9 weeks tomorrow. I realised that I mixed up my clones. Harvested a branch of what I thought was OKC.and realized when trimmimg it that it was infact OG kush. But every thing looks amazing. New plants in the tent today are.the Ghost Train Haze from Rare dankness and Blunicorn from In House Genetics. The large one is the sluricane. Last pic is the Rasberry Diesel. It is probably the most surprising of all the plants. I did not expect it tosmell this way.7 points

@Master_Gis right though... You have signs of magnesium deficiency. I would add some magnesium sulphate to your next feed. Epsom salts is the stuff you need Buy a box from pnp for like 20 bucks... And give some to her... It's pretty hard to over do it. But I would go in at a level teaspoon and see the difference. Repeat this once a week for 2 weeks and then monitor from there.3 points

Increasing the size of the herd will get you results. Biodyne, explogrow, other microbe innoculants will do this. Feed that microherd mollasses and other sugars and carbohydrates(teas) to keep them pumping in overdrive. The plant is not necessarily going to uptake more than it needs though.3 points

Grew this plant in ff craft soil. Only fed malted barley teas and biobizz bloom twice. Also some microbed. Nothing wrong with the soil. Never pHed the water once. ..3 points

Eish, u see thats why this forum is so good lol someome has read something about someone's problem Years ago I used chilies mixed with water and a few drops of sunlight but trying all this fancy shit now days and it just makes life difficult lol2 points

These pair are my current grow and seed project. On the left we have a male sour blueberry x grape stomper. A little mix up of HSO and Gage Green's offerings. On the right is a blue cheese, she is just begining to pre-flower and has been outside for the last 5/6 weeks. Malted barley and dry fert top dressing. Water straight put the tap inbetween the rains. My neighbours and i combined all our cured trim together (580 g) and made a decent batch this week. have a lekker weekend, mense2 points

thanks for sharing your methods. I am new to gardening with malted barley too. in my limited experience I've mixed it in with the other soil ingredients before planting, put a load into my worm bin and have tried top dressing (50 ml) just like you suggested. The relevant enzymes and their functions are all listed in here; https://www.revivalgardening.com/help/why-use-malted-barley-grains @SkunkPharm do you crush your barley, or use the whole grain? Please tell me about the organo mineral, what is in it exactly?2 points

@greenkushThat plant looks great!!! Nice I grew for many years using synth nutes and coco on a drain to waste program. Once dialed in, it's where I grew my biggest and most potent bud to date. Nothing wrong with synth nutes and results are great if used correctly with the right parameters and technique in place. After watching a few YouTube videos and seeing what some of the more organically experienced members on the forum where doing, I decided to give it a try at the beginning of the year. It's been a very educational and informative transition, as I've learnt so much more than just growing dank. Still honing my skills in with regards to this growing style, so I'll reserve my opinion on which I prefer until I have accumulated more experience.2 points

Sorry bud, lol ya let the water stand by itself. I always fill up 2 buckets and then use them for what ever is happening.2 points

@SkunkPharmYour plant looks great and ur results speak for themselves. I have also had good success with the soil in the past but the last batch was problematic for me. Below is a pic of my GDP that was grown in FF soil but I BOMBED it with biobizz @BurlyTry not over water the plants either and let them dry in between waterings. Sometimes over watering can manifest itself as a lockout. Hope they bounce back and grow some fat kolas.2 points
-
Howzit going brother! I wouldn't ph the water you use for either, rather let the water sit for 24h and it will balance itself as the unwanted chemicals evaporate. I have not had any experience with either product, but I recommend less is more.2 points
-
Hey bud, If you maybe seeing some tips burning, could be that the nutrient is getting locked out. skip a couple of feeds and just give them Ph'd water (water that's sitting for 24h). Seen lockout occur when leaves claw, until they cant anymore and burn upwards. Not sure what the regiment is like, so ya just some input.2 points

I know what you mean, they actually do include different spectrum leds. I got this cheapie led bulbs from China as well. They have Blue, Red, White, UV and IR diodes as well. Low output, but perfect for hardening off seedlings or clones... Even for vegging a bonsai mother. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk2 points

