9 weeks tomorrow. I realised that I mixed up my clones. Harvested a branch of what I thought was OKC.and realized when trimmimg it that it was infact OG kush. But every thing looks amazing. New plants in the tent today are.the Ghost Train Haze from Rare dankness and Blunicorn from In House Genetics. The large one is the sluricane. Last pic is the Rasberry Diesel. It is probably the most surprising of all the plants. I did not expect it tosmell this way.

@Master_Gis right though... You have signs of magnesium deficiency. I would add some magnesium sulphate to your next feed. Epsom salts is the stuff you need Buy a box from pnp for like 20 bucks... And give some to her... It's pretty hard to over do it. But I would go in at a level teaspoon and see the difference. Repeat this once a week for 2 weeks and then monitor from there.

Increasing the size of the herd will get you results. Biodyne, explogrow, other microbe innoculants will do this. Feed that microherd mollasses and other sugars and carbohydrates(teas) to keep them pumping in overdrive. The plant is not necessarily going to uptake more than it needs though.

Grew this plant in ff craft soil. Only fed malted barley teas and biobizz bloom twice. Also some microbed. Nothing wrong with the soil. Never pHed the water once. ..

These pair are my current grow and seed project. On the left we have a male sour blueberry x grape stomper. A little mix up of HSO and Gage Green's offerings. On the right is a blue cheese, she is just begining to pre-flower and has been outside for the last 5/6 weeks. Malted barley and dry fert top dressing. Water straight put the tap inbetween the rains. I am new to gardening with malted barley too. in my limited experience I've mixed it in with the other soil ingredients before planting, put a load into my worm bin and have tried top dressing (50 ml) just like you suggested. @greenkushThat plant looks great!!! Nice I grew for many years using synth nutes and coco on a drain to waste program. Once dialed in, it's where I grew my biggest and most potent bud to date. Nothing wrong with synth nutes and results are great if used correctly with the right parameters and technique in place. After watching a few YouTube videos and seeing what some of the more organically experienced members on the forum where doing, I decided to give it a try at the beginning of the year. It's been a very educational and informative transition, as I've learnt so much more than just growing dank. Still honing my skills in with regards to this growing style, so I'll reserve my opinion on which I prefer until I have accumulated more experience.

@SkunkPharmYour plant looks great and ur results speak for themselves. I have also had good success with the soil in the past but the last batch was problematic for me. Below is a pic of my GDP that was grown in FF soil but I BOMBED it with biobizz @BurlyTry not over water the plants either and let them dry in between waterings. Sometimes over watering can manifest itself as a lockout. Hope they bounce back and grow some fat kolas.

Howzit going brother! I wouldn't ph the water you use for either, rather let the water sit for 24h and it will balance itself as the unwanted chemicals evaporate. I have not had any experience with either product, but I recommend less is more.

Hey bud, If you maybe seeing some tips burning, could be that the nutrient is getting locked out. skip a couple of feeds and just give them Ph'd water (water that's sitting for 24h). Seen lockout occur when leaves claw, until they cant anymore and burn upwards. Not sure what the regiment is like, so ya just some input.

I know what you mean, they actually do include different spectrum leds. I got this cheapie led bulbs from China as well. They have Blue, Red, White, UV and IR diodes as well. Update: 31st July 2020: So today is the start of week 5. So the girl growing well. Taking well to the LST I have been doing for the last week. Really moving along great, and is making great progress since the over water issue experienced. Any advice at this stage of the growth? Not sure if i need to start clearing the small leafs below at the bottom of the plant or getting rid of the leaves that was effected by the over watering.

I assume they are outside then, nothing hiding underneath the leaves? From the quick google search I did earlier, it seems vegol works when sprayed onto the insect. Not sure just spraying the plant will stop the pests.

Morning all. I tested the PH of my tap water. Jozi. Straight out the tap. Pic 1. 24 hour standing water. Pic 2. 24 hour standing water with a dash of lemon juice. Pic 3 Just some info from a test last night. If it helps.

The chart on the bottle works pretty well, at least for coco. I am sure it would be the same for soil though. If you're about to flip to flower, then possibly use the pre-flower chart and once the stretch has stopped then go to the flowering chart dosages.

My understanding that water straight out of the tap works but can be counter-productive for the beneficial micro-organisms in the soil and phylloshere. If you relying on them to feed your plant, then you gotta think about it. If you are feeding you plant with synthetic nutes, then it doesn't matter. However, I've been wrong before. and Ill be wrong again, I suppose its all part of learning.

