A few problems I have with it. Those penalties are ridiculous. They are still quite happy to criminalize people for a plant. The fact that they want to regulate and prescribe what my privacy should look like....then it's not privacy anymore. Long story short. There is still a lot of activism ahead of us.8 points

Let’s keep track of my proper bonsai attempt. Last run stayed small with my lights, so just going full out this time bend them while they are young hey?4 points

Hi @DamDave, LEDs get better efficiencies (lm/W) at lower currents and cooler temperatures. We have watt-meters in stock. It's possible to estimate with a very accurate multimeter, but a watt meter is simpler. Pretty useful in general too, to see your electricity use. You can grow seedlings with 15W. There's no need to blast them with 75W. But if you do decrease voltage, you need to be careful changing the voltage back up, as IV curves (voltage vs current) is an exponential curve, and you will damage the LEDs if they run for long, above their rated maxes.3 points

Greenhouses firlter sunlight. You will only increase the temps and humidity and that's if you don't have proper ventilation. You shouldn't be increasing anything with a greenhouse except your plant size. I agree that conditions for these plants are just unfavourable.3 points

Howzit all. Just a small midweek update. Shes in flowering this week. Week 4 day 26 Shes a short girl. Just about 30cm tall. @Naughty.Psychonaut there u go bro.3 points

After reading this properly, its exactly what i'm doing next time lol. 4 nodes 8 main colas cleaned and trained from the bottom up. Very excited to see this method through. Involves about half the stress if that. FASTER FASTER!3 points

Hi guys I started my first grow today in an 80cm x 80cm grow tent. I just did one seed for now but I'm hoping to do 2-3, I'm thinking 3 might be a bit much for my tent? My question is how many times do I need to transplant, and what pot sizes should I have? My seeds: https://www.cannabist.co.za/cannabis-seeds/strawberry-banana-cheese-feminised/?attribute_pa_pack-size=3-seeds I was thinking transplanting to a 2l pot and then a 10l a week or two before flowering. I'm looking at getting those freedom fabric pots I have one of these lights, would this be enough for 2-3 plants in 80cm x 80cm? https://www.acdc.co.za/products/220-240-150w-cool-white-led-alum-flood-light-ip65?variant=32751529689165 TLDR: Would 3 plants be possible in my 80cm x 80cm tent with this light? https://www.acdc.co.za/products/220-240-150w-cool-white-led-alum-flood-light-ip65?variant=32751529689165 How many times should I ideally be transplanting? What size pots would be ideal for each transplant? Is polystyrene cup > 5l fabric > 10l fabric okay?2 points

Air flow is key, you really dont want to have WPM crop in on your Greenhouse while flowering. Check these examples, extraction fans, or walls that remove in the day, angled tops to create flow2 points

I refer to the glass or sealed type, or even badly vented shade cloth ones, and didnt just come to that conclusion on my first go, it was a many times. For veg, perfect. Mostly... Say that because, the plant breathes through the leaves, and if you follow the VPD chart, you'll see if you have to much humidity, the plant will absorb the moisture from the air, and not the root zone, where you have added nutrients that you purchased and the air holds only moisture, and the plant will eventually become deficient in something or not fill the buds out properly. They also seemed to have very little high, as if the buds never fully ripened yet, and guess that would be the light, not lack of, but amount as it would be spread out, but not as powerful in a greenhouse. Again my understanding from what makes sense to me.2 points
-
@ORGANinc. u got a warm white led light aswell? So thats for flowering. I am in deep need for a small review on that light bro. Coz i have the cool white for veg. Wanted to know if the warm white can help me on flower like the cool white helps in veg.2 points

I've smoked outdoor, indoor, greenhouse, hydro and organic... Out of all the smoke, greenhouse was very disappointing and believe it would be as stated above, that the humidity in flowering and the lack of fresh CO2 your buds are going be fluffy and lacking. My 2c2 points

Yeah man trying to be efficient here lol, I could probably write off the first 3 weeks because I thought it would be a good idea to germinate my seeds under 2 12w cfls which gave me super stringy spindly seedlings but I fixed it luckily by installing those tubes. So it took 9/10 weeks. I think I could do it again in 8. But maybe 7 with new methods. And you bro? How long does it take you getting there? I wouldn’t want to veg any less than what I did now (For the strain). Very happy with the end height reached for a predominantly less stretchier strain in that makes sense.2 points

I don't think it will.. The material would be better at diffusing the light so that the inside of the greenhouse is well lit all-round, it won't in increase intensity. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk2 points

