I dont think any of us think their penalties are fair. As the law currently stands I get way less jail time for trafficking a truckload. But then I look at the bill as a whole, what its purpose is, then I see the reasoning behind its structure. While my personal opinion is there should be no limits whatsoever. However the limits they are suggesting are more than adequate to cover personal home use. The limits they are setting on gifts is more than adequate to allow us to barter freely. As for the reasoning behind the harsh sentences. Imo if I do look at the allowances we might get...pretty much kills any serious black market activity anyway as it's just not profitable enough when people can gift 100g a go. We cant expect this bills scope to reach beyond the Constitutional courts ruling, which only covers personal use.7 points

After last years bumper grows I am aiming to do 3 outdoor harvests this year seeing that we wil be limited to 8 plants in flower. My first batch of seeds went into the soil last week. Doing an Northen lights, OG Kush, white widow, ak and bubblegum autoflower run. Will stil plant another 3 to make up the 8 plant limit. Still making up my mind for photos for next year so far i have the following on the list. Sluricane, blunicorn and frosted apricots from in house genetics. Early lemon berry and orange kush cake from ethos. Spumoni from the plug seeds. Dream queen from humboldt seed co. Ghost train Haze from Rare dankness. Will do 2 runs of those. Good luck to every one else's prep. If any one in CT would like clones. Shout. Don't have much atm but will have some coming up for summer.4 points

0.25 grams of concentrate is equal to 1 gram of dried cannabis. So if you are allowed 1.2kg of dried cannabis, and you produce 1.5kg in your yield, and then take 0.5kg and turn it into concentrate, your theoretical stash amount is equal to 1kg (dried cannabis) + x of concentrate as long as the concentrate isn't more than 50g. 50g concentrate = 200g dried cannabis That time where you have the extra 300g over the 1.2kg limit will be like breaking the speed limit. If you wanted to play it safe I'd put that 0.5kg of dried cannabis into a container and label it "For Concentrate". Edit: Or if you wanted to play it even safer just gift the extra 300g dried cannabis to a mate or three and make the hash/concentrate at their place. Edit edit: You have to be given the opportunity to dry your harvest and measure your yield before you know how much you have so you can't be faulted for accidentally going over the limit, but do note that 1.5kg of dried cannabis is considered a trafficable amount of cannabis, so as soon as that is realised, the sooner it is rectified the better. Like with breaking the speed limit, if you notice you are speeding, and you slow down to the limit, no harm done, you're not instantly fined or arrested.4 points

Not promising anything to anyone, but I may be this person. Been planning a legal commercial grow for a while but funding is an issue. Working on a unique product (since I'm a chemist) using weed, and if I can get the formula and processes just right I'm pretty sure I can secure some agreement to grow on a large scale to produce what I need. If ever it comes to light, which I'm hoping it will, it means South Africa will have a reason to commercially grow weed. What I need is ways to extract cannabinoids and terpenoids and then use them by themselves... I don't have the means or the cash, but I have the knowledge... I've worked with fractional distillation, regular, rotovap applications and a bunch of other equipment while doing my course and a bit after. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk3 points

It's a trafficable offence that carries a fifteen year jail sentence as I read it. The police have been heavy handed on some people who sell cigarettes and alcohol on the black market and not on others. I would say caution is paramount.3 points

It is surely unconstitutional to exclude people from climbing the ranks in commercial activity, from small-scale to corporate size enterprises. There should be a tiered licensing and multi-sector approach. It's a good example of how people across the spectrum can benefit from economic activity related to cultivation, sale and beneficiation of cannabis. It is also a good example of how easy it is for the State and Monopoly to capture the market. Anyway, that's all I can say on the subject. Lol. I will move away from such serious stuff. I didn't know that the Bill had been passed until I came onto this site as a guest.3 points