I use biobizz so can't comment on the GHE range. However you can normally find feeding charts supplied by the manufacturer.

I did spray mine with Pyrol twice, but also adjusted PH which was out. I was not letting enough nutrient run off after feeding and I think it created nutrient lockout which came out in the form of funny looking leaves as in my pics. I flushed with 5l of PH'd Florakleen in each plant and then waited until the next feed, and fed them a weak nutrient solution of PH 6.0. They are both looking really healthy now. I've just pruned them over the last 2 nights, readying them for the 12-12 flip on the weekend. I cam across no signs of any pests. I am 99% sure my issue was PH and not thrips, otherwise all my other plants would've had it as well, and I would have seen some insects in my grow room. Good luck

Week 13. 4th week of 12/12. Everything seems to have settled down now. I've stopped taking my plants out for their daily vitamin D under the sun rays. I think that was my leaf problems. Warm in the sun but there was still an icy chill in the breeze. One week under the light and they are looking much better bar a few small leaves at the base of the plants which I'm putting down to the light not reaching them. Busy germinating Durban Poison and Elvis at the moment using the paper towel method but it seems to be taking a long time compared to when I just popped them into seedling trays with soil so I've popped more into soil at the back of the cabinet. Ye I'm thinking the time is nigh. Pretty much mostly cloudy, ..ambers coming on strong. It's tough to tell tho, what with ambers being so prevalent on leaves.

I must say it was pretty weird to see the soil for the first time, not what I expected in looks, to me it looks more like coco. But yeah my plants did really well and easy in the first few weeks I don’t know what happened now but most of my plants are dropping I think it’s PH and I bought microbs and molasses today to add to my Biobizz feed. Wish me and the girls luck.

Its a good soil. But think they can add a bit more to the soil. Now they add just enough for you to have to feed something.

She really is looking good, those lights and gardener must be doing something right I was just wondering if you were going to do some LST to get more bud sites out that lady. It’s a pretty simple process of bending back the top coles and making light available to the lower branches. We could all give our take on the process, it’s just one of those many things each grower might and do do differently but really increases plant health and healed. It might be a tad to late to get the full benefits of LST but I’ve also run a few plants and only started training in the start of flowering, of course trining autos the earlier is always better. Maybe an idea for your next run. I always hit training early as possible with autos as defoliating might affect some strains bad and stunt growth.

I dont trust those moisture monitors, they have been known to be a little out. You also dont want to put them at the bottom, as the soil will be wet there but dry on top and that medium is definitely dry at the seedling base and roots. You dont need to water the whole pot yet, just at the seedling area and base, but slowly watering wider as times goes, for the roots to search out the water, but not yet or your medium wont dry out below and you'll have to water the top and it can cause overwatering issues.

Ok maybe pull the stem a tiny inch away from the bottom of the oven? Now I'm just throwing things to see what sticks

So I am using Freedom Farms normal organic soil, not the premium. I also noticed when I got my soil PH metre and also tested run off with my PH pen that my soil is sitting around 7.0 to 7.1. I have been watering around 5.8 - 6.2. But as you rightly say, Freedom Farms recommend 5.5 - 6.0 and this is because they have it buffered or something against lower PH, but not high. So I think if you water below 6.0 you will get into the right range. 7.0 is not horrible, but a few 0.1s lower would be better. I am also using BioBizz. Plants look nice and healthy on my end, no deficiencies. I use Grow and Bloom. With grow alone I still need to drop the PH and I just use Lemon Juice for that, nice and organic in a sense Here is the excerpt. Ideal watering pH for Freedom Farms Craft Soils Ideal pH 5.5 – 6.0 Pure coconut coir has a pH between 5.8 – 6.8. A substrate/soil pH of between 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal for plant nutrient uptake under both organic and inorganic fertiliser regimes. Freedom Farms Coco coir is buffered and charged with natural amendments. The high Calcium content of our amendments maintains the pH in the 6.5-6.8 range and will prevent a decrease in pH (substrate acidification) resulting from fertiliser application or waterings at a low pH. The soil pH is therefore buffered against decreasing pH. On the other hand, an incremental increase in pH resulting from tap water (pH 7-8.5) use can cause the soil pH to increase above the optimal range for nutrient uptake. The soil pH is therefore not buffered against increasing pH caused by using un-pH’d tap water. Watering with a pH of 5.5-6.0 will ensure the pH of the soil remains in the optimal range of 5.5-6.5.

