easier. Things like the right soil and pots and a good idea of how this all works will get you a long way already. I would start by searching the forum and hitting up a couple google searches. That will get all the basics down as there are many sites that offer grow guides. Most of the basic stuff is easy to learn and there is plenty of reading and I’m sure even more people willing to help here. For me, I decided to go organic, get good soil, organic nutes and keep things simple. But there’s all sorts you can do. I had some stunted plants in the beginning and it really just taught me a lot.

  41. Nice to see others vaping as well. Do you have any experience with a PAX 3 for interest sake? Curious to see how it compares to some of the others you have. Small, portable and versatile - big appeal for me. I believe it works well, a friend has one and I quite enjoyed the limited time I spent with it. Currently using a cheap chinese vape, but it gets the job done until I can justify spending the money on another vape which does the same as my current one - gets me high. My vapor genie has been retired as using a lighter is such a mission and I feel it would be a similar thing with the Dynavap.

  46. @Zen021 So firstly with an auto it will start to flower based in time, you need to baby them to ensure you get the best out of them. Any mistakes and it will be felt in your harvest. So too late to fix it now unfortunately. If they were "normal" seed, also called photoperiod seeds then a plan could possibly be made. As you have control over when the plant goes into flower. Also the more sun / light, the better. So if you're not growing indoors with proper lights then make sure you're plants are outside getting direct sunlight. As much as possible. I don't see why you'd want much river sand in your soil mix. Also 5L is a bit small, once again with autos anything which can stunt them is typically not a good idea. Repotting into a large pot can stunt a plant and for this reason a lot of people who grow autos like to start them in their final pot (I like to use 20L pots, even for autos). Grow shops are selling, all ecommerce is allowed now so you shouldn't have any issue purchasing equipment. If you feel you could do with some advice and guidance on what equipment is needed and what's a good deal and recommend etc. Then start a new thread and I'm sure you'll have many members helping you out. 48. My current grow is using 19.1 kw/units per 24h. I'm running 1000w(600w + 400w) lights in my flower tent and a 200w light in my veg tent. The fans are pulling 88w. You need to work out consumption in order to work out cost so the best thing to do is break your grow down to each piece of equipment that is using electricity and work from there: I'm gonna use my grow as an example here: Firstly it really helps to measure what each device is actually pulling and not go by the indicated wattage for the device i.e. a 600w HPS may use a little more than 600w, especially with magnetic ballasts. My 600W HPS and 400W HPS are collectively pulling a total of 1115w and not 1000W. If you have a prepaid meter it should be able to tell you the wattage being used in the house. An easy way to measure each devices true wattage is to have the device off, check the current wattage use in the house in the meter and note the amount, then turn the device on, note usage and work out the difference. Here's how to work out total consumption: The formula is : Device wattage X time(hours) device is on Flowering Lights: 1115w x 12 = 13 380 Veg Light: 200w x 18 = 3600 Fans(2 extractor fans and 2 oscillating Fans): 88w x 24 = 2112 We then add these totals together: 13 380 + 3600 + 2112 = 19 092 So that gives me 19 092 watts which is the total number of watts my grow uses every 24 hours. Or 19.1 kilowatts, or 19.1 units... whichever way you wanna look at it. To work out cost Formula: Total daily usage X Price per unit(kilowatt hour) Daily cost: 19.1 x R2.44 = R46.60 Monthly cost: 46.60 x 30 = R1398-00 Hope this helps