Man that is a sore point. I had to stop doing that for now. Although the sun is out the temperature out here on the reservation is still freezing with the wind chill factor. Not to mention the strong gust's that blow every so often. Then in summer it's fcuk'ng hot, hence my outdoor grow is usually in a shade house. Busy setting up a permaculture area for a few plants that I hope will give them a bit of protection and natural nutrients from the surrounding herbs and plants. Waiting for the September full moon to plant the mother herb and in a year or two I should have a nice oasis with a stream running through in which to relax and enjoy a spliff. Exciting times. I am afraid the commercial part of regulation might become a dirty game where each big shark in the pond will try and make big money walking over dead bodies. As soon as big money is involved people can become monsters. I think people like you and me will have a tough time to establish a business unless you got friends in the right places. I agree it is unconstitutional to exclude people from getting a chance and live from the cannabis business but I have seen many things happening (especially lately during lockdown) that appear unconstitutional to me. When it comes to Police I hope they'll get a real good briefing about what is allowed in terms of cannabis cultivation and storage and what isn't allowed. To be honest I doubt that's going to happen and we'll still see lot's of cannabis related arrests in the beginning. As already stated I am personally happy with the Bill in terms of what I am allowed to grow. I will never be able to consume more than 1.2 Kg (my wife doesn't smoke) in a year. One question that I asked myself and excuse if this has been answered somewhere already. What happens if I harvest 1.5 Kg and use 0.5 Kg for bubble hash or other concentrates? In the end I should have a stash of less than 1.2 Kg again. Wouldn't that be some sort of loophole @Ill_Evan?2 points

5 ring boards 45W each 4200K 4 ring board 36W 6000K. I haven't checked actual power draw. All mounted onto a thin aluminum plate. Doubles as a heat mat for germinating seeds/clone dome. So this light was built to veg the keepers which don't need alot of light. The ring is a lens over the diodes. I've been meaning to remove it but just never got around to doing as this light as is vegs very impressively and I spend minimal time in this tent. I've ended up using the other diy light for the keepers and this light for vegging plants about to be flipped. This light has been ON 24/7 since December I think. Every diode still works. In general to anyone else reading this, this light is not capable of flowering. For one incorrect spectrum. And then actual power is probably questionable.2 points

Well, if you gift someone a clone, and the next day they gift you a gram...not sure... That is harsh, and the guys in Knysna are also fighting as they got Grant's to grow, but have gotten harrassed, and all sorts. This Country is it's own, and needs it's own style plan, not a copy and paste, of what doesn't even work for the overseas brother's. Let's also leave the past in the past, it's now water under the bridge1 point

Funny enough my dehumidifier stopped removing water from the air last week, called up Kloppers and dropped it off, without slip, and they 1 year and 10 months later, have repaired the unit free of charge. That is good service and while I didnt have it for the few days, I got WPM in the first 2 days.1 point

The law though, and this forum are not the same. You can be serious all you want. But please don't expect me to tread lightly just because of it, or feel sorry that your feelings are hurt. If you knew me at all, you'd know that I'm OCD level serious when it comes to Cannabis. That seriousness doesn't need to cloud the lighter atmosphere we try to keep going here. It is afterall a social platform. At best all I see is a little light humor, a mild hazing and welcome to the community, but that's just me...1 point

I'm fine with that. I had the leaked BILL from January last year, which I have discovered was edited and is different from the actual BILL, which I have now found on the government site. My error for not looking for a new version. So I will have to retract what I said about the BILL being a bad one. I will read the revised one. Still it is unnecessary for a bunch of people to make fun of someone for having a difference of opinion. I accept your apology though. Thanks.1 point

Hate to break it to you warrior of justice, but this plant has been illegal for more than a "few" years, circa 1922. You can't have it both ways the government will try to make money from it, exactly how every American state/Canada has done.1 point

That shot looks pretty nice man, for real [emoji1377] Just zoom in a little with your phone and tap the screen so it auto adjusts focus and exposure, then take another shot. There are handheld digital microscopes that you can hook up to your laptop, PC or mac via USB and have a look at your buds in some real clear HD quality video feed. They are generally above 500 online on the cheap sites though, so you may have to do some looking but the slightly more expensive full HD ones are worth the money IMO. I want one but I don't want to buy it for that reason only. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk1 point

