  1. A few problems I have with it. Those penalties are ridiculous. They are still quite happy to criminalize people for a plant. The fact that they want to regulate and prescribe what my privacy should look like....then it's not privacy anymore. Long story short. There is still a lot of activism ahead of us.

  2. Let’s keep track of my proper bonsai attempt. Last run stayed small with my lights, so just going full out this time bend them while they are young hey?

  3. Hi @DamDave, LEDs get better efficiencies (lm/W) at lower currents and cooler temperatures. We have watt-meters in stock. It's possible to estimate with a very accurate multimeter, but a watt meter is simpler. Pretty useful in general too, to see your electricity use. You can grow seedlings with 15W. There's no need to blast them with 75W. But if you do decrease voltage, you need to be careful changing the voltage back up, as IV curves (voltage vs current) is an exponential curve, and you will damage the LEDs if they run for long, above their rated maxes.

  4. Greenhouses firlter sunlight. You will only increase the temps and humidity and that's if you don't have proper ventilation. You shouldn't be increasing anything with a greenhouse except your plant size. I agree that conditions for these plants are just unfavourable.

  6. After reading this properly, its exactly what i'm doing next time lol. 4 nodes 8 main colas cleaned and trained from the bottom up. Very excited to see this method through. Involves about half the stress if that. FASTER FASTER!

  8. Hi guys I started my first grow today in an 80cm x 80cm grow tent. I just did one seed for now but I'm hoping to do 2-3, I'm thinking 3 might be a bit much for my tent? My question is how many times do I need to transplant, and what pot sizes should I have? My seeds: https://www.cannabist.co.za/cannabis-seeds/strawberry-banana-cheese-feminised/?attribute_pa_pack-size=3-seeds I was thinking transplanting to a 2l pot and then a 10l a week or two before flowering. I'm looking at getting those freedom fabric pots I have one of these lights, would this be enough for 2-3 plants in 80cm x 80cm? https://www.acdc.co.za/products/220-240-150w-cool-white-led-alum-flood-light-ip65?variant=32751529689165 TLDR: Would 3 plants be possible in my 80cm x 80cm tent with this light? https://www.acdc.co.za/products/220-240-150w-cool-white-led-alum-flood-light-ip65?variant=32751529689165 How many times should I ideally be transplanting? What size pots would be ideal for each transplant? Is polystyrene cup > 5l fabric > 10l fabric okay?

  9. Air flow is key, you really dont want to have WPM crop in on your Greenhouse while flowering. Check these examples, extraction fans, or walls that remove in the day, angled tops to create flow

  10. I refer to the glass or sealed type, or even badly vented shade cloth ones, and didnt just come to that conclusion on my first go, it was a many times. For veg, perfect. Mostly... Say that because, the plant breathes through the leaves, and if you follow the VPD chart, you'll see if you have to much humidity, the plant will absorb the moisture from the air, and not the root zone, where you have added nutrients that you purchased and the air holds only moisture, and the plant will eventually become deficient in something or not fill the buds out properly. They also seemed to have very little high, as if the buds never fully ripened yet, and guess that would be the light, not lack of, but amount as it would be spread out, but not as powerful in a greenhouse. Again my understanding from what makes sense to me.

  11. @ORGANinc. u got a warm white led light aswell? So thats for flowering. I am in deep need for a small review on that light bro. Coz i have the cool white for veg. Wanted to know if the warm white can help me on flower like the cool white helps in veg.

  12. I've smoked outdoor, indoor, greenhouse, hydro and organic... Out of all the smoke, greenhouse was very disappointing and believe it would be as stated above, that the humidity in flowering and the lack of fresh CO2 your buds are going be fluffy and lacking. My 2c

  13. Yeah man trying to be efficient here lol, I could probably write off the first 3 weeks because I thought it would be a good idea to germinate my seeds under 2 12w cfls which gave me super stringy spindly seedlings but I fixed it luckily by installing those tubes. So it took 9/10 weeks. I think I could do it again in 8. But maybe 7 with new methods. And you bro? How long does it take you getting there? I wouldn’t want to veg any less than what I did now (For the strain). Very happy with the end height reached for a predominantly less stretchier strain in that makes sense.

  14. I don't think it will.. The material would be better at diffusing the light so that the inside of the greenhouse is well lit all-round, it won't in increase intensity. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk

  15. Time for another update. Plants were flipped on 25 July. I dont think I will go back to normal commercial soil, the soil from@SkunkPharm is working beautifully and I really like the fact that I just give them rain water. I gave them some malted barley the other day but prefer this method to having to measure nutrients each day etc. I have very limited experience with growing cannabis but Im very happy with the way they look now.

  16. If i'm understanding you correctly. it all depends on your end goal. So where ever you top, 2 new and progressively larger branches will form from that point. The method i'm describing above involves topping once 4 nodes are formed (that will be the only topping required as the desired number of bud sites has formed naturally)

  17. You can definitely do that, less than 12 hours light isn't an issue either, so you okay doing 6am to 6pm, and that light in the greenhouse will be sufficient too.
    2 points
  18. Unfortunately Im not yet experienced enough to answer you on that my apologies. If you put them outside at 6am is it still completely dark or are there some lights in the vicinity? The greenhouse will depend on the material used as the cover I assume. What is the reason for taking them outside at 6am?

  19. Thank you alll for your input ... im going to have a look today , is it possible to move the plants outside at 6 the moring and inside at 6 at night to keep them in flowering mode?