Update: 31st July 2020: So today is the start of week 5. So the girl growing well. Taking well to the LST I have been doing for the last week. Really moving along great, and is making great progress since the over water issue experienced. Any advice at this stage of the growth? Not sure if i need to start clearing the small leafs below at the bottom of the plant or getting rid of the leaves that was effected by the over watering.1 point
-
I assume they are outside then, nothing hiding underneath the leaves? From the quick google search I did earlier, it seems vegol works when sprayed onto the insect. Not sure just spraying the plant will stop the pests.1 point

@afternoon blazer That Chloramine. Think i'm going to let my drinking water stand from now on too1 point

@Delicious here is your saucy sauce! https://thevape.guide/pax-3-vs-davinci-iq-2-vs-crafty/ The IQ2 has adjustable airflow as well which not many herb vapes have, if any of them actually. So you can decide whether you want a tighter draw or air for days. That Ditanium seems pretty cool, bit of a long heat up, but probably awesome for a big gather of people which is obviously not allowed now during lockdown - unless you hire a taxi for you and your friends or want to take it with you to a funeral of course. Portable vape, I still quite like the idea of the IQ2 and wish I could just try it along with some other vapes to see how much of a difference there is. How does the flavour on the desktop vapes such as da buddah and ditanium ( @Ill_Evan ) compared to portable vapes?1 point

The chart on the bottle works pretty well, at least for coco. I am sure it would be the same for soil though. If you're about to flip to flower, then possibly use the pre-flower chart and once the stretch has stopped then go to the flowering chart dosages.1 point
-
My understanding that water straight out of the tap works but can be counter-productive for the beneficial micro-organisms in the soil and phylloshere. If you relying on them to feed your plant, then you gotta think about it. If you are feeding you plant with synthetic nutes, then it doesn't matter. However, I've been wrong before. and Ill be wrong again, I suppose its all part of learning.1 point

Here one for the chem boff's. I went down this rabbit hole for weeks during lockdown, eventually came across a study where it was said that the aloin in the aloe ferox increased the OM dramatically. But may be detrimental to the microbes due to its ability to change the genetic makeup over time. Possibly rendering them mutated in ways. I've been toying with the idea for so long now. But the dosages could be highly detrimental. Bitter crytals extracted from aloe ferox (yellow sap/not inner leaf) is known to hold the highest variety of amino acid profiles as far as Aloe goes, 34 to be exact. So complex, it will make you shit yourself (literally, its a powerful laxative) So the idea is not having so much of these compounds that the rhizosphere explodes in OM and come to a screeching halt, because well, everything is dead. But rather, a teeny tiny small amount to switch on or chelate further those oh so necessary amino acid profiles. My thoughts are to signal these enzymes to switch on. Normally these crystals come in little lip balm containers and directions for use are 1 small crystal dissolved in water daily. Some people say it causes cancer and other praise it for being an absolute miracle. anybody care to share some thoughts?1 point

Hey Bro. Looking good. Some small Deficiency in the leaves there. but overall its looking pretty good I have to say1 point

I feel the biggest mistake anyone in any profession or field could make, is thinking they know everything. Myself, I'm learning each and every day still. We have to be open to new things or views and challenge ourselves every day too, how else do we essentially grow, pun intended. Coot was disliked at first, and all those who disagreed, now follow closely, it's all how you want to grow, or can, and what works for you, in your environment.1 point

I must say it was pretty weird to see the soil for the first time, not what I expected in looks, to me it looks more like coco. But yeah my plants did really well and easy in the first few weeks I don’t know what happened now but most of my plants are dropping I think it’s PH and I bought microbs and molasses today to add to my Biobizz feed. Wish me and the girls luck.1 point
-
Its a good soil. But think they can add a bit more to the soil. Now they add just enough for you to have to feed something.1 point
-
Yeah I’m trying to get the feel for FF in this run, learning as I go and from you guys in my attempt to go a bit more organic.1 point

She really is looking good, those lights and gardener must be doing something right I was just wondering if you were going to do some LST to get more bud sites out that lady. It’s a pretty simple process of bending back the top coles and making light available to the lower branches. We could all give our take on the process, it’s just one of those many things each grower might and do do differently but really increases plant health and healed. It might be a tad to late to get the full benefits of LST but I’ve also run a few plants and only started training in the start of flowering, of course trining autos the earlier is always better. Maybe an idea for your next run. I always hit training early as possible with autos as defoliating might affect some strains bad and stunt growth.1 point
-
@Burly thanks bro. Much appreciated. Yeah these are tough times we're living in mate. I reckon the world needs good weed now more than ever lol1 point