There is just something about organics that make buds so tasty. There is no better organic growing than in a "Living Soil" teaming with beneficial Bacteria, Mycorrhizal Fungi, and everything else your Cannabis needs to grow the dankest of bud. And best of all, you don't need any other nutrients at all for the entire life cycle of the plant. When I decided to go a full on organic route, I spent hours and hours searching the net for formulations, that are firstly effective, and secondly, has ingredients that are easily obtainable in South Africa from a sustainable source, and affordable. I have had to make many substitutions, since guano’s are not so readily available, and they are super expensive when you do manage to get hold of it. So I thought I would share my soil mix that I grow all my babies in. Super Soil Ingredients 60l Potting Soil (I use DoubleGrow) 40l Mushroom Compost ( Also DoubleGrow) 25l Worm Castings (Hortishop) 500g Bone Meal 500g Talborne (I do not use the Fruit and flower, but the VitaVeg 6-3-4) 1kg SeaMunGus (Chicken Manure and Kelp pellets and plants love it!) 1kg Lucerne Pellets (Rabbit food) 500g Agricultural Lime 500g Volcanic Rock Dust (Turbogrow) 1 sachet of rock phosphate 500g Mycoroot 1 Compost activator sachet (Effecto Brand) 500g Brown Sugar (You can add Molasses, but I find that it takes the micro-organisms longer to eat up the sugar) Once all these are thoroughly mixed, this soil needs to mature and stabilize over a period of 2-3 months minimum; however the soil becomes sweeter the longer you leave it. I store my soil in large black bins, and chuck the whole lot out and mix through once a month for the first 2 months. This soil needs to be kept only just moist, but not wet. Pro Mix Ingredients 60l Coco Peat 30l Worm castings 30l Mushroom compost 20l Perlite 40L Super Soil (This first needs to stabilize before using) 500g Bone Meal 500g Talborne VitaVeg 6-3-4 500g volcanic Rock Dust 500g Mycoroot 500g Agricultural Lime Regardless of the size of the container I grow in, I fill the bottom half with Super Soil, and the remainder with Pro Mix. From seed to harvest I have never had deficient plants, and I only use de-chlorinated tap water (Just let it stand for 24 hours or more to let all the Chlorine evaporate. Unless your tap water pH is really off, you don’t even need to pH correct your water. The lime in the mix is a brilliant buffer to acidity. It does cost a bit to mix this soil up, but the results speak for themselves!1 point

Due for a small update. Sadly none of my GTH seeds sprouted, but I'm hoping for a female clone from the source to include in this winter's run. 11 May Well over 200 of my F4 beans sprouted on a farm neither here nor there. Haven't been to visit since, but going through this week. So excited to just get out there and away from the suburbs. I want to go and remove all the males and do some other thinning. All these little ones have since been planted in the ground and well on their way. Will update on the visit. Then I have 2 of my F4 girls here, chosen from 20. I finally have a female with morphed phyllotaxy. There have been hundreds but never a female. These two, are destined to be treated with STS and will be my Choco pollen donors that are pollinating clones taken from the farm. These are in soil I got from @SkunkPharm, and they are loving it. Thanks for helping a brother out when lockdown was at high tide. I haven't fed once, and these were transplanted to 15l pots from 5l this morning in the same soil, so giving it a proper test.1 point

Quite the thread revival, I know. So who all is using this soil and how is it performing? Do you just chuck the ingredients together in a big bin and close it and leave it outside? Does it need sun or heat? Any modifications to the recipe? Freedom Farms soil has become popular, perhaps that's instead or? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point

Hi AJ, I use both when i want to grow out a plant, and not really have to feed it anything throughout the grow. By adding the supersoil to the bottom, and the promix to the top, allows the younger plants to establish their root systems, and grow into the supersoil to get the nutes. Planting a seed/seedling into supersoil directly will kill it. You can also only use the promix if you are going to suppliment with organic feeding. You can add perlite to the supersoil if you'd like more air. Agricultural lime is dolomite lime.1 point

Going and sampling soil from the mountains and forests are a very good way to ensure that you have a soil that is teaming with local strains of fungi and bacteria, and will help a lot with immune stability of your plants. Always look for patches where the humus is a few centimeters thick, and sample from there.1 point