  20. Hi guys, I finally got around to doing what I originally wanted to do, which is make vape oil with my rosin press. My last attempt wasn't satisfying. I changed my approach to making bubble hash first and then pressing the hash. Bonus here being you can use your trimmings and rejects. I documented it on my forum, it's a lengthy series of posts so I rather not repeat that exercise on my phone again, so have a look here, starting at this post: https://thegrotto.co.za/forum/threads/the-cannabis-chronicles.116/post-16678

  21. So with enough time to spare I'm squeezing in a regular seed run. Clones are doing their thing in veg. Still waiting on a clone or 2 to reach size for a transplant and another 3 or 4 weeks veg. Females in the tent: Slurricane, Blunicorn, Ghost train haze #1, Green Crack, Chocolope NL x Gelato #33, Orange Kush Cake, Male: It was a toss up between a chocolope NL or GTH male originally, but the gelato cross males are really interesting me right now. 22. I use a 45l/min pump and does the job well for an airlift brewer in a 25L bucket. There is a way to check whether your flow rate coming out the pipe is good enough for sufficient aeration and mine passed the test quite easily... This video will give you a better idea of the flow rate

  23. Haha, yeah I've made the mistake of keepings cfls too far from seedlings before... I veg for 6 weeks on average... Trying to cut it down to 5 [emoji23] A 6 week veg ends up filling my 70cm x 70cm tent quite nicely by the end of flower. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk

  25. [emoji1362]Nice mention bro... Not many people know this, but its important. It's the reason we keep clones in humidity domes for the first couple of days, they stay alive by taking in most of their water from the leaves until they develop roots. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk

  27. Hey bud, you very safe with 3 10l end. I would say go more. Royal queen seed say 9 11l pot in 1m2. But if lighting is a factor. Maybe sit around 6 10l pots with 2 of these lights set in a rectangle setting. Good luck. Maybe get 1 cool white and 1 warm white. Mix the spectrums if you running them throughout. I’ve got 1 warm one with 4 cool white 18w tubes for veg. Works very well

  31. That list that Live Canna supplied will do... although I cant really see how phosphoric acid would do any harm to microlife and such. It's used as PH down with hydro. It's also used with beer brewing to lower PH so I really don't see any harm in using it. I found lowering ph with things like vinegar or lemon juice took a lot of the stuff to get the desired results to the point that my water stank of the stuff. Whereas with phosphoric acid you just need a few drops. There are also options like nitric acid or citric acid(essentially concentrated acid from a lemon). Up to you though what ultimate route you wanna take.

  37. It's connected 24/7 via the temp controller. I have a strong feeling that the heater is maintaining a temp of 26 and then the lights are pushing it up to 30. I was thinking that it was strange that I was getting similar temps in cold days that I am now.. Will see if setting controller to 22 deg makes a difference, maybe it's just a false hunch or sense of hope from my side Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk

  39. Nice one man... My suggestion for the next run, if you still want to keep 4 plants, is as follows. For each tree; Top below the 4th node around day 21, clean off growth from 1st node, and then train the 4 new mains sideways for about a week or 2 - until the tree is just under half the desired total height - and then flower. 41. The bigger tree is gonna take over a lot of the space when stretching... Don't feel bad to remove some bud sites if it gets too crowded... You could get some practice at cloning as well. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk

  42. So guys, I've trimmed up all my buds, and have them in jars right now... I'll weigh them in after about 2 or 3 days in their jars with the 58% Boveda packs. If I had to guess, I'd say its around 150g... Pretty low yield but I know what I did wrong this time. By the end of trimming, I smoked a joint with a decent hash noodle, lost a small ball of scissor hash, and recovered an even bigger ball of scissor hash when I finally finished up all the buds. Got a decent amount of some frosty trim as well. Here's a few shots, Enjoy

  43. Hospital, surgery.. back home. Sitting.. still not the best thing to do hehehe but I limped to my plants.. friend took good care of them. I have photos and video still on the cams.. I finish the diary as soon as I can sit more comfy and can work. Last 5 plants went dark end week 12.. as expected. Still.. they took a bit long. Smell is very intense and is a bit like nasty sweat smell. I try to achieve 14 days dry time... friend told me to try it. Moisture right now.. is a bit like 2 weeks curing on a stick 61% humidity, so why not try a 14 day slow dry. He gave me some WW he slow dried.. very very sexy smoke, i give him that.

  45. Greetings all. well not much to complain about, no major problems either. This is Choc Kush and looking the best in the tent. Going to be some nice colas from tbis lady as all the branches are loaded with bud sites. Then we have Sherb breath, this plant smells like mixed candy bowl/ packet skittles. She was a lil stretchy but not to much at all, also building lovely bud sites. Then there is this lady,Jacob's Ladder wow she is eager with the resin production and pushing some citrus smells. took clones and all have roots, running out of veg space fast but there is always a way. Already setup for a lekker outdoor season with soil cooking and clones ready to go outside. Some leka forest leaves and wood to boost the microbes, enjoying AACT when turning.

  48. Well it suposed to be easy. Its autos aswell and the other guys just germ with normal shot glass and paper towel or soak and staright in seed cube thingyz. The 1st seed did take a while to crack open. Its potted for about 4 days now. Just gona wait on that 1. 2nd seed is in the paper towel atm. For some reason i feel abit more confident about this 1. Gona wait abit fir that tap root and the pot. I have been potting in root plugs. (From the uk apparently quite good) and putting that into final pot. If i dont come right with the 1st or 2nd seed. I have 1 more auto to try. I probably might use ur reccomendation with that 1. When germing in a plastic bag. I keep the temp around 26-29 ( place it on my modem) as per @Bakstein420 reccomendation. And in the grow box. I raised the pots close to the light and put a dome on to increase the temp. Outside the dome its about 22 degrees. So inside should be abit warmer. Trying to be patient with the seeds. Spent alot of time. Effort and cash to get to this stage. So just gona be patient and keep at it. Something has to work eventually. ( only issue is that im gona run out of auto soon. Which i really wana try growing) Patience is key in this game i guess.