Time for another update. Plants were flipped on 25 July. I dont think I will go back to normal commercial soil, the soil from@SkunkPharm is working beautifully and I really like the fact that I just give them rain water. I gave them some malted barley the other day but prefer this method to having to measure nutrients each day etc. I have very limited experience with growing cannabis but Im very happy with the way they look now.2 points
-
If i'm understanding you correctly. it all depends on your end goal. So where ever you top, 2 new and progressively larger branches will form from that point. The method i'm describing above involves topping once 4 nodes are formed (that will be the only topping required as the desired number of bud sites has formed naturally)2 points
-
You can definitely do that, less than 12 hours light isn't an issue either, so you okay doing 6am to 6pm, and that light in the greenhouse will be sufficient too.2 points
-
Unfortunately Im not yet experienced enough to answer you on that my apologies. If you put them outside at 6am is it still completely dark or are there some lights in the vicinity? The greenhouse will depend on the material used as the cover I assume. What is the reason for taking them outside at 6am?2 points
-
Thank you alll for your input ... im going to have a look today , is it possible to move the plants outside at 6 the moring and inside at 6 at night to keep them in flowering mode?2 points

Hi guys, I finally got around to doing what I originally wanted to do, which is make vape oil with my rosin press. My last attempt wasn't satisfying. I changed my approach to making bubble hash first and then pressing the hash. Bonus here being you can use your trimmings and rejects. I documented it on my forum, it's a lengthy series of posts so I rather not repeat that exercise on my phone again, so have a look here, starting at this post: https://thegrotto.co.za/forum/threads/the-cannabis-chronicles.116/post-166782 points

Welcome to the forum @EthWal , and good luck with your first grow. Let us know how the flood light performs. Save up for a nice light in the future if possible, some guys here on the forum making nice LED setups if thats what u are after1 point
-
Ya bro I do. It was actually a mistake but I won’t be able to tell you if it’s better for flowering as I will not be using it for flowering. I wouldn't say it’s worth buying a warm white one for flowering bud. The light is definitely capable of flowering 1 plant either warm or cool. Plus the cool white will make your buds more sparkley1 point

Cool man! If you want maybe push the bar go 4. Even Stevens would be interesting to see what that led can do with that. It’s a good light1 point
-
Hey bud, you very safe with 3 10l end. I would say go more. Royal queen seed say 9 11l pot in 1m2. But if lighting is a factor. Maybe sit around 6 10l pots with 2 of these lights set in a rectangle setting. Good luck. Maybe get 1 cool white and 1 warm white. Mix the spectrums if you running them throughout. I’ve got 1 warm one with 4 cool white 18w tubes for veg. Works very well1 point

I’ve been using trimming so far but will use my flowers as well as I prefer vaping over smoking. So I wash the plant material using a bubble hash washing bag (with ice water), pour it through the bubble hash bags (4), discard the first two and scrape the last two. Dry it for a week and then press it. Using this machine: https://www.alloutdoorandhome.co.za///p/872358/3kg-camping-twin-tub-washing-machine1 point

So I use Lemon a fair amount. I am growing as 'Organically' as possible and thus prefer what is around the house. I have found that 1ml of Lemon Juice in 1000ml of water generally lowers the ph by 1.0 point. I use BioBozz nutrients. So when in the veg cycle and only using 1ml per 1litre of Bio Grow I need to add lemon juice. When in Bloom, and using 1ml of Grow and 1-3ml of Bloom I seldom add Lemon juice. But it depends on your Ph you are wanting to get. More recently I have been watering at a ph of 5.6 in line with FF suggestions (albeit it on the low end). I have not had to raise the PH yet, but I also heard that the Bicarb/Baking Soda method works well.1 point

@TheUltimateNoob @StickyD420 Thanks guys! appreciate it! Yeah man I was going to do something similar actually. After reading reading, I thought its gotta be better to just let those main branches grow out before topping and then the foundation is already set. will prove a bit more difficult with clones but ya will still be trying to use those same principals.1 point

Still learnt of other heat management though. So not a total loss.1 point

Exactly, I just thought seen as he was after the stealth look, he could get the double louver one and it would let air through, but essentially no light at all.1 point

Thanks man, really appreciate the help. I ordered the light. I see the vegetative lasts over a month so hopefully I can get to the next pay day before getting my flowering light Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Hospital, surgery.. back home. Sitting.. still not the best thing to do hehehe but I limped to my plants.. friend took good care of them. I have photos and video still on the cams.. I finish the diary as soon as I can sit more comfy and can work. Last 5 plants went dark end week 12.. as expected. Still.. they took a bit long. Smell is very intense and is a bit like nasty sweat smell. I try to achieve 14 days dry time... friend told me to try it. Moisture right now.. is a bit like 2 weeks curing on a stick 61% humidity, so why not try a 14 day slow dry. He gave me some WW he slow dried.. very very sexy smoke, i give him that.1 point

Im asuming that is total watt draw. Did u get any par specs? Is it dimmable? What was delivery time? What did it set u back?1 point
