A little over 4 weeks old. The bushy dense genes of the choco are pulling through. The gelato mom, was stretchy, with a low yield. So hoping the yield genes also carry.

Out with the old in with the new. Major General Banner from GSR seeds, Ghost Train Haze from Rare Dankness and Blunicorn from In House Genetics.

And so it begins. Seeds was planted yesterday, 1 August, in some Just Cannabis soil. Hopefully she germinates Using 4x cool white cfl’s and a 22W cool white led strip for veg in the meantime. Either going to add some extra cfl’s or slap a 150w halide over plant once she gets a bit bigger. Not sure if theres a double ended mh bulb out suitable for Veg. I do have a 3500k bulb waiting for flower. Here’s my little ghetto garage setup so far

Morning Blazers. Weekly update time. Week 3 - day 15 Really enjoying the grow so far. Fed her yesterday. Think i will start some gro. And fish mix at half strength on the next feeding. Any suggestions or u guys spot anything im missing?

Thanks guys, really appreciate your input! @ORGANinc.,jep it's a beautiful morning here in WC... and it's even better after a nice breakfast vape . I mixed my soil in the beginning of June and intend on germinating my first batch of seeds on the 1st of October and the second on 31st of October. So the first batch will get soil that cooked for 3 months. I'll keep you guys posted how it goes.

Weekly update: Theyre growing nicely, but drooping a bit. Will see if they perk up after I've watered now. Any suggestions / observations, guys?

Cooked rice or dry? Wonder what adding cooked whole grains such as barley would do ito fodder for the herd I add quite a lot of the cheapest dog pellets to my soils. Contains 60% plus of maize as filler. Great food source for the phosphorus freeing fungi for flowering.

Hey bro! Hope this Sunday morning started with a spark I layer mine. Hot mix at the bottom. And I let it “cook” for about 5-6 weeks, I leave it in the garage. Still get nice and steamy in there. The next round will be sitting for longer so should be just better as Tote explains. If you do layer your mix. Try remember this, the roots will only engulf the mix once they seek the nutrition. Usually during flowering. So make sure to have a mix suitable for flowering. So lowish on the N spectrum. If you going for veg and flower in the mix. The recipe and layering strategies will need some tlc good luck bro!

When I first started mixing my soils, I too layered, sometimes still do. My soil mix on here was inspired by subcools soil. I aim as far as possible with my growing to not need to fertilize as often as with less alive soil. I do it because my soil mix is much hotter than any commercially available soil, and young root systems do have a hard time in it. It's going to come down to how long you "cook" the soil for, and what you put in it. My soil at 2 months is way hot. 4 months better, 6 months even better.

Yo peeps shot for the advice, I waited patiently and added more water in the circle. The little dude has shot up straight and popped out a few more leaves. Looking good, iv just watered in the circle again, so looking sharp... One more question though when do I know that I need to add molasses?

Aweh, Hope the fellow outdoor growers are getting their soil preps sorted. Mine's been cooking for a while and amendments went in, compost is being sifted and many batches of AACT innoculations have been administered. Managed to do some research into SST(seed sprout tea) and decided to give it a go as the science is solid from numerous sources. Settled on mungbean for veg and corn for flower, ladies got their first taste of the new tea today. Reaction from the ladies is positive so far, will keep an eye. Both the Pineapple express and Fruitpunch ladies are bearing seed after manual pollination. Especially excited for the Purple PE pheno. Cheers

Hi everyone, my soil is cooking (first time I made my own super soil) and I read up on the layering part. Subcool recommended to layer the soil and put a layer of super soil into the bottom of the container and cover it with regular soil. Background is not to burn the roots of the young plants during early stages of their life. After reading some forum posts on other growing forums I saw that many growers do not layer their soil and still have decent outcomes. What is your take on it? Do you layer your soil mix or do you think it's not really necessary?

I add rice to speed up the cooking process. I cook it for 2 weeks and plant straight into it. No problems. I dont layer but I do however dilute my soil 1~4 with compost worm castings peat and perlite.

Thanks Bud. I have 8 that I'm pushing through with, wasn't expecting all the seed's I planted and chucked outside to germinate and then half ended up female. Happy with the outcome though considering the very first light was a lead light with a 22w led globe. Gonna stick to 4 next time. Outdoors is upon us again though. Preparing the ground for a herb garden with companion plants and I'll chuck 4 in amongst them and hope for a 100% female then pray for 50% hit rate. Love this thread! This is something small for veg. Draw watt should be about 225w so I would think I’m getting around 100w true. But could be completely off so will keep updating as to how it grafts Simple and easy to put together...

Hello Rob, you can order all the bits online. I would use my own compost, rather than store bought, every time. If you have got a worm bin going then use those castings too. 50 litre coco. Washed and buffered. You must soak and rinse it twice to remove the excess salts 20 litre Biogreen universal potting mix. A blend of composted wood and peat. Use it straight out of the bag. 15 litre leaf mould compost. 10 litre worm casting. 125 ml 3-1-5 talborne vita pellets 25 ml gypsum. Gardener's gold dust 100 ml calcitic lime 250 ml ground kelp 250ml bone meal 125 ml rock phosphate 250 ml rock dust 50 ml malted barley 50ml coconut powder

That's my soil mix. By no means a rigid recipe either. Many items can be replaced by other similiar items. The reason all the ingredients are in there is to grow cannabis.

How to compare the intricate mycological flora from a well established 1000 year old undisturbed forest with what's happening in your ''residential'' garden soil, that's had much, much less time. Compare that with ''supersoils'' or ''craft soils and the amount of disturbances and processing involved. In the effort to emulate mother nature we will always be lagging behind, needing all the help we can get. She has all the time in the world to create. I say add the myco's. Hehe, So, I've got the 3500K + 660nm and the 3000K + 660nm boards in the tent, dimmed really low but about 20cm at the closest point. Will see how it goes. Reckon it's a good spectrum spread, so I'll get rid of extraneous gear and stick with this setup.

Due to my extreme OCD, I've been doing plenty of things to these poor plants that I know I shouldn't have. Trimming leaves, bending stems, LST'ing at far too late a stage, removing soil to check that a germinating seed is still alive etc. etc. You name it I've done it. It all culminated in snapping off a main branch tonight. Hopefully, that jolt to my system can stem the tide of plant abuse that I'm inflicting on these poor things. I have poor impulse control I'm afraid. The middle plant is retarded because I didn't pack the soil enough around the seed, and had to intervene and re-plant it when it's roots couldn't penetrate far enough down. It survived, but you can see it's rather...flat. Here's to the future, ie. The Euforia youngling on the bottom right, the only one I have raised correctly so far. The Euforia on the left was slow and I couldn't help but scrape away soil to make it easier to break ground, which I presume is why it's so much smaller. Advice is welcomed.