Hi Guys, I've learned a few things during my winter grow, especially by overfeeding. I'd love input from more experienced hydroponic growers like @CreX on a post where I try to summarise key scenarios for future reference and anybody else who would like to use it. Taken from here: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Monitoring the interaction of EC, pH and water uptake in hydroponics can prevent most issues and this post explores the interaction with guidelines. Hydroponic growing Growing marijuana hydroponically is a method of growing cannabis plants without soil. The plants get fed by soluble fertilizers that are dissolved in water. Hydroponic gardening can be more productive than soil growing, but it is not nearly as forgiving. Soil works as a buffer for nutrients and holds on to them longer than a hydroponic grow medium does. Hydroponic grow mediums contain no nutrients – all the nutrients are supplied via a nutrient solution. Contrary to popular belief, hydroponic gardens often require more care than soil gardens. Because the plants grow faster, there are more things to check and way more things that can go wrong. The electrical conductivity (EC) and pH of a hydroponic system are vitally important and their interaction is recapped in the next section. EC and pH Hydroponic systems are reliant on the composition and formulation of the nutrient solution to supply all the essential elements required for optimal plant growth and yields. However, nutrient solutions are complex and their composition changes as mineral ions are extracted when they flow through the root system. Ideal pH is 5.8 during veg for cannabis and 6.0 during flowering. Best results can be achieved by allowing pH to swing between 5.8 and 6.2. Deficiencies in hydroponic production are more common than toxicities, as plant uptake of many elements has the potential to strip out nutrients at a rapid rate, particularly from recirculating solutions. The most common deficiency problems in hydroponic crops are potassium in fruiting plants like tomatoes; iron under certain environmental conditions; nitrogen in some readily growing, highly vegetative crops; and calcium in many species, such as lettuce, tomatoes and peppers. Deficiencies might or might not be the result of an actual deficiency in the nutrient solution with hydroponics. The problem of overfeeding and nutrient lockout is the main aim of this post, especially on how to prevent it before your plants start showing strange symptoms like the photo below. Nitrogen deficiency in early flower caused by nutrient lockout. EC, pH and water uptake in hydroponics Starting with reverse osmosis water can prevent most of the issues when growing with hydroponics. The table below is a reference to assist hydroponic growers to keep the perfect growing environment going. Water Level EC pH Comment Static Static Static Plant not feeding/drinking, change EC, check meters. Usually, lowering the EC a little (by 0.2) should get the plant feeding again. Static Static Rising pH buffers probably raising pH. This is usual. Having a static water level is not though, a slight reduction in EC (by 0.2) or a res change should resolve this. Static Static Falling Usual cause of this is when media has been rinsed at a lower pH than you require. The other possibility is that too much CO2 has been pumped into the water. Change your res and look at the volume of air pumped plus look at your air source. Res change is recommended. Static Rising Static Plant is leeching nutrients, raise EC by 0.2. Static Rising Rising Plant is leeching nutrition, raise EC. An unusual state. The rising pH is probably caused by nutrient leeching back. If these are alkaline, it will lead to the rise in pH. Could also be pH buffers. Static Rising Falling As above. Res change, plus increase in EC. Static Falling Static Plant eating but not drinking. Not ideal. Lower EC by 0.2. Static Falling Rising As above but rising pH is a better sign. Lower EC slightly or res change. Static Falling Falling Falling pH along with falling EC but no drop in water level suggests a res change. Depending on other symptoms, lowering EC after res change. Falling Static Static Perfect conditions. EC and pH are at the correct level. Falling Static Rising Normal state most people encounter. Nothing to worry about, carry on doing what you are doing unless other symptoms are showing or pH swings by more than 0.5. If pH swings too much, change res and lower EC. Falling Static Falling Res change plus a change of EC. Lower EC if over 1.4, raise EC if lower than 1.0 Falling Rising Static Plant is drinking more than eating, lower EC by 0.2. Falling Rising Rising Plant is drinking more than eating, lower EC by 0.2. Falling Rising Falling Plant is drinking more than eating. Lower EC with a res change. Falling Falling Static Hungry plant, raise EC by 0.1. Very good situation to be in. Nutrient buffers are working and plant is taking a balance of nutrients. Falling Falling Rising Almost as above, usually considered almost perfect, raise EC by 0.1. Falling Falling Falling Res change. Raise EC by 0.2 on new res. All the girls except the FS is putting out pistils, it's to be expected since she is a sativa heavy dominant strain.