They are looking sexy dude. Well done. Learning about organic and soil as I go, it’s fun but challenging1 point

Hey howzit guys Finally got some action and things are starting to smell Finishing week 6 going into week 7. Passing the halfway mark. I got my baby a new home. Previous space was too cold and higher risk of pests chowing her so I went and got a grow cab and modified it slightly. Hooked up some cheap fans to circulate and extract air and she seems happy. Otherwise, not much happened during the last few weeks. Still feeding just pH balanced water and keeping up the 18/6 light schedule. I'm seeing new growth looking normal and older leaves showing signs of deficiency or maybe light burn? Will start feeding nutes soon. Have to get by with EHG nutes in pH balanced water according to lockdown budget. Shoutout to@Master_G your lights are fire bro!! Really efficient. Real quality material Below are some recent pics... please feel free to comment or question. Any advice welcome Peace .1 point

Thx @oros da boss, I'm trying to improve each grow and this is my second grow in living soil thx to@SkunkPharm advice and guidense [emoji322], I get my Barley from him and I think it's malted and not sure what strains. Multiple ways of using it, as is or grounded and just sprinkle on top and work it in a little. It makes like a crust and is fungy food if I understand the prosess correct. There is just something about organics that make buds so tasty. There is no better organic growing than in a "Living Soil" teaming with beneficial Bacteria, Mycorrhizal Fungi, and everything else your Cannabis needs to grow the dankest of bud. And best of all, you don't need any other nutrients at all for the entire life cycle of the plant. When I decided to go a full on organic route, I spent hours and hours searching the net for formulations, that are firstly effective, and secondly, has ingredients that are easily obtainable in South Africa from a sustainable source, and affordable. I have had to make many substitutions, since guano’s are not so readily available, and they are super expensive when you do manage to get hold of it. So I thought I would share my soil mix that I grow all my babies in. Super Soil Ingredients 60l Potting Soil (I use DoubleGrow) 40l Mushroom Compost ( Also DoubleGrow) 25l Worm Castings (Hortishop) 500g Bone Meal 500g Talborne (I do not use the Fruit and flower, but the VitaVeg 6-3-4) 1kg SeaMunGus (Chicken Manure and Kelp pellets and plants love it!) 1kg Lucerne Pellets (Rabbit food) 500g Agricultural Lime 500g Volcanic Rock Dust (Turbogrow) 1 sachet of rock phosphate 500g Mycoroot 1 Compost activator sachet (Effecto Brand) 500g Brown Sugar (You can add Molasses, but I find that it takes the micro-organisms longer to eat up the sugar) Once all these are thoroughly mixed, this soil needs to mature and stabilize over a period of 2-3 months minimum; however the soil becomes sweeter the longer you leave it. I store my soil in large black bins, and chuck the whole lot out and mix through once a month for the first 2 months. This soil needs to be kept only just moist, but not wet. Pro Mix Ingredients 60l Coco Peat 30l Worm castings 30l Mushroom compost 20l Perlite 40L Super Soil (This first needs to stabilize before using) 500g Bone Meal 500g Talborne VitaVeg 6-3-4 500g volcanic Rock Dust 500g Mycoroot 500g Agricultural Lime Regardless of the size of the container I grow in, I fill the bottom half with Super Soil, and the remainder with Pro Mix. From seed to harvest I have never had deficient plants, and I only use de-chlorinated tap water (Just let it stand for 24 hours or more to let all the Chlorine evaporate. Unless your tap water pH is really off, you don’t even need to pH correct your water. The lime in the mix is a brilliant buffer to acidity. It does cost a bit to mix this soil up, but the results speak for themselves!1 point

Just two photos of how the girls are looking tonight. Older growth is shite but new growth is on point. Will be doing a batshit guano feed soon too. Anyhow brother I fed the big flowering girls yesterday and the small veg girls, I also pruned all of the flowering girls, making sure they're gonna grow exactly how I want them. Some flowering photos. The AH is putting out some goodness. Some yellow on some of the girls still but new growth is looking fresh and nicely green, just how we like em.
